Hi Karina, I have been dealing with Triwest since March. I have dealt with denials, appeals, denials to appeals, etc. I am 5'3", 244, no co-morbs, and I have a medium frame. I am hoping now to qualify under their 200% rule. I was resubmitted today, but it has not shown up on the site yet. Do you know anything about the 200%? My ideal weight should be like 131-150-something. I am really hoping to qualify this time. Just thought I would share with you! You are not alone.

hey, your doing great! We got banded around the same time, and were about the same weight. I was just wondering are you at your best restriction, I havent found that yet.. Also how much do you normally eat? Do you exercise?

Sorry for just responding. I'm doing pretty good today. My doctor is Dr. Brody out of GW Hospital. He is a good doctor very nice, but his office staff is another question. I had to stay on top of them for everything. Was it worth it YES. I have been overweight my entire life. I've tried Weight Watchers, Medifast and countless other things. I feel this is what I need to help me get to where I want and to also be healthy. Is it a scarfice YES. You have to change your lifestyle but again it is worth it.. It was the longest process that I've had to deal with besides having my son and it actually took as long having my son. I had to do the six month weight management and let me tell you that was nerve wrecking, but I'm already 15lbs down with a long way to go but I feel good. I'm happy and I'm looking forward to a new me.. I probably gave you more information than you wanted.. I ramble sometime, but hope it helps. Reply back anything time I'm willing to help you as much as I can.. we are all in this together.
One more thing my doctor kept me in the hospital overnight. I think that is good.. they do testing before you leave the next morning to make sure everything is working the way it should.

Marie, hi April from Indiana. New to the site, looking for some help on how to set up the cool weight counters and other things like that on my page. Any advice on how to add that info. Banded on July 14, start weight 324 current 265.

Hey Kelli: I saw you are a lab tech, so am I.
I am a little nervous, only because I think I will miss eating as much as I am used too. This last 8.5 days have been trying, I have been longing for pizza & toast.
How did you post that weight tracker, I found the site but I don't know how to transfer it to this site.
Marie

Hey girl, Thanks for the friendship request! How is your weight loss journey going so far.
-
No, nothing was posted about you, it's just I hadn't seen any postings from you on any of her threads lately so I was just reaching unwarranted conclusions. I find your postings so uplifting I missed them. Sorry to hear you've hit the wall with the weight loss but steady wins the race in the end so come on back.

That is AWESOME! I think the exercise is the key! I have eaten this and that but I find if I keep exercising, the weight still comes off. Plus it will keep you from being a droopy skinny person if you start building the muscle now! I wanted to lose 80 pounds total. I don't want it to take a year...but if it does, it does! I guess I need to work on my patience. It took longer than a year to gain it all...right?

I just emailed you about the my Dr. visit this a.m. Now my port site is sore. Evidently from him having to access it. Grr...I was doing well. Where is your port located? Have you lost any weight?
-
i dunno ... LOL, ask me after i deliver and see how my tummy looks.
but to be honest, i knew i'd need some sort of revision anyway cause i still had weight to lose, i basically wanted to get rid of my pannus - it was hindering my exercising ... soooo, i will get a revision (more than likely - who knows though) and some other PS later...

1045 Sycamore Dr.

They may make you attend one of the information sessions go to Surgical Weight Management - Bariatric Weight Loss Surgeons in Atlanta, Georgia performing Lap-Band and Gastric Bypass Surgeries for dates and times. They are great with getting you in for appointments. Shawna is wonderful about guiding you through the steps and submitting paperwork. My approval came through in about 2 days. Let me know how it goes!

Wow April 11 pounds since surgery. I haven't lost anything. I have been so bloated and I have only been doing liquids as well. I want to start working out but I want to wait till after the three weeks is up. I want to give my body a change to heal. Yesterday at work I was in pain at the port site so I had to take some pain meds. Today is 9 days out.
Congrats on the weight loss to date. You must be doing this thing right.

Hi slowmover!! Well things are going well. I get my first fill on Oct. 6th. I basically went through my recovery alone because my husband went out of town that night and I had to take care of the kids. (forget the medal...give me a spa vacation!!). I didn't tell anyone else about the surgery, so I couldn't lean on them afterwords. But the recovery went really well...no gas pains, no shoulder pains, it was really easy compared to my c-section surgeries (I've had 3). I'm just looking forward to losing weight. I have lost 10 pounds so far...but nothing in the last week. So I can't wait for a fill!!

I so know what you are talking about October I will be 34 and when I go out I feel so out of place, with young hot girls and not so hot girls all around. What State are you in? I am sure the more weight you lose the less you are going to feel like this.

hi anjie, nice to meet you. like your pink flower pic! i got my band on 6/10/08 and have lost 37.5 lbs (including pre-op weight loss). slow going really but at least the scale is going down! pretty used to the band by now and haven't had much trouble with it at all! hope you are well!

Running really is fun and I'm amazed how many people I'm meeting that I would have never considered talking to if it weren't for the running. I am starting to see my weight loss slow a little bit. But, I'm ok with that, as long as it doens't stop!
