    Losing it!

I went through something similar in the beginning & I also hid in my room because I could not stand the sight of food let alone have to smell it. It sucks big time but that too shall pass. These are all normal stages of the process in the beginning & I am sure there are others who also felt the same way & there will others who follow behing you who may experience similar experiences. Just stay positive, stay on course, keep your eyes on the prize, & just like life take it all one step at a time. You are doing great & your rewards will be all your NSV's!!!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Guys! So, another nsv! I tried on a pair of size 20 Calvin Klein jeans I bought 5 years ago that never really fit that awesome when I bought em. THEY FIT ME PERFECTLY NOW! So I went from a 28-30 to a 20 in 5.5 weeks! Holy sh!t. I can't even believe it. They're in the wash now (they were in my closet and I'm not even sure I washed em after the last time I wore them) and I'll post a before and today pic when they're dry. I'M SO EXCITED!

    Easter Challenge

I'm at the hospital with my hubby this weekend (he had 2 surgeries, both went very well, we are VERY relieved) so I won't be weighing in until tomorrow. I did want to report an NSV, however. This morning when taking hubby down to surgery the nurse wheeled him into the elevator which was a bit of a tight squeeze and said, "your wife is skinny...she can fit in here no problem." We both had BIG smiles on our faces for that one! :-)

How was your 5:2 day today?

The problem was Bill had not put the Cpap mask on and fell asleep. I tried to wake him up when he started snoring and told him to put it on. I don't think he was really awake but he got really angry so I just got dressed and left. He was a mess the next day. He thought for sure I was going to break up with him. H agreed that he needs to put it on as soon as he kisses me good night. We had several long talks after this about other stuff too that was very helpful so things are going great again. Sheryl I posted in the NSV thread how happy I am that you had fun skiing. I knew you would once you had some lessons. Lessons are definitely the key. I wish I could go with you! I haven't skiied in years, but I rememeber how free I felt going down and how beautiful everything looks from so high up. I was actually amazed that I was able to pick it up after awhile and then it just became so much fun. Don't worry about people reading in here. I am going to delete anyone who hasn't posted in awhile. I will pm them if they have posted but not in a long time, and just delete anyone who has not posted. I deleted Butter a long time ago. Alex told me nobody can read anything in here.

    NSV shout outs

Jane that is so cool about skiing. I would love to ski with my kids. I am glad to hear you're enjoying it more. It's so much fun, and just gorgeous out there in the mountains. I had a new NSV. I haven't had one in awhile . I was at the gym and I noticed this guy staring at me. He was about my age and I've seen him at the gym a lot over the years. I was doing lunges and squats and I asked him if I was doing something wrong. He replied "No, not at all. I was just admiring you"
  8. So I used up the last hole on my smallest belt. As a reward, I bought my first new post -VSG piece of clothing...a beautiful new belt. I'm down to just 2 pairs of jeans that fit now, so those will be next

    NSV shout outs

Still pre-op but eating less. NSV - I can't keep my pants on! Tried to hold them up while grocery shopping today but pretty sure dozens of people saw a significant portion of my undies. Time to pull out the sewing machine!
  10. I'm doing really well! I had my 6 week check up on Monday and everyone was extremely pleased with my progress. When I get down to my goal weight they might use me as a poster child, which they would show patients my before and after picture and I would speak to people just starting their journey. Sounds like an amazing experience to me. Eating and exercise I have done very well and I am starting to really feel like a normal human again, slowly though! I've had a ton of NSVs, which is the best feeling in the world!! Also, I'm visiting Florida in less than 2 weeks and I get to see my best friend for the first time in 2 years, he's going to be shocked when he sees me! How's everyone else doing? Not many posts on here lately. Hope everyone is doing awesome. Highest weight; 406 lbs Surgery date; 355 lbs 6 weeks out; 322 lbs.
  11. Huge NSV today - Ran my first 5K on the treadmill! Yay!

    NSV: Airplane seatbelt fit!

This is one my goal NSVs, it is humiliating to be flying to Asia and all of the flight attendants are tiny Asian women, and having to ask for the extender, or worse getting a front row seat with the in arm tray tables, because my belly inteferes and the tray won't lay flat... so embarrassing. .. surgery date is June 11th!

    NSV: Airplane seatbelt fit!

I cannot WAIT for this NSV. I am flying April 10th for the first time since my Jan 21 surgery. We shall see!!
  14. I wish I would have had a better idea of the emotion struggles through out this journey. I tell you it has been one H*ll of a ride so far. You can read about it, listen to it. but experience it is a whole different kettle of fish...... One example is that every other time I dieted. When I lost a lot of weight I would panic and get scared that if I got too small I would attract unwanted attention. The exact opposite happened. I enjoy every pound that leaves my body and can't wait for the next NSV. I have no idea why the change but that is part of dealing with your thinking. Your brain and mind set.... A journey..No kidding!!!!!!!!!!

    NSV shout outs

…and another NSV: My primary was so thrilled, that she ran two blood tests. My A1c is down from 12.2 to 9.6. Allowing for the fact that it's really just been the past month that my bloodsugar has improved, it's a pretty big jump. And my Fructosamine came back… wait for it… NORMAL! It's a miracle.

    First headcold with my band

I used to take zinc, vitamin c and echinacea before my band, but zinc just hurt my stomach so much back then I don't want to chance it now. The otc decongestants almost all raise my blood pressure. One positive NSV already is that with my weight loss so far in this journey, I've gone down from two blood pressure meds to one. Yay! I'll try the Robitussin mucus thinner stuff if needed, but it feels like it's breaking up today. It was just so weird to feel that "slow down" signal for the first time when all I was having was liquids. It was actually good to "know" my band was really in there!
  17. Oopsie! Definitely time for you to invest in two new items. Some new jeans and a new skirt! Wear them to death until you experience the next 'whoops' moment! Congrats on the embarrassing NSV though!

    Selfies!

This is a selfie and NSV! I took this in the bathroom at work. I was excited because now I can fit in the yellow stripe scrub top, which is an XL!
  19. Hi, friends. Just sharing, as I'm so excited. Wednesday made 16 calendar weeks post-op VSG, and as of today, I've lost 50 pounds! Holy cow. I am halfway to goal in just four months!! SW =257.2 Dec. 4th--->Today = 206.0 ---> 170 (or 150--ultimate goal). I was hoping to enter Onederland by June 1st, but I think I'll get there before that, do you think...? I need to do monthly weight-loss tallies, but oddly, I lost 13 pounds this month! (I don't know why, but I'll take it!) OMG. And the NSVs are occurring every week. I really need to take pictures; I think I'll regret not having done so along this journey. Just sharing. This feels good...and I really needed that to happen. For any still wondering whether to have WLS, VSG or any type, I can already attest that it does change your life, energy, attitude, appearance, style, confidence, socialization, sexiness, etc. It all gets better, with more to come, it seems. Have a great day.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I had a bittersweet NSV today. My wedding ring set has been sliding all around my finger over the last 2 weeks or so. To keep from loosing them. I had to wrap medical tape on the back. Going to have to figure out a better way to deal with this. I don't want to take them off. Will need to have them resized once I loose all my weight. But not sure what to do for now...

    NSV: Airplane seatbelt fit!

Congrats.....That was one of my favorite NSV's too!
  24. Had to travel for a retreat and experienced another NSV. In the past, I was always worried about if the seatbelt would fit when I flew occasionally I had to request an extender(humiliating) but usually just sucked in my guy and squeezed into the seatbelt to avoid embarrassment and avoided getting up on flights so I wouldn't have to struggle to close the seatbelt again. Today, I got onboard, snapped my belt shut without a struggle, didn't encroach on my seat mate and was able to put the tray table all the way down. My weight loss has been slow and as I've become more active, it's been all over the place going up then down so I've been very frustrated. However I have been steadily losing inches and today's NSV showed I'm making progress and moving in the right direction. I'm so thrilled right now and am looking forward to more NSVs.

    Losing it!

First little NSV! I have these underwear that are a little too small, the front tends to roll down under my tummy. Just put them on and they are staying in place. I need a scale!
