Hey All - Day 4 Post Op update - I got out into the sun today for about an hour and also walked a local museum. Eating a Bariatric Pal creamy soup for my main meal. I've been mostly hydrating with water and Power Ade. My tastes did change and I'm not a fan of my popsicles anymore and even my favorite PowerAde Flavor I'm not a fan of anymore. Otherwise, I did gain about 7 lbs from the fluids from surgery. I'm back down to my day of surgery weight. Also was worried that I was constipated but nope. (that's not TMI - apparently everyone wonder's when they will poop). Ha! 4 Days post-op but it did happen. Was kinda obsessing about food even though I wasn't hungry - I have very bizarre siblings who were texting pictures of our favorite family curries and what they were eating. We aren't very close - so not sure why they are choosing to do this now. Mean? Clueless? Dunno...but WOW. It did hurt my feelings. Just Why!?!? Anywho so that's why I decided to have a creamy soup to 'fill' me up. Otherwise, doing well. Not heavily fatigued at all. Will take a nap tho' in a bit just to heal. I've been wearing the compression belt non-stop. Have tomorrow and Tues off and then back to work on Wed. HUGS to all of you who have surgery tomorrow and who are doing the liquid diet! Wishing you all well!!!!

PCOS & Rupturing Cysts ALL THE TIME.
danieocean posted a topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hey there beautiful ladies! I hope everyone is well and happy on their weight loss journey. I had my surgery in October of 2018 and am down a total of 86 pounds so far, my goal is to hit 175 and start trying for a baby. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years back after I ruptured 3 large cysts and had a nasty infection in my belly. Since then, I've been coping with the diagnosis. And, at that point at least was given an understanding as why after trying to get pregnant for so long...I just wouldn't. I'm not the gal with PCOS who doesn't get a period, I get them irregularly and sometimes several times a month. I shown own stock in Tampax. Anywho...since the surgery I have been rupturing cyst after cyst. Last month I had one the size of a tennis ball rupture after trying to put the star on the top of our Christmas tree. FUN! TMI...sorry. It honestly feels like they're rupturing constantly and I'm super bloated. While my weight continues to drop (HALLELUJAH), my periods remain irregular and my belly just seems bigger. I'm thinking water weight. Then I'm conflicted...do I take a water pill? At the very same time, I don't want to run the risk of getting dehydrated. I'm rambling. OK, so after visiting my GYN, she told me that estrogen is stored in our fat and when we drop a lot of weight in a short amount of time, it dumps heaps of estrogen into our system. Causing me to form more cysts. I'm confused, I thought my fertility was supposed to sky rocket? Not make me a cyst factory! If you took the time to read this...thank you. I'm nearly 3 months post op and maybe slightly impatient, frustrated and hormonal. There's no one in my life I can relate to, and I just to be a mommy so desperately. Wondering if anyone had the same experience post-op and what your journey has been like. Hope everyone had a fantastic new year and a lovely holiday!!! ❤️ -
You're not asking a stupid question. And it's not TMI. Goddamnit, people depress me sometimes. First: when did you have surgery? Have you done coke before, and is this typical? Had you had alcohol since your surgery? Just based on the timing, I'd guess that you've got a stomach bug and that this isn't related to the drug use. Anyone vomiting for three days would feel ache in their stomach. Did you have a flu shot this year? Are you drinking a ton of Gatorade or Pedialyte to make up for the dehydration? If not, your symptoms are just going to feel worse. Even if this reaction has nothing to do with the coke or booze, you know that introducing a rogue element into a healing system isn't a good idea, obviously, and you'll be more careful in future. Good. Few things make me bristle with rage. Idiotic responses like this would be one of them. Her question was related to WLS, since she's concerned there's been an interaction between the drugs and the surgery. She's asking for help because she's worried. I am incredibly angry that your response was the first here, as it is worthless.

TMI seriously!! You should know the answer to that question better than anyone on this forum. Stupid is as Stupid does. SMH

Greetings all: Checking in with everyone - for those of you with dates in the first week of January. how are your liquid diets going ? The liquid diet hasn't been easy, but I think finally the caffeine headache kinda broke. I've just cleared the 300 mark. I haven't been under 300 in years. I know a lot of it's water weight but *still*! . I started out at 313 went up to 320 during the 6 mos diet and am now at 298. Woohoo!! Progress! Keeps me motivated. *That* and the popsicles! One thing - it looks like I'm going to be through this alone. A little emotional about that. My husband is going through gastro health issues and doesn't think he can stay with me at the hospital - he needs his own personal bathroom. We're all adults here talking medical stuff so I don't think I'm sharing TMI. Anyone else doing the same - doing this on your own? I feel very much alone as there is really no one else who can help me through this. I hope all of you are doing well!! Looking forward to hearing about everyone's journey! Jeanne

Warning TMI ahead! I haven't even had my surgery yet but I've been eating extremely clean for about two months now. No breads, rice or pasta. No added sugers. Meat only on the weekends. EVERY TIME I've taken a bite of something I shouldn't have *a bite of wife's crab roll last weekend, and a pulled mushroom sandwich on sourdough the week before that) I PEE FROM MY BOOTY! I can't believe my body has the nerve to dump already! Not really mad, because it was stuff I shouldn't have eaten anyway. 😝

I have had diarrhea starting the day after surgery. My first bout was when I was asleep in my hospital bed (TMI) and then later that day it happened again. GROSS!!!

I am starting to feel a little more grumpy. But I think part of it is the fact I'm so limited in what I can or cannot do. I want to clean my house, run my household, and be left alone to my own devices. But I have SO many people here right now. I also had two bowel movements (TMI, am I right?) today so I think I will keep taking the Miralax, but halve the amount because while it isn't diarrhea, it definitely wasn't solid.

Keto Diet with weight loss surgery - What are your thoughts about it?

Yeah, good reason not to waste your money on the sticks. So, TMI, but I smell different "down there" when I am in ketosis. Not bad, just different. -
Puking: Post-Op vs. Pre-Op
GettinSkinnywithit replied to 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
So preop my vomits, were monumental. Actually bruised my throat once and one time it was so forceful it sprayed down when it hit the back of my front teeth. I know tmi but now, one month post op I’ve had two episodes. Last week I ate one two many bites of mashed potatoes and thank god I was next to the sink. It’s weird it’s a foamy frothy mess and it came up quick. Second time was yesterday at work pot luck lunch. My biggest fear post op is a work episode from either end. I was good and fine but an hour later wandered into the kitchen and ate two Chick-fil-A nuggets and one mini corn dog nugget looking thing. I thought I could make it throw the breading - nope! I felt the chest pain and left to walk around outside. Fortunately there is a Park next door. Waking wasn’t helping and I knew it was coming up quick so I dove behind a bush stop for one step let her rip and kept waking. I don’t think anyone noticed or even heard. I’ve also been lucky that the other end issue has only been constipation twice and not at work. I’m not a work pooper - in fact Home Depot has clean restrooms five minutes away - so I’ve been lucky there. My stuff smelled way worse preop! -
Okay so I FEEl like I really need to poop but I just can't and I feel like its making my pain 10x worse than it was before is there anything other than walking that could help? I say other than walking because when I walk (TMI warning) I feel like I'm going to poop myself but I go to the toilet to let myself poop and NOTHING comes out just a reminder I'm only 1-day post op.

Food Before and After Photos
Grapefruit replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey guys! Dinner tonight, 3oz filet mignon and 1/3 cup of peas. TMI but, before this surgery, I couldn’t eat much steak. I would consider myself lucky if I went to the bathroom once a week. 10 days would be unbearable. After surgery this all changed, so I’m able to enjoy a steak now and then. I’m much better at #2 now, thanks for asking. 🤣 PS. I had my 2 month post op check up and lost 30% of weight... that’s above average at 20%. Woohoo! Probably all that poop-weight. Ok I’m done. Lol -
I had a dumping episode in my car once when I FOOLISHLY bought a Mocha and an apple (and a small can of Pringles, hands up, I'll confess) in a moment of weakness, which led to sliming and throwing up mouthfuls of chewed apple and Pringles. Soz TMI. I hadn't eaten lunch, I was on my way to give a lecture so I knew I wouldn't be home for ages and so in a moment of crazy weakness I stopped at the servo. I bought an apple (pre-surgery it would have been chocolate) and thought 'how bad can a Mocha be? It's basically coffee with a little bit of chocolate'). How wrong I was! I ate the apple and, I'm ashamed to say, the Pringles and they were fine. Then I started drinking the Mocha. Made it all the way through and then started to feel AWFUL. I was in a car on a motorway and couldn't stop w/o being late for my lecture. So the sliming (gross saliva) started and I was throwing it up into the Mocha cup, one hand on the wheel. Luckily it was in small quantities but I reckon I filled half of the Mocha Cup. But I was very quiet and discreet in the car so, its not like regular vomiting. I have never done this before and I will NEVER do it again. No more Pringles and mochas for this girl. Sometimes ya gotta learn the hard way. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Hey everyone! I see there are some great victories being posted, I am officially 50lbs down from my highest weight!! so I wanted to share with everyone too! Congrats to everyone on their personal victories as well. How is everyone doing? I am still in soft foods, but loving this stage, I am getting in a lot more protein, but need to figure out how to get space for the carbs? I did start coffee again, many of you already know my TMI issues and to be honest halfway through the cup of coffee I was in the bathroom and it was glorious, so small cup is what I am drinking and add in an extra glass of water to compensate for dehydration effects... miralax stopped working, I see my Dr next week and hopefully we can brainstorm a bit together. I am also hoping to get cleared to do a bit more activity... next week. I could stay in the stage forever lol. hope you are all doing well!

is it a fart... nope, it's poop, adult diapers, really?
Mrs.Cartwill replied to HYCIERRA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not at pooping bed or diaper stage thankfully, but I have been chronically constipated my entire life. I am in week 3 post-op and suddenly I have to RUN to the bathroom. I’m a bit raw (I know... TMI) maybe it’s the milk I’m adding to my shakes?? -
Hey ty for the heads up there are no tmis here lol more education the better Sent from my 5049Z using BariatricPal mobile app

I’m not gonna lie - the immediate aftermath wasn’t the most fun I’ve ever had. But I felt pretty good fairly quickly. My one piece of (very TMI) advice - stay ahead of constipation if you have it. That was my most unpleasant side effect.

I went to Wal-Mart today and found the coconut water PROTEIN 2o drinks. While they are delicious, I've noticed that there is a weird. . . slimy texture in my mouth afterwards? TMI (and a little gross) its almost like a loogie. Anyone else experience this?

Not only do I share a house with my husband, but this cold too. My surgery is December 12 and I got sick two days ago. Though, in hindsight, I could see it a mile away. I thought it was just "allergies," but I was naive then. When I was at work and my throat started to hurt, I knew something was up. The next day I was fatigued and my throat hurt badly, so I stayed home and slept it off. Since then I've returned to work and am currently dealing with mild-moderate cold symptoms (post nasal drip, productive cough to rid my throat of the stuff gathering there, a bit sniffly) but definitely not feverish and the mucus (TMI) is nice and clear for right now. I told my surgeon's nurse and she advised that as long as I am not running a fever, or hacking up green mucus, I'm in the clear. I'll be elevated during surgery and post-op. But I'd rather have the most mild of symptoms during my surgery and while I have a few days to get well, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to make sure my lungs are nice and clear for the surgery? Mind you, I'm drinking PLENTY of liquids. Salt water gargle rinses. And trying to get as much sleep as I can. I wash my hands constantly. I've also been taking DAYQUIL as the go-ahead from my nurse.

1 week learning curve / drinking to fast
mousecat88 replied to Susieclues's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Some TMI - 2 weeks after surgery I was really dehydrated and having trouble drinking because of a then-undiagnosed ulcer. But I was like WHATEVER I NEED WATER at one point and drank about 30 oz in 20 min. SURPRISE DIARRHEA. Fun times. But now, at 5 weeks, if I take a few gulps it feels a little uncomfortable. Sometimes I have to take a bigger gulp than I intended because a pill doesn't go down right or something. Or I exercise and I *need* more than a tiny sip. It's uncomfortable, but passes fast. Not something to be in the habit of, though. -
Huge influx of random flirting
sideeye replied to Polymorphing's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Possibly TMI-ing the hell out of the thread on this one, but I went to a national industry event recently and had an amazing hookup experience with a guy I met there. Body-positive feminist from the drop and just incredibly affirming the whole time (and also damn attractive and volunteered the term “enthusiastic consent” in conversation unprompted). I’ve been pretty conscious of my body for about a decade now, and the entire experience was fabulous. No shyness, no “demure” instinct to cover up when it’s actually just hiding. No trying for “flattering” positioning or lighting. No searching for the hotel robe and hoping it fits. I’ve lost around 90lbs so far, last time I was 20lbs above this weight I had the negative experience of guys suddenly catcalling me and just outing themselves as superficial assholes. It made me feel furious and cheap and like I wanted to live at the bottom of the sea. I don’t know if the way I carry myself has changed as well (or the five years makes a difference), but this time round I’m able to avoid most of the crappy experiences. And obviously hit the damn validation lottery with this last guy. (...also the nonstop shagging knocked off a few more pounds, bringing me within a whisper of onederland, so hooray for aerobics.) -
No the protocol here is to stay two nights as standard. Which suits me as I was in no shape to go anywhere this morning. Still cant believe how much better I am today. Gas pain is no joke. Also had a litte gas out the back end which is also kind of a victory.. tmi I know but there yah go.

As far as your TMI question, it was a full WEEK for me. I started drinking Miralax at day 5 and had to do that for a couple of days. Just a warning, this issue can continue longer than immediately post-op. I've never had a problem with this at all but I'm 3.5 weeks post-op and I've had to take Miralax seeeeeveral times.

I’m 3 days post op and I feel surprisingly good. Premier Protein shakes are still a little harder to get down than my Powerade zero and water but it’s improving. This may be TMI but when did everyone finally had a BM. Should I go ahead and take Milk of Mag or wait???

Rocking the pre OP look! My surgery was Monday, as well. Nausea and gas pain was horrible. The pain boosted my blood pressure sky-high and messed with blood sugars. Lots of injections. Day 3 and I'm home. Finally passing gas.....tmi....i never thought I'd be so excited about this. Sipping water and diluted apple juice. Walking during commercials in the Hallmark Christmas movies 🎅. Congratulations to you! This is a big commitment to better health (And regular sized clothes) and a helpful opportunity.
