Holy spicy Batman!
Who Dat 70461 replied to UnzippingTheFatSuit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Living in South Louisiana, spicy food is the norm. I'm almost 9 months out and haven't had any issues with spicy foods yet. Of course, crawfish season is just around the corner and it isn't good unless you have tears running down your cheeks and your sinuses are flowing (TMI, huh?! LOL), so I guess that will be the real test! -

Diarrhea (Sorry For This But I Need To Know!)
LisaBC posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, I have to ask this just so I know if it's normal or not. I am 9 days post-op and on a liquid diet for 3 weeks (just started Soups today) and have been experiencing diarrhea since surgery. Is this normal? will it go away? Like I said, sorry for the TMI topic, but I am getting a bit worried and don't want to get dehydrated. Thanks! Lisa -
4 Days Post-Op & Feeling Better Plus Tmi Alert!
slimthickens posted a blog entry in slimthickens' Blog
Today is day 4 post-op for me and I'm finally starting to feel a little like my old self again. I was able to lay in my bed for a cat nap today for the first time without my organs feeling like they are rearranging themselves inside...lol I was so desperate for sleep the other night that I actually grabbed my pillow and blanket and slept in the passenger seat of my car!! NO LIE!! It was the only place I could think of to simulate a hospital bed at home and it worked. The next morning when I woke up In the driveway I remembered that my back living room couch is a sectional with a recliner on one end!!!! It had to be the pain meds that didn't allow that to come into my mind before I got into the dang car...lol I've been sleeping in the recliner now and it does help but I soooo want to be back in my bed for a full nights rest. On another note and one that is typical for the way things go for me in my life, As I lay in the recliner this morning starting to notice that I was feeling a little better and like my old self again I sneezed and then realized that I NOW HAD A COLD!!!! Shaking my head I got up to use the restroom and then realized that I had also just STARTED MY PERIOD!!!!!!! All I could do was laugh and just roll with it...lol -
kinda gross, but gotta ask...
Grandma26 replied to JayJay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a serious problem with NOT going after being banded. I thought I was going to wind up in the ER for help. Finally resolved it's self with the help of good 'ole Milk of Magnesia(sp). Now I take a softener everyday. Because we are eating small portions by the time out intestines are full enough to void it's a little hard. WOW that's TMI!!! lol Hope it helps! -
@@Cupcake, Yay for you! You got through it! I am so glad you feel good. Isn't it nice to be on this side of the surgery? @@allielee, I almost threw up in the hospital and it was terrifying! You are a trooper. Congrats on your weight loss so far. @@Kookichu, thanks for always being so positive and supportive! The scale started moving the very next day, and "bathroom issues" had a lot do to with that! Without providing TMI, I think things had been backed up for awhile. Not any more, though!! And, on a NSV note, I actually went to work out last night!!! Just a little bit on the treadmill, but I have not had energy to even do that. So, baby steps back to cardiac health for me.

Getting sick constantly....some TMI
Eva Chavez posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I had open RNY on 8/12 and it has been a rough road since the start but now I am wondering if there is indeed something actually wrong. I really can not eat anything without vomiting...sorry I don't like that word but it is what it is. I can drink Water and my Protein shakes fine but any type of food seems to make me ill and comes back up. I had some cottage cheese about 2 1/2 hours ago and just now I was sitting and watching tv and unexpectedly and without warning it came back up. I didn't even have that achy my pouch is too full feeling. As I ran to the restroom to let it do its thing I noticed in the toilet the shake i drank 6 hours ago was also mixed in. I am wondering how something I drank 6 hours ago could possibly be still in my pouch. Also just when I thought it was over I started projectile vomiting water...never done that yet. So I suppose my question is has anyone had this happen? Also any advice is greatly appreciated. -
Tummy Stretching? Opinions!
BJean replied to NtvTxn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NtvTxn, sounds like ours heads are in about the same place. I'm still getting used to the new look that proper fitting bras have created for me. Since I've worn the same bras for years - minimizers - I didn't even realize that they have come out with tee shirt bras. They're great. I invested (big time) in 5 of them. Now I'm already beginning to think I shouldn't have bought so many. I may be going down another size soon and I only got them a couple of weeks ago. I hope this isn't TMI!! -
Okay so I FEEl like I really need to poop but I just can't and I feel like its making my pain 10x worse than it was before is there anything other than walking that could help? I say other than walking because when I walk (TMI warning) I feel like I'm going to poop myself but I go to the toilet to let myself poop and NOTHING comes out just a reminder I'm only 1-day post op.

September '11 new bandsters
Chelle RN replied to Josg913's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome everyone..post op day 4 and im feeling great....all the pain had subsided. I finally went to the bathroom.. ..sorry Tmi.......feeling great though.....post op diet is ok..although I was staring down my sons hot dog yesterday..... -
wait. let me get this straight. you were going fine before, or as you think you were. Were you feeling any discomfort or bloatedness in your intestines tho? And now you have cramping in your intestines and are going often? And your stomach is bloated too now? When you go to the bathroom, is it the same kind of pooh, or more? Or what? Do you FEEL the laxatives are getting out more than you were getting out before? Are you able to take a gas X? Sounds like your stomach is sorta gassy from the laxative? Can you try gasX to see if it helps? Other than going so often now, is the laxative REALLY working (like getting out a ton more than you were normally)? Sorry for the TMI questions, but just trying to understand more of the whole picture and rationale. And sorry you're feeling the pains... laxatives will give cramps b/c it's stimulating the bowels to get rid of what's in there..

May have to not drink cow's milk anymore. Lactose in cow's milk will make you feel bloated and gassy. I bet the cream source in mushroom soup aggravated your stomach. Try soymilk or Almond Breeze and see if it eases your digestion. So today was not a great day. I went back to work, but felt pressure in my stomach all day like I was full constantly. I don't want to get into too much TMI but I did go to the bathroom, not much, twice today but I feel like I am backed up. I took gasx and a dose of miralax with little result. Feeling a bit shaky, not like a low blood sugar shaky just not well. Deep breaths feel sore today. I have no fever, no nausea, vomiting anything of the sort. If I am still feeling like this tomorrow I am going to call the doctors office. Any ideas? Today I had a 8oz Protein shake before work, then a 6oz stonyfield yogurt at like 9am. Water and my multivitamin until lunch, at 12:30 had 2oz of puree chicken salad. water until I got home and about 7:30 had a small bit of cream of mushroom soup. then more water. I have been feeling this pressure all day.

Down 123 in 6 mo but getting concerned..
Looking Ahead posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I am very proud of being down this much...I went from a 26W to 14R Levis this week. From 338 to 215 today. Heres the concern..when I stress lately, I crave chocolate. I have never really had a craving for any type of chocolate. I would be fine with one candy bar a year....if that. Now, seems like when I'm stressed to my limit, I want everything bad for me...cokes, chocolate, cupcakes, etc. I know I don't need to have theses items but at times , I feel I have no control over it especially when I see some type of candy left over from holiday parties or what I have bought for the rest of my family. Any suggestions? I am still losing but I know this is why it is slowing down. I can tell I've been under so much stress lately, my depression is getting bad again. It was getting so much better I was going to ask to half my meds again...two more halves and I'm off the medication. Wellbutrin. How do you handle the stress and cravings for sweets? Could my hormones be changing due to the weightloss? I've had a hysterectomy but never been on hormone replacements other than trial and error the first few months after surgery. I have always been fine without them. Also, TMI.....my sex drive is slowing down again. It was up for a while but seems to be down again. I think it started low because of my weight, now its low because of the excess skin- How do I deal with this.. I set my first goal for 190...but I want to change it to 150 when I reach 190. Any advice is appreciated. angie -
OK not sure how to ask this but here it goes...... Im right at 8 weeks post op and low and behold me bowel movement has turned colors ... it has turned Green!!! and I know for a fact its not from eating more greens as I dont eat them yet. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance!

So yet again I find myself here talking about my ass.
heather5565 replied to winklie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just laughed out loud! You and your ass really need to start getting along! Although I admit... me and my ass have not discussed a schedule of evacuation or anything. I eat bran buds, I take stool softeners, I take fibre pills, I occasionally use suppositories and I toot, but actual evacuation of ???? rarely happens. Where in the hell does it go?!?!?! I am forever full of poo! Sorry, TMI. I never have diarrhea, it's always the opposite! I go a week without having a BM and then the suppositories have to be brought out. I should look into this MOM stuff. Clearly we (me and my bum) need to have some MOM our lives. -
I've Been Hungry! Will I Stretch My Pouch?
jennbrenna posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on 09/10/2012. I know that I should not be weighing myself but I have and on Saturday I had lost a total of 22 lbs but today I gained 4 of those back. I know this may be TMI but I have not had a bowel since Saturday either. I got really sick on Friday and am finally feeling better...so maybe that is why. I can now work out again since I am not sick but I have a question. Last night I had my one planned cheat and had a piece of pizza. The doctor told me I was 'following the diet too closely which made me sick' I am not sure how this is possible but she said I simply bottomed out...doesn't make sense but I introduced some carbs like she said. So now here I am ate a piece of pizza...feel like I stuffed myself although it was probably 5 oz and am now feeling bad since I have gained 4 lbs back. Is this how this is going to be all the time? Up and down? I introduced carbs because I was directed too but was doing so well on their specific diet, although it was a bit hard. I also ate today (three meals) one with carbs and one only protein and feel bloated. What scares me the most is that I ate a meal at 5pm and then was hungry again at 615 and no it was not head hunger...so I ate 3 oz. I have a fill scheduled for October 17th but am afraid that my stomach is stretched...does anyone feel this way or have you felt this way? Is this normal? Can your band stretch after eating 5-6 oz at one time for one time? (this occured when I did not measure...of course....) Ugh I am stressing myself out because 1 I am hungry more often and closer together and 2 I am wanting to eat more at one time and 3 I gained weight back...Please help! Thank you! -
I am using the bariatric advantage, our office sells different flavors and at our pre-op nutrition seminar, we got to sample them to see which flavors we liked. I never had any problems with the nausea. As for the laxative effect....I do not see this in me at all. I have had to Miralax to my regime twice a week to keep things moving nice and softly (TMI). I have been looking at the costco brand (Kirkland) and they appear to be very similar in the vitamin % so I may switch them to as they are a little lower in cost.

Screw TMI this is a powder room, sex got ten times better after surgery. Like holy crap, I haven't been this freakin horny ever. I have always had a high sex drive but now its way higher. I love that I can move around better, not so self conscious of my body, and can go way longer than I use too.

I have found that I can orgasm now from oral stimulation. Ok, like many others said TMI but...on topic. I never was able to " get there" before, although I still enjoyed the effort. Now I can reach climax in minutes! It amazed me and my partner. ( who has been around before the weight loss) Another NSV that I REALLY like!!! LOL

So, How often do you have a bowel movement? i know this is an off color topic that most women dont talk about but honestly, I work in healthcare and I am not real shy about bodily functions. Since surgery I am only going about every 4 days. Is that a normal time frame for a bandster? Also, TMI, Its pretty difficult to actually go. Before surgery it was pretty much on schedule every day. you know the routine....Sh*t, shower, shave, lol Now its really unpredictable, hard as a rock, and difficult. Any suggestions?

Hi guys, I read your post this morning and it made me sad I have a real issue keeping my protien intake high enough while still staying under my calories for the day. When I use the Protein shots, or protein bars/drinks...to help get those extra grams in they are great, and low in calorie..but OMG the gas!!! (TMI alert!!) Not so much the PU of it..but the pains in the belly. Grumble rumble tumble..and I can't exactly rip it here at my desk! By the time I get to the ladies room..I can sit there a good 10 minutes just blasting away..sounds like world war three! EMBARRASSING! Then of course when the protein is not high enough I am not losing any weight..and I'm feeling tired all the time and consequently got myself sick with a bad upper respiratory infection! So this morning...I was on a tirade! I am an overweight, gas blasting, bald cranky b***h! Get out of my way!!!!! Good thing it's Halloween...I got everyone running scared! BOO! Hoo...what should we do??? Yeah yeah I know protein..get your gas mask on, the bombs are about to blow!

I know weird question, and yes I take a shower everyday, and use wipes after I go number 2 so before surgery I don't remember being this potent down there [emoji23] is that to me expected? Sent from my LML212VL using BariatricPal mobile app
