    Genepro protein rocks!

All I can go off is my nutritionist, my surgeon, my GP and my hematologist. . All put genepro at the top of their list. I have to believe in what they say.

    Need a buddy.

I am a couple weeks further along than you. I eat pretty much what I want (as low fat as possible) Two weeks ago I was in a terrible stall. It was my third one but this lasted over a week. I eat what I want. I had to add a protein powder back into my diet. I got sick on a grilled piece of chicken and just can't seem to eat solid meats tonight I had about 1/2 of a tamale with 2 tlb spoon beanless chilli and 1 tlb spoon fat free sour cream. Lunch was 1 baked salmon patty with ketchup, breakfast a 80 calorie light and fit yogurt with 1 tlb spoon genepro protein powder.
  3. So I graduated to purees on Monday, woohoo! But I've been struggling along with them, booo. A few bites of scrambled eggs here, then I get overfull and barf delicately into the sink. A few bites of blenderized chicken Soup there, I get overfull and barf delicately into the sink. And hey, I'm a pretty good barfer. But that overfull feeling SUCKED. So finally, I made a decision the day before yesterday. I decided that consuming food was going to be an unpleasant necessity, something I'd just have to get through, but wouldn't look forward to or enjoy. (I also quit eggs and chicken!) What a difference! I exceeded my Protein goals yesterday and focused on non-meats like hummus and cheese and soup (blended sweet potato soup with GENEPRO this time!). I was able to eat much more (over 1/4 cup at lunch and dinner) and never felt overfull. That adjustment in expectations and the subsequent change in what I ate totally helped. So there you have it--eating sucks for a while after surgery, and that's Ok! You will figure out how to make it work.
  4. I am 2 weeks out and I'm feeling good but I'm not able to get in all 120 mg of the Protein that I'm needing. I sip Water and Gatorade all day can't finish one in a day this is really troubling I'm not even hungry I eat Jello a lot I'm tired of jello I can start my soft foods tomorrow so hopefully I can get more protein in with that. I ordered GENEPRO protein to make the size of protein to go in the food or drink and not change the consistency. Any other ideas on getting in protein?? Help me!! Almost 5 days post-op and on mushy/pureed stage

Thank you so much! I've been concerned that I am progressing too fast. After hearing about you and your wife's similar plan, it certainly helps. What did you eat during your soft/mushy/puree stage? Did you have vegetables? Any recommendations other Genepro? One thing I really like about Genepro is that there is no after-taste and that the protein scoop is not HUGE.

Almost 5 days post-op and on mushy/pureed stage

Your post-op progression is not at all unreasonable, and is consistent with what the more experienced sleeve/DS practices do. Both my wife and I were on soft/mushy/puree in the hospital (as tolerated). Some patients may stay on more liquids longer depending upon how much inflammation they have in the stomach. My wife was slower to progress than I was, but within the normal expectations for the program. If your protein requirements are only 40g, which is on the low side (typically 50-60g minimum for smaller women,) I would certainly use something better than Genepro, as that stuff, at best, is substantially overstated in its' protein content.

    3 more weeks

Here were my must haves: Protein shakes- GNC has them on sale buy one get one 1/2 off. Broth (I make my own) Genepro Gas X Almond milk with added protein Isopure for my first two days on clear liquids
  8. I make a crustless quiche that I eat everyday. You can change up the flavor profile by what you add. My favorite is bacon, swiss, green onion, roasted red peppers and mushrooms. 5 eggs 1 C cottage cheese Any cheese, veggies, seasoning or meat you want to add. I also add 1 or 2 scoops GENEPRO to up the Protein. Just whip together and pour into a greased pie pan. Bake at 400 F for about 30 - 35 minutes. Makes 6 good size portions.

I hate that I had this surgery

GENEPRO helped me with this. I added a scoop to my hot decaf tea and a scoop to my broth. I drank both all day. I strained out the noodles from Lipton chicken noodle Soup. I told all my friends in my support group that. It really turned my mind around. 24 hours later I felt much better. I hope your doctors appointment goes well on Monday. Honest truth about genepro protein powder

It sounds like you're doing pretty well with the GENEPRO. I've read so many good reviews on it that I decided to go ahead and purchase a couple of sample packets so I can give it a try. Hearing good results like yours really makes me hope it works well for me. I'd like to have one Protein supplement that will work in most anything I want to put it in. May I ask....what kinds of problems are you having with meat? I haven't had my surgery yet, and it hadn't occurred to me that there could be problems with eating meat afterward. I've always been a meat and potatoes person who eats meat with every meal.

Honest truth about genepro protein powder

I've been using the GENEPRO and like that I can put it into anything. Does anyone know if there are other brands of flavorless Protein available on the market? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Honest truth about genepro protein powder

I love genepro! Truly the best I have ever had, im 5 months out and down 84 lbs and it has really helped.me
  14. I've been using GENEPRO for a long time, almost as my sole source, all my labs have been perfect (total Protein, Albumin/Globulin.. Etc). I couldn't find any independent data on the product as well, and have even wrote them. To purify Proteins through column chromatography is nothing new, nor is electrophoresis (I'm a protein purification scientist) but I really wanted to see some data but to no avail. Maybe they are worried another company will copycat them (understandably) but at least I can go by my labs. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

    Post-Op Protein HELP!!

I am right there with you. The struggle is so real and everyone seems to think you just have to "find a way" but the fact is, you are trying but your body and stomach just rejects it. I had to pray and get divine power because I was in tears. I'm not there yet, but I am seeing a little progress in tolerance for the Genepro protein powder if I put it in liquid first, shake well and then put it in soups I enjoy ( the broth). I have a ninja blender so it blends any grit taste out 90%. I'm learning to give myself a good balance of grace and perseverance through drinking. Nothing is Goldilocks "just right" perfect yet, but I've accepted that that's okay. It's easy for some people to get there protein grams in and others struggle, but know that you doing great. You made a healthy and bold decision for a better life, applaud yourself for that first! I made this post a few days ago and maybe it will help you. Just look for the title in this thread and feel free to private message me if you need to. You are NOT ALONE!!! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app

    Do I Smell Different?

I have genepro as well. I like 30g protein in such a small scoop but the powder makes things taste sweeter to me. But everything tastes sweet to me now....
  17. I'm ok with Premier. Chocolate and Vanilla... not so much the caramel, strawberry etc. they also make organic versions if that's your thing. Didn't like GenePro powder at all.

WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?

I will try the warm water. I do drink the sugar free propel and crystal lite throughout the day. I don't seem to like water right now, so I don't drink enough of it. I don't drink the protein shakes much either, but I did buy some Genepro unflavored protein powder and mix it in things to make sure I get my protein in everyday. I should probably not get on the scale everyday when I am in a stall! Hopefully things will get moving again in both areas lol.

Honest truth about genepro protein powder

Has anyone actually had blood work done to check their Protein levels since starting on GENEPRO? I mean lab results from your own doctor that show it works as they claim it does? I'm interested, but their claims sound too good to be true. I don't want to take it thinking I'm getting the protein my body needs after bypass surgery and then find out it's all a sham. But I haven't seen one review yet that's supported by factual evidence of protein levels in the body after taking the product for any length of time. Have you had any other noticeable results (or problems) since you started taking Genepro?

    Late June Sleeve Buddies?

Hello everyone! Today is my two week post op mark. I've been on puréed foods since the 1st. I have to say that cottage cheese is the best thing so far. I just tried some mashed potatoes thinned out with some gravy and it was good but I could only have 4 bites before getting full. I am still struggling with protein goals. I can't tolerate the shakes post surgery, they make me feel sick. The GENEPRO will be here Thursday I hope that works out. I have been staying hydrated the best I can. It just feels like I'm non stop sipping on something just to get the required amount of fluid so I don't dehydrate. Fourth of July weekend was hard. Everyone was having burgers and hotdogs and I was having 4oz of cottage cheese. Oh well. The best part was this morning when I stepped on the scale... I'm down over 20lbs!! Late June Sleeve Buddies?

For those of you that are having trouble with Protein shakes. I too find them making me feel ill post surgery. I have been using GENEPRO by Musclegen Research for over a week now and it has been great. I put it in almost everything. One tablespoon is 30 grams. So it is easy to get between 60 and 90 grams in a day. I've put it in cottage cheese, yogurt, Soup, mashed potatoes, almost everything! No taste whatsoever!! Seriously it's been great. It was recommended buy my nutritionist. I'm thankful she did. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
