  1. Thanks for getting back with me. I has been awhile since I've been on the site. Your recommendations look great and I hope to try and follow them. I live in Weidman Michigan. I'm located in the middle of michigan by Mt. Pleasant. Were are you from? Weight loss is still slow. I just need to recommit and follow your rules. I do eat carbs. I think I'm a carb junkie. I need to find a way to eliminate them without going crazy. Nice chatting with ya. Have a great 4th of July.

  2. I am on the liquid diet now, have done the psych test and now awaiting clearance from a cardiologist and i will get definate date....looks like it will be end of July.

Jazz fest used to be a wonderfully small and inexpensive experience but it has grown so large now, i think they are speaking of expanding it out more days to help with the overcrowding. I lived in New Orleans all my life until Hurricane Katrina, now I live in Diamondhead Ms. it's still on the coast though.

I hope to lose about 80 lbs. I had to gain 5 lbs to get in the weight/bmi that would be accepted by my insurance company, it took me 5 months to get them to agree to pay for it. It was worth it to save having to self pay though.

  3. I'm lucky I got a picture of myself for the avatar! No idea how to use the weight ticker thing. If you figure it out, let me know. I have not microwaved the egg beaters. I'll have to try it. I havent lost any weight this week, granted I havent gained any either. I'm a tad disappointed but at least I'm not gaining. And I'm doing the regimen the nutritionist gave me. So I trust them. I'm just so impatient about the weight loss. Have a great weekend!! IT's finally not going to rain in Boston this weekend, so I plan on enjoying the sun! Jen

  4. hey california29,

just wanted to check in with ya and see how your doing. I had my 1st refill july 3rd and I can really tell the differents. Hope your losing lots of weight

  5. Great Job! Apples, I was banded on June 4, 2009 and I am 5'2" starting weight 219. Just went for my first visit to the doctor and got my first fill 3cc's. Down to 205, and can't wait until the scale moves below the 200 mark. So looking forward to the day that i can post that I have lost anyways from 80 to 100 lbs.

I would love to see your before and after pictures.

Congrats To You!!!!! Way to Go Apples2!

    Laurie

  6. HI , thank you for your words of encouragement . you know its crazy because the people from the surgeons office told me that if i did lose 20lbs that i would no longer fit criteria to get banded i would be under 40BMI and i don't have any existing conditions like diabetes ex. ughh this is such an oxymoron lol.. but congrats on your date i bet your supper excited !!! so how much do you weigh and how much did they make you gain ?

  7. hey girl - you look great! im getting surgery Aug 27. Just some ?s. How much weight did you lose before the surgery? I am having trouble getting my butt motivated to exercise - I def need to. How was the surgery and recovery time? Hope you are feeling great. TTYS

  8. Hey Bobbie!

I'm going into day 4. So far so good, yes I have horrible hunger pangs from time to time, but I am actually handling it quite well! I have no idea how much weight I have lost my hubby hid my scales LOL I get to weigh on Wednesday though. :o) How are you doing?

  9. Your welcome! :) Thanks for the inspiration! :) I think I'm doing ok yeah...getting a bit harder now though as I'm starting to feel hungry more often but I'll get there, eventually, hopefully! :) Congrats again on u'r weight loss , keep it up! :)

  10. Keep up the good work. Typically lower carb, higher protein eating plans yeild the most weight loss. I know your feet hurt so get on a bike and ride, ride, ride and oh, don't forget the swimming pools. At the rate you're going you should have 20 lbs off by you July 2rd appt. Hang in there and remember "no pain, no gain".

  11. Hey!

Thanks for getting back to me about my anxiety. I know I'm not going "crazy" with this worry, but it's sooo comforting to know someone else has had these same feelings!!

I'm now on Paxil (didn't know anything about it before)

My PA said to get off it now because I'll gain a lot of weight from it. I'm just so ready to get my old self back!!

I'd love to hear back from you about your progress. It's nice to have a "buddy" to go through it with.

    Thanks,

    Kim

  12. Hey Lyndsay! I'm Sophia! Nice to meet you:) Yes I am considering lap band as a choice for WLS. I'm in the Pre-Beginning stages! lol I'm thinking of getting banded in Mexico, because my insurace does not cover ther cost, and there is NO way I'll ever get it here in the states with how hight the pricing is. It's so much cheaper there. The only concern I keep having is "What happens to me if something goes wrong and I'm here in Colorado?" What if I need a revision or a somthing goes wrong... what do I do... go back to Mexico, Try to see a surgeon here. It's confusing on the after care part... and that seems to be the most important part of the process. I need to get my band at the right place and pressure so that I can lose the weight optimally, ya know. So ya that's where I am. Not so scared to go to Mexico for actual surgery... I'm just thinking post op, what are my options. Where were you banded? Do you like it so far?

Thanks for the support! I need it:-)

    Sophia

my goal is 135. But I'm doing so much better

  15. Hello, I've just gotten home from being banded 6/24/09. Trying to set up a page with weight loss chart. Any help? Good luck to all!!

  16. JessiA,

I am so new to this website didn't even know how to get your message. I am on softs, or not so much really. I been suffering because bad choices in things to eat. I do feel full, different full but full after much less, but I can't wait to be filled. I have even eaten salad just not much. I like tuna, easy to chew and make soft. I like cheese but thought about calories and going to start buying less fat cheese, but one slice helps me out. I have done fruit soft. I have had one night not proud of, did go out to eat ate 8bits salad slice bread and 2oz of meat, 1/4 baked potato and was very full. Then 3 hours later snack with kids at movies with candy and popcorn and was in pain. I paid for that. So, with this I think we learn our lesson and keep learning until we start losing. This has been the toughest baddle of my life, Losing weight. I gotta give time and for my body to heal and ajust to this new life. I will see the scale move. YOU will see the scale move.

  17. u can ask me anything (about weight or the band of course...lol) and i'll give u a honest answer!!!!!!!! i don't sugar coat anything....so if u want me to b 100 with u don't get sensitive on me!!!!!! i no longer post threads or respond to threads...but i'm always here to answer ur ?'s ....support u....help u if i can...and make positive comments on how beautiful u all r...haters stay off my page please...i know u love what u see!!!! u won't admit it...its that jealousy!!!!!!! don't get it confused now!!!!!

  18. Hi momwifelove!

We are having our surgery on the same date! Isn't that cool? Maybe we could support each other and help out each other. What is your start weight? I'm 245. Where are you getting your surger? I'm getting it at the SWLC in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Are you worried about the surgery at all? I'm more worried about the pre-diet and stuff.

I wish you lots of luck!!!!

    Your Pal,

    Cammy

  19. The weekend was pretty okay! I actually went to Applebee's (shhhh). They have a Weight Watchers approved meal (4 points I think. Maybe 7.Either way I'm NOT doing WW) where the steak is 4 oz, which is exactly the size I need. Comes with steamed veggies (which I didnt touch. Because I thought the broccoli would be too much for me) and boiled potatoes. I just smooshed them with my fork to make "mashed" potatoes. Came with a brown sauce which I got on the side to dip the steak in to help it go down better. Everything was fine. And I felt like a normal person!! But I laughed so hard at the sight of a 4oz steak. It was puny!

  20. Hey Jeremy! Nice to meet you as well! I didn't see this post until today after you left one on mine. Things are going well, I see the doc tomorrow bc of some "drainage". Sick I know, but I guess there is no modesty or shame here really if we have all been through it. When were you banded? Hows the losing going? I have to get on my Wii Fit for them to yell at me and tell me that I am obese and then praise me for losing weight! It cracks me up. Pretty good work out though. TTYL, Take care, Meredith

  21. Hi hun, im getting banded on the 11th of august 09 by NHS... I finally got a date... My weight is 242 but im short 5'2 :(. Im hoping it works well on me.

Let me know how you doing, i hope you feeling great hun.

  22. Hey Kelly!!! I see that we are banding twins on the 8th, you know 8 is the number for new beginning. Welcome to your new beginning. I wish you great success in your weight loss.

  23. i can honestly say he has always treated me like a queen...but his love or feelings never changed with my weight loss...he doesnt love me or treat any different these days as he did when i had the weight on...he still looks at me the same exact way...and i appreciate that soooo much.

  24. I hope you get this too - I'm new at this too and have no idea what I'm doing just yet! :0)

I know what you mean about starving. I am sooooo hungry! I get to start on "regular" food today! YAY!!! No more mooshy food! I found that the mooshy stage was the hardest. I am so sick of tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, etc. Plus, I haven't lost weight like I would like to have. I had my surgery on June 10th and I've lost 20 lbs - only 3 lbs on the mooshy diet. I'm hoping it gets better once I can incorporate veggies in my diet. I can't wait to have some grilled chicken and brocolli! 6 months ago I would have said I couldn't wait to have a big fat pizza with some german chocolate cake afterwards! haha

  25. hi again !

Im actually past my goal weight. I started out at 243 and currently at 141. My goal weight was 165. After a couple of fills and unfills I am at adequate restriction. Its was a bumpy journey at times, but all well worth it. Good luck and don't give up, as the outcome is well rewarded.
