I posted on my blog this week regarding how I passed the Jazzercise Instructor Audition on Thursday and was basically on cloud nine for a couple of days. I'm very proud of that accomplishment, but I'm even more proud of yesterday. After the initial audition we had a day of seminars and then a day of movement technique/critique. Yesterday was the movement technique day and I can say that I've never worked out so hard in all of my life, BUT it was also one of my proudest days too. It was an 8 hour day with about 5 or so hours spent moving at a high intensity...skipping, jumping, lunging, etc. and even weights and ab work thrown in there for fun:-) I sweat through 3 different workout outfits when all was said and done (glad I listened and brought extras). Looking back over the past 11 months, I'm simply amazed out how much my life has changed for the better. I can remember when I first started taking classes at about 220 lbs. how I thought it would be neat to be an instructor and I knew that I had the dance and leadership ability, but I also knew that I wasn't physically strong enough to make it through the process (couldn't always perform high impact/high intensity and even though that's okay for a student, instructors need that ability). Now I feel so strong and am so grateful that I had this procedure to help me achieve my goals!

I’m down 75#. Biggest NSV is that packing for a trip is so much easier. My jeans take up a fraction of the space! For someone who packs carry-on only, this is a HUGE (or maybe small) deal. :). I was even able to pack tennis shoes to work out - I’d never have had room for that before!! Now I just have to resist the urge to fill my bag.

I went clothes shopping today at a store (with the pandemic haven't done much of that). Not sure if it is the pandemic or my weight loss, but my experience today was SO different then in the past. I had a number of sales people approach me right off the bat. Friendly, offering to help. In the past, I would wander the same store on my own without anyone offering to help. I've seen others post about being treated differently after losing weight and while i'm not positive that's what this was, it's certainly something I'll watch for. The NSV --- I took one of the sales people up on their offer to help and mentioned after losing weight I'm not really sure what size I am. She knew immediately what options to pull and I am in a size 28 jeans! That's a size 8, as in single digits!!! I am also wearing a Small in a number of tops. Holy $(@*. 🤯

LilMissDiva Irene replied to Susanne's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@Susanne - what an amazing NSV!!! LOL I bet you were just like... - at least that's how I do when I realize I'm doing something for the first time in a long time. Whoohooo!!!! Continue to rock that sleeve lady!!! @ Jane - that's so funny you mention a booty that you can rest a plate on. I was talking to a lady this weekend that mentioned a butt and called it a "shelf". OMG -- I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!! LOL!! Now, she's the nicest lady so I know she meant no harm, in fact she said it that way to avoid just saying "fat butt"... haaa!!! -

Congrats! I have the cutest NSV related to this ever...if you heard it I apologize. My son is was 2 when I had the surgery last February. A few months later, he might have been 3, he woke up during the night in his room, next door to ours. The house was dark. I found him quivering on our bed, obvious he had been awake for some time but never cried. I was like "Benjamin! What is wrong baby?" My husband jumped up, he was so upset, just shaking and could barely talk. He finally cried and said "I LOST MY FAMILY!". I was like, what? No you didn't baby, we are right here. And he is still quivering and says, "But I couldn't HEAR you.". My husband and I looked at each other like WHAT? and we both realized at the same time it was because I wasn't snoring anymore. I was his sonar in the night I guess...who would know he would find out bed by listening for his momma snoring. I asked him later how he finally found our bed, and he said his nanny (he called her by name) came and got him by the hand and brought him to our bed. She wasn't even there! But I knew then she is his angel, or maybe my grandma was his angel and he thought it was her. But how sweet his guardian angels watch over him while he sleeps. He was very scared. -

The husband was taking some clothes out of the dryer ( he does not do this often) and he pulled out a pair of my jeans and said "Who's are these" I gave him a funny look and said mine why? He said "No, way, they like Tammy's".. Now mind you, Tammy is his sister and she probably wears like a size 1 or 2. I laughed and said thanks, but I am no where near Tammy's size. He really was shocked, he could not see it on me, but when he held up my new size pants it suddenly hit him. I really don't think he is capable of seeing sizes, his own or mine.

I'm down 40 pounds, and almost to my 1st goal. According to my BMI, I'm still considered overweight but if I don't lose another pound, I will be just as content. Had an awesome NSV last week. Was talking to a stranger outside and was shivering from the cold. I had never met this person before so they had no idea what I looked like pre-sleeve and he said "well of course your cold, you're too skinny not to be"! First time in my life I've ever been called skinny!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Just A Little Nsv Over The Weekend
Lissa replied to 101driver's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's not a small NSV. It's HUGE!! I find myself taking pictures of myself now and I've never done that before. I take pics because I really like the outfit I have on, or because I like my hair that day. NEVER would have happened before. I'm thrilled that you're now in the family pictures! That's terrific for you and for them!! -
Went to costco today and they had Kenneth Cole dress pants on sale for $20, and Gloria Vanderbilt jeans for $12.99! I bought a size 14 and size 12 in the jeans, and one pair of black pants - I decided to buy size 12 since I have a couple pairs of 16s I can still wear with a belt . . . I figured I'd have to keep the black pants for a while before they would fit. For fun, I tried them on - and they FIT!!! They are just a wee bit snug, but not too bad . . . I'm so excited! The jeans are cut a little different as the 14s fit perfectly right now, but I'm hoping to be into the 12s soon. Now I'm almost thinking I should go back and pick up a pair of the dress pants in a 10 . . . OMG. I can't believe I might be in a size 10 soon!!! I don't think I've worn a size 10 since junior high!!!!! Happy dance!!!
