  1. I just wanted to share my nsv with everyone. I've lost more than 50 pounds since I started this journey its been slow going and kinda frustrating but I'm really seeing results in my body. I started this process as a size 24 on the bottom inching towards a 26. Now I sit solidly in 18! Which means of shrunk out if every piece of bottom wardrobe I own lol. ...What a wonderful problem to have :-) My biggest challenge now is to find the mythical size 18 Jean at thrift stores. I would love to hear stories about others nsv, who else has shrunk out of their pants?

    Share Your NSVs Here Please!

Good one readyset. I can't wait till you slip into that airplane seat either. I had a funny nsv last night. I wasn't paying attention and reached for my SF pudding on the coffee table and of course, knocked it over onto the carpet. Boy was I annoyed. I started to clean the carpet while bending over, which is a killer on the back. Suddenly I realized hey, I could get down on the floor and get up again. so I did. Imagine someone smiling while cleaning a stain on the carpet. Well that was me last night. LOL!

Crazy NSV I fit better in the seat of my car when I got my car last year I couldn't see the seat I was right up against the middle console n door n was disappointed with downsizing my car I felt how big I was. Yesterday while driving I looked down and saw the seat my thighs did not cover the whole thing the car doesn't feel right anymore. Can't wait to get in a plane in July and see what it is like In that seat last year I barely closed the seatbelt .... To be continued

    Astonished.....NSV

Congrats on your NSV. Keep a record..your going to get a lot more!
  5. So yesterday i went to one of my hairdressers that i haven't been to since about a month and a half before surgery. Immediately after i said hello, She was like OMG, You have lost alot of weight. then continues to say, you're about the size you were when i first started doing your hair about 5 years ago. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! What... did she say that? i'm all smiles over here. So i'm leaving work early today and won't return here on site for over a month. Many people here says daily or no less than every other day about how much weight i've lost, how good i look, or asking how much weight lost, etc. I'll be out of town on buisness for 2 weeks, go on vacation for a week, then back out of town for another week or two. SO when i return back at my site hummmm, let's say at least June 2nd, Wonder what look, questions, or wise remarks that i will get? Lol, What do you think?

Need help come to far to GIVE UP!

Everyone one loses at different rates but looked at your eating plan my first reaction is that it's too high in carbs and not enough protein. It could be your are just in a stall too. That happens from time to time. How are cloths fitting and have your measurements changed? When the scale isn't moving you have to look for those NSVs!
  7. Just moved into my new apartment this weekend, one of the teens asked my daughter if her mom was the skinny lady that's always running up and down the stairs! OMG! The skinny lady!
  8. Thank you very much, Ladies for your support and inspiration. Jeanaluvskisses, thinndskies and Gingersnaps! You have great reminders of NSV's. I've started a list of all the NSV accomplishments I would like to see and many of the ones listed here are reminders of items to put on my list. Like you have said, it may not be just a clothing or shoe size but ease of movement, walking without puffing or the ability to get up out of a chair easily. I'm looking forward to following this thread in the weeks, months and years to come as I progress and experience many successes on my new journey.

    So just what is success?

Great topic Gowalking! Through this journey the meaning of success is ever changing for me. At first it was ok I need to loss 50% of my excess weight within one year, then it was I need to get to onederland, then it was to hit my goal weight and now it's like you said it's the desire to sustain where I'm at right now for the rest of my life. It was all the little victories along the way that meant the most to me and motivated me to keep going. The NSVs of going down a size or two, going to the Dr. and having tests done and everything coming back perfect, it's in the smiles on my family's face when they see how happy I am to be able to do something I wasn't able to do one year ago, it's that feeling of self-worth at the end when all is said and done that I set out to do this for myself to become healthy and of course look and feel human and have done just that. It's about being the person I've always been on the inside but at times was hesitant because of my outward apperance. I would like to encourange others through my experiences along this journey to help someone else who is where I was, that is what ULTIMATE success looks like for me. I want to be able to give others hope regardless of their current situation that they can change their life.

    So just what is success?

To me, the goal isn't just once I've reached my destination, but the journey I'm making and watching how the NSVs stack up. I'm enjoying it as I go. Sounds dumb, but not sure I'll be any happier once I get there. Kinda like working a puzzle. Once you finish........then what?

    eating out red lobster

I agree about the cheddar biscuits! But here's a NSV... when I allow myself to have any of them, I am now able to eat just one. Not sayin' it's easy, but I've done it several times.
  12. I had quite a few NSV I couldn't wait for, they were getting my wedding rings to fit, cross my legs when sitting, not have to shop in plus sizes anymore, weigh less than 200lbs, feel confident taking pictures I have accomplished all of these in 3 months! I still want to get off my blood pressure meds and have a normal bmi, I'm working on it!

    How about some NSVs!?!?

When I started my journey 9 months ago I was wearing a 5x. I am now in a 2x. I was wearing 10w shoe and now wear a 10. I used to wear a 9 so I am curious to see if I go down a size. I've enjoyed so many NSV over the past nine months and I have no doubt you will too. On a side note I sold half my 5x clothes on eBay and netted over $450. I still have the other half to list which I will probably do in the next couple of months. Clothing that wasn't up to snuff to sell I donated to GoodWill. I loved walking in there one day to see some of my clothes and shoes for sale. It made me feel good inside. I know first hand how hard it is to find good quality used clothes at a good price. Happy NSV to come!
  14. I'm reading alot about folks reaching goal, trying to reach goal, almost at goal, not successful, not as successful as they want to be, blah, blah, blah.... So...here's the question. What is it that means success to you? Is it reaching a goal weight? Is it some NSV that you've attained? Is it a change in your perception of self? Something to do with relationships perhaps? I'm curious what you all think. I'll start it. I reached goal in terms of weight a couple of months ago. But my idea of success is not hitting goal weight. It's being this size more or less the rest of my life. I've lost alot of weight before, but as usual, put it back on and some extra just for the hell of it. My son says he doesn't recognize me and it bothers him. He knows the fat me...and I understand that. I was fat for a very long time. He doesn't remember when I was this size some 20 years ago. I want him to start to think of me this size so that he's comfortable with the smaller me. That means I have to stay this way. That's success in my eyes. What about the others on this forum? What's your definition of success?
  15. This is inspiring to me as it is not all about the scale victories! I’m 12 weeks out today and haven’t had many Non Scale Victories (NSV’s) yet! One big one was last week and I didn’t need a seat belt extension on one leg of the flight! My 5x clothes are starting to get loose on me which is a good thing. I wanted to post here so when I start chalking up all my NSV’s I remember how far I have come. At this time I still use beach towels, wear a size 30 but can get into my 28’s now. I usually sit while I’m in the shower, still don’t sit in a booth and chairs with arms at restaurants make me nervous. I can’t get down the airplane isle without bumping into people on each side. It doesn’t help to turn sideways either as I’m wide both ways. I still pull myself up the banister to get up the stairs. I can’t really shop or go site seeing as I get winded too easily. I have to lean on my shopping cart to get around the store. Okay, this is sounding like a laundry list of why I had the surgery and it is. I’ve noticed all of the posts on here about those that have crossed these hurdles and had major NSV’s! Bring it on!

    NSV: I woke up sexy

    NSV

My hubby took me to the store yesterday because I needed a spring jacket. A wind breaker..Anyway he kept bringing me size large jackets and they were too big...Finally he said..I just can't believe this your a medium jacket...I said, obviously in this style at least.. Shaking his head he said he never expected any of these things to happen and the fact that I take a smaller size jacket then him, has just floored him..... I love it when he is shocked at the new me emerging!!!

    NSV: I woke up sexy

congrats. cant wait to have nsv's like this!
  19. Don't get me wrong...my ego hasn't gotten to the Beyonce "Flawless" stage: I'm flawless...I woke up like this, I woke up like this... Not hardly. I'd also like to add that I've never had a big problem with self esteem, even at my heaviest I felt attractive. I've had my band for about 9 1/2 months now and it has been a great journey to say the least. I enjoy the weight loss with this device and I like the fact that I can go off course, gain a few pounds, give it a day or two and be back to normal. Love it! Anyway, while I've been losing, there are times when I feel like I am "bad built", out of proportion and simply without feminine form. Now that my weight as stabilized, my body no longer has to go through the big top, small bottom - normal - small top, big bottom - normal - big top, small bottom...you know the thing that seems to happen about every 5-7lbs. I haven't lost or gained in about two weeks and as a result my shape is truly starting to show and I love it. I looked in the mirror this morning and said to myself "damn...I'm sexy!" I've done that many times before (you have to give yourself pep talks or no one else will) but this time it wasn't forced and seemed to just slip out. I guess because I truly feel sexy, in a way that I don't think ever have before.
  20. right for me?

I totally feel you! I can't wear my wedding r. I've had it fall off twice and thankfully I noticed it when it came off right away. I'm not wearing it right now and will likely have it resized at the end of the summer. Kind of afraid to have it done before then because I'm not done losing weight and I don't want to have to have the resizing done twice.
