I am really frustrated lately. I’m 2 months post op... My last post op appointment with my surgeon was February 19, and since then I’ve only lost 3 pounds! Is this normal???? I’ve been bouncing back and forth between 313 and 311 on the scale. I try to only weigh in 2 times a week. I’ve lost a total of 58 pounds so far. My caloric intake is between 900-1100 calories per day and I’m taking in 50-64 ounces of unsweetened iced tea per day. (I hate drinking water, and digestive system does not accept artificial sweeteners... IBS, sorry for TMI) I do drink one cup of coffee per day with 1 teaspoon of dairy free creamer as well. I do not drink protein drinks due to extreme nausea but substitute solid proteins to compensate to be sure I’m getting enough protein daily. (Canned tuna or chicken in water for example) Due to lymphedema I will be seeing a physical therapist at the end of the month for an evaluation. Hopefully this will give me a kick start and get things moving again. But would love to get some suggestions from the gastric sleeve community in the meantime. This stall has lasted too long in my book, and I’m just feeling defeated. It would be nice to know I’m not the only one going through this alone. Thanks in advance for any input!

Is there anything you wish you'd been told pre-op?
Vizslamom replied to Pippa1703's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same constipation problem as not my name. Suffered for a week after surgery. TMI time - I could feel the plug through my vaginal wall. Laxatives only caused me to pass new stool around it. I had to clear up the problem as my husband was having brain surgery and I would shift from my surgery recovery to his. I had no pain from the surgery, but had Rx for gabapentine (blocks nerve pain) and a muscle relaxer. The combination of the two got me to pass the plug. I still have occasional problems with constipation and even after 6 months I take a stool softener daily. Second is you don’t know what you’re restriction will be like. While my meal size is substantially smaller than before the sleeve - I eat way more than many people on the board. And I can eat anything except over cooked dried out meat. I joined Noom after the new year to help me eat healthier. This has helped tremendously, A nutritionist visit every three months was not enough to help me eat properly. -
I am a week pos-op and I am doing great. I have been taking care of myself since I got home. I am 63, by the way, I did a lot of prep work though. I filled the kitchen with the fluids and pureed food that i need post-op. It made the first couple of days home much easier. Other than the diarrhea (sorry if that is TMI) I have had no issues. My surgery was done laparoscopic so I have 5 small incisions, and the one that they used to remove the portion of my stomach that was removed through was sore for about 4/5 days, but I didn't need anything but tylenol for the pain. If you don't feel that your doctor is giving you enough information, keep on pressing for answers. You are paying him/her for their services and you have the right to know everything! If you aren't comfortable with this doctor, maybe you need to find one that you are more comfortable with. You will need to have a long term relationship with your doctor and their team. Good luck!

October 2018 Sleever - Pictures Update - LOST OVER 100LBS!

It was just as bad for you too then I think one of the greatest godsends for plus size gals are leggings!! They're stretchy and you can dress them up or down. But I still love my leggings! I felt like the plus size stuff at the "cooler" stores was outrageously priced too! Also, being tall and having really long arms I have NEVER been able to find shirts long enough for my arms, it always looks like I'm wearing a baseball tee! LOL It's like most designers assume if you're an overweight woman, you're also short. *GRUMBLE* I'm doing the same, shopping at Walmart for basics like leggings and shirts (I work from home so I RARELY have to look presentable) LOL! But it saves money until I hit my goal. TMI but I did a little splurge at Victorias Secret. As a woman, being able to go in and buy something off the rack was so amazing, I literally cried in the store. HA! But you're right about Costco...I have to check them out. I haven't been brave enough to wear a pair of jeans yet...maybe soon, but you bet they'll be cheap! hahaha! -

I second the comment about constipation. I mean, doc told me that I could get constipated, but I'd never had that happen to me, so I just thought it meant having a little trouble going. TMI ALERT: I didn't realize that I'd ultimately end up for over an hour and a half on the toilet, exhausted, crying, and bleeding, and still unable to get the poop that was part way out all the way out. This happened twice. And I didn't learn until later that my doc would have liked me to go to the hospital when that happened. Nor did I realize that "getting it under control" still means that it takes me at least 20 mn to go. -
Stomach noises after gastric bypass

YES!! I had it 2/18. It was quiet for the first 2 days then my intestines finally started to "wake up". It sounded like thunder but finally stopped after my first BM (sorry TMI) on day3/4. -
I had my surgery jan 22 2018, I am about to be 13 months out. (34year old, 5'7) What a journey. Started at 402lbs, a weight I now can't believe I had. it's crazy and unreal. My skin DOES reminds me that "hey you had that weight" but I am trying to have less floppy skin I wish I worked on it before but it's fine. And maybe tmi but also working on my breasts so they are less in a sad shape. I don't necessarily eat well and I probably eat less that I am supposed to but I am proud. 13 months ago i was at 323.4lbs, today I am at 187.8, sometimes i gained 1-4lbs, then i lose it back and lose some more. I only really had one plateau that lasted a month, i had some plateau that lasted a week or even two but after weight somewhat catched up, losing in general from 6lbs to 10-12lbs per month, I still got a few to lose to not be in "bmi overweight" but i am no longer in obesity. I am focusing more on my skin then my weight loss. I wouldn't say surgery changed my life, but yes it improved it. I sometime see myself bigger then I actually am. I am still afraid to sit in booth thinking I won't fit... yet i fit with space to go. my shirt size went from like 3x to M or L. picture of day of surgery at 323 and now

My pain was in my left upper quadrant. It could have been gas pain. I know this is TMI but I didnt pass gas until yesterday morning. Whick I don't understand because I was up walking every hour for 3 or 4 laps which these laps weren't small it was actually 2 halls that I went down it wasna circle. I was walking about 15 minutes out of the hour. In the middle of the night if I got up to go potty I made at least 1 or 2 laps. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app -
January surgeries?!
melimel35089 replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg I just threw up my first time I only had mashed up tuna and mashed up boiled egg like 3oz and threw it all up. My first sensation was uncomfortableness, excessive salvia and the overwhelming need to throw up. Sorry tmi I just never experienced it until now yuck 🤢 -
magnesium citrate. extreme pain. help.

Omg it was so awful. It's been 2 hours and it still hurts. I take Colace 3 times a day and Miralax daily. At Day 6 I am told to try suppositories, which don't work. Senna tea USUALLY does the trick, but didn't this time; I drank it twice. Leading me to here... curled up in a ball wishing for a swift death. Why the hell would he recommend something that was carbonated like that!? I noticed a small amount of fizz but figured it was okay since he said it was. Got 5 oz down. NEVER.AGAIN. I am peeing from the wrong place now. TMI. Do you think mineral oil is okay? I am eating roughage now, too. My water is good for where I'm at... about 60 to 70oz a day and increasing. I was told no fiber since I had the hernia repair. I am still shook over what I just experienced. -
Here I am post OP day 3. I honestly feel really good. I haven't taken a pain pill since Wednesday, tylenol yesterday, nothing today. Tmi...I pooped for the first time this morning, so I am happy that's out of the way. I am actually debating going back to work on Monday and save that second week of vacation for true days off.

So i have this issue ,..major issue with constipation. I ended up calling my dr yesterday because for over a month i have been going once a week and then its like an act of congress to go.. I am having to use something, sometimes more than one thing to get this crap ( no pun intended) to move along LOL.. Anyways.. my dr yesterday said to take an enema last night( it was still an act of congress) and then to take ducolax every day for a week to stimulate the intestines, then to stop it once my body started to go normally again. My question is: Should i be taking this before bedtime each day or in the morning? Is there a difference, a time better than another! I should just call the Dr. back, but sometimes i feel like the office gets annoyed when i call LOL.

It all came right back out... TMI Chipotle is on the no fly list -
So we all know this life/surgery is not always sunshine and rainbows and I figured I’d make a thread for people to voice whatever is bugging them (related to surgery) that day... no matter how trivial it may seem. Sometimes it’s just therapeutic to vent. Sometimes hearing someone say, “oh I’ve been there, too!” can be helpful. My daily gripe? TMI alert Something made me throw up this morning. I think it was the iron pill I’ve recently been told to take. But ya know what really grinds my gears about this? The taste of the iron pill after throwing up the first time made me KEEP throwing up. Awful, awful, awful!

3 years post op. HELP! Experiencing bad pains
long_journey posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi there. Long story short. In the last 10 years I've had a lapband, sleeve and 3 years ago bypass. Two months ago, 5 month post birth, I had a massive right side pain. Couldn't move and ended up in emergency. The pain has not gone away. I've experienced the worse pains in my life radiating all over my body, I'm dizzy, bad nausea, confusion, pins and needles and numbness in my legs and lips, crippling pelvic pain, stabbing pains all over my abdomen, bad stitches in both sides, blurry vision, burning lower abdomen, lower back pain, right and left tip shoulder pain, chest pain, sore ribs, bruising all over my body, im exhausted, I fall asleep while driving and I even have (sorry tmi) green vaginal discharge. I've been living on pain killers just to make it through the day. Ive been living in constant pain for a long two months. I've had almost every test under the sun. My bloods are all normal (except a little low in iron). No gallstones detected. I've had an abdominal ultrasound, ct scan of my spine, abdominal MRI, pelvic exam, pelvic ultrasound sound - internal and external, a papsmear, vaginal swabs, in and out of emergency 6 times, bloods tests 7 times, urine tests and I'm losing weight super fast and not in a good way. Nothing has been detected what so ever. Everything comes back perfectly fine, I've only had a low grade fever. I had a endoscopy 5 months ago for reflux and all was fine so they won't perform another. My surgeon has been away but he is now sending me for a abdominal CT scan tomorrow and another gallbladder ultrasound. I've had a few doctors tell me it's all in my head or it's gallstones then constipation, then sti, nerve damage, then a pelvic infection, then ulcers, then spinal problems, then problems from pregnancy but it appears I am perfectly healthy and it's none of these things! I seriously can not handle this anymore... please has anyone ever experienced this from a bypass that can't seem to be detected? It's made me absolutely miserable. I see my surgeon on the 5th for my results. Until then any advice is appreciated!!! Sent from my Pixel 3 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Sleeved February 4, 2017 Bypass January 24, 2019 I had the revision due to acid reflux. I have a lot of discomfort in my upper back/shoulder area that I didn’t have after the sleeve. Yesterday I also had extreme constipation and think I may have pushed to hard (sorry TMI but I can’t find help online). Anyhow. I don’t have continual pain in my abdomen, just when I move and no leakage. It’s more the back pain/discomfort that is concerning me. Thinking about it it goes from mid back up to shoulders. I can only sleep lying on my back as I’m scared to lie on my side and end up getting up every 2 hours due to my back. So I guess my questions are: is this discomfort/pain normal? When should I be concerned? No vomiting, fast heart rate, nausea... I'm pretty sure the gas has passed now. Sorry this is all over the place. I hope this makes sense. It’s 136 am 😂

January surgeries?!

Lord have mercy now I know not to trust your farts! TMI sorry. Also pain still there and heart burn 😩 -
Sorry for the TMI post, but I'm curious to know if anyone else is experiencing very long, loud, stinky farts? If so, do you have solutions for this problem? Beano? Probiotics? Never leaving your house?
-
Sorry this is a gross question. Pre surgery when you vomit it is often a large amount and is not discreet to anyone nearby or in the public bathroom you could be in. After surgery you eat once a few ounces. Is it still obvious if you get sick or is it more discreet? I'm guessing its not projectile and not as obvious. I'm just wondering it seems like a lot of people vomit after surgery at some point at work, out in public etc and I am wondering how obvious it is to coworkers etc.

So it’s been a month since surgery. I’m down 20lbs. 🤗 but some days I poo a little and then I’ll poo a whole lot and get stomach pains. Then booty hole burns. I think it’s from acid or gas, idk. Anyone else have this??

Yesterday and today I am wiping orange after I pee/poop. Has anyone experienced this? I am 3 months post op?

Warning this rant is a little TMI. lol Weds I started my monthly flow and I started my liquid diet today also pre-admission testing today as well. I have 13 more days to go for my pre-op diet. I told my best friend to do a wellness check on my husband this weekend. lmao It's coming to the end of the day and my stomach wont stop gurgling. Its a loud gurgle sound too. It started happening about 5pm. I've had some looks from people because of how loud it was. haha I've had 4 protein shakes, 2 jell-o cups, 2 servings of broth and 50oz of water. My next protein shake isn't for another 1hour and I still have 2 more cups of water to drink. I don't have any food cravings but my stomach says feed me!!!! lol I've had the poos all day with a nasty headache. Just keep telling myself that tomorrow will be better and the day after will be better and the day after that will be better. haha Just feel like crawling into bed and waiting for Feb 1st to get here already.

I am close to a month out and until the other day had not bad any nausea/vomiting but it must have been something i ate. The question i have is it anyone else notice that when they got nauseous if you started spitting up a lot of saliva and then when you did vomit there was a good amount of foam?

I’ve been struggling lately with to much eating or eating the wrong thing. Still not eating a lot just getting past Christmas. I’ve had some issues with digestion like everyone else and a previous (TMI warning) anal fissure. Miralax instead of Stool softeners are being used. If it wasn’t for the fissures I would use more fiber. I would like to get back on track and I feel it starts this week. My late night 32oz of tea is not helping Got to cut it out. I’m trying more KETO oriented diet. Body Tech protein every morning I love the cinnamon cereal. I was just checking how is everyone else doing.
