For Anyone Who Wants To Know How Fast The Loss/changes Happen....
Ms skinniness replied to JayhawkJess33's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
CONGRATS! This is a success! I didn't feel like I had really lost weight until the wind started blowing me around. Also I started doing weird things like walking like I was a little intoxicated because I hadn't adjusted to the new body weight or being at work and the pants I wore that fit in the am was so baggy they would almost fall off. I love these NSV's! There are a lot more to come for you guys! It's awesome. Time to dance the happy dance! Where are my banana's? -
great job / NSV are the best ever

I went to the Dr. yesterday for my annual check up and they gave me "the gown" to put on ANNNDD....it fit! It was the regular gowns they always have that always leave my tid bits showing, but not this time! YYAAAYYY!!!

I had to take some paperwork to my neurosurgeon's office this morning. The last time I was in there, I was 325 pounds. I am now 268. To me I don't look that much different, but she had to do a double take when I walked into her office. I guess I look that much different. I have dropped from a 26 to an 18. It feels good to know all my hard work is paying off.

Congrats!! That feeling is a great NSV

My hubby, who was not supportive of the surgery, has been a sweetheart. He just got me an ipad 2 as a gift for my first 25lbs. I am loving it all, the attention, the weight loss and the ipad 2 of course!!

Congratulations! Great NSVs. Over if my friends said the "you're tiny" comment to me recently and it felt odd, yet fun to hear.

Husbands totally not understanding???
kkandrod replied to kkandrod's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks y'all for the responses!!! So, I was talking to him tonight and he seems to be coming around, maybe, lol. He said, "I don't know baby, part of me wants to tell you to go for it because I know it's what you really want to do but the other part of me is still thinking about how crazy having 85% of your stomach cut out seems." It's an improvement y'all! LOL Bless his heart. As far as not wanting someone else to make this decision for me, I understand those sentiments. But, I also know that when I really want to do something, even though I seek the Lord's guidance for everything, I sometimes mistake my fleshly desires and reasons as His answer. In our marriage, when it comes to things that will affect not just the one person but the whole family, we both make sure and pray for God's answer, not ours. So, when I said that if my husband felt like he was led by the Lord to not be for this, I would have to really take that seriously. I know this may not make much sense to some, lol. But, I just wanted y'all to know I'm not married to some control freak or anything, lol. He's an amazing man who I trust with my life and who I know seeks the Lord's guidance in everything too and if he felt to his core that God was not giving him peace about this, I would have to listen because I trust him and know him well enough to know that he wouldn't just say that to keep me from doing something, it would be, literally, the God's honest truth. Trust me, I'm spoiled ROTTEN and he would bend heaven and earth to give me anything I ask for and has, 'til now:wink0: And will with this too if we are both given the green light from Above. Ok, so obviously, y'all know more about me now. Hope ya didn't mind that little marriage bio there, lol. Thanks again for all the replies! I really hope to get to know y'all alot better! You ladies are some amazing and strong women!! I spent an hour or so reading over the NSV's thread. SO inspiring, heartwarming and funny!!! Oh I PRAY that I get to be posting on there soon with my little ticker in my signature!! Hey, maybe my hubby's quote up there at the top of this post could be considered my first little NSV huh? LOL Have an awesome night ladies and fellas!! God Bless y'all! Krystal -
So very happy for you! The NSV's are the best in my book

I am so excited, I just got off the phone with my primary care physician. November 2009 I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, with an A1C of 7.4 ~ which gave me a slap of reality and triggered my weight loss journey. I was banded 10/21 and have lost a total of 62 lbs since 11/09 (30 lbs. post-op)... my latest A1C is 5.6!! He said I no longer have to take medication for Diabetes. :bananajump: This is in edition to my two other nsv's of having to buy all new winter clothes because nothing from last year fits and being able to cross my legs comfortably. This really reassures me that I made the right decision getting my band.

Serious Contemplation
Brooklyn732 replied to Brooklyn732's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks again for all the support ladies! I really enjoy this site. M2G you're awesome! Well I called my surgeons office and spoke to the lady who works with the insurance companies and manages the surgery scheduling. She's really cool and down to earth (and has the same bday as me...lol) and she told me which of the 2 new surgeons I should go with and actually told me she thought I would REALLY like him and get along with him so that reassured me. She set up a meeting with him in a couple weeks so I can ask all my questions and make myself more comfortable. So I feel much better about the surgery. On another note I've RE-dedicated myself to my diet and maintaining healthy eating habits. I've been on a roller coaster over the last few weeks with my family issues and work and the holidays. But I'm refocused now. I'm going to continue doing 2 Protein shakes a day and one sensible meal. My other issue was that since I started working out, I get SOOOO hungry at night!! I'm eating nonstop and not always the good stuff. But I am not combatting that with drinking more Water and staying out of the kitchen! LOL. And I had my trainer weigh me last night. After 4 weeks of working out, I actually gained 5lbs. BUT I know its my fault because of my poor eating. BUT....I lost 4 inches in my chest and 4 inches in my waist and hips. AND I gained an inch in my biceps so if anyone wants to see the GUN SHOW, I'll be selling tickets soon!! LMAO!! Can we say NSV?? This is motivation to continue my workouts but also get back into my diet. I'm FOCUSED!! LOL. I may even have to post some before and after pics so show off my sexy. But I promise to keep them G rated! -
Woke up and my former fat girl anytime knock around sweatpants are (drumroll.....) falling off!!!! Not falling all the way to ankle but loose and not wearable!!!!! Yay!
-
Hi All I think I like the NSV over the scale victories yesterday I put on some size 16 jeans that use to be tight they were so loose I could put them on and take them off easily without unbuttoning!

To sleeve or not to Sleeve.... actually I think i've made my mind
feedyoureye replied to 2bslimkim's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
When I was younger I had a normal BMI (before BMIs were "in") around 20-30 years ago, and I thought I was fat. I was constantly dieting from the age of 9. Slowly, finally I got fat for real. I'm hoping this time I can enjoy my normal BMI, and not think I am still fat! That would be a great NSV! -
Congratulations! Awesome nsv! make it a great day
