  1. It's Friday!!! WhoooHOO!! I think we should all take a minute and post something that we are grateful for - an NSV - a happy moment - something that made you feel 10 feet tall and bullet proof - (not tequila ) - maybe someone said or did something nice for you this week that made you feel special .......and....go! my husband has been really sweet this week and he picked roses for me and made me a small bouquet and put them in a little mason jar and brought them to me at work and they are on my desk - which was really nice because he really doesn't do stuff like that - so it was 100 times more special to me that he thought of me when i really needed a pick me up this week.

Congrats to both of you!! Great NSV!! Color me jealous!
  3. Congrats on your NSV - that's awesome!!! I haven't tried on a pair of jeans for ages as I got sick of disappointment. Might try now I'm on track! As for your flu - that sucks. It's a particularly bad season. Keep well hydrated and hope you feel better soon xx

    I have a NSV!

I have to second this NSV!! I just recently actually got into a pair of pantyhose, put on a dress and 3 inch heels. I felt SOOOOO hot. I used to dress like that all the time!! I LOVED that I was actually able to wear the heels all day. My new man was VERY happy to see me that day!! Good NSV! Thank you for reminding me to acknowledge such things!!!

    Getting Noticed another NSV

As of late I have noticed other men, besides my DH checking me out. It is such a great feeling to get the looks again. I am still far from my goal or ideal weight, but it sure is nice to feel sexy again! :clap2:

    More NSV's

I found a black dress yesterday. Whew! I was able to buy it a size smaller. It's a bit more fashionable too, with its little flare at the bottom. This morning, of course, I put the dress on. I selected a blouse to go over the dress. I put it on and walked to the mirror. The shirt was too big, it looked ridiculous. So, I walked back to the closet and got a second shirt (same size) and looked in the mirror again. The second shirt looked just as bad. LOL. My husband is waiting on me at this point because we carpool. I walked to the closet and got a third shirt, this time a size smaller. It looked great. So, that was my first official "clothes too big" moment. w00t! He He, when I walked out of the bedroom, my husband gave me that "look" that I took too long. I laughed and said I had to try on 3 shirts to find one that wasn't too big. He smiled and said "thats great reason to take so long".

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Congratulations I KNOW that must feel good! I didn't use my tray when I just flew, probably out of habit of not being able to, but for once I wasn't "wedged" into the seat I was able to sit somewhat comfortably... YAY FOR YOU! HUGE NSV!!!

    My NSV

This evening I did something I haven't been able to do for 3 years--I was able to put on my wedding rings! Not on my pinkie where they had been but on the ring finger! I took them off about 6 months into my pregnancy and hadn't got them back on until now. Makes me feel great. Now my husband can't tease me about not being married.

  15. i have had a rough couple of weeks. My weight is a few pounds over my bounce range and my cutest pants are too tight to look cute. grumble. I have been in maintenance long enough that I don't really seek or need validation of my looks, appearance, size or whatever... but when you are feeling kinda "fat' and you get it... it kinda helps with perspective and to stop being so negative. So, I was at a "working meeting" for a global company. One of the men i work with (he is from Europe so we have only met a few times) had very cute pictures of his kid on his computer so we were talking about kids. I told him mine were way past the cute phase and when he asked how old and I told him... in their 20s, in fact my youngest graduated college last year. He was genuinely shocked. Then, he looked my body up and down in a somewhat leering kind of way and said something like... "I will never believe it with a body like that." Ha... and then he cleared his throat and said.."maybe we should get back to work subjects" due to my circumstances, there was nothing in the least bit negative about that experience and it reminded me to not be so freaking hard on myself just because my smallest pants don't fit well right now. thank you work colleague - you made my day and actually whole week!

    Nsv For Me!

Finally was able to put on mY watch without the extender!! All this time I just thought my bones were big!!!! On top of that my pants are falling off, and by golly, my belt is too big!!! I love my sleeve! I hope everyone is doing well! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  17. I know we talk a lot about NSV's that concern ourselves and our own self esteem, but I need to hear about our kids. I need to hear about YOUR kids. The truth is, I did this for my 2-year-old daughter. I don't want to be successful at this, I MUST be successful... for her. I sometimes feel guilty about the extra time I spend not playing with her because I'm in the kitchen preparing nutritious and healthy homemade food (as opposed to opening a can and slopping it on a plate for her consumption). But then I think about the extra time I WILL be spending with her if I don't die young. I know it's for her that I'm putting in the extra effort. I want to model good healthy choices and behavior for her to follow. If it were for myself, well, I'm sexy at whatever weight I'm at (in my own mind), but to die young and leave my daughter to someday raise her children without the help and guidance of her mother... no "fat but sexy" is worth that. I'm still young (27), and I don't know much, but I do know that a daughter never stops needing her mother. Especially when she's grown and has children of her own. So I'm asking all you mommies out there to tell me about the victories you've had with your children. How getting banded has changed them as well as you. Do they dance more often because you do? Do they walk outdoors and enjoy the fresh air because you do? Do they laugh more because you can now pick them up by their ankles and hang them upside down while you spin in circles and you both crash on the floor, not because you're out of breath, but because you're laughing so hard your sides hurt? If my daughter grows up and is chunky, I won't mind. That's her body and her choice. But I don't want to be the one who never gave her a choice or a chance to be healthy.

    Congrats! That's a great NSV!
  19. I have spent years avoiding the rides at Kings Dominion because I either could not fit or thought my spleen was going to bust. I went saturday with my son and guess what we rode?? Everything!!!! I fit comfortably on all of the roller coasters and other rides. What a great feeling. Greg
  20. I am over the TOP right now. This morning the scale showed that I have now lost 40 lbs!!! AND.....I put on a pair of work slacks this morning that I have not worn in "8" years. YES, 8 years!!! WHAT A FEELING!! Of course my boyfriend had to ask why I still have slacks from 8 years ago. Well, because they are classic work slacks that won't go out of style and I had hoped that one day I could wear them again. AND I CAN!!!
  21. Thank Best me.....I am in awwww of you. You NC pic are wonderful, keep up the great work:wave: MARGO-YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU GO GIRL I can't wait for my boobs to get flatter:confused: ....so that they can see the stuff other then fat in my mammo. Yet Another NSV!!!!
  22. I am 5 weeks out and a slooow loser. I've lost almost 20 lbs. On top of that, i've gained 3 lbs after going in from being dehydrated and now being properly hydrated. I was sad, but this morning I took a double take in the morning when I saw signs that my hourglass figure is coming back. I've decided I am not going to weight myself until this pair of xxl pants from Old Navy fit me. They go up, but don't close like by 3 inches. Is a small victory, and wanted to share it. Ready to take on the weekend!!!

    Questions About Postings 7 Terms

NSV means something you consider to be a victory that's not coming from the numbers on a scale. Things like compliments, getting into smaller clothes, easier mobility, getting off meds, etc. They're related to your weightloss in a broad sense. SV would be something directly related to what your scale says, more like reaching a goal weight or weightloss milestone, or finally crossing out of the 200s and into the 100s.

  25. Today I went shopping with my 16 year old daughter and we both bought shirts at Maurice's. Before I began this journey even the largest of their plus line clothes were too small for me. It just felt so good to get to try things on with my daughter in the next dressing room and then give each other our opinions on how things look. Especially when she told me one of the dresses I tried on was too big! Sharing time with your kids and not having to worry about them being embarrassed by your size is PRICELESS!!!!
