Hubby and I traveled this weekend to watch my 2nd to the oldest get hitched. Normally I don't do pictures, but I smiled through wedding pictures. Also, though I'm not the bikini type, I did get into some short shorts and bikini top (not ready to show that off yet☺️ So I wore a tee over it.). I went into a swimming pool in public for the 1st time in 30 years.

HealthyNewMe replied to Leepers's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My husband has benefitted from my WLS too. He's eating healthier, cut out a lot of carbs, and joined the gym 8 months ago with me. We go 6-7 times a week...... He's down 50 too. Congrats to you snd your hubby. May there be many more NSV's in your future! -
I think those are the best kinds of NSVs - the ones that sneak up on you, then jump out and yell "Surprise!"

@@OKCPirate Love your NSV ideas. You have to tell us how it all worked out. Starting weight..oh yes staying afloat would be an issue Current weight I had to lift my butt out of the middle of the innertube lay flat on my back to reach the Water. It was the only way I could paddle and navigate down the river. Maybe I shrunk in height with my WLS. -

~hugs~ Lisa thanks for sharing that ...them NSV are the sweetest !!! -
This is my first time back to work and ordering with everyone. I felt really good being able to join in and not feel like I am so restricted. I just chose healthy and ate a small portion. We can get back to normal. This was a huge salad. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow. This is what I ordered Grilled Chick Salad w/ff feta This is what I ate from that. It took 35 min to eat.

I really enjoyed my Thanksgiving Day. :hungry: I plan on going walking today and this weekend. Piggyback off of Cha Cha dreams Tiny NSV's Running up and down the stairs and am not ready to drop dead Knees don't hurt as much when running up and down the stairs The band keeps me from filling a plate up with food, woofing it down and then go back for more. Private NSV for friend Able to sit with one leg under me without my leg falling off dead Able to comfortably do the sit sideway crossleg The confidence is amazing, I know it is also the coming of age....40 None of my clothes are tight anymore. LOL Did I tell you I love my collar bones. I can actually feel them and they are almost able to show all by theirselves if I position them right. LOL I'm so excited.:clap2:

So I'm at 7 weeks out and the weight loss has been very slow. I've only had one fill so far and have little to no restriction. I know that what I've done so far has been through sheer hard work and determination. But while the scale doesn't want to move, I've had three people at work approach me in the past week and ask if I've lost weight. So at least it's starting to show a bit - gives me motivation to keep it up!

I had to share because weight wise I've been holding steady around 225, but inches wise... I found my box of pre-pregnancy clothes (198 and a size 14/16 before I got prego 1/2010) - Just for shots and giggles I tried on what *used* to be my favorite bra... It fit! Then I pulled out a pair of pants... THEY FIT! Lastly I pulled out a shirt and IT FIT! I haven't been able to wear these clothes in 2 years and they freaking fit! I'm doing a little happy dance right now

Very Nice NSV!!! Congrats on your sleeve and congrats on no longer being winded. LOL....

After getting rid of all the clothes that are too big, doing laundry, and hanging up my new shirts, it sure feels GREAT for them to actually stay on the hanger! My "fat shirts" always would slip off! So, yay! Second, I started CrossFit today! I did it for almost one month last October (when I was 60 lbs heavier) and it was an awful experience. Not the actual workout or CF itself, but ME... I was miserable! Today was far different and I felt SO good when I left there. I can't wait to go back on Wednesday morning! Let the weight loss continue and the toning begin! What are some of your latest NSVs?

I am almost 6 months post op and took my first vacation this week (Drove up to Tahoe). I went with some friends who did not know about the surgery but knew I was actively losing weight and trying to eat healthier and it wasn't awkward at all. I didn't snack, but I did eat some meals I shouldn't have. But between watching how much and exercise, I was down just over 2 lbs for the week. In the past, anytime I vacationed I would be up so I'm super excited. I had some great NSVs while I was out. - Hiked almost every day - around 5 miles, intermediate hikes, at elevation. Still hard, but I did it. - Kayaked, and was able to get in and out easily. - They had standard size bath towels in the bathroom, and it wrapped all the way around me without a gap! - It was my birthday and I didn't have any cake, and really didn't miss it. I tried alcohol for the first time since surgery. I had a glass a wine a couple of times and did fine. However, I had about 1/3 of a margarita and felt awful. I don't think I full on dumped, but I think if I had drunk any more I would have. It's the first time I've had any amount of sugar so lesson learned. I'm going back to not drinking for a while (it will continue to be an occasional event going forward).

So I’ve been avoiding buying new clothes for as long as possible but today I have to go to the mall because I have decided I need new jeans. Last night at Orlando City’s home opener against DC United (MLS Soccer) we scored the equalizer in the last few minutes of the game and the supporter section went crazy. I went crazy. I high fived. I screamed. I jumped. And when I jumped... my pants fell off. [emoji23] A little “behind” show for the folks behind me! Luckily I was wearing cute undies and they were going as crazy as I was. Anyway, NSV, New Pants, Yay! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Now to find the healthy stadium food options...

Ok, so BIG NSV yesterday. Since before I had surgery 2 years ago, I dreamed of riding rides with my boys and knew it may never happen. We moved to Florida last year, and finally had a chance to visit Legoland yesterday. Not only was I able to keep up with them and their friends, I was leading the pack! AAAND riding roller coasters and other rides with them, and I didn't have to worry about fitting. There was ONE ride with a teeny car and the girl had to really push down on the bar to lock it, but that's ok! I've got a ways to go, but I've come SO far! I'm back on track with a trainer and we're going to get this job D O N E!!! KEEP WORKIN' IT PEOPLE!!!

5.5 Months Out, 61 Pounds Down, Sz 26- 14 And Feel Fatter Than Ever
Ms skinniness replied to slimshadee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, this is a problem for all of us. It is quite an adjustment to make. But your not done yet losing weight, your body is constantly redistributing the fat.... Take a deep breath when this happens and remind yourself how far you have come. You will have excess skin when you reach your goal, but it will look better and feel better than all that fat that use to be there. you have more energy and can do more things. You have many more NSV'S coming your way..... Sit back, smile, and enjoy the journey, you Rock! -
Looked back over my blogs and I realized I blogged about the day we went to the Third Day Concert (almost a year ago) and the shirt I wanted to wear didn't fit. Fast forward to today and I am wearing that shirt..the one that didn't fit!!! Hopefully the picture will attach. The pic on the left was last year and it's a picture of the Concert picture...but you get the idea. The one on the right is today. Not a before and after, but definitely a before and during!!
