The night is quiet when a lone fart breaks the silence, a few minutes later you hear another one. I turn to my hubby and tell him it's almost as if they are answering each other.. He is my NSV!!!

I've gone from wearing a size 3 in tights/stockings to a size 1. Not since infanthood have I worn anything with a 1 that wasn't followed by a couple of X's. LOL

Nice NSV!!!! I'm glad you got the "you don't need to lose anymore weight" comment. I know it had to be one heck of a feeling!!! -

How are my Dec 19th sleevers doing?
Mich129 replied to ualaw08's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I took a leap of faith today. I purged my closet of the largest sized clothing (26). I decided to do it considering the weight I've lost already and that since returning to work I experimented with wearing some blouses that had gotten too tight. It was definitely my first NSV. -

I can't wait for that moment! I can't even remember the last time I could cross my legs comfortably. It's gotta be more than 10 years. Congrats on that awesome NSV!! -
Yup this little girl was the deciding reason why I chose to do this to myself....So I could be there when she grew up hopefully and hold her this close to me and experience the true a true lasting close hug from her...It is one of the most enjoyable NSV for me so far...What was yours?

That has got to be the best NSV ever.

I'm with you guys. My surgery was 12/31. I'm bored & hungry. I'm trying to stay positive but it's tough. It really helps me to look at before & after pics and to read NSV's. We'll get through this.

NSV in ANY language is a WIN!!!!! Congratulations & thanks for the story

I cab from the train station to the office and most of the regular cabbies know me pretty well. So yesterday I got into the cab and since I've been out a lot because of the hip replacement surgery, the driver hadn't seen me in a while. English is not his first language so I have to remember that he meant it as a compliment when he told me that I was skinny now and not big fat any more. What could I say except thank you... LOL.

Hello everyone, glad to see there a still a few familiar names around. It took me a few months but finally got the new app on my phone. It seems as of everyone is doing well and hitting those milestones both on and of the scale. Congrats everyone. I reached onederland in November and am 1 pound away from 100 lost. It feels really good :-). The nsv's are also lots of fun. Some examples are: going horseback riding and getting on and of by myself shopping in regular stores (although it was really hard at first, I walked out of many stores because I was so intimidated and didn't know where to start! ) much more energy joints that don't hurt first pair of knee high boots much lighter suitcase when going on holiday buying a really cute sun dress off a vendor on the beach That's about it for now. Keep up the good work.

Denise, I woke up this morning all excited to read about your date...sorry it sucked. Why did he lie about his height??? Ummm, hello, it's not as if you weren't going to find out once you met him. I just don't get that. Anyway, on to the next one. Florinda, your pics look great. I went and looked at your before and after...wow! You look amazing! Exciting about the scale. I'm sure it's a loss, not a messed up scale. You must have found something that worked for your body. Brown, thanks for checking in. I love your words of wisdom on this board! Always makes me smile. Kim, you are in the big leagues now!!! What a great NSV! Love it. Also love the bird pics. Sheryl, I agree the emotions hurt more now than they did when I was obese. I there are a couple reasons for it. When I was heavy I would eat and eat to cover them and kept it up so I wouldn't really feel them. Now, I try not to do that. Also, for me, I am trying to better myself now so I need to actually feel these things and learn to get past them. I don't know if that makes sense or not. I'm fine with Queen coming in. She's probably going to be laughing to herself when she reads all of our comments about her before she was even here. lol Denise, I agree, with deleting the ones who have not posted here and are no longer doing 5:2. Saturday, big birthday day over here for my 14 year old! I love this boy so much. He is my strong willed child. When I first had him, I didn't know what to expect with a boy. Never had brothers and his sister was born first so I didn't know what to do with a boy. A strong willed boy on top of it. I remember the days when he was little and I would go to bed in tears sometimes because it seemed like a constant struggle with him. He was on the go from the time he got up till the time he went to bed. Always something with him. Now, he has learned to use a lot of that strong will for good. I knew that would happen one day, and over the years it has. He still thinks he's right about every single thing and he still drives me crazy. But, oh, how I love this boy! He is growing into such a fine young man before my eyes. He is so very smart, always has been. He is kind, caring, and loving. It's been interesting this last year, a lot of changes since he has become a teenager. I am proud of him! Let me just share one story with you and I will stop. In the beginning of December when the hubs and I went to Arizona, my mom watched the boys for us. One night I got a phone call from my mom. She said, "Guess what Tyler did tonight?". She told me that she dropped him off for a band concert that night. She came back a little while later to watch the concert and when she got there all of the seating was taken. It was standing room only, it was packed. She found a place to stand where she could see him. A few minutes later Tyler's band teacher came up to her with a chair. She said, "Your grandson asked me to give you this chair. He said he was concerned about you having to stand through the whole concert.". My mom was so proud, she had to call and let us know. That story right there pretty much sums up Tyler! I hear him walking around now so I am going to go give my birthday boy a hug! Happy Saturday Ladies!

How was your 5:2 day today?
feedyoureye replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi ladies, Sarsar, sorry things are rough right now... I'm sure things will look up soon for you. I took my little doggie out today for a bird watching trip... a lot of it was car bird watching... which is really good, it doesn't scare the birds off as much a walking around. (we did walk around too, but not so much for birdwatching) I got lots of pics. Ill post a couple. It just makes me feel so good and relaxed when I go out birdwatching... its so beautiful in nature, and there are so many birds out there right now.. I saw flocks and flocks of swans today... really cool. I also think I might have had a break in my "art block" I have had a really hard time feeling up to making art lately... really for around 6 months or so... just not me... but a couple of things just set a spark in me today... I hope I can get the mojo back! Great NSV today too, I went to dance class and there are two tiny, sporty girls there that have been coming to class for maybe 3-4 months now, really nice and committed to the class....much younger than me... anyway today they were saying how the class is kicking their butts, and it is so hard, even their hands hurt! And they are trying to get one of the trainers to come and try the class and how it will kick his butt too.... I told them I had lost 91 pounds while taking the class, and they about fell on the floor. The class really works you, but it does not kick my a$$ any more... I just do it....(with a little grace I might add) and to think that these two sporty, hiking, rock climbing, bike riding girls are getting beat up by the same workout I do.... it just blows my mind! I know the stuff they do would kill me too... different set of muscles... but It makes me really proud, because I have never thought of myself as "sporty" and here I am... in the big leagues! I always liked QOC, she seems like a great adventuresome lady... I say yes if the rest of you agree. Laura!!!!! Come look at my bird photos! Then post a <3 because I know you'll love them! -
Over 300 pounds, when did you notice a difference?
Kiap82 replied to Kiap82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm looking forward to all of these things. I'm just so impatient. I should be happy that I've started the journey and the rest will come. I've already changed so much. I quit smoking, kicked my carb craving, decided to leave the job I hate for the one I really want even though it's less money, I'm tracking all of my food, not letting my sometimes boyfriend upset/mistreat me anymore, and soon I'm moving back to Texas where I really want to be. All within the last month. If I can add patience to this list, 2014 will really be the year of the NSV and SV for me. -

I had many NSVs but it wasn't until about 10 months out that I felt significantly smaller. Even now, everyone sees me as thin but I still feel like I could lose about 30 more pounds. The mind is a funny thing! -
Over 300 pounds, when did you notice a difference?
E2013 replied to Kiap82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am three weeks out. I started at 321, was 280 day of surgery. Yesterday I was 265. So I have lost 56 lbs. this week a lot of people have made comments about how I've lost weight, they can mostly tell in my face. In Sept I bought a couple 2x men's Tshirts, I had to stretch them out when I wore them, and constantly pull on them as I go. Huge NSV, two weeks ago I didn't have to stretch them out! Now they are really big on me! That's the biggest difference I've noticed. I'm still wearing yoga pants daily as they are most comfortable during this time of healing, so my clothing size hasn't changed (yet!) -

The first time I was on a plane that I did not need an extender was in Nov...i had my hubby take a pic...so I would have it..The table fit too..I always shared his when we were on a plane.. I was hurting my back driving my car and was told to pull the seat up...I always had the seat the farthest out and now it is the closest you can get....My hubby and I war over that now..... I sat in the tiniest booth a couple of weeks ago..I always surveyed a restaurant to see if they had tables and chairs and left if they only had booths.....So many changes...So many amazing NSV.....I could never even count them all -

I finally felt thinner, the first time I could tuck my shirt in and didn't have to worry about pulling the tail out when I raised my arms above my head! :-P I started out at 374, I could see the lbs falling when I got on the scale, but it wasn't until I started having NSV's like: having to adjust my car seat closer to the steering wheel, realizing I could cross my legs without having to use my hand to assist getting my leg in place, buckling my seat belt without having to pull the belt all the way out to reach the buckle, and when I realized I had started bending over to put on my shoes instead of having to sit on the bed to get my foot close enough to my hands.
