  1. I wish I could do that sometimes, but it seems like since I've had surgery I can't seem to throw up. I know it's tmi but I gag just nothing will come up
  2. First night at home was a challenge. So for stuck with this drain tube, and my stomach is super sore. Tried so many ways to get comfortable in my bed , fail number 1 : my bed is high off the floor and my short self needs help to get on . My husband has literally grab my ass checks and put me in the bed and gently as possible. Tried to put all these pillow and folded blankets around me to get myself comfy , woke up in pain at 130am. Fail 2 hubby said ton wake him to help me move or potty. What he do .. zzzzzzz. So I screamed at my teenager to come help and he did .. walked in the restroom and keep the door slightly opened so he can still reach me , but I wanted to close it and he saw (tmi) my tampon wrapper and asked ,mom u started your period too ?!, I sure did started my period _ perfect timing fail 3.. now I'm sitting in my recliner with my back super sore and stomach sore and trying to burp or far whichever comes out first .. and my 5 yr old wants to watch batman. Took half a dose of my pain meds and sipping on my protein shake ..

    I never feel full...

I'm not sure what I feel. This is an important topic for me. I am beginning my third week. Last week I had a horrible situation...probably dumping... but it was like 2.5 days of torture. Yesterday (TMI) I had the most painful BM I've ever had in the morning and then some residual looser stool in the evening. But I "think" I'm hungry. I get that "hunger" feeling. I eat then.. and feel better. I too am trying to only eat what I'm told. Quarter cup.... I have lost 14lbs since surgery - and the last 2 days...NOTHING. I even went up yesterday and back down today. Tell me what you all eat? What is your schedule like? Thanks so much!

    Sex talk warning

It's very interesting how many aspects of life the sleeve changes. I was sleeved almost 7 weeks ago and for the last 2 weeks all I want to do is make love to my man! I'm insatiable!!! And I haven't been like this for a long time and I DON'T want this to end! Lol Sorry if that is TMI, but it's just nice to want to be intimate more than once a week.

    Constipation

I am having this problem also and I have never before had this issue in 53 years of life! I never knew how lucky I was. It's really miserable trying to pass a few stones only to have so many left in there making you feel uncomfortable! LOL Sorry for the TMI. I now know what people are complaining about that have this problem on an ongoing basis. I am going to try some of the things on this list. I can't eat prunes yet but I am sure I can have prune juice. I am also trying fiber one cereal. I drink plenty of water and have added the powder fiber stuff but it isn't helping. Good luck to all my fellow sufferers!
  7. So after a disappointing 2 pound week I decided to call my nutritionist yesterday and find out what I can do to ensure a bigger loss this week and she asked me to hold off a day and get back on the scale this morning. I didn't know why but she said to wait until I had a (tmi moment) bowel movement. I only go about 1X a week so I I waited and voila I lost 6 pounds!! I know it wasn't all waste but she was sooooo right and I am so grateful she said get on again. I know te scale shouldn't be everything but this time it really means a lot!

    finally had my surgery!!

Mine is called "pour off the spoon" diet. No lumps no bumps but I can eat anything that purees and falls off a spoon. So brothy soups pureed. Baby foods. I had two nutritionist, the Dr, the drs assistant, and the lap band mentor tell me this. I only had to be on liquids for 24 hours after being home. So one day on, then surgery day, then all the next day until noon the following day. Everything's gone down well and please be aware....tmi coming....I have already had a bowel movement. Yay lol

    Strong meds vs. small stomach

I agree about the lortab. It made me so sick so they finally had to give me Norco crushed up. But this weekend I was a bit stopped up so I took 2 colace tablets and whoa!! Then they kicked in, I felt so nauseous, I thought I had the flu. Then all of a sudden I had to go to the bathroom and needless to say, Im not stopped up any longer (sorry for the TMI). I dont know if taking the normal recommended amount was a good idea. Did the trick but it felt like crap (excuse the pun).

    11/30 Sleevers?

I have tried gas x and they seem to help with the gas and bloating. I am going to try some milk of magnesia tonight bc I have yet to go to the bathroom. (TMI ???? sorry)
  11. This is a great topic. Last Wednesday I had a horrible experience that made me really sick. I had a HA so I decided to take a Tylenol with cod #4. I ate something before I took it. I ended up with a horrible pain in my stomach that worked itself down towards my intestines, which were already achy. I got a sensation to go throw it up. I went into the bathroom an sat down and my head started whirling. I passed out onto the floor and ended up vomiting and diarrhea at the same time. Scared the He** out of my family and myself. I was sick for 2 days. I seldom ever throw up. I've always taken 2 tylenol with cod #4 with no ill effects. So now I will avoid Tylenol with Cod #4 due to it could have been an overdose. So we really need to be proactive when getting prescriptions from our PCP's because they sometimes don't realize the effects of meds. And I will not take any NSAIDS due to this reaction. Sorry if there was TMI. This is such a learning experience.

    Overweight Family/friends

Likasulema, Lol you make me giggle :-) its not TMI, we are all adults here! The fact of the matter is that the better you feel as in knees, back etc... The more exciting and pleasurable the experience is between husband and wife, there's nothing shameful about that! I personally am excited to get back to my old sex drive because the more weight I gained and the more exhausted I stayed and the more self conscious I got the more it affected that experience between us. Good luck to you!!
  15. Nope, no stress. I'm not sure what's up. I talked to doctor last week, I have an enlarged uterus so possibly fibroid. And if it is, they can cause constipation. Fingers crossed I get answers Friday. Going for testing. I have been having to -tmi warning- manually remove stool for weeks now.
  16. I'm on the protein only phase and I've been doing great with that and my water but today... today I was starving. I ate very 1.5 hours, sometimes every hour. I didn't eat much as I can't handle more than a few ounces but I can't believe how hungry I was. I have been burning more calories at the gym and it is that time of the month (TMI, sorry), but could that be it? This is the first day where I want to eat and eat and eat! On the bright side, I made good choices and didn't eat carbs or bad foods. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

    Intolerance Vs. Dumping?

I couldn't do even Lactaid, so introduce it slowly if you use it, and Immodium only made me feel worse (horrible gas pains), so whatever you try do it in moderation and be careful until you know how you'll react. I do soy milk and it's great. I was fine for a few weeks post op, or at least I didn't put two and two together until I was on purees and soft foods. Then it hit me and I had to cut out all of my dairy for a while. For the longest time I could only tolerate hard cheeses in very small portions. For me the symptoms were very painful (and TMI, but horribly stinky) gas, all-day nausea if I consumed dairy, a rumbling belly and of course, the diarrhea. I had to switch Protein shakes, cut out all dairy except small portions of hard cheeses and move to soy milk. Around one year out I started trying dairy again and found that cheese wasn't much of a problem. I'll be two years out in a few weeks and I can now eat most dairy in moderation. I can have one or two servings a day but I still cannot drink any milk. So, I can have a splash of cream in my coffee and be okay, and have one serving of yogurt but if I have any more dairy that day I'll be sick. I live somewhere I can't find cottage cheese but I'm definitely trying that again as soon as I'm stateside. So even if it is lactose intolerance there's a good chance you'll won't be saying goodbye to all dairy forever. ~Cheri
  18. I too was sleeved on the 9th and since surgery I have lost 11lbs like you. I lost some on the pre op diet so I am happy with my total loss so far. What I am most pleased about is that I have broken the triple digit mark (I now weigh less than 100kg!! and am only in double digits - btw I live in Australia I know what you mean about being so busy, or maybe too busy, my kids are aged 10, 3 and 11 months. I only just went back to work today after surgery but cant complain having had such a good break/recovery. My 10 yr old and my biggest child (husband) have been super helpful, so that has taken the pressure off. But picking up my 3 yr is hard, he is too big and heavy so soon after surgery. I am a total shocker when it comes to the scales as I weigh daily - although there isnt a loss every day, it is consistently going down. The scale and I are friends now cos its going down as opposed to only ever going up. I think though, if you're experiencing incision pain, that's definitely a cue that you need to take it a little bit easier on yourself. Take care and all the best on your journey! That's awesome you have lost the same as me! I have actually seen the scale go up and pound or two but then it drops back down. It is devastating when that happens and it freaks me out! I have decided to not weigh myself until Friday! I will become obsessed if I weigh in every day and don't see it move.. argh! I think part of my weight "gain" here and there is also because I am having trouble with constipation. TMI perhaps but it's apart of life, especially after WLS. Miralax is becoming an every day thing for me! I think some is Water retention too as I haven't been getting in 64 ounces each day. I didn't really get that in before surgery! I've never been a big drinker of anything so it is work for me to get that in!!
  19. @@Quest4TheNewMe I'm sorry. I understand what you mean. American culture nowadays is so much TMI, so much everything out there, that it makes it hard for people to simply want to get on with their lives.
  20. Ok, I had my first fill a week ago. Today I have diarreah. So I haven't eaten much. Drank a purple gatorade this morning. Then I notice my diarreah has been bright greenish blue for the rest of the day. Ok, I thought it was the gatorade - then I remembered someone saying that the saline was blue in color. Now I'm kinda worried. Could something be wrong with my band? Has anyone ever experienced this?
  21. I used to have a lot of issues pre surgery that seems to have been replaced by new (more tolerable) problems. I have somewhat frequent upper esophagus gas that causes a little discomfort. This is mostly in the morning. Burping helps a lot and my doctor says this should go away soon. (TMI ALERT) BMs are not the volume they used to be. Since I'm eating less I guess this can be expected. I get nicely formed logs (I'm told this is a good thing). However, I have to make sure to get enough Fiber (Metamucil twice a day) or it feels like I'm pushing out a tree - very difficult to get started and to keep pushing out. I imagine most of you know what happens if you push too hard so I'll spare you that. I wake up with A LOT of gas. I believe this is mostly because I'm still using a CPAP machine. Good thing is that I'm far enough out that I can trust farts.
  22. I noticed that since my surgery my menstrual appears to be regulating compared to pre surgery were I would get my menstrual ever 60+ days if I was lucky. The first week I dropped 12lbs and my menstrual came on shortly after. Since then I lost additional weight and this morning my menstrual came on again, making it a 29 day long cycle, which is considered normal. It's still early to indefinitely say, but I will be tracking it the next few months to see if their is a trend. Anyone else every experience irregular periods pre op and regulate post op? Please comment
  23. I had my surgery on 09/10/2012. I know that I should not be weighing myself but I have and on Saturday I had lost a total of 22 lbs but today I gained 4 of those back. I know this may be TMI but I have not had a bowel since Saturday either. I got really sick on Friday and am finally feeling better...so maybe that is why. I can now work out again since I am not sick but I have a question. Last night I had my one planned cheat and had a piece of pizza. The doctor told me I was 'following the diet too closely which made me sick' I am not sure how this is possible but she said I simply bottomed out...doesn't make sense but I introduced some carbs like she said. So now here I am ate a piece of pizza...feel like I stuffed myself although it was probably 5 oz and am now feeling bad since I have gained 4 lbs back. Is this how this is going to be all the time? Up and down? I introduced carbs because I was directed too but was doing so well on their specific diet, although it was a bit hard. I also ate today (three meals) one with carbs and one only protein and feel bloated. What scares me the most is that I ate a meal at 5pm and then was hungry again at 615 and no it was not head hunger...so I ate 3 oz. I have a fill scheduled for October 17th but am afraid that my stomach is stretched...does anyone feel this way or have you felt this way? Is this normal? Can your band stretch after eating 5-6 oz at one time for one time? (this occured when I did not measure...of course....) Ugh I am stressing myself out because 1 I am hungry more often and closer together and 2 I am wanting to eat more at one time and 3 I gained weight back...Please help! Thank you!
  24. Hello everyone, I want to warn people that this might be TMI and if you are uncomfortable with details and personal health, you may want to back out. So yeah, ever since I had my sleeve performed in February, I have had watery to loose stools and I always feel bloated or like I need to run to the bathroom soon. I get the 64 minimum water intake and my meals are almost completely protein. I physically am not to the point yet where I can have non-starchy veggies. I just dont have the ability to eat then PLUS the protein. My surgeon says everything looks good with my recovery during the past 3 post op visits. Has anyone else had these experience? Needless to say, this isn't something I expected when deciding to get surgery. It's not too big a deal, but it does make me uncomfortable and the sensations are distracting and inconvenient. So much so that my work performance is suffering from it.
  25. Hi there. Long story short. In the last 10 years I've had a lapband, sleeve and 3 years ago bypass. Two months ago, 5 month post birth, I had a massive right side pain. Couldn't move and ended up in emergency. The pain has not gone away. I've experienced the worse pains in my life radiating all over my body, I'm dizzy, bad nausea, confusion, pins and needles and numbness in my legs and lips, crippling pelvic pain, stabbing pains all over my abdomen, bad stitches in both sides, blurry vision, burning lower abdomen, lower back pain, right and left tip shoulder pain, chest pain, sore ribs, bruising all over my body, im exhausted, I fall asleep while driving and I even have (sorry tmi) green vaginal discharge. I've been living on pain killers just to make it through the day. Ive been living in constant pain for a long two months. I've had almost every test under the sun. My bloods are all normal (except a little low in iron). No gallstones detected. I've had an abdominal ultrasound, ct scan of my spine, abdominal MRI, pelvic exam, pelvic ultrasound sound - internal and external, a papsmear, vaginal swabs, in and out of emergency 6 times, bloods tests 7 times, urine tests and I'm losing weight super fast and not in a good way. Nothing has been detected what so ever. Everything comes back perfectly fine, I've only had a low grade fever. I had a endoscopy 5 months ago for reflux and all was fine so they won't perform another. My surgeon has been away but he is now sending me for a abdominal CT scan tomorrow and another gallbladder ultrasound. I've had a few doctors tell me it's all in my head or it's gallstones then constipation, then sti, nerve damage, then a pelvic infection, then ulcers, then spinal problems, then problems from pregnancy but it appears I am perfectly healthy and it's none of these things! I seriously can not handle this anymore... please has anyone ever experienced this from a bypass that can't seem to be detected? It's made me absolutely miserable. I see my surgeon on the 5th for my results. Until then any advice is appreciated!!! Sent from my Pixel 3 using BariatricPal mobile app
