I think my head is starting to catch up with my body. I am slowly connecting the dots that I have lost over 70lbs. At first people would say, you look great, you have lost weight. And I would nod and say yes I have, but in my head I still felt like a big girl. Well that mental concept seems to be disappearing. I was in walmart last night and I was actually in the junior's section fitting L(12/14). Now I don't know what that equates to in other sizes but in my world that is pretty unfreaking believable. People I am talking about Junior size clothing. I am estatic. I am wearing one of the outfits that I purchased last night, at work today and I feel that the belle of the ball. Talk about a NSV!!!!

So today, I did something I have been longing to do for years but what too scared. I joined a gym, and actually went, got the tour, and did 30 minutes on the treadmill at a brisk pace. I didnt think I could talk myself into the door, let alone complete a 30 minute workout. I know it doesnt sound like much, but for me it was a major accomplishment.

It's a beautiful Spring day! NSV - my husband has been taking time to do family walks every night -- in addition to his psychotic running schedule.

It's Friday!!! WhoooHOO!! I think we should all take a minute and post something that we are grateful for - an NSV - a happy moment - something that made you feel 10 feet tall and bullet proof - (not tequila ) - maybe someone said or did something nice for you this week that made you feel special .......and....go! my husband has been really sweet this week and he picked roses for me and made me a small bouquet and put them in a little mason jar and brought them to me at work and they are on my desk - which was really nice because he really doesn't do stuff like that - so it was 100 times more special to me that he thought of me when i really needed a pick me up this week.

Thanks, y'all. I know my weight loss is a lot less than others at six months, but the NSVs keep me going. As does reading this board.

I've been a little reserved over the whole dreaded "3 week stall" and so I am trying to encourage myself. This is what occurred to me: 1) I haven't weighed in 3 days (YAY for me) Does that count as a NSV or is it an anti-NSV? lol 2) I have successfully gotten ALL my Protein in since the day I started Protein drinks and am now able to do it with only 1 Protein shake per day They aint fancy, but I'll take 'em!

I did the BIG closet purge today . . . cleaned out ALL the 3x stuff (HURRAY!!) and organized everything else by size. I was previously wearing a size 24 jean and I got into my old size 20s . . . and they were LOOSE!! I also put on a dress I wore when I first met my husband (I think I was around 200-210 then) and it fit . . . snugly, but it fit. I'm SO excited!

NSV - Pre-surgery I would put on an outfit and look in the mirror and first question was "does this make me look fat". Now, 7 months later I can just about put on anything and not look fat. All this hard work has been worth every second,

Woohoo !!! Congratulations to all for those NSV's !!! Way to go !!! One of my first NSV's was sitting on the couch and pulling my foot up to my rear to give myself a pedicure !! No more big tummy in the way, and I did it without gasping for breath !! Hope that happens for you soon ! Good luck to all ! ! -
We are in Florida at the moment. Enjoying the wonderful weather. We were sight seeing and happened upon a very small boutique. In my experience I can never buy anything in these store but I like to look. I noticed this beautiful white summer dress and fell in love. It only came upto XL. Owner said we have a small dressing room. Oh why not. It fit like a dream. So cute. Here I am a 66 year old grandmother buying a cute white dress at a boutique. Who would have ever figured??????

OMG... I am so happy Christmas NSV
sweetbean70 replied to thinneranniesoon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I LOVE READING EVERYONE'S NSVs!! I find them to be very inspirational. I had an NSV just this evening and couldn't wait to get home and jump on the computer so I could share it. I went to go see a movie at the local theater earlier this evening. Not only was I able to sit comfortably NEXT to my hubby, but I also had my legs crossed for most of the movie. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MY BAND!!!!! PS: The movie, THE BLIND SIDE, is excellent. Just be sure to take along some tissues. -
Like most women, I have a range of sizes taking up space in the closet. Today I started going through clothes I haven't been able to wear in years. I was amazed at how many of them fit! Some of them I am sad to say I've nearly missed out on because they are basically already too big on me. Even my smallest clothes are oh so close to being publicly wearable. I can't believe it! When I look at myself in the mirror I can't really see much of a difference, but fitting into these clothes made it real to me. I really am losing this weight! I want to jump up and down!

Congratulations to you! What a great NSV! -
I have had so many NSVs in the last 3 months, but my favorite so far happened last weekend. I was working around the house and I noticed my shadow on the driveway and it had a visible waist! It has been years since my shadow was anything but a big blob with a head and legs. I was so excited. Other NSVs I have had include: Went down from 4X sweats to a 1X I can wear heels all day at work and my feet don't hurt at the end of the day I went shopping at the mall with my daughter for 3 hours and was not exhausted when we were done I no longer crave sugary rich desserts or high fat foods. Instead I crave cucumbers or turkey burgers. I can now see the cleft in my chin, and I only have 1 chin to look at:) I am no longer morbidly obese The seat belt in my van will fit around me and still have extra length to spare.

I love 1/2 price day at value village!!!!
fern posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yesterday( here in Canada) was 1/2 price day on clothing. I was determined to go as I no longer can wear ANY of my old clothing and I don't have much $ to get new clothes. I am a head baker at a bakery and had a bread competition yesterday, so I started work at 1230 in the morning and did a 17 HOUR DAY!!!! Can we say exhausted???? Talk about an NSV too cause I did it without consuming boat loads of sugar (like I used to have to) just to make it thru the day!!! Anyways, as soon as I was done, I went to 2 VV's and got 2 pairs of jeans, 2 casual dress pants, 6 shirts, and a light zip-up hoodie for 45 BUCKS!!! Yahoo!!!! AND I bought a size 14 jeans that I can get on ( but not go out in yet)!!!! I haven't worn a size 14 in about 10+ years!!! Exhausted from yesterday's marathon work day, but here I am, posting from the sauna at the gum, after having such an intense lower body weights day that my legs are still vibrating ; ) MAN do I love the sleeve! And I love the support I get here! Thanks everyone!!! Off to work I go again......
