Sounds like a wonderful vacation!! I would love a little Florida sunshine, it was about 10 degrees here today! Congratulations on your NSV's, how exciting!

Well, I am back from visiting my daughter in Florida. I must admit I was concerned about making the trip only 7 weeks post-op, but it went just fine! (except on one occasion when I ate too much too fast) In fact, I had the best NSV to date. I didn't need a seatbelt extender on the plane for the first time in 15 years!! And, I could actually move down the aisle of the plane without bumping any seats or passengers. I didn't even need to turn sideways. I couldn't believe it! The reality of how this weight loss surgery is changing my life hit me like a ton of bricks and I was so thankful I did it! It's things like this that the forever skinny people just can't possibly appreciate, but I'll never forget it

Hahaha I had a partial chinectomy, but not a full one yet. I am hoping my next NSV is visible collar bones! -
That is a major NSV!!!!Woohoo!

It happened so gradually, I just noticed yesterday that my thighs no longer rub together! I can wear pants, stockings or go bare legged without making a sound or creating friction! I also have a "gap" between my legs...I've never seen space there before - LOL!

NSV Clothes and I can see...Finally!
Kattastic posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started out in October at a size 22/24. I was finally forced to buy a couple of new bras last night, one pair of Jeans, and two new shirts. The shirts are size 14/16 and the jeans are size 18. I probably could've bought a 16 but they would have definitely been too tight in the sitting position LOL. The scale is still moving but this is exciting because I can finally see the difference myself! -
My NSV: Two years out and I feel like a normal thin person. I don't obsess obout food, shopping for clothes, reading labels, counting calories, feeling guilty if I eat a cookie, feeling uncomfortable in conversations about weight, stairs don't scare me. I don't think about these things anymore...... I FEEL FREE!!!!! MERRY MERRY EVERYONE!!!!!

Thank you so much for this post! I didn't know the term NSV and had to Google it. Congratulations! I know all about sitting in a chair and fitting (hello, economy airline seats). My hotel robe fit for the first time last month and I left a shirt or a pair of pants in every hotel in the last 8 weeks. Since I've been overseas I would "optimistically" pack the next size down on each trip so that I didn't have to worry about my pants falling off at work. I didn't think about my gym clothes though. Good thing those suckers have a draw string! -

These are so inspiring -- I just called a friend to go for a walk as apparently I wasn't going to get it done on my own. Plows have come through and it's a sunny day so the world is sparkling. Initiating exercise can be hard for me to do -- I have a mental battle. But reading these NSVs, I'm doing it! Seize the day. And I think new workout clothes are a fabulous idea. Maybe when I hit my 33 pounds off mark. That's the weight of a cinder block I won't be carrying around anymore. -

Several recent NSV's popped into my mind! 1. My Mom witnessing and commenting on younger men checking me out! 2. There is now room in my chair for the little doggie to lay next me!! She loves that and so do I!! 3. But mostly, just being able to do anything I want now! Including keeping up with my 4 year old nephew. 4. Lastly, but certainly not least. I love working out because of the workout clothes! LOL!! -

Just a quick NSV from a few years ago, before lapband, I sat in the same position as my hubby, way back with tummy rubbed by steering wheel. Now, I sit almost as close as possible where my skinny d-i-l sits or my short daughter sits. It is great!! -
Christmas - New Year Challenge

AWESOME NSVs! I'm just a bit behind you on your progression and know EXACTLY how you feel. My THREE pairs of size 16 pants are getting just a bit loose, but they're all I've got now since I worry about the 18s slipping off. Another few pounds and I'll be brave enough to try my first pair of 14s in some 25 years. Great changes for you...you definitely have something to be EXCITED about. Congrats!!! -
Good morning everyone! Down to 212.2 this week. Also had 2 NSVs yesterday I have to share! First, was able to zip up a size 14 LINED Banana Republic suit skirt (could not believe it when it actually pulled up over my hips) and I officially can wrap a standard size bath towel around me with no gap! Woohoo! Took a picture yesterday because I got so excited! Before I was at 288. These challenges are so inspiring to me. Thanks everyone!

I'm staying in a hotel in Seattle with my mom and sisters for a girls night out. We've shopped, eaten out, and have had a great time! What really made me feel good we're all the NSV's one right after the other! First, I brought PJ's that didn't fit me last month, and they fit perfectly now, size xxl! Second, I bought my first pair of size 16w jeans at Macy's - all the way down from a size 26-28. Third- I went to Old Navy and I was able to fit in size Xxl or Xl depending on fit- I've never been able to shop the store before for clothes- just jewellery and dog toys. I went a little nuts in the clearance section because I needed replacement clothes for the ones I donated cleaning out my closet! Fourth- dinner at Cheesecake Factory, and I sat in the wicker chair instead of the booth- (fit easily- 1st time for that) & ate one Thai lettuce wrap for dinner. Fifth- went swimming at the hotel and used the hotel provided robe to cover up- it fit and tied up & I heard an angelic choir singing! . It was a great day and so encouraging! I had surgery July 2nd 2013, highest weight 330, surgery weight 289, current weight 219, size 16-18. Keep going newbies- you CAN do it!

Dang 60?? Great job Molly!!! It's so hard to get the protein and fluids in don't u think?!!! And I agree with the other gal who said it's hard to do when u r so busy at work! I'm constantly busy so I forget to drink sometimes! Holidays aren't too bad. I prob had more cheese than I should have at thanksgiving and I had a few glasses of wine so I did cheat. But I didn't eat dinner that night. We will see how Christmas goes! On Christmas at my boyfriends family we do appetizers and it's my fav so I might struggle with that. I don't miss soda but I miss fast food, potatoes, bagels, rice. It's gonna be a long life lol!! But I have had a lot of NSV's so I know this will all be worth it. So how are u gonna increase your protein?? They want us to have lots of fruits and veggies but they have no protein! So today I had veggies for lunch and dinner but then I only got 59 grams of protein in. And I even had a shake. Ugh -

10 weeks out...52 pounds down. All is going ok. Hard to eat sometimes because I am not ever hungry. My friend said you used to live to eat and now you eat to live. Had the stuck feeling just a couple of times, best thing for me to do is walk it off. It lasts for about 15 minutes. I learned my lesson though...chew chew chew. I never threw up but really wanted to. I miss vegetables and salads. In due time I suppose. No dumping, but I haven't really done anything to tempt fate. No good bread, but I will have an occasional rye krisp or half of a Natures Own thin round, toasted pretty much til its dry and crumbly. I put tuna or egg salad on them. Still supplement with Protein shakes. Keeping up with the Vitamins and Nexium although Calcium is a struggle. I just wish we could take everything twice a day instead of having to space it out. Fluids are a struggle somethimes especially when I get involved at work I lose track of time. To be honest I am not doing much exercise yet except for walking. I do have more energy and don't get winded. NSV...I can cross my legs when I am sitting and the waistband of my jeans just not roll down anymore...lol. I have lost a bra cup size. I'm kinda sad about that...lol. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care and Happy Holidays! Respect the pouch! Respect it!! Lisa -
