Good Morning all. I'm on track to be down another 2-3lbs this week. Not having any problems since my first fill. I'm trying to stay active these days and mix up my workout. I played tennis yesterday and it was fun, so that may be my summer sport of choice. The key is to watch what you eat and keep movin. I would like to take dance lessons like DWTS, it's working well for Kirstie. Have a great day everyone!!

First off, I want to say I'm a happy mom, my son turned 6 today! Time is flying by. Ok, now to get to my update. I have come to the realization that I have been worying too much about this band. I have had some swelling and soreness at my port area and thought it should have been healed by now since I am almost 4 wks post-op. Thanks to my good friend Holly for bringing back down to earth and pointing out that the swelling can last 6-8 weeks. I feel better now. Going to try to stop thi...

Hi Theresa,
Yeah, my new Bday is September 2nd. I'm doing well now. I second guessed my decision about 4-5 days after I had the surgery, but now I'm okay. Recovery is going pretty good. Although I leaned up against my kitchen counter today and one of the incisions on the right side really hurt. It's the only one that hurts. The port incision is still tender but not like what I felt on the right side. I live in Indiana and am 44 years old. I wasn't over weight all my life. I got pregnant when I was 27 and got up to 219 only to get down to 170 and got married and well, it was up hill from there. That's why I'm here now. I guess I was enjoying life too much. Now, I'm really ready to enjoy life and not allow food to be the center of it. How are you doing with recovery? Did you ever experience the left shoulder pain? Oh, that was terrible. All in all I'm good. When do you have your first fill? Mine is scheduled for September 29th but I think that might be too early. I may delay it by a week. We'll see. Talk to you soon. Ann

Hi Plum,
My approval process wasn't too complicated at all. I had to submit all of the required documents( which consisted of a psych evaluation, nutrition consult, bloodwork, referral from my primary doctor, EKG, and abdominal ultrasound. I waited about 2 weeks for approval.

Hello thanks for writing back
I live in Northern california. I have jumped through all the hoops just waiting for insurance to say yes. I have blue shield they said it is the easiest and fastest to reply. My doctor is here in town. He has a center of execellace which I understand is important.
Did you see my stats are we close. I am crossing my fingers for the next two weeks sugery . I am married since 92 have two childrens a daughter who is going to be 14 in sept and a son who is 11. They are all backing me. My hubby is a bit nerious about as he says going under the knife... But I need help dieting alone just doesnt work for me. My family was complety against the bypass. We had a neighbor do this she looks great weight wise but not healty not to sure eating habits have changed much.
Look forward to getting to know you and hopefully having a buddy

thank you. first i followed my docs directions, then i ate really healthy. salads with chicken, or shrimp, or sprinkle some tuna (healthy but tasty dressing, nothing creamy). i've stayed away from red meats completely, and breads. i eat lots of kashi products. workouts...i hung a heavy bag, got a all in one gym(garage sale), and a jump rope. i usually work out 4-5 a week, 45-60 mins. and me and my girl walk the dogs EVERDAY. thanks for the message, im sure ull have the same success.

I have gained more than 50 pounds since having a couple of surgeries - one for breast cancer. I will be banded next Thursday and I would love to know what to expect the first two weeks after surgery.
