  2. u know i love u 2!!!!!!! ur absolutely right...i've become so focused on not gaining my weight back...i've stopped enjoying my loss...the fear is starting to over-come my joy...sometimes i can feel my body just can't do anymore exercising...so i'll take a day or 2 off at the gym...and then i freak out bcuz i feel like i've gained a pound...(which i don't)...i really need to take control of my fear and realize im going to be okay...

  3. I have been sick alot over the past few months. I found out I had nodular goiters and one was so large it caused breathing problems. I had it removed on October 30th and I am still recovering. Now I have a scar across my neck and wish that I could just heal. I have no energy to exercise and even though I am losing weight I sometimes feel like a failure because I can't exercise. I hope things change for me really soon!

  4. hi miss. Lisa how have you been long time no talk well everything is going great !!! I'm so excited because this is all about to happen soon =) and as fas as the pre op diet .. well lets just say that i don't have one and i have been taking advantage of it truthfully i have gained some but the Dr. just did not want me to be over not even 1lb from were i was when i first stared which is 245 and I'm still under that but i had taken that way too far eating lots of crap but starting 2morrow with the help of god i will get back on track i have all the tools just have been lazy and been milking it soo wish me luck =) .. so how are things going for you ?

  5. Hey Vikki!!! I feel your pain!!! I'm getting my fill 11/5 and hear everything will change after that! Like you, I'm not restricting myself with portion control. Second helpings? Yes, please! I've been skipping bread and trying to make good choices, but sometimes I am just out of control! I haven't gained anything either (whew! My doctor has a temper and I think he would be pissed!) I've been going to a gym 4-5 times a week and I workout hard for about 30 minutes. I walk on the treadmill, and do strength training. (However, just hearing about your schedule made me more exhausted.....how do you do it?!!!) It's got to be really hard trying to find that perfect high protein, low carb, no sugar, blah, blah blah meal when you're on the go like that!!! We're going to be fine! It's always great to hear from you!

  6. Thanks for the comment. My workout routine started as promising myself at least 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. If I did no more than that I wasn't allowed to get down on myself. I slowly started adding in weights. I would work on my abs and get a good routine for that. My cardio strarted getting boring so I would change it up with spinning and zumba. After about 8 months I had the gym make me a weight program to follow and I did that for about 8 weeks. It also got me more comfortable around more weight machines.

I have always stuck to my cardio 3 times a week, and one day I do arms, one day I do legs and one or two days a week I do my abs. I'm not hard core, but I give myself a good workout.

I started working out (again...I've started and stopped a million times before) about 6 weeks after surgery. Hard to believe it has been a year ago!

  7. Call 212 263 3166 to get to the weight loss center at NYU.

  8. Hi Stagin

I know exactly what your feeling, the weightloss is slow for me as well, I think I may have gained 2-3 pounds. I go back November, I hope I can get a feel. My number is 910-476-2194

  9. The pregnancy is a bit depressing. I worked so hard to lose the weight; I am really struggling with my growing belly... which REALLY upset's Dr. C. He said "I remember when you came in here and this was all fat... now it's all baby". I am so tired of people asking if it's twins... No I'm just fat! While I'm very fortunate not to have gained any weight. I already look like I have a basketball in my stomach and I'm only 10 weeks. The comments from my co-workers etc... is very disheartening. :( On a positive note... 8 lbs is FANTASTIC! Congrats! You are doing so wonderful. I will keep my fingers crossed and you in my prayers about your weight loss prior to his birthday party. Are you exercising? What are you eating? How are you feeling aside from the adjustment discomfort/sickness? I hope you are doing great and look forwarding to keeping in touch!

  10. Hey girl…I know it has been like forever. I am sure you are well in to the 30 or 40 pounds gone by now ;-). I on the other hand have finally gotten restriction as of a week now and am only down 22lbs total. I am so hoping that I will start to see a big difference. I had been struggling with the exercise as well between work, school and traffic but made sure I got at least an hour of cardio/weight lifting 3 times a week. I am taking a 2 week break before my next class starts so I have been doing some form of cardio everyday…even decided to try hiking...hehe. We definitely need to meet up…maybe on a Saturday we can go for a walk or something and do lunch. PG county has so many parks with trails and paths. I hope you are doing well and have restriction. I went to the doc yesterday and passed on a fill…its weird but all of a sudden I am tight and loving it…lol. Wait till u see us next summer ;-). Talk to you soon.

  11. Hi kellster Do you have the lapband and how much weight have you lost. An if so can we keep in touch i have the lapband for about a 1 year now an i need help

  12. How are you? getting close to goal? I have gained over 10 lbs back girl, I lost all will once I lost my insurance and job...

  13. Well thanks for the add! Great job on your weight loss! I'd say 30lbs in a month is something to be proud of! Mine is really not as bad as others I have spoken with. 2 meals are protein shakes which I adore! My fave is one I invented chocolate-cherry-banana YUM! The 3rd meal is soup, snacks I can have sf/ff yogurt, pudding, or jello. And the fact that I dropped 8 in 6 days, shoot I must be doing something right : )

I took my son for a walk before we ran errands earlier. It was only about 20 min. but hey i was walking as fast as my fat butt would let me and pushing his 26 lbs in his car, lol. Well I have already had a c-section so I don't figure this pain to be near that. My goal is 145 or a little lower and I am only almost 5'3". So I am really going to try to push being stricter on this last week. I go get bloodwork done on friday. How long would you say I would have to go without picking up my 18 month old?

    HUGS, Starla

  14. Wow Chels, you're whooping everyone at this weight loss stuff. I can't believe how fast you're doing this... the weights just melting off of you. What's your secret? You're an inspiration to all!

  15. how is weight loss coming?

  16. Hi, I hope all is well with everyone today. I did not have a very active day today. I have good intentions to walk, but then the day got upset with elderly mother and elderly father-in-law, stress, OMG, and the day was a bust. Just about the time I had a little daylight to walk, I took off my heels, got out my tennis shoes and here comes one of my customers just killing time, yes my time to go walk. So I left work barefoot feeling defeated and drove home that way. I got home fixed dinner for my husband and myself, then weighed. I usually don't weigh till morning after checking my ketosis. I was down a whole pound on a night weight!!!! A great end to a not so great day. I think I will committ to join the Gym, I know if I do I will go because I will be paying for it! LOL I have a luncheon tomorrow and one on Wed. for my Class Reunion Planning. I plan to eat before I go and munch on a salad with low fat dressing and water afterwards! I am looking forward to the reunion!

  17. I know what you mean! One of my incentives to lose was to get back to riding horseback (wouldn't get on the poor thing until I got back down to at least 250, which is the maximum any Equestrian farm will allow! lol)... I have been riding every day now for about 6 months, and I can even "round them up from the field" without being short of breath and feeling like I was going to have a heart attack! lol! Next thing I need to master is saddling up without having to use a bucket to get in the saddle (16 hands high horse!) lol! I have also had knee surgery and have very weak knees, so getting the rest of this weight off will help that as well, I am sure. I have lost 85 pounds so far and have 65 to go... I will update pics soon, still not comfortable in front of the camera yet! lol! Good luck and hope to see "less of you" soon!

  18. thank u for the compliments...if u exercise hard and follow the rules in the begining ...ur post-up diet to a t...ur going to b at goal in no time...i was 29 when i was banded...ur age is definitely on ur side..4 the first 9 months after surgery...i power walked ...jogged and rode my bike...when i say power-walked...i mean it...no strolling...i added to my routine once a month...making my walks/jogs longer and longer...i lost most of my weight the first 9 months after surgery...in my 10th month i joined the gym...my routine is pretty harsh...and if u havent been exercising like i didnt prior to being banded i would start out walking

  19. Good luck with the band. I'm doing great but I still fight the addiction, daily. Check out my blog at IF YOUR STOMACH OFFENDS YOU, TIE IT OFF if you want to read about my journey. I started it a week before my surgery on June 18 and I deal with a lot of the addiction issues. I get scared sometimes that I'll gain it back but I've got a tool now to help me. Deo Valente

  20. Anything new down there? I am just now getting back on track I guess after a couple of months of needing a fill and not being able to get one...I was just happy not to gain during that time! Now I can only eat tiny meals or get a bitch-slap from the mistress of bitch-slaps...my band! Let me know how youre doing...

  21. Hi there!

Just saw your post and I have to say you look wonderful. What's even better is you sound so happy. I can relate to just about everything you posted about yourself. I am just now awaiting the approval from my insurance company. We hope to know by next week and then schedule surgery for the 1st week of December.

It is so inspiring to see someone "like me"...not in my 20's...(I'm actually 43) use this tool to lose so much weight. My biggest fear is that I will go through surgery and only lose that 60-80 pounds. (Which I've done by myself many times over during the last 15 years.)

Please keep posting about your successes and how wonderful you feel...it is true inspiration and motivation for me.

Congratulations on all your hard work. It really shows!!

    Claricey :)

  22. Ive been looking at your pics and reading your posts. Have you had the surgery yet? When are you scheduled? What's your starting weight? I'm 3 1/2 weeks away and counting..... 293.6 this morning. Can't wait to get pictures up here!

  23. Youre welcome. I havent had the op yet. I just got approval so I'm on the waiting list. I'm told it should be done by Feb at the latest but I have signed up for any cancellations so fingers crossed it will be before Christmas. I have been watching you and Julie-Ann and your progress is such an encouragement. I am so looking forward to being able to put my before and after pics here. I am also looking forward to watching weight come off the scales and stay off. But I know it won't be easy. I have also read bloggs of people who have struggled and not lost much weight at all. Thats the scary part. One thing that impresses me about your blog is that you manage to remain positive when the scales go up! I know that will be a problem for me as I weigh my self everyday and my mood depends on what they say.

I will have to change that I know.

Thanks for your post and thanks for sharing your journey.

    take care x
