  1. JessiA,

I am so new to this website didn't even know how to get your message. I am on softs, or not so much really. I been suffering because bad choices in things to eat. I do feel full, different full but full after much less, but I can't wait to be filled. I have even eaten salad just not much. I like tuna, easy to chew and make soft. I like cheese but thought about calories and going to start buying less fat cheese, but one slice helps me out. I have done fruit soft. I have had one night not proud of, did go out to eat ate 8bits salad slice bread and 2oz of meat, 1/4 baked potato and was very full. Then 3 hours later snack with kids at movies with candy and popcorn and was in pain. I paid for that. So, with this I think we learn our lesson and keep learning until we start losing. This has been the toughest baddle of my life, Losing weight. I gotta give time and for my body to heal and ajust to this new life. I will see the scale move. YOU will see the scale move.

  3. Hi momwifelove!

We are having our surgery on the same date! Isn't that cool? Maybe we could support each other and help out each other. What is your start weight? I'm 245. Where are you getting your surger? I'm getting it at the SWLC in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Are you worried about the surgery at all? I'm more worried about the pre-diet and stuff.

I wish you lots of luck!!!!

    Your Pal,

    Cammy

  4. The weekend was pretty okay! I actually went to Applebee's (shhhh). They have a Weight Watchers approved meal (4 points I think. Maybe 7.Either way I'm NOT doing WW) where the steak is 4 oz, which is exactly the size I need. Comes with steamed veggies (which I didnt touch. Because I thought the broccoli would be too much for me) and boiled potatoes. I just smooshed them with my fork to make "mashed" potatoes. Came with a brown sauce which I got on the side to dip the steak in to help it go down better. Everything was fine. And I felt like a normal person!! But I laughed so hard at the sight of a 4oz steak. It was puny!

  5. Hey Jeremy! Nice to meet you as well! I didn't see this post until today after you left one on mine. Things are going well, I see the doc tomorrow bc of some "drainage". Sick I know, but I guess there is no modesty or shame here really if we have all been through it. When were you banded? Hows the losing going? I have to get on my Wii Fit for them to yell at me and tell me that I am obese and then praise me for losing weight! It cracks me up. Pretty good work out though. TTYL, Take care, Meredith

  6. Hi hun, im getting banded on the 11th of august 09 by NHS... I finally got a date... My weight is 242 but im short 5'2 :(. Im hoping it works well on me.

Let me know how you doing, i hope you feeling great hun.

  7. Hey Kelly!!! I see that we are banding twins on the 8th, you know 8 is the number for new beginning. Welcome to your new beginning. I wish you great success in your weight loss.

  8. i can honestly say he has always treated me like a queen...but his love or feelings never changed with my weight loss...he doesnt love me or treat any different these days as he did when i had the weight on...he still looks at me the same exact way...and i appreciate that soooo much.

  9. I hope you get this too - I'm new at this too and have no idea what I'm doing just yet! :0)

I know what you mean about starving. I am sooooo hungry! I get to start on "regular" food today! YAY!!! No more mooshy food! I found that the mooshy stage was the hardest. I am so sick of tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, etc. Plus, I haven't lost weight like I would like to have. I had my surgery on June 10th and I've lost 20 lbs - only 3 lbs on the mooshy diet. I'm hoping it gets better once I can incorporate veggies in my diet. I can't wait to have some grilled chicken and brocolli! 6 months ago I would have said I couldn't wait to have a big fat pizza with some german chocolate cake afterwards! haha

  10. hi again !

Im actually past my goal weight. I started out at 243 and currently at 141. My goal weight was 165. After a couple of fills and unfills I am at adequate restriction. Its was a bumpy journey at times, but all well worth it. Good luck and don't give up, as the outcome is well rewarded.

  11. Hey girl, just wanted to say that my doc did away with the 'mushies' stage just for the reason you stated...you can chew almost anything into a mushie. Also during Bandster Hell (before you get restriction) it's all about healing. If you're drinking more protein shakes (or eating more mushies) to curb your hunger, it's OK...they go straight into your stomach (many gain weight during this period). When I got to solids I found I actually didn't have to chew much at all...in fact I got hungry faster if I chewed everything into a pulp before restriction. Hang in there...I think it's different for everyone and part of this process is figuring out what works for you. Good luck! -BG

  12. Hi Dionne!

    27.5 lbs.!!! That is awesome!

I got my third fill about a week ago and I am definitely restricted now too! I lost 4 lbs. in the first week following the fill! I think this will get things rolling again for me, as my weight loss had all but stopped too! I have lost 28 lbs. to date! We seem to be neck in neck with our progress!! It's been interesting adjusting to the new restriciton, but I am doing pretty good. I have a much harder time eating breads, muffins and buns now. I mostly avoid them. I have to stick wtih protein shakes for breakfast, because it is just too tight in the mornings for foods. But by lunch time, I can eat regular food. Thank goodness, because I am not real big on those shakes! I just found out a few days ago that I am going to my a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding in April! So, now I have even more incentive to lose this weight! Take care and let me know how you are doing with your new fill as well!

    Shelley : )

  13. Thanks BG! Yes solid proteins are staying down nicely now. I am on Day 3 of LOW CARBS and I feel pretty good, I have more control again. I have tried to low carb pre-band and I lost 40lbs but gained most of it back soon after. I hoping now with the band that it wont come back. So far so good 3 days in. I happy to be back on the band wagon. :)

  14. 70 pounds is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! its hard to compare ur loss with other peoples...there r so many factors that weight in...i have lost 128 pounds...please don't let that discourage u...70 pounds is excellent!!!!!!

  15. Hello. I just joined this site today and oh my gosh, you look so great! You are definently going to be my inspiration. I had my lapband surgery done on Oct 17, 2008. Can you tell me the amount of weight you have lost so far? I have lost 71 pounds and I am just wondering if this is a good compared to others. You are so beautiful, you have to be so happy!

  16. Hey Carrie! I'm doing great. Enjoying the warm weather. I've basically been living at my brother's house because he has a pool. I have this Friday off work and i'm going to spend all day there. How are you doing? How's the weight loss coming along?

  17. Thanks Keith, and congrats to you on the 100# mark – that is a huge milestone. I think the weight training and protein have been key in getting the BF where I want it. I am about due to get tested again and think I am closer to 13% now. Can you believe it? Me at 13% BF, I still think it’s unbelievable. Truth be told though, some people are saying I look a little too skinny – which is sort of true. I haven’t been able to tone up all of my muscles fast enough. So while it’s true I have very little fat left, I still have quite a bit of work to do on the muscles. It’s all good though, I love going to the gym now.

  19. Hi, I saw your post. We are being banded on the same day... and are nearly the same weight and BMI (you must be 5'3'). Do you have a surgery time set yet on 12/4? I don't. I hope we can keep in touch!

  20. sometimes i wish i could make myself go back on liquids only. I wish i could lose more weight! im sooooo frustrated! i have been going to the gym and still no weight loss!!! oh well enough about me LOL how are you dealing with the liquid only phase?

  21. I went to Mexicali for a slight unfill on Friday and saw Dr. Campos. He is the asst. surgeon and he is the one who does the fills. He had the sleeve procedure done just before I got my band and he has lost so much weight. Everybody there is really nice. I believe you will be very happy you chose Dr. Aceves.

  22. Thank you so much for the comment! My starting weight was 280 and right now I weigh about 187. Right now my goal is 170 but it depends on what it looks like when I get there. You can message me for tips but small portions several times a day and in the gym is what I do!
