Where do you men shop for regular sizes?
Capt Derel replied to Butterthebean's topic in The Guys’ Room
I had a NSV the other day. I walked up in Acadamy Sports and bought me 3 under armour shirts and 3 pairs of shorts. All size medium. I didnt even try it on or anything. I get home and guess what that medium shirt is to big. Thats a big NSV to me especially the last time I was in a medium was when I was in the 4th grade. I tried on My sons youth large shorts. They fit. A little snug like some come and get mes but they fit right in the waist. Thats sad smh... -
Another great NSV, bending over!!!

I am a March 11 slever- cant believe its almost 5 months. 5' tall SW 243 HW 259 CW 185 I was at 183 but now up 2 lbs and stalled for a week. I can probably eat most anything except steak. I get about 650 calories, 25-30 in carbs, and happy with my progress. I was a 3x top down to a 1X and a 24 bottom to a 16, sometimes a 14. My biggest obstacle continues to be eating too fast but I am improving. My biggest NSV - no hair loss so far!!! Ann

Great NSV Holly, I too love them! You are doing great! Karen -
Grateful, blessed, but NOT losing weight.

I feel your pain, as I'm having a similar experience! Though I'm only a month out (1 month today, actually), I've only lost 17 pounds and I'm super disappointed, even though I have had several NSVs. Stalls are normal, unfortunately, but it seems to me that even though you aren't losing pounds, you're gaining your health. And that's really, really good! -
Freaked Out This Am - Pants Tight
Donna113 replied to jetsy62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jetsy62, you go girl! You will make it. I know about the nagging feeling this isn't going to work (all the yo yo dieting really did a number on me). I still have moments like that, but it's those NSVs and the scale moving in the right direction (regardless of how little the movement) that renews my hope. I AM GOING TO MAKE IT! YOU ARE TOO! -
1. I am in a size 18 Old Navy jeans! Not their plus size, their regular 18's!!! (oh, and I can breathe) They are SO cute and comfy 2. I bought a bathing suit for the first time in forever! 3. I bought another pair of shorts, that I WILL wear in public. 4. I am wearing a diamond horseshoe necklace that my hubby bought me 2 years ago, that has always been a little too snug on the neck. It isn't snug anymore!!! Just wanted to share with my LBT family! Today is a good day.

I'm so excited! I had a NSV this morming when I zipped up my boots. I've always had to scrunch down my knee high boots so I could get them zipped up over my rather voluptuous calves but today . . . I zipped from ankle to knee in one smooth, unscrunched action! Yee Haw!

DeniseNCC1701 replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great post, @@LindafromFlorida! Just the other day I was browsing the messages here, and it seems like every other topic was No Weight Loss/Freaking out/ HELP!, etc... I was even going to find a post I made offering encouragement and support and put it into a text file so I could cut and paste repeatedly. I'm in a stall right now, and all is good. One of the NSVs I've been experiencing lately is a level of joy that I've not felt for years. I have a ways to go to get to my goal, and that's fine. I trust the process. And for the first time in, like, ever, I'm seeking out help, and really listening to what everyone on my bariatric team is telling me. I mean really listening. Be well… -
Don't give up on it yet!! If you read through other posts I've put out here, you'll see I've struggled with losing weight at the same pace as the others on here. I started at 304 and have lost only about 45 pounds since December. It's slow, far slower than when I did Weight Watchers...but this time is the last time! I'm finally at a place on the scale that I haven't seen since 1996. Remember that you don't want to start working out for longer than you can maintain through the rest of your life.....I, too, was doing an hour and a half a day and wasn't losing weight. (I do gain muscle mass easily...) With that said, I met with my nutritionist and she told me to 1) increase my Protein and Water intake and 2) workout LESS!!! I'm now doing about 45 minutes a day, sometimes a little less, depending on my week. I lost inches and went from a size 22 to a snug 18 in my first 3 months, only losing about 15-20 pounds. Then, the scale started to finally work with me.... Remember that without the band tightened, you are doing this on your own. Give yourself time and keep at it. Watch the negative self talk. You didn't eat this on overnight, and it certainly won't fall off over night. Celebrate the NSV's (the non-scale victories) You'll get there if you're willing to put in the time. It's clear that you're willing to put in the energy. Don't give up and keep in touch with people on here. They've been a tremendous influence on keeping me on track. We all lose at our own pace.....but, if when all is said and done, I get down under 200, I don't care if it takes me 4 years to lose all the weight!!! Good luck. Be well.

Some of you may remember me asking about running after surgery. If not, my husband is a runner, runs ultra "insane" marathons. I want nothing to be able to run with him. Now that my weight is down (almost 70lbs) I thought I'd try a little. I've been walking but haven't really pushed myself till now. This is my progress over the last 3 days. Shew, I may be feeling it by the end of the week. This is Monday, Tuesday and today's distance and time. I'm increasing the pace and distance by 1/4 mile each day. How are my Dec 19th sleevers doing?
Mich129 replied to ualaw08's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I took a leap of faith today. I purged my closet of the largest sized clothing (26). I decided to do it considering the weight I've lost already and that since returning to work I experimented with wearing some blouses that had gotten too tight. It was definitely my first NSV. -
Terrific NSV. I live in CA and fly a lot and I get a lot of funny looks from tsa agents who look at my license and look at me.

I was sorting through Bras. Frustrated at the new 38 long size. I thought this really puts my grundies in a bundle feeling as these things are not cheep!! Why do men have less expensive undies anyway? So I looked at one of my old faves and thought, I wish that there were 3 inches taken right out of the center of this thing. well I tied a knot into the center and sort of pondered. then I put the darn thing on and I am not kidding you. It fit really nice!!!! Ive spent 3 weeks trying to find a comfy fitting one and haven't found a thing. Now I am telling you the TRUTH!! It fit and I wore it all day and I just cant believe it myself and it looks sort of like a bow style swimsuit top!! Who would have guessed. I know I'm strange an cheep, but I think Ill try this on a few more of my undies!:guess  :omg:

Greetings! I am a little over three weeks out and can finally wear a belt and tuck in my shirts!!!! This is a whoo hoo moment for me. Also, I took all my smaller sized blouses, sweaters, and skirts to the cleaners this week, and it's like I have a new wardrobe. Plus my hubby told me I'm looking sexy!! Wow! Love my sleeve. I will be fit before I turn fifty. To our good health- Fit

Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...
zenandnow posted a blog entry in What do you mean I'm fat?!?
Ok, so I set my goals, got back on track, finally broke my stall.....now what? Now....you keep doing what you've been doing, that's what! I need to remind myself that this is a change in my lifestyle - there's no end, there are stages (or levels, as Kramer would say). This is my 'stick to the plan & lose dat ass' stage. Once I get to goal, it's the 'don't mess this up' stage. But I don't ever get to go back to my old habits. Maybe I'll get to have some of the old foods I ate; a taste occasionally, but never at the amounts I used to consume. And is that really a bad thing? I'm starting to think it's not.... I decided to update my goals a bit: Lose 20 lbs - complete! Get under 200 lbs - complete! Lose 45 lbs - complete! Get to 190 Lose 50 lbs Get to 186 Get to 180 Get to 169 Get to 160 Get to 155 Get to 150 Get to 145 Get to 140 Get to 135 Get to 125 Get to 120 Not totally inspired, but at least it gives me something to work towards! Next task - work on some NSV goals to add into this list. Because as I lose more weight the losses are going to slow down. And I know I'll get discouraged and reach for something comforting. Like a jar of marshmallow fluff. -

Fabulous!! There is nothing like a nsv to make a wonderful trip even better. Keep up the good work! -
So I was at Payless today getting some shoes for my son, and I decided just for fun to try on some shoes. I have NOT been able to wear shoes from any store like that for YEARS. I had to order online size 10 or 10 1/2 WW or WWW or WWWWWWWWWWWWW........well....you get it... So here is a picture of the 10W I put on and IT FIT!!!! HOORAAAAYYYY!!! (don't mind my 'canckles') I even tried on a regular 10 that was a bit stretchy and I got it on too!! WOO HOOOOOO I almost bought them just because they fit!!! LOL

My first NSVs!-updated with pictures
LilMissDiva Irene replied to sasicas's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hey Sasi, great NSV's!!! Congrats I bet you're feeling amazing! As far as the pictures, you will have to resize them on your program or whatever you're using to edit your photos on your computer. I just use simple ole MS Paint, it does everything I need it to. I usually Stretch/Skew to 25% and that seems to work perfectly. I hope to see some updated photos soon!!! -
I'm 11 months out and still don't own a scale. I just weighed at the doctors office. You will be a lot less stressed not worrying about the numbers on the scale. Just follow your plan, concentrate on healing and establishing new habits and measuring your success with NSVs and clothing size.
