    My Great NSV this weekend!

I am so happy for you! NSV are the greatest! (although the scale doesn't lie) here's hoping for many more!
  4. FridayI had some friends over for a day at the pool. My day started off with me cleaning my house and getting things ready for them to come over. That included replanting a tree and some other heavy lifting type things. I cooked dinner that night for all of us. OK, so what was my non-scale victory? Well, in the past, my back would have been absolutely killing me by the end of the day. I was in a minor car accident a few years ago that did a number on my back. Several months ago, I would have been taking pain medicine and muscle relaxers just to get to sleep after a day like that. The pain would have been all over my face. But, I realized by the end of the night Friday that I was 100% pain free! I love my band!

    I love this NSV!

My scale isn't moving much right now, so I'm really looking for NSVs. I went with my son to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, yesterday (a couple of hours from where we live). If you've ever been there, they have miles (OK, blocks and blocks) of subway halls. I've always gotten tired and had to stop and rest on our way to wherever the next appointment was, but yesterday I didn't at all! Yay! My son even mentioned it and was thrilled for me. So I feel great even if the scale is being stubborn! Emily

    Nsv

Congrats to all! I just got back from vacation...the belt fit, I could even cinch it, and the tray table went down, and I could read my magazine while it was laying down flat on the table! It DOES feel great! NSV's are the best!

    Surgery Today

I did it! I got my sleeve this morning. I will say that the morning was rough due to all the gas pain. Not even morphine got rid if it!. But less than 8 hours later the pain is much better, due to walking and moving my arms.. I've walked the hall 4 times. And after a failed first attempt, i can keep down the ice chips! Im here overnight and can go home tomorrow if i can keep "breakfast" and "lunch" down. I had so many doubts, but right now I'm glad i did it, they've already taken me off Metformin, and i look forward to more NSVs! Sent from my LGLS991 using the BariatricPal App
  9. I've had a few NSV's this week: -could fit into a size 9 shoe (wore an 11 at one point) -people telling me that my XL size scrub top was too big -being called skinny mini at work and this isn't a weight loss victory, but a victory overall: my bf decided to join my gym!! now we're both getting healthier and spending more time together
  10. So yesterday i went to one of my hairdressers that i haven't been to since about a month and a half before surgery. Immediately after i said hello, She was like OMG, You have lost alot of weight. then continues to say, you're about the size you were when i first started doing your hair about 5 years ago. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! What... did she say that? i'm all smiles over here. So i'm leaving work early today and won't return here on site for over a month. Many people here says daily or no less than every other day about how much weight i've lost, how good i look, or asking how much weight lost, etc. I'll be out of town on buisness for 2 weeks, go on vacation for a week, then back out of town for another week or two. SO when i return back at my site hummmm, let's say at least June 2nd, Wonder what look, questions, or wise remarks that i will get? Lol, What do you think?

    Huge NSV Success

Now I have a NSV myself. . .got into my hubbies truck to go with him and guess what? The seatbelt fit!!! It really fit, with space! I have never been able to put the seatbelt on, and used to just hold it in place to look as if it was on, but it fit all, it really did!!!!!! woot woot
  14. I'm Ross and 2 weeks post op. My bariatric sleeve surgery was at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. I have dropped weight, as expected. However, my story is that I have not experienced any surgery side affects. Based on pre-op discussions, support groups and forums, I expected and prepared for the worse. Yet, I was walking immediately after surgery. Minimal pain. No gas. No acid reflux. I have had simply weight loss. My overall concern, in addition to attaining my healthy goal weight, is to maintain the the proper amount of protein, vitamin, calcium etc... in my meal plan and supplements. I'm big on NSVs because I expect to stall. I'm looking forward to attaining and maintaining my ultimate healthy weight.

    PostOp - 2 Weeks

hi! Sounds to me like you really have your head on straight. It's all about the NSV's! I can't wait for mine! Welcome to BP!! Lots of good folks here, great support group. I have to wait till January to submit for approval, but I've done my "hoop jumping" in preparation for it. So I hope mine is approved fairly quickly. I hope I have a story like yours!

    The Scale Won't Budge

:angryI am getting so frustrated, banded 11/15/2007, 1st fill 1/26/2007 3cc in a VG band which holds 14cc. The scale has not moved in over 5 weeks. I am eating protien first, never eating and drinking together. I started working out this week everyday a minimum of 30 minutes. I definately see NSV as the inches are coming off but would like to know if any of you have experienced this and when does it surpass? Next fill is scheduled 1/22/2008
  19. God dang, I am freezing my ass off lately. Its no longer walking around in a t-shirt and jeans when its 30-40 degrees out. Now I am learning the joys of layering...
  20. So..most of you know I'm headed on my dream trip to London shortly. This is miraculous to me as only 2 1/2 years ago, I was barely able to walk a block and was only weeks away from going into a wheelchair. In preparation for a bike tour through St. James and Hyde Parks that I signed up for, my friend and I rented bikes and will ride in Central Park this afternoon. I've been practicing at the Y but I need to make sure I can ride a real bike and not just a stationary one. So...for those who focus too much on the scale and the numbers, think of me and others like me who note success as not just a number but in how we've regained our lives. In fact, I've climbed above 115 lbs. this week and while I'm not thrilled, I'm not obsessing. I've been eating out alot recently and this is likely the cause. I'll be a little more aware of how much I'm eating and the few pounds I've gained will come off. Or they may not come off. As long as I don't put on more, I'm OK with it. I'm way more focused on the bike ride today than what I weighed this morning. Think about that when you get pissed or depressed because you didn't lose enough weight this week. Or why didn't I lose weight if I'm starving myself? Don't starve yourself. The body doesn't like it. Have a great day today and a great holiday weekend. Eat well and eat smart. Enjoy all your non scale victories and enjoy your friends and family. I want to hear about all the holiday NSVs after the weekend. I hope to see lots and lots of them. Liz

    NSV =)

I am 23 and have always had to shop at Lane Bryant, Torrid...only plus size stores. For years I have been going to Forever 21 just to buy jewelry..well because thats all that fit me (sometimes not even that!) Today I walked in there looked at their pants and said "no way am I fitting in that" I asked "do you guys have plus size?" the lady said "no". I said forget it, and went to try them on..they FIT!!! yay! They are pleathur (fake leather) so they are close fitting, also I never want to show my arms but thanks to Jillian Micheal's 30 day shred (2 weeks so far) my once loose arm skin is tightening and I thought to myself, my arms look pretty good so I bought the tank too =) I almost cried at the cashier, happy tears because I feel like a normal young woman for once in my life!!!
  23. hi lilee, hi lilee, hi lo thats a great NSV - i am afraid i can't top that one! kathy
  24. I am so excited. I know this has nothing to do with surgery, but I have to tell someone. So why not tell the forum. I am having my first job interview since I had all my spine surgeries in 2012. I was terminated from my last job because I got a staph infection and was not able to return to work at the time I was supposed too. Kinda unfair, but life isn't fair. Took me a while to get over feeling like a failure. Anyway, I really hope I get this job. Sometimes I always had this thought in the back of my head I wasn't getting a job because of my weight. Hopefully, tomorrow will be different, plus I am well qualified for this job. Wish me luck!!! The only problem I have is I have no interview clothes because I have no money to buy them. So I am going to wear my doc martens, nice jeans and a nice top.
