Great NSV! I'm wishing Kaleigh luck!!

Every year at Christmas just like everyone else we have the same things. Tonight after not eating anything all day except for ceral I went to my Mom and Dad's for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. There was Turkey, dressing, ham, sweet potatoes, corn, mashed potatoes, vegall casserole, mac and cheese, greenbeans, slaw, hasbrown casserole, pies, cakes, puddings, salads, everything, and since this is my first Christmas with my band this is what I ate: 1 small piece of ham 1 bite of vegall casserole 1/2 piece of chocolate pie I could have never done this before but just wasn't hungry. I thank God for my band.

The other day at work a woman who I hadn't seen in months walked right past me and then came back and said hi and that she didn't even recognize me at first! Then today at a family BBQ everyone made it a point to tell me how great I looked! Down 110 pounds in 4.5 months The weight loss is slowing down... And I've encountered a few stalls... I think three. But I've gotten through them Silly me at today's BBQ I had like 8 ritz crackers and a spoonful of relish and three chunks of pineapple. I thought I was fine... But I ended up in the bathroom for a little... Note to self... Don't mess with crackers or pineapple again! But all in all a good day

Great NSVs! Congratulations on losing 110 pounds, that's incredible! Sorry about your cracker/pineapple experience. I hate when that happens.
-
Becky, those are wonderful NSV's, and you are having so many of them, how exciting! I think the NSV's are just as great as the SV's.
-
Becky Congrats on doing so well. I love NSV's. They make transitioning from big to small a lot easier. How are fills coming? I've had two and would like to avoid another until I have lost at least 10 more pounds. (I hate the transition). Not to mention--I get stuck fairly often--and yet sometimes I can eat anything. Guess stress is my tightener.

So I’ve been avoiding buying new clothes for as long as possible but today I have to go to the mall because I have decided I need new jeans. Last night at Orlando City’s home opener against DC United (MLS Soccer) we scored the equalizer in the last few minutes of the game and the supporter section went crazy. I went crazy. I high fived. I screamed. I jumped. And when I jumped... my pants fell off. [emoji23] A little “behind” show for the folks behind me! Luckily I was wearing cute undies and they were going as crazy as I was. Anyway, NSV, New Pants, Yay! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Now to find the healthy stadium food options...

Today, I went to a friends job to pick up some cosmetics she ordered me. She works @ St. Vincent's Medical Center, which sits on a hill & had notoriously crappy parking. So after I finally weddgie my big 'ol truck into a teeny tiny space at the bottom of the hill, I headed up to the main hospital...that's when it hit me...the last time I was at this hospital, I was attending the first of many weight loss seminars, and I remember nearly passing out trying to walk up the hill And here I am, 14 weeks post sleeve today, down 70 lbs and I breezed up that hill without a pause! I wasn't even breathing hard when I got to the top! Tiny Sleevie has made the impossible possible & I am sooo blessed to be on this journey. I would do it all over again without a moment's hesitation! I feel wonderful...and yes, I'm looking pretty darn rockin' good these days! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Why my 3mo stall is an NSV and other misc. ramblings from the half glass full girl!
newat52 replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Right there with you girl! I have been stuck for almost 2 months. I've eeked out about 3 lost in that time but usually the same up and down. Although, I've been on vacation twice in the 2 months for a week at at time so there were some splurges. Not on really bad things like bread, Pasta, and processed carbs ( it's my promise to my self to not go there till the end of the year) but on some wine and skinny girl margaritas so I can get the stall from that respect. However, the inches are still coming off. my 12 shorts are getting looser and have tried on 10's but won't buy them. Although short season here in Texas lasts till Oct. but that's only another month and I do get a cheap thrill out of jacking up my britches from time to time. I'm easily amused that way. My closet is getting emptier by the day and I love it! I look forward to when I get to my goal and fill it back up with cute and stylish clothes. Black will no longer be the mainstay of my color pallet. I will have a little black dress though! I am making excellent choices most of the time and It is becoming a natural thing to do. That is the NSV for me. Ice cream? Not even tempted, the way I feel now feels WAY better than ice cream. Last week I'm on the plane on the way home, sitting there playing the the huge extra amount of seat belt material, who know it could be so entertaining? Later in the flight, I realize I am sitting with my legs crossed WITH the tray table down! How freaking cool is that? I didn't even know that was possible! I honestly have ZERO regrets and yes, we are still on the honeymoon and I fully realize the hard work really kicks in when we get to goal and have to maintain for the rest of our lives. I'm sure I will moan and complain from time to time, but I am 100% sure it will be worth the work! I'm SO happy for you and I know exactly how you feel! -
Went potty in regular stall, not handicapped! Those handicapped stalls are so nice and roomy. (I don't feel bad about using the handicapped stall at work, no one uses them here) :clap2:

Cheers To Us! What Was Your Most Recent Nsv?
cludgie replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A much needed topic! Not bad for recent NSVs; *I did my first fun run yesterday * I bought, and fit in a pair of uk 10 (us size 6) jeans - ok so they are stretchy ones, but still... * My neighbor of 9 years saw me at a work do, and after talking for 10 minutes finally realised who I was (her mum tells me she got home and asked " what happened to Claire???") lol * My DH and I had a major fall out yesterday (not good), about a female colleague of his who stalks after him Grr, HOWEVER when we calmed down enough to talk, he apologised, and said he thought I'd know she could never mean anything to me, because he has never looked at anyone else, and thought I might believe in myself now I have achieved such a personal transformation! *I have a photo of my daughter and I, in which I look THIN, seriously, wtf? Not even average, thin! Never expected that in a million years!! I totally <3 my sleeve xx -

I'm looking through the topics today, and it seems like a lot of people are having some tough days lately. I thought maybe we all could take a moment to look at the happiness that our sleeve's have brought us. For me, my energy is through the roof. Well maybe not right at this instant, but I can sustain energy much longer and do SO much more on the weekends. How about you? Share something that has made you so proud of yourself lately? -
Congratulations, froggy. Weight loss is wonderful, isn't it? I remember how excited I felt when I could fit into size 16s without the W! Over the years as I got fatter and fatter I had to give away clothes that I loved; now I am doing the same thing all over again but in reverse. My last big NSV was discovering that I can wear belts! Another thing to shop for. Oh goody!

Welcome to our very exclusive club, Laura!! You have a most impressive list of NSV's here. I wish I could say that I am in control of food, instead of the other way around. But for me, without my band, the food would still rule - without a doubt. I'm glad you're feeling so much better. And Bones!! I love it that you and your husband can feel bones now. That's one of my favorites, too. Thanks so much for posting these. It helps us realize just how much we're ahead since being banded. Good Job and Good Luck!

AWESOME! GREAT NSV! I had 2 tubs of clothing from skinnier days tucked away in the attic...to my dismay, the lids to the tubs came loose evidently from getting too hot and too cold up in the attic and mice found their way to them. Result...very holely clothing Did a complete attic clean and set some traps, but that won't bring my clothes back

Medical Bracelets
ProudGrammy replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hello stacey nicole I am wear a medical bracelet NSV. IMO, i don't think it would be necessary to wear any type of bracelet signfying a "medical condition" of WLS - if you are at a restaurant, and they question you about using a childs portion, you can just give them some sort of explanation if you feel its warrented - but if you are rushed to the hospital for whatever - have had WLS shouldn't be reletive to any procedures. If all is well, and you just have to mention certain medical conditions - then yes "by the way" I have had WLS. kathy -

It's All About Perspective (& Slow Loss Is A Success)...
Pookeyism posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When it seems like I am not losing, or losing too slow. I know why, however, and I know now, understand now more than I ever did - why this surgery is so invaluable. I have issues with my metabolism that is quickly regulates to whatever calories I am putting in...and it gets very hard to trick it...My sis ter was the same but instead of the furnace banking itself, hers burned red-hot. At one point she ate 4800 callories a day and was still a size 0. We both caught a very bad flu once, I lost 15 lbs and was getting "you gos!", she lost 15 and was in the hospital. I need not trick it anymore - there is no feeling of being desperate to lose before I fail on my diet. I ma waiting out my metabolism, and winning. I finally decided on the surgery because I had lost just enough weight (from 1/2011 till 10/2011) that they could see the cause of my issues with my stomach – I had a tumor growing in/through/ and progressing out into my abdomen from my stomach. So since I was going to have to have so much removed anyway, and I HAD been looking into one WLS or another for a decade (lol), I decided it was time. Sleeved 1/2012 – will never go back to what I was, ever. The fat lady syndrome doesn’t help slow losing, I just have to remember to not let it get me. – I still am not “seeing” myself at the size I was (almost) not the size I am. That isn’t helpful at all! But I look at my NSV’s – and they are real. Squeezing into a size 12 recently made me dizzy and nauseous…not because I squeezed into the jeans, it occurred to me I could button size 12’s. I asked a lady I know (as politely as I could, but she is so nice I hope she understood) what size she was, because I was asked by a friend to “find” someone I thought I was the same size as myself, near my height. She is a size 20-22. I am a size 14, squeezing into a 12, and I see myself as a size 20-22. It's all good, however - I now have the equipment to play this game, and I win. -
You seem to really read my mind! I notice that, when I am not with a group of people even for a day, they always ask how I'm doing. If I say too much I get the "eyes glazing over" situation as well. I'm going to try to follow your lead. Congrats on your NSVs! I know it might be hard for you to see, but you aren't fat anymore! At all!!!
