Today I celebrate my one year Surgical Anniversary! On Monday, July 28, 2014 Dr. Alan Leslie Schuricht performed a gastric sleeve on me at Pennsylvania Hospital where I weighed 343 pounds (my high weight was 363 pounds) and a year later I am 143 pounds lighter and weigh 220 pounds! Thanks Dr. Schuricht and Penn Bariatric Medicine! Thanks to the following: Dr. Sara Slattery and the team from Penn Medicine Fitness Now; Beth Marks, www.GetFitNowNJ.com and Kennedy Health Bariatric Fitness; Personal trainers from the YMCA of Burlington and Camden County! I am also thankful today to my beautiful wife, Jan and my great kids Liz and Matt!

I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery August 2011. I losit 120lbs. My weight on these pictures was 142lbs. They were taken my my plastic surgeon, Dr Victor Gutierrez located in Baja California, Tijuana, Mexico. I chose him as my plastic suregeon based on his educational background, experience, professionalism, health care concern and reasonable price quote. This pictures clearly show lots of extra skin. My asymmetrical breasts, hanging stomach, and flat butt. -

October 31, 2011 was when my new life begin. After the passing of my dad in March 2011, I realized I was an excellent caretaker for him, but not of myself. My weight had ballooned and my health was in trouble. The realization that I had just buried my dad, and if I did not take control of my life, my mom would be burying me. I chose life and had gastric bypass on Halloween last year. My life could not be better. (Ok, so I could have a man in my life, but hey it's very good). My starting weight was 268 size 22 and I wear a size 12 now! Life is good and I am blessed! I don't know what God has in store for the next half of my journey, but I am ready for the ride.

well my nut is not much help I showed this site to my gp and he was quite happy that I found this site he also says he will recomend this site for others. having said that he says just agree with mt nut and keep asking you all for the good advice. having to wait until the 1st of the year is so they can keep a close check on whats going on with my heart he says losing weight is good but losing life not so much. so i will keep on learning more from you all thanks ali

3 months out and I'm losing all taste for food. I now because I have to. I don't really enjoy anything now. I hope this passes. I mean its good for my weight loss but it sucks to feel like I dont like my food all the time.

My official surgery weight is 245. I kicked some butt on my pre-surgery weight loss.

Congratulations to you both, @wascott and @salonmom! Wascott, I hear you on the exhaustion, I know I started to feel a million times better about a month out, but the first few weeks are definitely healing time for your body. But 2 1/2 months out I was back to walking 4 miles a day and feeling great about the whole process. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

So I haven't posted in awhile, but I am so happy with this journey, tough, frustrating and all! I started at 254 and am now 175. Went from a size 22/24 to a Medium top and 10/12 pant. I look younger at 41 then I did at 30~ -

I started in Jan. 2011 @ 372, through out the pictures I lost weight but not enough. When I had the surgery August 29, 2011 I weighted 303 lbs.

Hey! Guess what, As of today I have lost more than I have to lose! 169 lbs lost since my highest weight, only 161 lbs to go!!!! I'm half way there!

Uhhh, I've apparently reached a place in my weight loss where I'm no longer "fat enough" for people to be uncomfortable referring to being fat around me. Not sure I like this stage...
