    80 pounds gone

2/3 of my excess weight is gone, another 40 pounds to go. God I used to have gorgeous hair but oh well, it will grow back! :) Love the new, younger looking me!
  2. Well this is my first post. I decided to get weight loss surgery about 4 months ago. I was going thru alot with my health. Shortness of breathe, pain in all my joints, and having problems walking. Well this journey actually started back in 2011 when I fell at work. Since then I have had 5 surgeries and one more that is being scheduled after weightloss surgery. I also had gained about 50 lbs and my health kept deteriorating . I had gone to several doctors for all my issues and had all the necessary test and had followed several different diets.Everything needed for surgery without actually knowing I had already meet all the criterias. So when I went to Brookdale Hospital for a my Gastric sleeve appointment i already had almost everythng I needed except physic , nutrionist, and sleep apnea test. Well as of the middle of May all paperwork was in and papers were submitted to Insurance Company and as of May 26 I have been approved for surgery. Surgery date is June 13, 2016 and I am now into my second week of pre-op diet . I started this journey with a weight of 230 I am 5'4" and now weigh 215. I have studied everything from pre-op diets, post-op diets and the journey afterwards. Well Im one week away from surgery and I am becoming more and more anxious with less and less energy. Doing everything correct following diet and taking all my vitamins and using all my protein powders yet finding it harder and harder to function as a normal person. Well I guess thats it for now Ill post again as time goes by.

  3. I officially weight less than my husband. Only by 1 lb, but I'll take it!!!!

      her1981

@Christinamo7 he was almost upset about it. I'm not sure why though. I would think a man would want his woman to weigh less.

maybe he's just competitive! David wanted to loose 10 pounds but I said, hold on there and let me get a little further ahead of you. :-) or else don't tell me.

  4. My stress-induced weight loss seems to be slowing. Two mornings in a row now with no loss, which is a big relief!

That's good! I hope the stress in your life is getting better. I went through a period of about a year where my work stress was killing me. I was able to find a new job, thank goodness, and was so much happier.

  5. I have broken the 3rd stall since surgery and am down 8 more pounds for a total of 47 since surgery 15 weeks ago. 230 pounds gone from my highest weight. That new scale I got on Monday was kind of not liking either my body or maybe where I placed it as it wouldn't register for me. The number after the . wouldn't stop moving and the scale never beeped like it did for my roommate when he got on it. Yesterday the scale finally registered a weight for me. I moved it and got on it naked where as before I had clothing on.

  11. I hit 1 year on Sunday and haven't lost any weight for several months. I still have 30 lbs to go. In my head I know that losing over 100 lbs is good, but I get so mad at myself for sneaking into old habits and losing focus. It's time to kick it in gear!

  12. FINALLY seeing the difference in my weight now! Only took 7 months!

  13. Settling into the day to day sleeved life. It doesn't seem like work like it did in the beginning. I am sure it will again as I get close to goal and work to get those last few pounds off. Looking forward to seeing what I look like as I have never been a normal weight...lol

      Mountaingal

Glad it is getting easier. Will be very interesting for you as you reach your goal . I have a friend dealing with the same thing, no idea how she will look at a "normal' weight. Hope you love what you see in the mirror.

  14. Really frustrated! I assume my body is in shock from losing so much the first to weeks, and adding the multi vitamin with iron didn't help, and the monthly visitor, but seriously, gaining a pound??

    1. jane13

      jane13

I use to gain 3-5 from "Aunt Flo"!

drink, walk and stay away from processed foods (salt) and of course, don't add any salt.

Stalls are inevitable - you will have them and some weeks you will gain. stay the course :D

  15. 60% of my excess weight is gone as of today. According to the surgeon's office, I'm now a textbook success - I'm not done yet, though!

I have been wondering about this too. They lose like 90 lbs in 90 days on Extreme Weight Loss. I'm not sure if that would be too much or not?

Before plastic surgery. Post weight loss

I had Gastric Sleeve Surgery August 2011. I losit 120lbs. My weight on these pictures was 142lbs. They were taken my my plastic surgeon, Dr Victor Gutierrez located in Baja California, Tijuana, Mexico. I chose him as my plastic suregeon based on his educational background, experience, professionalism, health care concern and reasonable price quote. This pictures clearly show lots of extra skin. My asymmetrical breasts, hanging stomach, and flat butt.

    My Journey

October 31, 2011 was when my new life begin. After the passing of my dad in March 2011, I realized I was an excellent caretaker for him, but not of myself. My weight had ballooned and my health was in trouble. The realization that I had just buried my dad, and if I did not take control of my life, my mom would be burying me. I chose life and had gastric bypass on Halloween last year. My life could not be better. (Ok, so I could have a man in my life, but hey it's very good). My starting weight was 268 size 22 and I wear a size 12 now! Life is good and I am blessed! I don't know what God has in store for the next half of my journey, but I am ready for the ride.

  24. after losing weight did anybody have an issue with a tattoo they had when they were larger

    1. JamieLogical

      JamieLogical

I don't have any tattoos, but I could definitely see how that could become a problem, depending on where the tattoo is, how much weight you lose, and how much loose skin you have in the area.
