How neat is that! That must have made your day! I will love the day that I can actually fit into some of my smaller clothes, especially my smaller uniforms, I used to wear a L (now 3X) so to be able to get back into L's will just be the biggest NSV for me!:001_rolleyes:
  4. WOOHOO!!!! I totally cannot wait for that NSV also... my DH is super skinny (150) so I am dreaming of the day that I can say the same! Congrats!

How things have changed in a year

Isn't it a great feeling , it sure is a good day for us I love the change in our minds , body and our nsv's fro where to now and where we are going and the things we can do , that we could not even do before whether it be small or big , yes I say big lol , I a loving being able to just have energy and not say no when some one says let's go here or there , fro being tired all the time or not being able to just breath, yes I know most of us were out of breath , just trying to move sometimes now we do all that we can do and just try to do a bit more than before , so we will keep on going, and won't worry when o last breath might be, cause we chose to better our selves, by being healthy and making choices on eating and drinking healthy.

And now time for a stall!

@@TXMissy I know how frustrating it is! I am also about 4.5 months out although I started much heavier than you. I also just came off a 10 day stall, and then had the best one week loss ever (even better than right after surgery). I agree with @@James Marusek about putting the scale away and focusing on the inches like you already noted. As you said, your body is adjusting and I bet you will see a nice drop on the other side of this stall. I have found this is a great opportunity to focus on NSVs and other benefits of our process, but I know this doesn't make looking at the same number day after day any easier. Good luck.

    Funny story and NSV

I use a Fitbit scale. When I weigh it uploads my weight into my profile. I don't always look down when I weigh. I just figure I'm capturing data that I can look at on the graph in my app. I hadn't looked at my graph in a while and it gives me warm fuzzies to see the downward graph line. To my surprise my graph line was jagged. Up one pound, down one pound. Up two pounds down 3 pounds, etc. So I log in to check the data. To my surprise it was logging in two weigh ins a couple times a week. So I ask if anyone else is using my scale. My husband pipes up that he has been using it for a long time. Apparently it can differentiate between two people unless they are within 5 pounds of each other. Lol...he was literally stepping all over my data collection. So maybe a dorky, funny story but a super cool NSV since I now weigh more than 5 pounds less than my husband for the first time in our 20 year marriage!!!

    Isn't it Ironic

I also have gone back to makeup, nails done, and hair cut stylishly. I wear dresses at work because I look nice in them again instead of looking short and fat with tree trunk legs. It's not about vanity. It's about taking care of ourselves. I don't do this for anyone but me. Yes..I know I'm being looked at and I know that I'm getting attention both male and female but that's just the perks. I feel good about me and that's what counts. Keep on getting those nails done GF and remember that this is a huge NSV.

    Feeling Human Today

Glad you are feeling better! I wish I could go to mushies, I still have to wait 11 more days, argh! I can't wait to chew. I did have an NSV today that made me not feel so sorry for myself. I was down a size in clothes, I needed new pants and was pretty excited when I went down a size!

  19. I have always thought to myself this is too easy… I had vsg 2/24/21 I am down 80 lbs since surgery and 104 lbs overall since 10/31/20. Some of it is luck and some of it I feel is good choices and embracing the lifestyle changes as well as mindset. I listen to a few wls podcasts and belong to a few wls groups. I go to support meetings offered by my surgeon’s office and spend a lot of time researching. Celebrate the NSVs and keep making new goals. Tracking helps me meet my goals, measuring everything helps me learn proper portions. Walking and weightlifting are also contributing to my weight loss. I did have 1 hiccup- gall bladder had to come out 5 months after vsg- but I did have a history of gallstones and the rapid weight loss probably was what caused my gall bladder to become inflamed. Hoping it continues to feel easy and I can stay on track for the long term.

    I just realized...

P'Nut....I am so thrilled and in awe of your accomplishments...you are a friend to everyone here and always offer a shoulder to cry on or are ready with a much-needed chuckle.... NSVs are awesome --- realizing life changes before our eyes is terrific and exciting -- I've noticed I am still totally ready to walk when my 15 minutes are up on the treadmill....I've noticed that when I sat in a chair with little side arms that my butt does NOT stick out the sides anymore....and I've noticed that my jeans now have SPACE in the front and the back! Congrats P'Nut! Thank you for sharing your excitement with us!
  21. My exercise has only been walking since surgery. For years I've had foot and knee pain. I started out by parking as far from the entrance to my office and the stores as possible to force myself to get in some extra walking. Then I graduated up to walking around the inside of my office several times a week. After about 8 months, I was walking up to 5 miles a day. Now I'm focusing on speed walking and jogging. Take it a bit at a time and do just a little more each day. Here's my post where I keep track of my progress. http://www.bariatricpal.com/blog/9018/entry-31216-nsv-2-you-best-step-off-b-hatch/
