#wls #tmi you shut the lid on the toilet. We're you afraid it would get out???

  2. I hope to be able to go to a public bathroom and use the regular stall and not the handicapped or family restroom. Seriously, my bottom is so large that in a regular restroom there is not enough room for me to get to my butt! (sorry for the tmi)

    Birth Control

I wil be following this closely. I have never took a birth control pill, ever. We have even been told I will probably never conceive - but now I am being told I am responding so well to the weight loss (it has only been 2 months post-op but I was loosing since January '11) that they are concerned my body may reverse "whatever" it is doing. I have not even fully transitioned to daily mushies yet, so this really scares me - that would be so bad for a child! TMI but Hubby is like "what??!!!" when I handed him a sleeve of his own...so that isn't going to last in the long run (and is wayyy not effective enough).
  4. My strips were almost off on there own and when I pulled one off after my shower I noticed that only one was not closed and open its small and I don't think I need to call the Dr or anything ( I see him Monday) almost like a cut its pink and watery SORRY FOR TMI My kids get bigger cuts then this.. I just put a band-aide on it . It was not the big incision but one of the smaller ones. Maybe he will put a stitch in it or just use a butterfly band aid. anyone have this happen?? I'm only two weeks post op on Tuesday.
  5. Warning: TMI approaching.....I'm so excited that after 12 days, I finally pooped!!!! YEAY ME!!! I actually ran out into the living and screamed to my husband, "Baby I have to poop!! Isn't that great?"

  6. Huge Congrats to YOU!!! I feel the same way!! I was sleeved on 2-27 and the only thing that bothers me is swallowing (some) pills...capsules are not my friend and yesterday one came back up..TMI I know, but important for some..it was the first time I have thrown up....small tablets are fine, so I will have to find other brands that will go down without problems...I love the restriction....the feel of being full after a small amount of food!!! I told hubs today at dinner...I love it!! I used to wake up EVERY morning and I swear the very first thing I would think of was food....Not now...that in itself is such a blessing!!!
  7. Constipation. Nope. All i need to do is eat something or drink something with "real" sugar in it and i'm ALL set. sorry tmi

To Puke Or Not To Puke

I also agree with the above posts.... Whenever I eat too much or too fast I get the slilmes.. I HATE to throw up because it makes me feel terrible and pee my pants.. (I know TMI) But now post op--- if I need to throw up all I do is go to the RR and lean over the toilet and open my mouth.. it just comes up.. not even a gut wrenching puke just like a baby spitting up. I don't even pee my pants. After I throw up/spit up I feel SOOO MUCH BETTER! One day I will learn to eat slower, chew my food better, and don't eat too much!!! YEA RIGHT!!! I am 4 months post op and I have only done this 7-8 times. It is getting better, I am learning my bodys signals. Rhonda
  9. So I had a thought today about WLS when I was at work. I realized that while I am excited about new clothes, better health, and a more active life there is one thing that would be almost (TMI) orgasmically good. It would be fantastic to come home from work and NOT have my feet, ankles, knees and legs positively ache and swell up. I work on my feet for 8 hours every day as a cake decorator. Sometimes after sitting and then getting back up my feet are so swollen they look like little Italian sausages (the Hot and Spicy kind, of course!) and I hobble around like a 100 year old woman! I actually daydreamed today (while cloud watching! I saw a crab, and Spiro the dragon!) about how having 120 less pounds bearing down on my poor footsies will feel! How maybe my hips and shoulders wont hurt. About how I will be able to enjoy my body, rather than be exhausted by it. Still no word about the insurance, but I've got a ton of extracurricular activity for the next five days to help take my mind off of everything.
  10. So, had my endoscopy today, and I don't think it went as well as the one I've had in the past did. This time, apparently I threw up many times during the procedure (TMI?) and found out that I have a hernia. Wonderful. Now I'm at home with a sore throat and now an upset stomach (after eating dinner).

To Puke Or Not To Puke

Okay - this may be TMI for those of you that are squeamish. But this is one of those areas that I really learned a lot about AFTER the surgery, and maybe someone else will benefit from learning about this part of it. I have never coped well with throwing up - but after the surgery I found that if I ate too much or ate too fast and it was sitting in my esophagus causing me pain, the best thing to do was to throw up. It's different than when I use to get sick with the flu. It's like you just bend over and burp a little bit and up it comes. Usually, only the amount of a bite or so will come up and it's very easy. I still hate to throw up but when I need to for relief I do because it helps SO much. I have a very restrictive sleeve and it took me a long time to figure out how much I could eat, how slowly to eat, what foods I could tolerate, etc. so in the beginning I'm afraid I did my fair share of getting sick. Now, I very, very rarely have to.

    Caffine

I'm 6 weeks out & can't live w/out caffeine. My NUT & my surgeon gave me the ok on it. I hate milk plain but to add some protein to my coffee I do q latte more or less.....1/2 coffee & half milk over ice. At Starbucks I add sf vanilla...sooo good. Today I added a 1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein. It def made it taste grosser, but I need the protein & it was better than a shake I've had no probe with gas & I personally think it helps get a bm get going so that's a bonus for me (sorry if tmi) !!

I Can't Believe I'm Going To Ask This...

Hey brandymarie81, it's like you're reading my mind. I had frequrent Y.I's before the sleeve and once my period hit the day after its been really bad. I don't know if its the hormone fluctuation thats doing it but I'm now on meds for it and I'm going into the doc Thursday for follow up. I know my symptoms and diagnosed myself but I want confirmation. Have you been to the doc yet? BTW this may be TMI but I'm STILL bleeding! WTH. I hope this period craziness doesn't last for a long time.
  14. 44I - Oh your poor, poor back and shoulders. I didn't know "i" existed. I'm with you. I would like to have my B cup back. What is it with men. TMI, but why would they need more than a handful?
  15. I had tried a bunch of protein shakes and did the dry heaves (tmi) with everyone of them. So far the only thing I have been able to tolerate has been Isopure. I just have to make sure I don't smell it. The smell of the whey protein gets me every time. The taste is not so bad. Another thing I do is add powdered fat free milk to my sugar free pudding to up the protein. Hope some of these ideas help.
  16. GOSH, I have never had this experience. My stomach just feels really full for about 10 minutes and then goes away. I do eat way tooooooo fast, but I seem to know when to stop (knock on wood). I am working on slowing down, but when I see my hubby eating really fast, I start having control issues and tell him to slow down. It so sucks. Anywhoo, thanks for sharing and it wasn't TMI. It is really hard to stay focused when having other people around who can eat a lot. Please accept my apology for being in a slump today. I will just have to snap myself out of this rut! LOL

    Bruised Lady Bits

Well Ladies, maybe it's time for us ladies to take charge. Yes, I mean take charge. Ask for what you want from your man! Yep, give him directions on what you like. Slow it down, take time to enjoy every moment of it. The funny thing is, that when you are in an aroused state, you do not feel pain like you would if not aroused. Sorry, this may be TMI! But enjoy sex! We burn calories when we're having sex! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
  18. JoiebeanWhen I first was sleeved i did have dry heaves sometimes, not often, but i did have them. I actually eventually had to go to the hospital too, cuz i was now dehydrated. This happens to others sometimes too, so its not un normal to have this happen. BUT....Up until awhile aago, i probably wouldn't have posted here, but... a couple of weeks ago, i was kindof beginning real food, - i made a delicious veal stew. For whatever reason, i just wasn't thinking, the veal was so yummy i just starting eating away, too fast of course - when i was done - i was so upset, cuz i knew i had eaten too fast like i did in the good ol' days. Maybe even a dot more than i should have. Sure enough shortly after the food came up, but maybe TMI - it really came back up in full pieces of veal, gross. Trust me, that never happened to me again. Called my NUT in the morning worried about my sleeve, she said i should be fine, i told her i learned my lesson the hard way, and i could "see" her smiling on the other side of the phone, saying "you did learn your the hard way, but you learned to be more careful." So thats my story for good or bad. Best Kathy
  19. Just an FYI---this may be TMI for some. So...it finally happened. I ate to fast, filled up my stomach and a little more and....well...up it came. I found it really strange. I haven't actually thrown up since surgery and that was violent dry heaving. This wasn't like the violent getting sick...but it just literally came back up. No convulsing, lol, no gagging, it just simply came back up and I spit it out. Is that normal?? Is that what others have experienced? My sleeve is starting to take regular foods again and so I'm trying new stuff....but it still doesn't like some things. I got a little sick from Soup with to much grease in it too (I know...grease in soup?? Go figure)

    March Roll Call!

Thanks for the info! you can call me Karen, that's my name if you would like. I really tried to do more days, and did fine at work, just not so well the weekend! So I am totally ready for my three days, taking my laxative tonight at bedtime (tmi I know). I am so so so excited!!! I think I got most everything at the store except the gas strips, so looks like I will be walking over to the drugstore at lunchtime from work tomorrow. Did I mention I was a little excited?

    Is It Safe..

So I guess I am on day 7? Not sure if I count the day of surgery in my post-op counts or not, but I don't guess anyone really cares right? LOL I hadn't had a bowel movement all week but kept telling myself I really wasn't putting much in other then liquids and then today I decided I would search the forums on "constipation" just to see what advice might be out there and low and behold as I am searching nature comes along on her own and although it wasn't much I am guessing it was about what I have input!! TMI I know but wanted to type something and this was the closest thing to my heart!!
  23. "The foam" is what we call slime. I had to look it up on VSGtalk to make sure nothing was wrong. If you eat too much, which isn't saying much, your stomach doesn't have room for the stomach juices that rush to break down your food. So, it just comes up. You have to eat SLOOOOOW. I take 30-40 min. to eat. But, if you take 1 bite too many, there just isn't room. I just use a cup and spit. I know TMI, but just being real. It will pass after 1/2 hr. Much easier than hurting. To me, it's not the same as throwing up, it is sliming! Hope this helps.
  24. Hi, I waited a day or two to post that I reached onederland. Very excited but a little sceptical because my weight has been fluctuating the entire time. I eat right, I exercise, drink lots, get in my protien. Not many issues, maybe except for constipation (sorry if TMI). I post I am 198, so excited, and that officailly means I claim it and believe it. I know I can not gain it back. I worked harder, exercised more and ate less yesterday than I have since I have been sleeved. I also drank a ton yesterday. What happens, I wake up this morning 199.6 , yikes. Do any of you lose two, then gain one, the entire time. I never never just go down, down. I am either stuck or gain one of my two pound loss back. It is so aggravating! I have no reason to complain and actaully satisfied when I look at the big picture (my ticker). I never could of lost what I had without my WONDERFUL sleeve!
  25. I wish I could do that sometimes, but it seems like since I've had surgery I can't seem to throw up. I know it's tmi but I gag just nothing will come up
