  1. Tomorrow is 3 weeks Post op and I am a little discouraged at how slow the weight is coming off as I had a horrible start to all this?

Thanks Odesa, I always have wanted things now instead of being patient and letting things happen they way they are supposed to happen? I need to learn some patience?

      odesa

Hehe, we all need to learn it. I have to keep reminding myself that it took me 23 years to get to where I was so I'll need more than a few weeks to get back to where I should be. Pretty common sense stuff but I too can be impatient so just say to yourself "Marathon" and not "Sprint" :D

I will do that!!! Thanks :)

  2. Well I'm seven weeks out now. I have my energy back but not mch more than I had before the surgery. I is nice to not always feel hungry but also not to feel deprived at the same time. My headaches are gone that I use to have weekly before. I snore much less now and I went from a size 24 to a size 16 JMS jeans. I am quite happy about that. Sadly I looks like I did lose the girls so good thing for the Mommy Makeover I plan on having in a year or so.

  3. Haven't checked in here for a while. I ended up with a herniated disc and had surgery on March 17th. I'm on the mend and down 63 pounds (Wednesday will be 16 weeks post op)!!!! Whoo hoo! So close to getting under 200 pounds. I weighed in at 212 this week. Highest weight this time last year was 301. Surgery day I was 275. Thrilled to be dropping this weight!!

  10. Just a short note for those inquiring why I hurt & am on pain meds...IT IS PART GROWING OLDER & PART HEREDITY. I have cervical stenosis & will be having 3-4 of my neck vertebrae fused in the next few months. Causes severe pain/numbness in neck & arms & migraine headaches. Also just found out this week I have spondylosis in my lumbar spine which is how the neck started. VERY FRUSTRATING to not be able to do much of anything. Just this is bring tears to my eyes. BUT it could be MUCH worse,...

      Miss Mac

Just a word of encouragement about your cervical spine.......I had a 4 level ACDF on 2/14/2013. The collar was inconvenient for six weeks, but all of the numbness and pain stoped immediately. I am so glad I had it done. I get lumbar epidural injections every 3-4 months from the pain clinic at the hospital. The spine surgeon wants to put off surgery as long as possible because he and my primary and the pain specialist all believe that losing weight will ease that problem. The general conse...

Stay away from restaurants, fast foods, etc, try to stay away from your kitchen as much as possible. Remember it's two weeks and it should go by fast. Drink lots of water. Keep yourself busy. If u are really struggling , go take a bubble bath and listen to soothing music. Remember "This too shall pass ". Blog us if u need support ..we r here to help.

      Zoumommy

Carlotta1, thanks for the encouragement!! I'm staying out of my kitchen as much as I can and no restaurants for this lady. In fact, my super supportive husband is taking the kids out to eat for these 2 weeks just so I won't have to smell food cooking.....he's the best :)
