It's okay! I can bring my own food!

But regardless, I'm nowhere near that. Even if I was allowed it... I can't stomach more than 3oz of anything at this point. I do do a yogurt and can do 4oz of cottage cheese. Nothing else though. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Oh yes I love creativity. Have you seen the Campbell's Well Yes Sipping Soups? Love them. I have sugar free jello and pudding, popsicles. Broth makes me feel good and warm tea. For some reason yogurt doesn't agree with me right now anyway. Create, create, create. This is absolutely normal. I thought for sure they didn’t do anything to my stomach because liquids and even yogurt went down with no problem. Once I started on soft foods I was like “WOW” - major restriction. Good luck!!

I was told that anything 9 grams or below of sugar is ideal. The NUT highly recommended OIKOS triple Zero, though it isn't my fave. I do prefer either the Dannon LIght and Fit CHerry greek yogurt or the Fage plain yogurt, though that is an acquired taste. I now love it! I do put some granola in it when I can find a decent one with low sugar.

Mix sugar-free pudding mix into plain yogurt. It gives it a cheesecake texture and you can control the amount of sweetness by adding small amounts. Smoosh up berries or other fruits and add to plain. My NUT told me foods had to have 10 grams of sugar or less, so I use Chobani Hint, they use a tiny amount of real sugar and fruit. It does have more sugar than something like Triple Zero, but I have remained in ketosis with it and it hasn't encouraged cravings. The artificially sweetened yogurt literally makes me want to vomit. I wonder if you could mix half plain and half artificially sweetened to create not-to-sweet, not-too-sour.

I NEED SAVORY!!!

So I went to the store and was inspired! Fage yogurt has 22g per cup. So I made a pureed Raita. Those of you who enjoy Indian food will know what that is. It came out delish!! I also found some 30g smoothies in the produce section that seem doable and I added a scoop of protein powder to my tomato soup and measured out 5 portions from the one can. It's coming together, I was just at rope's end this morning!!! Thanks for the ideas and support! -
Hi everyone! I'm brand new, and I just had my surgery last week. I'm on the full liquid diet, which includes yogurt. I am having a really hard time finding a low fat yogurt with artificial sweeteners. I tried the Oikos Triple Zero, and even though I could tolerate it pre-op, it makes me extremely nauseous now. Does anyone have any recommendations of yogurt brands or styles? All of the Greek yogurt brands I have found seem to have like 6-7 grams of sugar, which I believe it too much, and haven't found any that are artificially sweetened (aside from Triple Zero). Thanks!

Take some yogurt and thin it out with some milk (I use either Lactaid 1% or Fair Life Skim.)

Back to 155, y'all but it is hell week (funny I'm not ravenous like usual) but I noticed I'm sooooo lazy when it comes to food. I need to get it together. My devolving faux sushi should have been a sign. But no. If it's not easy like salad or yogurt, I don't want it. That pizza was the best im gonna do for the week. 😂. No I'll get it together, maybe some beans (out the can over a campfire) How is everyone else doing? -
Ursidol (crushed) was one of the worst parts of this Baritric experience! Once I could include some yogurt in my diet, I would put yogurt on a spoon, sprinkle the ursidol on top, and then try to swallow it as quickly as possible without it touching my tongue, but even that was only partially successful. Once I was 3 weeks out I could swallow it without crushing it, and that was a HUGE day! 😂 hang in there, you’ve got this!

Since I was only eating 2 oz. at a time per my dr., I had whatever I thought would be good + my protein. I (and my friend who was sleeved before me) became obsessed with premade mashed potatoes with butter, something I NEVER would have had while dieting. Also, mashed avocado, hummus, and Yoplait yogurt whips were all things I liked. I just made sure I drank my protein. I like the taste of Premier Protein Shakes and now I drink Isopure Black Tea protein water. When the portions are so small, it can be fun to have something you wouldn't usually eat, in my case, white carbs (the mashed potatoes).

Honestly, I don't think this stuff is so scary. It was for my brother, but probably not for me since I've been donating blood for years. I think I'm over 7 gallons now. The kidney doc has been waiting it out. Wants to see if having me stop supplements will lower the calcium blood level. Once he started questioning it, though, I started tracking my intake. Other than a couple of yogurts a day, and some in protein shakes, I don't ingest much calcium besides when I was taking the supplements. I don't think I was anywhere near the levels where my kidneys shouldn't have been able to remove it. If it hasn't gone down this time I think he'll do more testing. @GreenTealael Believe it or not, my brother now has to get iron infusions. They can't get his levels balanced UGH! Sorry you're going through this. -

I was sleeved on 11/28. For me, eating kinda sucks. I eat most of a scrambled egg for breakfast. I have 1-2 tablespoons of regrows beans for lunch, and maybe some cream of chicken soup with some chicken chunks (wellchewed). I try to get in some protein shake or high protein yogurt between meals. And maybe a sugar free popsicle at night. The first lunch of received beans came back up - at work :(.

Depends on your doc. I had full liquids for two weeks, but was allowed lentil soup on day 3, yogurt after day 5, cottage cheese after 5 and hummus and peanut butter at 10, yet the stage was still called full liquids.

Intermittent Fasting Questions

I don't have a schedule by the surgeon. Just breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. That just happens to be when I eat, and there's enough time between each one. I am pretty much just having 3 or 4 of the 5 right now, and he says that's fine. My personal schedule is 8-9 yogurt, 10-11 small snack, 12-1 lunch, 5 dinner. *shrug* I go to bed at 7pm! lol. How in God's name do you stay up from 4am to 11pm. I would be dead. lmao. I get up at 7 and go to bed at 7 and want to die. -
Still considering- have some questions
jenniferinfl posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 36- I weigh around 240 and I'm 5' 6". I was this weight at the age of 12. I managed to lose 100 lbs when I was 17 or so with an extreme diet where I would just eat a can of soup and a nonfat yogurt and that would be all my food for the day. A bit disordered. I kept off 80 lbs of that for around 10 years and then it came crashing back on in a 3 month time period and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I manage to lose 30 lbs or so, but, then it creeps back on. I have one kid, I gained 80 lbs while pregnant due to preeclampsia but was back to prepregnancy weight in just three weeks, so, just water weight. I know that I really have to do some kind of weight loss surgery. I know how to lose weight, I've done it before and maintained it for years, but,it just doesn't work anymore. I'm thinking I should do a real gastric bypass since I've lost the weight before and kept it off and now can't lose, so, probably can't get away with the less drastic procedures. My insurance will not cover it. My work got a new plan a couple years ago and they did include gastric bypass. You just had to have the insurance for a year. So, I met with a doctor, did my monitored diet and all that crap and then by the time the year was up the insurance company dropped weight loss surgery. I was furious because I did all the preapproval work just waiting on my year to be up and then they pull that crap. I will be doing this in Mexico. I have no comorbidities other than slightly elevated liver numbers. Cholesterol under 200, glucose under 100, a1c was normal. My doctor hates it because she has to tell me my labs are perfect after lecturing me about the health concerns of being a fatty. But, you all know exactly how that is..lol Here are my concerns. I love fruit and vegetables. I eat around 800 grams of them per day. The UK does fruit and veg servings easier, 80 grams is a serving and thus 800 grams is 10 servings. I'm guessing that's why my lab work is good despite being obese. Obviously, I won't be able to eat ten servings of fruit and veg a day after surgery. What will I still be able to eat? I've already mostly dealt with my food demons, gave up soda in my 20s. I'm still drinking coffee. Will I still be able to drink coffee after bypass? My life sucks as it is. I can't get promoted at work and I know a big part of that is my weight. I'm the person that gets phone calls from other locations on how to do things. I work at a level three pay grades above my current level but can't get promoted to that level. I'm married and my husband is a normal weight vegan, so, that whole relationship sucks too. Everyone assumes that I'm lazy. I had a well-meaning friend invite me to go walking with her, a one mile loop. Seriously? I walk 5 miles everyday. Will my life suck less after bypass? I've mostly given up alcohol, but, weight loss surgery will have to be a secret from my local relatives. I will have to occasionally be able to drink a little alcohol. I will have to be able to drink a little coffee. I want to be able to eat fruit and vegetables. I just don't want to make my life worse than it already is. I'm lucky, never really had a binge disorder or anything like that. -
Keto Diet with weight loss surgery - What are your thoughts about it?
mousecat88 replied to erics300's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Real, serious for realsies keto you can't have yogurt (or pretty much any dairy except heavy cream and cheese). BUT, it's *really* only about the carbs at the end of the day. So if you can eat the yogurt and still be within the carb restriction, you should still see results. Just make sure the yogurt isn't too sugary because that will kick you out of ketosis. -
Sense of Taste Changed hurting the cooks feelings
AFVet replied to AFVet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Funny how that works. I filled the fridge with chobani yogurt pre-Surgery took one bite and it was awful. Ended up throwing out what my wife wouldn’t eat. Post surgery that flipped, its now one of only two that I do like and can eat. I’ll have a 3rd to half a cup for breakfast twice a week.
