Glad to know your'e doing good and that it will be better now for you. i think i've done what everybody told me not to do, and that's work out (weights) too much until you start turning fat into muscle. being that muscle weighs more that's one reason why i probably have'nt seen much weight lost lately, but at the same time i'm soo damn nervous and afraid that my body will not bounce back when i do finish losing the weight. so i'm just up in the gym like a darn fool because i don't want alot of flab. so now i think i'm going to walk everyday and workout(weights) a few times a week, also it's about time for my 3rd fill (Jan. 19th). So i'll set this plan in motion and see what happens after that.

Hey-Dallas is a good place and very affordable. I have two daughters and they can make it on their own in an apt. I would be happy to lend advice or a helping hand if it gets to that point.
Well, I have to "get" my medical records. How much is that gonna cost?? I've been with one drs office since 2006, but need a 5 yr history of records. I'll schlep over to the other office next week when I'm off and see what I can do. I have not lost one pound of weight since going to the nutritionist. I've actually gained 4! I'm not seriously trying either. I do write stuff down and I was really honest the first 3 weeks, now I just put down what she wants to see. I'm only cheating myself, but I can live with that for now.
I turned 49 last month and I am ready to get on this journey. I want to be healthier and feel better before 50! I'm still hoping for April. Will definitely keep you posted. Kathi

Hi. I wish they would let me do a diet like that with real food! Mine is putting me on a liquid diet called Optifast. It's 5 shakes a day...period. I hear the first few days are hell, but afterward it gets better. 2 weeks of that! Yikes! But I also hear that you can lose up to 20 lbs. on the liquid diet! It would be a good head start to the weight loss. Then I have to be on the liquid diet for 1 more week after the surgery. Good luck with your diet and keep in touch...we will need support during this week! Take care!

You are my inspiration!! I was banded 10-6-08 and I have lost 50#'s so far....but, I have only had one fill, and I dont see/feel much difference....sorta bummed about that. I have gained a pound or two since then too. I dont go back to the Dr. until the end of March, so I guess I am trying to hold on. Thanks for your inspirational photos and stories!!
Keep up the good work!!

Continued...Maybe the one that inspired you to have the band surgrey!! When you first see the scales move down you will be excited. But sometimes weeks pass and their isn't much of a number loss. These pictures will keep you inspired. When I lost my 50 pounds, I knew I felt better and I was excited about losing this weight. However, I was still a plus size and it is difficult to see the difference. I know that sounds strange but I never really saw how big I was and I am now shocked at the difference I see. So when I get stuck at weight for a long time I can look at my before pictures and then at my now pictures and it makes me feel soooo good. Sometimes when my weight isn't changing I am still losing inches. I do really recommend you taking that before picture. Some place in your house where you can repeat the pose in a couple of monthes ... to get a good comparison. It will help inspire you thru the tough times!

I had knee replacement surgery abt 6 wks before the band. I had lost some after that. Then I lost some on the optifast that Dr had us drink for 14 days before surgery. And then there's the weight I lost after being banded. I had absolutely no appetite after my knee surgery.

actually a little depressed i gained back 4 lbs
i don't know what to do b/c i've been eating right (except for a small peice of cake) but that was it! That shouldn't have caused me to gain 4 lbs. I guess I just have to wait til i go to my appt on the 16th. I'm glad that you were able to eat fine today. That soup never tasted as good as it did today huh? its amazing the things you miss when you can't have it.

I had a hiatal hernia too. You already had a fill? My first fill will be the last week in March. When I went to my 2 week post op on 2/24 I was down 15 pounds since surgery. They told me not to expect any more weightloss until my first fill UNLESS I only eat 1/2 cup each meal. Then I may lose more. Well, I can eat normal now so half cup just isn't enough. But I have been eating low calorie, low fat, sugar free foods and doing the treadmill so I at least won't gain weight. I've been very lucky not to have acid refulx anymore. No more sleeping sitting up! But since I have been eating normal I haven't lost any more weight. I'm just trying to be patient until my next fill and keep myself motivated to stay active and smart eating. I'm curious as to how you are doing now as well. It seems everything changes weekly, doesn't it? How are your incisions? Mine are almost gone. I'll have a scar from my liver one because it did get infected for a day.

Hi I joined WW last Thursday. I also feel I need the weekly weigh ins. I was banded in Sept. and I am struggling. I lost 20 lbs in the first 2 months and have not lost anything since. I made it through the holidays without gaining, that made me happy. I don't feel I am eating too much just the wrong things. I eat soft foods (tuna, scambled eggs, yogurt) that goes through me really fast and I am hungry 1 hour later. I just do not know what to do.
I would love to hear back from you and tell how WW is working for you.

hey lady, glad to hear from you. i'm not sure what we are going to do about these "FAT GURL TENDENCIES". i think with time we will get better but i swear i sometimes feel like i cant pass up or pass by some foods..lol you are still doing good . i did not get my 4th fill yet but i did start the slim-fast, which only keeps the hunger away for about an hour not 4hrs. i did not weigh myself yet either, sometimes it can be very dicouraging to have a scale in the house. i have stepped it up in the gym and do the treadmill for 45min. and weights for 45min. but hey i'll be the first to admitt that i have a few days where i slack off before i snap back to it. just pick back up the next day and keep it moving, we will get there.

Hello Mass Bandsters! I have been stuck at the same weight for quite some time. Not going to complain since I am doing so well, however, last week I went on a cruise and lost 3 lbs!! Holy Crap! I am so excited! Don't know if I got stuck in a rut and needed to switch things up or what. I ate very well on the cruise just more then usual. So maybe that was the trick. Also exercised a lot ~ same as usual ~ but did different types. So if your stuck in a rut like I was try switching it up a bit. Hope all is well with everyone. Good Luck! I am 13lbs away from my final goal. Had a blast wearing all my new size 4 & 6 clothes on the cruise!!!!

Hi my name is Nicole and I'm due to be banded on 4/15/09 and I'm just looking to hear some good things about the surgery from people that have been banded already. How long was your hospital stay, how much weight have you lost since the surgery and can you tell that you have lost this weight? Any additional information is helpful.
