Try to stear clear of Vicki if you can. I will have to tell you why at a meeting and not here on the posts. Trust me on this one.
I am glad your doing better. I ate steak last night too fast cause I was starving by the time I ate. And man was that painful. It hurt so bad I thought I was gonna pass out. Finally came back up. Didn't stop me though, went back chewed better and finished my steak. Go figure. So I have gained 3 pounds back. I really don't know what to do about my fill on Moday. It is with Deanna so I guess I will talk to her and see what she thnks.
Are you going to the support group meeting?

Hi Raychie, how're you doing? I just had my 2nd fill and honestly feel more restriction for now. I hope I see some weight loss soon. It's been a few weeks since the scale moved. Please let me know how things are with you.

I was just reading your thread in Post Op msg board about the SB diet and how you werent losing yet... Just wanted to put in my two cents... Hope it comes out the right way and encourages rather than discourages! I was banded just over a year ago, Nov 18, 2009. I didnt lose any weight until July really. I lost about 10 pounds pre op, maybe 5 pounds until July. It took ALOT of fills.

Also my stomach has felt sore lately.. i have been struggling lately i guess the holidays are the holidays banded or not. but maybe just maybe I won't gain 20 lbs this season and stay the same and start losing weight after the holidays are over.

Yeah im still super glad I had the procedure done. I'm about 50lbs down, from my heaviest, still dont think i look that different, but it feels great! I feel like i'm eating normal, but smaller portions, i need to step up my game. But that really was my ultimate goal, to make better decisions, but still lead a normal life. Congrats on the amazing weight loss!! My jaw dropped! thats outstanding!

Hey there, how's your weight loss coming along? Its so hard to give pointers these days since I havent lost a pound in a couple of months now (think I need a fill). The best advice I can give is to make sure you are working out at least 3-4 times a week (I was doing 5-6 times in the beginning) and make conscious decisions of what you are eating. The band does limit the amount of food you can eat, but it doesnt always limit what you are eating. Heavy starches like bread, certain pasta, rice, gives me a hard time but i can live without. Chips on the other hand, is my weakness and it does not limit that for me really.
So just beware. Count your calories. Know of what it takes to burn those calories off and you may think twice before making a bad decision. 30 minutes on the elliptical at a pretty steady pace burns about 350 for me and that's pretty hard work. So some times when I go for that bag of chips and thats 280 cals, it doesnt seem worth it.

That is great that you will have a wonderful Christmas gift (your band)! My pre op diet consisted of no bread outside of nature wheat (no white flour), no white flour or sugars, no corn, potatoes, or foods heavy in cream. I could eat fruits that were low in sugar, lean meats without any skin, and limited fruit juices or half/half. I was encouraged to limit coffee and lots of water. During that period it was suggested not to eat fried foods. The main reason for such a strict diet is to shrink your liver down to do your surgery. It seems a bite hard to do but just look at the bigger picture and what you stand to gain from all of it. page 1

Wow Jamie! That's fantastic! Currently I'm doing an hour of walking 4 times a week and 2 hours of aqua aerobics 3 times a week. I recently had a fill so I'm finding it hard to eat more than 1000 calories, but it's working for me anyways. lol. But I'm getting heaps of nutrition. As for the weekly treat, I usually finish off something my fiancee can't eat, like a ham and cheese toasted sanwich. I'm one of those people who, if I don't work hard enough, I lose focus, so I have to develop a bit of an obsession. I just hope I can turn that obsession off when I've reached my goal - but there's 50 more kilos to go, so it won't be for a while anyways.
That's inspiration dude! When you've reached your ultimate goal weight are you still going to be dieting and exercising?

Thanks Rebecca, I think you get spoiled with how much weight is lost in the beginning it is hard to slow down or come to a halt until you start dropping again. I get another fill on Friday, God willing, hope to be under 200 before year end...God Bless, M-

Hello, I was banded on Aug. 19th. I have absolutely no regrets, but, I am not losing as quickly as I think I should be. So far it's only about 12 lbs. I know it's better than gaining, but I feel like I am doing things the wrong way. Any suggestions would be great.

Hi there, thanks for the compliment. I actually wrote a blog thats on my page about my diet/workout routine. I've since slowed down the working out, but my weight loss has slowed as well, so I really believe strongly the key to success is working out (it also helps some with the saggy skin). Please check out my blog and let me know if you have any other questions.
