  1. How long did you wait after surgery until you had sex? My husband is getting antsy lol.....

    Sex three weeks out

Damn all you rabbits!! 4, 10 days post op?? I was still miserable at that point. However, I am 10 weeks post op now and my port still is uncomfortable during sex. I've tried all positions and it doesn't help. It's not horrible, but definitely a distracting ache. So I have to focus on NOT showing the hubby it is bothering me. I'm sure it will get better. I try not to contract abdomen as much. Although I've only lost a little under 30lbs....it is noticeable in bed. Don't mean to give TMI...but I'm loving it:blush:

    The untold of lapband

I'm not banded yet so I don't know if you want my advice but for me - if I don't get enough Water the day before, look out! IF I can go, it takes FOREVER! Sorry, TMI!!! Anyway, check your water intake and see if that needs to be increased. Even banded you still need 64 oz a day.
  4. I drank almost the amount and I'm being discharged today. Pain is better but now I have diarrhea (sorry tmi). Anyone else experience stomach upset this way? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Coffee after Sleeve...

About a week, maybe two, post op, I started back to my one cup a day. I rarely finish the whole cup (once it's temp drops too much), but this is what helps keep me regular....(sorry, tmi). It's the only caffeine I consume and I don't count those ounces into my "water" total. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Warning - delicate female topic! Ok, I'm three months out and have these really stange pains. The closest thing I can compare them to are menstrual cramps although I haven't had a period in over 10 years. It cramps in my uterus area and sometimes radiates on down through my vaginal area. Sorry if TMI, just wondering if anyone else has had such sensations. They are not unbearable but bothersome!

    Shapewear

Ok i have a weird question for all of you shape wear users! Has anyone ever gotten a yeast infection in the belly button from wearing shape wear everyday? I ask this because it happened to me, and I cannot figure out what it is from. I wear a take under my clothes everyday, 1 to keep the muffin top in check and 2 to keep warm. I noticed a weird smell (TMI?) the other day when i took it off, and looked it had some discharge on it near where the bellybutton would be, low and behold, my BB was all red and itchy and oozing!!! YUCK!!!!! I'm grossed out just telling you all, but need to know if i should seek medical help, or just use OTC cream!! thanks, patti

    Inconsistent Tightness?

Maybe it's hormonal? Are there any banded men with the same problem? Today it took me 45min to get down oatmeal, but lunch was just fine (two or three small oxtails with two very small chopped up potatoes and three chopped pieces of carrots), dinner-1 small chicken wing and it's hard to swallow my own spit! I am ovulating (I know TMI) and I'm full as hell...what gives!!!!!

Trying Not To Worry (Small Complication)

Thanks for checking in on me. Unfortunately, I'm sitting in the emergency room :-(. Over the course of the day traveling home, I have developed a fever, achiness, and a couple of my incision are oozing (sorry for tmi). I'm so scared right now. I just want to be home healthy with my babies!! Please pray for me that this isn't too serious!

    I Am Ashamed/embarassed

I have seen a lot of pre-op diets and this one seems very restrictive. I am ok eating only veggies or something along those lines, but I don't think I have that option. I wonder if I understand the diet correctly. I was told to come pick up my pre-op diet, and it was boxes of little packets--no instructions. I counted them and divided by 14 days. That was 3 packets a day of 130 calories each.....so I guess it isn't even 500 calories a day. I think it is a bit worse because of the timing (TMI--sorry) around my cycle. I am dropping a ton of pre-period Water weight and that always makes me feel weak. I wonder if I could take some potassium or something. I usually eat a high-potassium food around this time of the month and it really helps with the weakness and dizziness. Did anyone else have a diet that didn't allow anything except 3 packets of pudding or shake mix a day? The more I think about it the more I am beginning to wonder if I am doing this right. Oh--the chicken was boiled breast with no skin and the asparagus was with no butter. I knew I was screwing up and didn't want to go too far.

    Stomach pain

Man.. sounds rough. And at this point theres not much thats tmi haha.. anf ya that's what they told me as well, can't see hernias on scans.. only scopes. I have had 2 scopes and did have a hiatus hernia prior to surgery. The Dr this morning thinks a scope would be helpful for me..
  15. Hi guys! I don't know if this is TMI (too much information), but I felt the need to ask! I was banded on March 12, 2012 and have really had no problems except for minor port area pain when I'm over working my self...oh yeah and every now and twice now I've gotten a small stomach ache when I eat. I get my first fill next Thursday. My question is: Has anyone else become a little irregular? I've been like clockwork since I was a teenager and me not feeling the urge to go has begun to interfere with my morning weigh ins. Just 2 pounds, but this early in the game for me....every pound counts! Has this happened to anyone else after "the band?" And if so, what can I do? Activia, laxative? I'm clueless! Thanks!

Lapband Just Did Not Work For Me

I am on the other side now and struggling a little. I feel like I am hungry all the time but that could all be in my mind. I am only 2 days post op and feeling a bit better than yesterday except for the hunger. Oh did I mention the first bowl movement you have can be quite painful?? I just spent 20 mins trying to get one bm out. Sorry for the tmi.
  17. I have no idea if there are any studies about low carb after WLS. I just wanted to say that your nut probably isn't too worried about high carb foods because she knows that most WLS patients can't eat much anyway. For me, bread and rice still make me uncomfortably full, so I don't eat them much at all. Mashed potatoes, otoh, go down very easily, but they fill me up fast as well. By the time I eat my Protein for the day and add in some veggies, I'm usually too full to put in much in the way of carbs anyway. Add in the fact that simple sugars are too sweet and make me have diarrhea (not dumping, but def changes that function, sorry TMI), and I don't eat much sweet anyway. So, those high carb, low nutrition foods are out most of the time as well. There are several on here who advocate eating carbs before working out, and their reasons sound very valid to me. You will figure out what works for you and it will be right! Good luck!!
  18. After a severe case of constapation and a stall that I believe to be a side effect of being literally full of.....you know.....I've decided to go back to the begenning of mostly liquids until I see my surgeon next week. I'm in some pain from all the hours of pushing and straining (tmi...sorry) plus a night of coughing and vomiting up all the nothing on my stomach. I just pray nothing inside is messed up or leaking! In the meantime, Protein OD, here I come!!

    10/13/09 The Sweet Spot

wow! I can't believe I caught up to real time! I stumbled onto your blog while perusing this site and another one. I am hopefully close to getting my LB in the next couple months & wanted an honest experience to hear about. I found your blog 3 days ago & it's been like one of those good books you can't put down! For three days I have had my smartphone hooked to my hand (because its got the internet and it's a lot easier to use quickly vs sitting at the pc). I read through all of your blogs & was so appreciative of the brutal honesty & tmi reports. There were times I comiserated with you (ocd, party planning & decorating, info bins, crafting, & loving holidays!) There were a couple times I woke my sleeping DH up next to me (Yep, even stayed up in bed late reading) while reading your account of incontinence & then that sports bra fitting- haha!!!I so appreciate the bad with the good & all the info in between. It sure made me feel better about all of it while also enjoying to peek into someone else's life! (Btw, I inexplicably also became hooked on all the Real Housewives series too!)Anyway, I just wanted to tell you thank you- you are a fabulous writer! I hope to join you on the losers bench sooner than later & will continue to look forward to any and all updates on your blog!Keep up the great work!!! (You've inspired me to possibly attempt to move my measily little 4 posts of a blog from TT to here... I'll try & figure it out & let you know!) Thanks again!!! everleigh
  20. Okay. I know this is tmi but I am 3 months out of surgery. I have been so constipated for the past week. I am drinking 8 tbsp of milk of magnesia. Nothing is helping. What can I do??

    Feeling Hopless...:(

I hear ya! Right after surgery I lost a bunch of “water weight” but in the four weeks following, hardly a pound is gone! Sorry if this is TMI but I have averaged only 1 bm per week, too. I think it’s all just piling up in my intestines, waiting for the dam to break.

    Abdominal Pain

This may be tmi but...contact your ob/gyn to make sure that you don't have any fibroid tumors or abnormal growths. I hope you get the answers you need and feel better soon

    Diverticular Disease

Same for me. I had it pre-sleeve and originally got a colonoscopy after going to my DR for extreme lower left abdomen pain my MRI came back for possible colon cancer, however the colonoscopy showed diverticulitis. This is very very painful.Warning TMI: Your colon or lower intestine forms little pockets that collect food ecspecially nuts. That becomes inflamed and infected and super super painful. They have to treat the infection before they can do the colonoscopy because the intestine is so fragile and could tare easily in this condition. You have to take a special kind of medicine for it that sucks. Sometimes they have to go in and take out that section of your colon or lower intestine because it is too damaged and cant heal. It can hurt into your back and feel like its your kidney. Mine is mostly controlled after battling it for over a year. But I do not eat nuts at all. Not even corn nuts. I never want that back again. Its terrible.
  24. so i had my surgery on the 18th, everything went well, no complications, got discharged the next day. told me that if i dont go to the bathroom by sunday to take mirolax. so i did half dose last night& the rest this morning. i just wanna know if anyone has any suggestions that will make me go to the bathroom. sorry if its a bit tmi but its scaring me because i am in discomfort from being bloated and it makes me not want my protein shakes, and me not having protein shakes makes me incredibly dizzy and weak, which makes me unable to walk a lot which is what i should be doing to let the gas out. i just wanna know if anyone had this same problem and what would they recommend

    Breaking Point

Hi there! I'm new here, but am super excited to have found an online forum to participate in while I go on this journey. I am (hopefully) going to be getting gastric bypass at MUSC in the coming months. I'll be self-pay (dang insurance exclusions) so slightly less hoops to jump through, but I have not yet met with the surgeon or anything. My initial consult is March 1st. I kind of wanted to share what my "breaking point" was that ultimately resulted in the call to schedule a consult, and maybe see if other people would share theirs in the hopes that I am not alone. Be warned that it may be TMI for some people, and is definitely not something I have shared with anyone in my social circle (they are not as big as me and would likely be not only disgusted, but not understand). A little background on me, I've basically been obese since right after high school, so around 17 years now. The range of how obese has varied but steadily climbed upwards until my heaviest of 273 (I'm 5'4"). I've done every diet under the sun, including some really really unhealthy ones (HCG anyone?). I've got high blood pressure, problems with my skin constantly being flushed, signs of pre-diabetes, aches and pains from minimal daily activities.. a lot of the same stuff I suspect a lot of people here have had too. You'd think that the health issues would have been enough, and you'd be mostly right. They were enough for me to look into weight loss surgery, but not enough alone for me to actually take the plunge. I kept putting that off. No, to finally make the call it took me having trouble wiping my own butt after pooping. Maybe it's cause I'm just not that flexible, but it sure felt like all the accumulated fat on my arms, side, butt, and back were getting in the way of actually reaching. That was my breaking point. Sitting on a toilet, straining to try and get myself clean and realizing I couldn't. Now, I did eventually manage with a quick shower of my lower half and some creative use of a towel to dry off/make sure there wasn't anything the water didn't get, but I still can't shake the feeling of being unclean every time I have to use the bathroom. Lord knows I am not asking my husband to come wipe poo from my butt. Am I alone in the struggle? What thing, or things, made you finally decide this was what you needed after you'd been maybe putting it off?
