I have this horrible fear of eating out and dumping in public places. Does anyone else have this fear? I am 4.5 weeks post op and have not experienced dumping syndrome yet. I hate having this fear! Will I get past this? I don't want to live in fear of going places for the rest of my life [emoji53]. What do you do when you travel? My son lives a 10 hr drive away from us and we usually make this trip 4 times a year. Then while visiting him it always involves site seeing, eating out and always on the go....As of right now I feel like I'm not going to enjoy this anymore [emoji53]. One of the reasons for having this surgery is so I can enjoy physical activities while visiting him. Thanks for any input [emoji4]

hi all. i didn't know where to turn so i came here. We found out less than 10 hours ago that my husbands SA came back with a zero sperm count...zero how can it be zero?! i am a mess. they called my phone while i was at work and i had to leave early for i could not function. i cried for three hours before my husband got home...i didn't know how i was ever going to tell him.He was diagnosed with low testosterone about four years ago and has been doing hormone replacement therapy this whole time. We have been through a lot the last three years with him also having an 'unknown' illness and we got that taken care of about six months ago and decided it was time to ttc. Now i don't know if that will even happen. he wants a child of his own so badly. i am afraid that this is going to send him into a depression. two yeasr ago i found out i had pcos and was told that i needed to lose a lot of weight. So i had the lapband and have lost about 80 lbs and have my pcos under control. its like now i dont know what to do..my life has been consumed and focused on having a baby... i cant stop crying. we go see our obgyn on friday to get a referral and she wants to go over our counts in person. i am not functioning very well right now and feel so overwhelmed and sad. thanks for listening... trish

I agree with you as well I am 10 days post op and it is driving me nuts as well. Just hang in there it will get better. When mine itch really bad and I can't stand it anymore I put a pack of frozen corn on my tummy and it feels so good. You can also use ice just wrap it in a towel first.

I have sizes 24-10, and I can't WAIT to donate each size as it gets too large. I have several plus-sized friends who are happy to have the clothes, and I'm thrilled to give them my stuff. I'm only about 6 weeks out and have ditched bags and bags of stuff; coats, summer stuff I'll never wear again, 24s, 22s, 20s, and coming up on some 18s that are vanity sized. I think a 14 for summer is realistic, and for $3, even if it's not -- or you blow by it, who cares at $3. It is a little panic-inducing at first, like, am I REALLY never going to need these clothes again? Really?

Premier is very popular on this board. I think Muscle Milk light tastes better. They are about the same price but the Premier does have 10 more grams of protein per carton.

Banded today (9/20/10)
amy4hr replied to YouGotBiggie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also banded early Monday morning. Can keep fluids down, but concerned that I'm retaining too much of it. I stepped on scale last night because the gas and bloat were unbelievable and I am up 10 lbs from pre surgery weigh in. Is that normal? -
I'm 10 days Post Op and now can get comfortable with a pillow under my port and find myself on my stomach at night... I'm not there long I suppose since it wakes me up! I was in recliner for the 1st 6 days or so but once I got back to my bed... it felt good and I could sleep. I do wake up more now with heartburn... and I take Zantac and Reglan everyday!

What exercise are you doing to get the weigt off?
kellyodoran replied to kckaye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I walk 30min. twice a day, 7 days a week....I am losing on average 10 pounds per month! I eat between 1100 and 1400 calories! Hope that helps, and good luck! -
I have been having problems with my insurance company. They approved the doc I was going to use 10 min from my house and 1 week out from surgery they decided to turn down using that doctor and instead go 4 hours south to ucla med. The doc there is trying to convince me that the bypass would be better for me because he said that over all you will loose 5% more weight loss over all. I have a final pre op appointment tomarow and then submit to insurance company again. Surgery scheduled for may 6th now if insurance douse not change there mind again

Hi guys. Has anyone had h-pylori after the sleeve? I'm 5 weeks post op and before it I had an endoscopy that uncovered h-pylori. They wanted to get rid of it before my op so I went on what they call triple therapy, 2 types of antibiotics and a PPI. After the op the histology showed that it hasn't been eradicated and now I'm on quadruple therapy which is the same again but with bismuth. In total it's 10 pills a day and they are giant. One of them tastes so bad it leaves a taste all day no matter how many times you brush your teeth. I am feeling awful from this. I think it would be difficult for anyone but trying to do this with the sleeve is awful. The pills are so large and disgusting that I need a lot of liquid to get them down but that makes me feel so nauseous I can't eat. I also have diarrhoea. Finally I have insatiable hunger but mixed with nausea so that I can't eat but when I force myself to the hunger doesn't go away anyway. The pills feel like they're stuck in my throat. Sorry for the long post I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through this treatment.

Fear of not losing enough weight
Kasey Parker replied to yasmineSF's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had mine right at 10 weeks ago today, and I constantly have that fear. I've seen friends who were successful at it and some who weren't. I just try to keep a clear mind about it. I lost 120lbs on my own years ago (in 2011) but gained it all but 5lbs back. It taught me a lesson!! -
Has anyone else had issues breaking out in hives in the first few months following surgery? The first time it happened was about 3 weeks after surgery. It's very random, but probably 10 times or so in the last four months. I've never had any sort of allergies before (skin, seasonal or food). Nothing has changed in my skin care or laundry. I'm creature of habit so all the same soaps, etc. My primary care doc says its likely a new food allergy or something I'm eating, but I cant find any sort of a pattern. Thoughts anyone?

I have Gerd. I was on Protonix 1x per day 40 mg. He made me get EGD done. Then there was an dent is my stomach. Had to go to a specialist and have another EGD. He said at one time my spleen must have been enlarged at some point. I did have horrible reflux. I take protonix 40 mg 2x a day, and carafate 4x a day and finally i do not feel like a ate a ball of fire! Discuss your concerns with your dr. It's been a very long 7 1/2 months for me.... but I can confidently and proudly say that I finally feel as though the inside matches the outside! I'm about 5lbs to my goal, (although I'm only about 3 months out from my actual bypass procedure), and I went on a mini shopping spree today, and it felt SO good! From size 22 pants and 1x or 2x shirts, to size 8 or 10 pants, and a size M shirts. Everyone who is struggling in the first few days or weeks after surgery, just keep your mind on the end result. Everyone with complications, surround yourself with love and support and you'll make it through. You'll make it through, just keep pushing!

I'm scheduled Jan 19 to get sleeved. I'm scarred too. But hoping in God all will be good with you and me ???? I'm taking Premier Protein from Sam's Club. It's very hard once in awhile a slip and take a bite or two of something...but at least I don't eat everything like I was used to doing. My surgery is going to done on Edinburg, Texas that's in Deep South Texas. God bless and I will be keeping an eye on your posts.

I’m on day 10 post op. I had the sleeve too and I got the hunger feeling started yesterday but I noticed I didn’t have enough protein intake. I guess I have a mindset of 40-48g of protein but my dietitian advised me today that I can take more proteins. I was counting the bone broth as my protein intake which made me hungry a bit although I’m using the Paleo/Keto friendly broth with 10g of protein. I changed it today and I’m not hungry. Can’t wait for the soft/puréed stage next week. I started watching videos on YouTube and it’s interesting and I found them helpful for our next stage.
