    3. BigDaddy BGP

      BigDaddy BGP

With my kids, I simply told them that the reason I was doing it was so that I could do more with them, and be more involved...I mean I went to most of their baseball and football games, but, to be more involved, in actually teaching them how to play their sports and coaching them...they caught on pretty easy...I tease them and ask them if they will share some of their "bad" food with me...and they say "Daddy, you can't have that...you know better..."

  5. Another interim weight loss goal reached: I now weigh less than Mr.!!! This morning I weighed in at 156.4 😁

(Mind you, I've reached below his weight the last 3 times I dieted, but I have a good feelings about this time, and that it will stick 😎).

Next interim weight loss goal: Break into the 140's...

  6. hey guys..... been a long time.  Update:  We are nearing a conclusion on the propery settlement with my ex.... it's been two longggg years.

It will be two years March that my beloved Tina (my band) has been gone.  Not going to lie, keeping the weight off has been HARD... but still chugging along.  Weight is at 155ish.... but I joined Crossfit and my body is becoming more leaner and stronger.  I didn't realize how weak i had become.  I really thought id die doing crossfit.... but i have really started to love it.... I know... but i do.

Two weekends ago... i bought my very first wedding dress.... (picture attached).  I know i was married twice but both were when i was prego... and never had one.  This is the last time, so im doing it right.  We are going to Jekyll Island Club Resort.... Looks like September 2019....

Thursday the 7th we leave for a short mini vaca to San Pedro.... and then the Honeymoon May 15-24 is in Italy.... Venice, Florence and then Rome.  I know we are doing it backwards, the the trip was planned first.

Miss you guys..... if anyone wants to fb me or Instagram or email.....  Christina Callahan Cenac (fb), christinacenac (Instagram) or christina2315dd@yahoo.com (email)

P.S.   Yes the dress still needs adjustments... hehe

You are going to be a beautiful bride Bayou!

Wow, still having to deal with that property settlement? Man, that is crazy.

You so deserve all of this happiness you have found with Tim. I swear he is the reward for all the years of suffering. I hope he knows he got the rainbow unicorn!

I have actually thought of you a many times after you lost your band and wondered how you are doing. I think your weight is absolutely amazing. I don't know if I could hold my down without the band! Jekyll Island is great...I live in Georgia...it is beautiful and you are going to make a beautiful bride! Good luck!

  7. Good news and Meh news...

Meh: so I think I experienced/am experiencing my first stall-ish since surgery and now I get how frustrating it can be!  So annoying to wake up every morning to watch the scale report a gain or loss of the same 1.5 pounds for over 2 weeks.  *sigh*.  Some say put the scale away, but I log my weight every morning to get a daily moving average of my weight.  So long as this moving average is not heading upwards (which it isn’t and hasn’t since post-op) then I am good with my curent “minimalist” weekly weight loss rate, however small I think it is 🙄.

    However.

    The Good news:

To allow for some self back patting, and to remind myself of the bigger picture, I set a bunch of interim goals/milestones... a few of which are 10lbs increment weight loss goals:

So this morning, after hovering within 1.5 pounds of an interim goal for over 2 weeks, I weighed in at 164.8, and officially lost 70 lbs!  In 4 months.  That is 30% of my starting body weight.  Or the equivalent of my 10 year old neice. How crazy is that.

Next Goal: weigh in at 162lbs to be merely overweight (and not obese!)

  8. I'm 13 years out from having weight loss surgery. I would have to say it was the best choice I have ever made. I have been successful BUT now I'm feeling like I'm sliding back and getting comfortable with old eating habits. I absolutely do not want to ever go back to where I came from. I'm just needing support and some pointers to get me focused again. Any one have any thoughts or suggestions. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

I’m new but I wish you luck in getting back on track. Maybe see a nutritionalist first.

  10. Well January finally did it. Started the month and ended the month at the exact same weight.

First time my weight journal has had a Zero written in it.

Feb 1 is the 18 month mark and it does feel like the end of one journey and the start of another.

Do not see the surgeon again till August but he was happy at 175 so i do not see any issues there.

    1. Orchids&Dragons

      Orchids&Dragons

I stalled out in January as well. Maybe from less activity in the cold weather? Anyway, you've had amazing success so far. Hope all continues well with your journey, whether losing or maintaining.

    2. FluffyChix

      FluffyChix

Could just be a temporary stall. If you want to lose more, change things up a bit and keep working the master plan!!! :) Congrats on your losses. That's fabulous!!!

  11. Ten years ago I had by-pass surgery.  My starting weight was 562.  It has been a long road, and I wanted my goal to be 180.  I am 218 and now I find out my weight for 5'1" should be 143.  I really think I can get that thin.  HELP!!!!!

    1. KimTriesRNY

      KimTriesRNY

You may want to be thinner, but that is a success! Wow! You must feel so much healthier now!

Of course you can get to 143! You lost 344 pounds...didn't you? And, honestly, did that seem possible all those years ago?

Orchids&Dragons is right. You've done awesome so far. While there's never a guarantee, you've proven that it's possible. Patience is your best friend.

  12. Pre op appt today. Gained over Christmas :(  Lecture coming I am sure.

  13. Hello again,

I have lost a total of 72 lbs.  Feeling pretty frustrated with myself because I have been at the same weight for about 6 weeks.  BUT considering it has been through the holidays and there has been a lot of celebrating ... I am cutting myself some slack. 😕  At least I have not gained! 😬

  14. I went to my 4th NUT appointment this week and I was absolutely surprised that I had actually lost 9 pounds from my last appointment.  I can get a bit obsessive when it comes to scale use so I've decided to only do pre-op weigh-ins at my monthly appointments.  It saves me a lot of anxiety, I think.

I actually was prepared to go to the appointment with excuses on why i gained, so this was a big win.  I didn't actually add much activity to my routine, the only thing I changed was having protein shakes every morning instead of just weekdays.  I really thought my extracuricular snacking activities were going to cause an issue, but I'm not going to let that make feel like it's ok to snack late or keep eating cheese non-stop.   Also probably helps that I had the stomach bug a couple days last week.  I think my organs liquified and came out....yuck...

  15. I had my VSG on 11/19/18. All went very smoothly at the hospital, I was able to get up and walk a bunch, and was discharged at 11 am the next morning. Unfortunately, at about day 6 I noticed that I had thrush and am still taking meds to get rid of it. The first was Nystatin and now on Diclofenac. I also got VERY constipated from the iron supplements, but luckily some Miralax unclogged me. My highest ever weight was 319lbs, I was 282lbs at my first visit with my surgeon and 270lbs on my surgery date. As of this morning, December 9th I am 245lbs.

you are doing great Mark! Keep on keeping on (off)!

  16. I was dreading Thanksgiving, thinking I would be miserable not eating tons of every dish served, but it wasn't terrible at all!  I ate very little (it was a little alarming to see how little food I had on my plate), but I didn't feel like I missed out on anything.  I even ate a sliver of pie... and still lost weight.  Now that I know it's possible, I'm feeling better about Christmas - I'll just make sure there are things I can eat, I'll remember that I don't need to eat much to feel fulfilled, and I'll take it easy on myself if I mess up.

  17. My weight will JUST NOT BUDGE. I'm annoyed. This stall sucks. Can stress alone trigger a stall? I'm 237, have been for...oh 10 days now. I'm doing everything else I need to, but am more stressed than I have been.

    1. KimTriesRNY

      KimTriesRNY

You will stall. I’ve had stalls for over three weeks at a time. The lower you get, the longer it will take to lose the pounds. Just keep to the program, it will come off. It’s discouraging but everyone goes through it! 🤗

  18. One Week Post Op today! I feel great and almost walking back to normal. I have learned in this short week to not drink your dinner protein shake at a constant sipping. I spent 30 min the last two nights trying to release the pressure in my chest. Lesson Learned! I am back down to Surgery Date Weight as of this morning, actually half a pound less. Now to look forward to actual losses LOL. I guess i had a lot of gas and liquids that are taking time to leave my body. Its all good, it will be gone eventually! I have no regrets, and take each day as it comes and look forward to the next stage next Thursday, and getting my stitches out on Tuesday.

Thanks Cheryl for sharing everything that you have learned on your journey. I am in the midst of plastics now having just had a Brachioplasty 2 weeks ago and have several combined surgeries coming down the road. I look forward to seeing your future learnings. P.S. You look absolutely fantastic and I know it has not been an easy road for you.

  22. Tomorrow is my last day of real food, i cant say unrestricted, there was no food funeral for me because my surgeon requires a weigh in the day before surgery and if you have gained surgery is off. My weight has been good though. Tuesday im clear liquids and then the big day!! Ive been busy all week getting last minute things done, laundry, shopping, pre cooking, i just cannot believe that what ive been dreaming of four years is finally here.

    1. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

You will be back on real food before you know it. The time on liquids is a really hard time, but it doesn't last very long and the long term results are worth it. Keep your eye on the prize.

  23. I am 4 pounds from the lowest weight I can remember being in over a decade! 23 more pounds til onederland!

  24. Went to store, used a mortozied cart (because of my ACL knee surgery TWO weeks ago). My teenager was Mortified. Saying that this was like my "600 lb life) and that I needed to lose weight (duh, WLS planned for Nov). I laughed it off, but also realized that if I don't have surgery/lose weight, I am headed for motorized cart & how hard it would be. :(

    1. Cervidae

      Cervidae

@WLSResources/ClothingExch LOL! You made me laugh out loud here in my quiet apartment. Thanks for that!

@Anna Nim I had the same surgery 2 months ago! Well that, plus a meniscus repair and a meniscus trim. But a few months ago in San Diego, we went to the zoo, and my knee was so messed up that my boyfriend and aunt convinced me to get a scooter so I could see the whole zoo. I was pretty mortified too, especially when strangers stopped in their tracks to stare/glare at me or even confront me and tell me "I should be walking!" I weighed about 250 at the time, so I was definitely overweight but in no way "600 pound life" large. People are going to be ridiculous/ignorant/judgmental no matter what, so do what you need to so you can recover and ignore the a-holes! Teenagers are, as a whole, incapable of ignoring them, hence the mortification. :P Hope your knee heals well and quickly!

This was one of the reasons I decided to have surgery - I pictured myself having to ride around in a hoveround by age 50! :-(

    3. Anna Nim

      Anna Nim

You guys are cracking me up! Mow The Kid down indeed!!

I would SO smack a person who actually SAID I should be walking! Those are the same fools that tell women to breastfeed in the restroom. Luckily, at 5 10 and resting bitch face, I never had to do that :)

I just need to do PT..like right now! I need the strength to stop wearing the brace, but since it is hard to move around, it is a pain.

@Cervidae I also had mensicus repair and trim. They shaved all the fuzzy off my bones. Ick City!

      Thanks ya'll!
