I have been going though the same thing. My last fill was in October, but I have been going back and forth. One day I feel fine and then the next day I cannot eat all day. Finally in the evening I can eat a little bit. Anyway, I was having a lot of sinus/allergy problems and started taking Zyrtek and it seems to help. I was able to eat lunch and dinner today with no problems, and I actually feel hungry tonight. I was having a lot of Post Nasal Drip(I know TMI) but the allergy medicine seems to clear it up.....hopefully it continues to work.

Overweight Family/friends
RossJL replied to ProudGrammy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Likasulema, Lol you make me giggle :-) its not TMI, we are all adults here! The fact of the matter is that the better you feel as in knees, back etc... The more exciting and pleasurable the experience is between husband and wife, there's nothing shameful about that! I personally am excited to get back to my old sex drive because the more weight I gained and the more exhausted I stayed and the more self conscious I got the more it affected that experience between us. Good luck to you!! -
You may have had more sodium. I wouldn't panic. My weight does fluctuate from time to time. Also (warning: possible Tmi) you may not have had a healthy bm. That sometimes helps. ???? Sent from my Z981 using the BariatricPal App

Am I An Idiot For Buying Clothes I Cannot Fit Into Yet?
Catracks replied to Catracks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
44I - Oh your poor, poor back and shoulders. I didn't know "i" existed. I'm with you. I would like to have my B cup back. What is it with men. TMI, but why would they need more than a handful? -
Same problem here. My doc told me to get 80 oz of water in a day. a colace (or it's generic) in the morning and in the evening. He also told me to take MIlk of Magnesia to get a "breakthough," but not regularly. I have to start the extra water and colace tomorrow. Concrete bowels is so right! Hope it's not TMI, but this morning I covered my finger with some Saran Wrap and used it to apply some A&D ointment to my behind to help it come out more comfortably. It was a relief.

I had my gastric sleeve done on April 16, 2019. I’m currently in my full liquids stage. When I drink water or eat jello or just consume anything within the rules so to say, I can’t tell if my stomach hurts because I’m full or gassy. I’ve been burping a lot after surgery but past two days I have been having a lot of gas (TMI, sorry). Anyone feel the same?

OK...here's what I have to say abuout this...first off I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one with a problem not being able to pooh. I recently went to the doctor for severe back pains and I go back this Friday for a follow-up. Well...after thinking about it, I'm probably in pain because I don't go to the bathroom very often. Prior to surgery, I was completely opposite. I could not go anywhere after eating because it came right back out. Now...I am LUCKY if I go once a week and when that time comes, it's not very comfortable. I use Benefiber but it hasn't been very successful for me. The Benefiber doesn't make me gassy, but I have to say that since surgery I have been gassy anyway. I'm very lucky to have a private office at work because let me just tell you...it's not very nice at work sometimes (I know...TMI). So everyone...good luck with this blockage problem...I'm fighting the same fight at you guys!!! -
Does anyone else get food stuck in their throat?
MB0116 replied to MB0116's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It gets stuck right behind my thyroid (where my Adam's apple would be if I were a man. Originally I'd thought mt thyroid was swollen and causing an obstruction. So it doesn't get down very far at all. In fact if I just stick out my tongue the food comes back up. Sorry if that's TMI. -
4+ Weeks PostOp and having Port Pain
salsa1877 replied to mklady63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is probably very normal to have port pain and even gas pain especially after increasing workout. I did a 5K race followed by a 6.25 mile walk/run today and my port HURTS tonight. I was about double over in the grocery store tonight. My guess is (and this is not a medical opinion) that the muscle that the port is stiched to is not one that we used much as fat, non exercising poeple. So now we use it and it gets sore and the fact that it has something stiched to it make the irritation worse. My feels like a REALLY bad toothache. As for the gas, you are still relatively early after surgery. A few pockets of gas may have been trapped somewhere that they were not causing pain. Now you have been moving around more and exercising and they moved. Is it this type of gas or "tooty" gas (you know the TMI kind!). They are different. If it is tooty gas it could be a change in your diet. Or it could be milk. Have you ever been lactose intolerant? I never was before, but after surgery I can only do cheese and yogurt...and in very moderate amounts. I can't do milk and I can't do ice cream (not that I need it). If you are noticing that you are having problems after eating dairy try to eliminate it and see if that helps. Hope some of these suggestions find a good home! -
How many days did it take for you to have your first bowel movement after surgery?! On day four and nothing yet.

What was your longest stall and how far out were you
beba238 replied to Reigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be 5 months on Monday and I have been stalled for several weeks now. In June in less than one week i dropped 9lbs. went from 234 to 225 and then I stood at 224. In July I was stuck between 224-220 now in August I finally went down to 216 but keep gaining between 220-218. Today i realized that I haven't poop (SORRY TMI) as much. Especially since i am drinking Iron. Bowel movements are very important. I'm terrified of not losing anymore but I am keep my hope up! -
I too was sleeved on the 9th and since surgery I have lost 11lbs like you. I lost some on the pre op diet so I am happy with my total loss so far. What I am most pleased about is that I have broken the triple digit mark (I now weigh less than 100kg!! and am only in double digits - btw I live in Australia I know what you mean about being so busy, or maybe too busy, my kids are aged 10, 3 and 11 months. I only just went back to work today after surgery but cant complain having had such a good break/recovery. My 10 yr old and my biggest child (husband) have been super helpful, so that has taken the pressure off. But picking up my 3 yr is hard, he is too big and heavy so soon after surgery. I am a total shocker when it comes to the scales as I weigh daily - although there isnt a loss every day, it is consistently going down. The scale and I are friends now cos its going down as opposed to only ever going up. I think though, if you're experiencing incision pain, that's definitely a cue that you need to take it a little bit easier on yourself. Take care and all the best on your journey! That's awesome you have lost the same as me! I have actually seen the scale go up and pound or two but then it drops back down. It is devastating when that happens and it freaks me out! I have decided to not weigh myself until Friday! I will become obsessed if I weigh in every day and don't see it move.. argh! I think part of my weight "gain" here and there is also because I am having trouble with constipation. TMI perhaps but it's apart of life, especially after WLS. Miralax is becoming an every day thing for me! I think some is Water retention too as I haven't been getting in 64 ounces each day. I didn't really get that in before surgery! I've never been a big drinker of anything so it is work for me to get that in!!

Traveling for Plastics/how to pick a surgeon?
Luu2008 posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am heading towards making my goal weight this summer but we are not in the financial place to pay for surgery, I'm working P/T to save enough $. I am hoping for a combined tummy tuck and breast lift (implants if needed). My parents live in rural Wyoming, we are in New York. Due to DH's busy career and having small children my mom has offered to care for me post surgery. I don't see any other way. How do I pick a good surgeon w/o being from the area? Do I schedule consults via phone with photos? Is that even possible? Should I go for consults this summer when I am visiting my family, this would be one year ahead of scheduling a surgery? I am not sure how long a stay this will require as far as being near the surgeon for after care. My dh will be able to stay with me up to 2 weeks in Utah while my mom cares for our kiddoes. I know of several good surgeons here in NY, its frustrating.... My plan is to have surgery in Utah and then driving or flying to my parents home (drive is 9 hours, flight is one hour). My parents own an RV and have offered it so I could lay down during the trip which seems more pratical to me. My fear is if there should be complications and follow up care after that initial 2 weeks I'll be stuck in rural Wyoming nearest major hospital is in Montana 2 hours away, then 6 weeks later I will be back in NY 2000 miles away from my surgeon. I hope this wasn't TMI. -
Eating too fast, not chewing enough, or???
CurvyMom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just getting opinions BEFORE I decide if I want to email the doctor's office. I call them about two weeks ago and they never called me back, so I figure I would get opinions here before I waste time calling them 6 weeks P.O today.....allowed all foods. I have been eating yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken salad....etc. Added in occassionally- blue berries, some raw veggies, some cooked veggies. I have had some experience with what I assumed was eating too fast/too much and/or not chewing enough and eventually i have to throw up to feel better. the past week, i have throw up almost every meal with protein in it unless it was yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna (although once I threw that up), chicken salad yesterday. This morning I feel like i have blue berries stuck and threw up a few time already. These berries were soooooo small. Smaller than my normal pills I can swallow without being sick. two days ago i threw up salmon and green beans (maybe the beans?), then yesterday I threw up my lunch which was rotisserie chiicken (but there was definitely a piece of chicken stuck for hours...so I know i didnt chew it enough- cuz i saw it later TMI SORRY)..... any suggestions? Shoudl I just slow the hell down and go back to soft only and stop trying proteins that are "denser"....I really don't think I have a stricture though because I am able to keep down plain cottage cheese, plain yogurt, liquids ...etc but who am I to know. I am also not losing any weight right now which could be that I"m just not getting enough protein in or I am just stalled- but my primary issue is the vomitting almost every day. -
Yep... I had to look... The TMI warning was too much to resist.. And I got exactly what I deserved...

Hi, I am 5 weeks and 3 days out of surgery... so about a month and two weeks... lets just say... Well, about a week after surgery my period came and it was about 4 days early... was different then normal(hope this isnt TMI) i bled heavily the first few days then lighter then stopped - then started again .... anyways... I have lost 27 lbs so far been working out alot- sometimes 2 times a day.. cut my eating alot and over all eating healthier Well here is the problem that I am freaking out about... I am now a few days late on my period... I have taken 3 different pregnancy test and all of them are negative... I do not want to be pregnant seeing I just had the surgery adn my doctor told me to wait at least a year... Could my late period be due to weight loss??? or did any of you experience this???? I am panicing over here and lost on what to do??? any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Day 2 after surgery
HDubSleevery replied to Forensikchic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey lady! I am so glad you are up and at 'em! I'm on a 3 day countdown to sleevery. It's so close but so far. Oh and about your TMI...any time I get antibiotics, I get all "bakery". I completely forgot, but I will have to tell my medical team about it so I can have something. Keep the posts coming. I have two weeks left of my classes online so as long as I am able, I will be online next week! -
after surgery 09/12/17 tuesday
Coffeelark replied to binocjohn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine on 12th too. Walking, even rocking in rocking chair help with gas pain. I use a warm pack on my abdomen and shoulders, it helps gas dissipate. I used a glycerine suppository, it helped me pass some gas. TMI. Rest some, but walk more. Water, water, water...in small sips. -
I had mine today! It was quick and painless. I had an upset tummy the rest of the day, but I kept drinking water and tea and it finally got all the barium out. Don't be surprised if you have a few loose stools after. I know TMI, but its true! Good luck, just remember it is all part of the journey. kelli

Bypass was Monday. . Home sore as... ! Venting session
Daisy0818 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
First night at home was a challenge. So for stuck with this drain tube, and my stomach is super sore. Tried so many ways to get comfortable in my bed , fail number 1 : my bed is high off the floor and my short self needs help to get on . My husband has literally grab my ass checks and put me in the bed and gently as possible. Tried to put all these pillow and folded blankets around me to get myself comfy , woke up in pain at 130am. Fail 2 hubby said ton wake him to help me move or potty. What he do .. zzzzzzz. So I screamed at my teenager to come help and he did .. walked in the restroom and keep the door slightly opened so he can still reach me , but I wanted to close it and he saw (tmi) my tampon wrapper and asked ,mom u started your period too ?!, I sure did started my period _ perfect timing fail 3.. now I'm sitting in my recliner with my back super sore and stomach sore and trying to burp or far whichever comes out first .. and my 5 yr old wants to watch batman. Took half a dose of my pain meds and sipping on my protein shake .. -
I've been banded since Oct 29, 08 and to this day, I haven't eaten steak or salad since my banding. I'm terrified I'll get them stuck. Does that seem crazy? I don't have any problems with chicken, hamburger meat, grilled fish, or even lamb chops... but am terrified to try steak. And the lettuce in the salad scares me... it seems like pre-banding, no matter how well I thought I chewed it, it seemed like I'd always poop out a piece of lettuce.. (TMI, I know... sorry!) So, should I just suck it up and try them??? Are you guys able to eat steak and salads???

Hey y'all on Thursday I started running a fever, body aches and chills and had a ton of nausea. This continued on with diarrhea through to today sorry for TMI. I had to go to the ER because of dehydration and it turned out I had kidney infection but what was more concerning was they said I had an enlarged spleen and elevated liver enzymes. Has anyone ever had this happen to them. In addition, I haven't been able to eat since Wednesday and I feel very weak. I can't even carry my 12 month old. Every time I try eating my stomach hurts so I've just been drinking fluids but start with nausea. Any words of advice or wisdom are much appreciated. I am 5 months post op.
