  1. 5 months out and 60 lbs down....i am finally confident enough to "do it" with the lights on. heheheh to be honest the lights never go off now....sorry if this is tmi! outwardly I was never afraid to do stuffor talk to people....butwhen I walked away I just knew they were talking about me. I was a master at faking it (my confidence that is haha) around people...now I have that real confidence!

    Compulsive Worrier

I think they do if it involves the word SEX :lol0: Of course, Bearded hasn't heard that word recently as we're both too damn tired to exert that much energy ... how sad is that?:001_smile: (sorry if that's TMI)
  3. Update, day 4: I'm still in a lot of pain. Barely getting enough liquid/calories/protein in. Yesterday I pushed myself and managed to get in about 220 calories and 40 grams of protein, but probably only about 20 ounces of water on top of that. I'm peeing, so I'm not super worried about being overly dehydrated. This morning I'm having bad waves of pain. Different from other days. And this is probably way TMI, but is it normal to not have a BM 4 days after surgery? I figure it's because I haven't really had any food? I'm going to be emailing my doctor's office this am too, but interested as always in hearing what all of you say!

    How much rabbit food

Right now I'm on blenderized food. My doc told me to try to balance my meals by having one Protein source and one of "something else". I'm trying to make veggies the "something else". I use canned veggies because they are easier to blenderize. I'm sure my diet will evolve and change as I come off mushie stuff. (TMI Alert!) Anyways, since I've started eating more veggies, I've not been so constipated.

    Nsv! Sorta

It is fun to be able to buy sexy bras that actually fit. However, I do have to stuff my breasts in them and rearrange some of the sking (sorry TMI). I do buy my bras from VS.
  6. Catracks

    Caffeine

I drink a little fruit juice and club soda. Diet soda gives me carb cravings. Diet soda with aspartame is really no good for you. People with a lot of reflux and heartburn should stay away. I don't have any trouble with carbonation. i just burp. Sorry if TMI. I was drinking coffee in my chocolate Protein shake two weeks out. YUM mocha!
  7. no gas and the exact opposite of diarhea cha cha cha - TMI? sorry
  8. Hi guys! I don't know if this is TMI (too much information), but I felt the need to ask! I was banded on March 12, 2012 and have really had no problems except for minor port area pain when I'm over working my self...oh yeah and every now and twice now I've gotten a small stomach ache when I eat. I get my first fill next Thursday. My question is: Has anyone else become a little irregular? I've been like clockwork since I was a teenager and me not feeling the urge to go has begun to interfere with my morning weigh ins. Just 2 pounds, but this early in the game for me....every pound counts! Has this happened to anyone else after "the band?" And if so, what can I do? Activia, laxative? I'm clueless! Thanks!

    Extreme Lower Abdominal Pain

I am going through the same thing. I have been banded 2 years and lost 135 lbs. I had a painful episode in April, went to the emergency room after being in pain for 3 days. And was told nothing, must be gas. Also went to my gastro dr. he said nothing was wrong, to take Miralax everyday to make sure I am not constipated. Since I have been taking the Miralax on a regular, I have had no problems going to bathroom or passing gas. Everything I eat was coming out in about an hour (sorry tmi). On Friday, I came to work and had to be sent home in car service the pains were so bad. I had to open my pants, I looked like I was 5 months pregnant. I went to my primary dr. she sent me to the emergency room to have a Cat Scan. They found nothing. I am going to watch what I am eating also. I have been eating a lot of cottage cheese and greek yogurt for breakfast. I definitely will try going dairy free. I think I will stop eating that and see what happens. If anything has any good suggestions for us, please let us know. Good luck to you.
  10. Sorry for the TMI I'm one week out from surgery, haven't had any problems until today. I got very dehydrated yesterday but I was back on track until this afternoon, when I started suffering the worst constipation I've ever had. I've been drinking water and taken a stool softener & Miralax but nothing seems to be moving. I'm about to break out the nuclear option - magnesium citrate. My main worry is that I'm too afraid to take my protein shake. Usually I have 2 shakes, a sf jello, a broth, 64 oz of water & a small meal of meat and veggies. I don't feel well and I don't want to add to the problem. Any advice? (It's too late to call my doc)

Cant Wait For Skinny Good Sexin!

Righttt... and maybe this is TMI but I don't care... but I'm tired of having to lift up the flap to groom my girl... Haha... can't wait for that to go also
  12. My story might be too TMI and if it is, I'm sorry. Just hoping I can help. The first day I came home (3days after surgery) and has a few very watering BMs. Then NOTHING for days and days. At my post-op visit I mentioned it and they told me to take laxatives (keep in mind I had been following MD orders and taking stool softeners every day). It still took a few more days of taking laxatives before I could go. When I did it very painful and eventually there was bleeding involved (due getting hemorrhoids from the straining I assume). The continued until the next post-op visit when I told the MD about it. The MD told me to take a specific laxative that pulls moisture to your bowl and that is what makes you go. He told me that this happens with some WLS pts. and to just take this laxative when needed (he said it may be everyday or it may be once a month). You are not feeling constipated so you are probably OK. Are you still on narcotic pain meds? If so, this is more then likely the reason. If it becomes uncomfortable in ANY way, call your MD. If there is pain involved, call your MD. Don't forget to tell your MD about all of it when you have a post-op visit.

    Tailbone found!

I know this is probably TMI but it's like I'm sitting on a terd when I KNOW (being a grown woman and all) that I'm not. Very uncomfortable. I do have a travel pillow that I bought that I keep in my car that adds enough cushion to make driving ok again. It was less then $4 at Walmart and fits my seat perfectly.
  14. i had some pork ribs and boy oh boy lets just say i woke up to something warm and had to change my undies lol tmi. i dont know if its the bbq sauce or the rib but it had me running.

    i'm sleeved!

The good, the bad, and the ugly...here's some ugly: Had a rough night last night. I started testing out some Isopure clear when I got home from my trip, but diluted it with Water because it tasted so strong. After almost a week of no Protein I thought it was a good idea. That's what I get for thinking! After I went to bed, my new little sleeve had a fit! It woke me up two hours later, returning the nasty stuff that I had fed it! It was the worst feeling...I coughed and gagged on the stuff for a while, and took a vow against isopure for a while!!! Back to plain old Vitamin water once my sleeve has a rest for a few hours! Gotta keep it happy! Also had noticed my legs and feet were swollen after the return flight home, and had gained some pounds of water weight. I had cut my BP pills in half before leaving for Mexicali because I was having occasional dizzy spells when I stood up, and my BP readings were normalized, I suspected it was dropping because I had lost 17 lbs :patriot: Then I totally stopped taking it while in Mexicali because my BP had dropped WAY lower than normal, probably due to all the post-op medications. But I checked it this morning and it is back up at borderline high, :patriot: so I restarted on the 1/2 dose. Am already getting rid of some Fluid from my legs and feel better. I have an appt. with my internist next week (she's been in Europe so I've been "self-doctoring) to be sure everything is looking OK. I think she will be surprised at the wt. loss already. Am also having LOTS of gas at both ends now...so I "hit the chewable GASX" and took a nap late this morning, finally feel a bit better ...probably will be seeing (beware TMI) some peacock poop soon. Two steps forward, one step back. Oh well!
  16. Hello everybody, I'm hoping someone can give me some info. I know it seems like TMI, but I'm worried about this. Here's my story: I had my gallbladder removed in '09. Since then, I have to go to the restroom as soon as I finish eating. Literally, take my last bite, and head to the restroom. I've tried changing my diet (doctor's suggestion), but nothing helps. I even have to go right after drinking a Protein shake, and that's not even real food. I'm able to conveniently plan my meals so that I don't have any emergencies, but that's based on 3 meals a day (sort of). When I start my pre-op diet and have to drink 5 shakes a day, I will have to go after each one. It will be weird at work, and I'll be dehydrated before I even have the surgery. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had this problem, and did it continue after surgery? Thanks, and sorry about the topic.
  17. HEY! I like this solution TMI, but sex after losing 97 pounds is AAAA-MAZING!

    Bowel Movements

@@raquel_c (warning..TMI) Oh yes!! OMG!! I nearly called an ambulance a couple of times because it was stuck and would not come out of my body! I freaked out! Now I take a chewable Fiber pill and miralax every day. At least till I have some veggies and fruit in my diet. I thought it was due to the pain meds , and it might have been at first, but that was 4 weeks ago, and I had another episode last week. It scared me!! It was like a dang boulder stuck in my body!! MIralax is your friend.
  19. Just got my PICO ( a mini-drain) dicontinued after 2 months of a minor surgery that my stupid General Surgeon ( although I do hate so bad- mouthing another female) boogered up- left me with a distended upper arm with a non- healing surgical wound distended with blood clots- my theory? She failed to ligate a teeny blood vessel and it kept drip- drip- dripping under the skin. 1.5 kudney- basins full of clots and tunnelling both directions for 5 cm under the skin surface and raised up like a "breast implant" Sorry for the TMI but that WAS what it most resembled. Surgery was September 24th and after weekly PICO changes I am FREE on November 13th- whew-ee. Frightening that Ms Inept MD. also does Bariatric SURGERY but Praise GOD above , Not Mine! So drains do perform a purpose, if needed They Are Good but Many Many people escape THEM- if you do emerge from the OR with one they do speed up healing well. Had a Jackson- Pratt with my last open Abdominal- not my Bariatric- except for a little wider scar THERE it was GOOD FOR ME and speeded healing up! So Good Luck, a Smooth SURGERY and may yOu Always heal by" First Intention" healing from the Inside Out like my Last little SURGERY- The Pits- and IT STILL us a little sore there after nearly 2 months. And no sympathy from anybody because it was an ELECTIVE ONE.

    New and feel alone!

Hi Vickilynn...first of all is 1973 the year you were born? If so, that was a great year! I had my surgery on Thursday, 1/3/13. Pain is getting less each day, but those gurgglie, swooshing, bubbly sounds throughout my intestines and stomach are crazy! Today was my first day that I only took one 45min nap. I have cut way back on the pain meds. I had a bout of depression this morning, diarrhea (sorry if that is TMI) all day long and I want to eat something crunchy!!! I'm on liquids only for 1-2 weeks, no protein until I get cleared from DR when I see him on Friday. The tape on my incisions is itching like crazy!! I think I'm slightly allergic, due to the rash. I'm watching Biggest Loser right now, and still happy with my decision for surgery. I do hope I will have stamina in a year from now to work out that hard. I also want to do another 1/2 marathon.

    How to spend the day....?

Bonjour! Well, it's Sunday. Off to the hospital tomorrow. I have to be there for 3.30pm, even though the operation isn't until Tuesday morning. I get a 'light supper' about 5 pm, then apparently I'm to have a shower and wash my hair with some antibacterial jollop that smells like drain cleaner! and again in the morning. The instructions are very precise on how and where to wash - makes particular mention of your bellybutton and between your bumcheeks :scared0: Hope they don't come and inspect!!! The hospitals here are very hot on preventing MRSA (do you have that in US?) by scrubbing everything and everyone to within an inch of their lives. Which is a good thing. I took the dogs up around our fields this morning - the sun is shining, birds were singing fit to bust. :thumbup1: I collected the eggs, did a bit of weeding in the veg patch and planted some more salad crops. Couldn't help wondering when I will do that next - not too long, I hope! Spent ages in the bathroom, used all my body scrubs and delicious shower gels (had already got rid of the 'lady garden' (TMI, I know )... Buffed my finger and toenails, did the cuticles... I'm scrubbed, smoothed, trimmed and fragrant as can be. It is all about displacement activity and that pretence of being in control again!! Tomorrow is my last blog entry before I'm a fully-fledged sleever! Can't believe it.. Will load some more radio programmes onto my iPod today - I have Book at Bedtime, Play for Today, the News Quiz and The Archers Omnibus x 2 and Desert Island Discs (All from Radio 4 and 7 - the Brits on here will recognise the progs!). French TV is so rubbish, it isn't worth me paying the equivalent of 10 dollars a day for my own TV.

    Full Body Lift?

That's sad! I want to get pregnant next year after our 15th marriage anniversary I need my nipples to feed the future baby, sorry tmi until the I wear those water based inserts
  23. I know this is TMI, but I am desperately in the NEED to know! My bowels have not moved since B4 surgery. Tomorrow, April 2nd will be one week out. Is this normal? Any suggestions on what to take?

    Ahh bra...

Well I just ordered genie bra, I sure hope they are worth it. I'm not to worried about the sagging because I have had a lift with implants but I do worry about them smashing me. I have had such a hard time with bras. Maybe that was TMI if so sorry
  25. Had RNY Gastric Bypass last Monday (6 days ago). Everything went great! Went home the following day. Following instructions to the T. But yesterday my pain started increasing especially on my left side. I really hoped I would feel improvement by now but it's actually worse. Dr hasn't been available all weekend of course but went to urgent care last night (which was pointless as the Dr had no clue anything about WLS patients). The nurse told me to go due to the puss that developed under the glue on the incision site but they said its not infected. Anyway, the pain on my left side is constant and kind of feels like when you drink too much then exercise and get those cramps. But when I walk it's even worse. And there's a burning sensation on my lower abdomen (nowhere near incision site). Just wondering if anyone else experienced this? Is it normal? Also having regular diarrhea (sorry tmi) and Dr said it was normal a few days ago but most people are constipated. I sure hope this gets easier soon. I can't even put my socks & shoes on by myself. Lol. I'm hopeful but just so shocked at how bad things still are. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
