  1. week 2 of my pre op diet..the world hasn't ended lol

  2. Learning that if I follow the guidelines, the weight is going to come off. I'm down 3 pounds already for the week, 16.5 total in December. My official weekly weigh-in day is on the 25th. I don't really need to over-think things. I'm getting to the stage, though, where I really want some phase 2 foods (puree/soft food) - which I move on to on Christmas day (yay me)! I'm fantasizing about cottage cheese w/salsa, hummus, scrambled eggs, egg salad, tuna salad, blended soups, real smoothies instea...

  3. Today is the day I start my two week diet! I'm nervous but excited!

Thanks chasingadream! And kris my diet isn't that bad. I can have two shakes, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruit and vegetables.

  4. I measured out a teaspoon of smooth natural nothing added pb and savored every lick! I'm less than 2 weeks post op. It tasted fantastic. It's a soft food right?

Not a good choice. A lot of fat, sugar and not much protein

try some almond butter, I gave up peanut butter a few months ago and switched to almond butter instead. I only buy the all natural no stir from MaraNatha and I keep it to about 1 tsp. Fat from almonds is healthier than peanuts

I did the same thing. My nut said it's actually a good protein choice if I go for the natural, nothing added, and keep it to a tsp. I love it as a treat.

    How I want to look

These are pictures of how I used to look 10 years ago. I'll be going to the new comers seminar at the hospital next week. So I'm as new as a newby can be. But I've scanned the web and quizzed my primary care and all my specialists. They all say I should have it, in spite of being on Coumadin/Warfarin & Plavix. It's a risk for me to have dental work. So I don't go under the knife without a hell of a BANG for the buck. Even though the buck ain't mine. I'm on Medicare A&B. I've been delaying this for about 2 years. Because I feel the Vertical Sleeve is better for me. So, I'm going for the Lap Band.

only problem with paleo , full on, is it puts a heavier workload on your liver. So watch your potassium and magnesium levels. Other than that, KICK ASS! way to go!

very true about the liver, be careful and rock on!

    3. Zoey716

      Zoey716

Thanks @Stevehud & @ShrinkingPeach - I'm on a different set of vitamins & minerals to help support macrominerals. I've been about 80-85% paleo during this challenge. It's been a bit easier than I thought. It's nice to break free from all the fake foods that we are always surrounded by! :) 10 days to go! :)

You can do this! It sets you up for success in the end and is well worth it. Just keep your eye on the prize! Good luck!

  25. Cleaned out my closet this past weekend. Three large black trash bags full of clothes that I no longer intend to wear. I have all sizes (the ones I may lose and wear again some day)! Advertised on Social Media that I would meet on a parking lot and give them away. I pray that I can help another woman in the community that is struggling. Maybe some new clothes will give them the encouragement they may need at this time. I have a problem with shopping and they are all nice clothes....just hope it makes their day!
