Ive been on my 10 day pre op diet and yesterday and today have had diarhea... it looks bright yellow. I am wondering if my system is cleaning itself out or what, I know it sounds weird but I am starting to over analyze everything as I have surgery on Monday (self pay Mexico).

Vsg Has Literally Saved My Life (May Be Tmi)
Spatters3 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have been post-menopausal for 5 years. I had started spotting off and on a few months before my VSG but after surgery I have been having a full-fledged period like, every 2 weeks ! So... I followed my mother's advice (she's always right) and talked to my PCP about it. He didn't like the sounds of my symptoms and ordered an ultrasound. That showed that my uterus is enlarged and the walls were thickened. The PCP sent me to a gynecologist. She did a biopsy and I got the results today - I have endometrial uterine cancer. I now have an appointment with an oncologist and I'm pretty sure I'll be just fine (and lose more weight too ! If my hormones hadn't been stirred up by getting the VSG, I would have been content with putting up with the occasional spotting for a long, long time.... more than likely, too long. So thank you Sleevie ! And thank You God ! -Sheila- 13 replies

Post Op Questions!
Jepegurl replied to BrittanyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just swallowed my pills whole but they were about the size of an m&m. Post op day 2 was my worst pain day but I wasn't farting (TMI sorry) and I was miserable. My pain medicine was making my bowel issue worse do I stopped it. My doc told me to try aleve for a few days instead. I walked some. I'd rest for a few hours but tried to walk for 5-10 minute intervals around the house or down the street as much as I could. I was dizzy. I didn't keep track of my water intake but if I didn't pee every few hours I knew I needed to try to drink more. I understand you being hesitant to drink, not yet knowing your limits. Good luck to you! -
I haven't notices my eyelashs, but have noticed more pubic hairs! Sorry for TMI. My hair is also a couple inches long now, the new growth that is.

This post may be a lil TMI...Be warned... I was banded on March 23rd and started working out a month after. Mostly elliptical n treadmill. The other day I tried this elliptical type 'climber/stepper', it did feel very intense but I pushed through. All of a sudden I had shooting stomach pains! I got so freaking cuz I've read about people's ports flipping n stuff on here. Anywho, I could hardly continue my work out as I tried to progress to a light jog on the treadmill after. I had to SPEEDRACE home b/c I thought I wouldn't make it on time. Tonight since the weather was nice in NY, my bf n I decided to go play basketball in the park. All was going well till about 45 mins in. Again I pushed through and lasted an hour. N then I thought I would go (sorry) in my pants. =\\\ Luckily, that was not the case. I had my second fill on Monday, so I know my port is in tact, in and place for that matter. Is this due to the band. Is our metabolism or something sudden revved up???? Anyone go thru anything like this??? It's highly annoying!

I was married for 19 yrs during most of my "fat yrs". My husband died 4 yrs ago unexpectedly. 2 1/2 yrs ago I got the band placed. I started dating when I had lost about 50 lbs (was still about 60 lbs overweight). Had sex for the first time in 3 yrs after losing about 70. When I met my current husband (we've now been married 5 mths) 18 mths ago, I weighed about 25 lbs more than I do now. While I thought about my body, I'm definately not one to have sex in the dark - I like to look at his face ! (Sorry if tmi). And while I do have some dimpled skin on my stomach, losing it slowly sure did help with the skin sagging! If I had an extra $8,000 lying around, I'd probably get a tummy tuck, but the only people who see it is me and my husband who doesn't care. My husband calls me "skinny mini", cuz my legs are stick thin. I think I look like a marshmallow held up by 2 toothpicks. He says to tell you that most men don't care about saggy skin either. If he's interested enough to date you, he's interested enough to sleep with you. Like you said, if he wants you in his life, he probably doesn't care. I'm so glad that real men aren't like the ones depicted on tv as only liking waif type girls. Most women wouldn't have a chance! Good luck! Marci

Yesterday was Mother's day, and my family came over for a pot luck snack, i made a fruit platter, and made crystal light peach ice tea. Other family members brought, salad, and some made bad choices. Lol like mini meat pies, mini taco cups etc. It was a hard day for me. Im on my 90 day pre op diet. I have been doing very well, but i ate my portions of things i was aloud to have, then i had a few bites of things i was not aloud to have. Later that night i felt it, i felt crapy physicaly, and even had a very loose BM. ( tmi i know sorry) any ways the point of this post is i needed to just say i cheated on Mothers day, it made me sick and i gained 3lbs back. I learned my lesson! Wont let that happen again. But i feel bad for my moment of weakness

Judy - sorry about your mom, but it's great you were able to spend such a nice afternoon with her. We're having our Mother's Day dinner tonight and are taking my mom to a Greek restaurant. I had a fill about 2 weeks about and only now am I noticing the tightness. I was stuck all day yesterday, even on soups. This morning, coffee. However, I wonder about my allergies....they are really bad this spring so far (the dandelions are everywhere!) so I (sorry, if TMI) wonder if I'm having a lot of mucous. I just took a Reactin so hopefully that will help.

Being A Big Baby About This Gas....
daisychains7 replied to singingmom2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know the feeling. I got banded on Tuesday and my belly feels really bloated. I feel gassy. Walking and drinking lots of Water is helping move things along. How much water are you having? It's weird because on the pre op diet my BMs were incredibly painful and hard. Now they are very loose. Sorry if TMI. Lol. I can't wait til we are on regular foods and things normalize in our bodies again. -
My Band Xray And Possible Unfill Due To A Slip....
marfar7 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey everyone, So I finally did something about the horrible reflux I've endured the past 4 mths. I saw my GP this past Monday and he advised me to talk to my surgeon about possibly being too tight. I emailed the nurse and she responded promptly. Told me it sounds like a possible slip and that I needed to come in and be seen asap. I can keep almost everything down (didn't keep last nites pineapple chunks down tho - they aren't band-friendly I guess) and the only thing I have to complain about is the severe reflux I've had for almost 4 mths. I have to sleep almost sitting up on 3 pillows. Everytime Itry to roll over and get comfortable, I wake up with my pillow filled with stomach acid (sorry if tmi) and in a lot of pain. I take a handful of meds everyday (1 RX Nexium - actually my husbands prescription - 3 RX Prilosec, and 5 OTC Zantacs + Rolaids like I own stock in the company). And this past couple of weeks, I have heartburn during the day too. I thought I might be a little too tight, but have been unwilling to be seen, for fear I will be unfilled and gain my 100 lbs back. So the nurse told me they'd do an xray and if it's slipped, they'll totally unfill for 6 weeks then start the filling again. I hope to God that it's just a little tight and they just take out a little. When he filled it in Jan, the PA told me that I was at my max fill (10cc in a 14cc band) because the plunger came out by itself when he injected the Fluid. He only put .5cc. And I'm stuck at 148 now - gained 2 lbs since my last fill. Still have about 13 lbs till goal. Anyway, I'll letcha all know what happens on Monday. I have to drive 3 hrs each way to get to the doc (another reason I haven't been really excited about going). I sure hope they just take out a little fluid and all will be right with my band again. And maybe I can actually get a full nites sleep without the taste of acid in my mouth and my throat burning and feeling like I swallowed a whole peach. Marci -

I Dont Feel Any Different
LadyIvy replied to neeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We tried about a week an a half out, it was too soon. The movement made the muscles in my stomach very sore. Tried again a few days later, but I had to keep my tummy from moving too much for about 2 weeks! I think everyone will be different but the muscle healing process should be similar. NOW THAT is TMI, but I hope it helps! -
So tonight I was taking a bath and I realized that I fit in the tub a whole lot better. My hips are not stuck up against the sides as much and the water actually flows behind me. BUT more importantly, when I looked in the mirror afterwards, I could actually see my girl parts for the first time in 3 years. Lolol

Post Surgical Gas Won't Go Away!!
SabrinaS replied to tokiesgirl6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know what helped me out with my constipation and gas after surgery was a little metamucil in my crystal light I drank it 3 times Sunday and I finally had a bm monday and tuesday and that's around the time my gas went away since I could finally get it out sorry TMI lol drinkin it too often tho gives me the runs so I only do it when I feel a bit backed up. My nutritionist says its safe to use just mix it in with a large bottle of water I usually make a 24oz bottle of crystal light and add 1 teaspoon Metamucil -

Hey everyone. I was sleeved on Jan 3. Sorry if the following is TMI, but yesterday I was feeling pretty yucky and I threw up once, and had diarrhea most of the day and night. I was able to get a little food down later in the day. I woke up several times in the night feeling nauseous, and had a few more bouts of diarrhea, and have been in the restroom a lot this morning. I am sure that I have a stomach bug of some sort, but since my tummy is feeling so bad, will it hurt me to skip my vitamins just for today? I am scared to have anything in my stomach but water and tea. Anyone else have post sleeve stomach virus experience?

So it is almost Day 12. I wasn't suppose to eat mushies until day 14. However, I was literally gagging when I had to have another Soup, pudding, Jello, etc. So, I had something yesterday. Now, I know I probably shouldn't have started with this but I had some Wendy's chili and a plain baked potato with a smidge of butter. I got in about 6 small tsp. of the chili and about 5 bites of potatoes. I felt fulll and stopped. I began to feel human again,........not so tired and listless. However, about an hour afterwards, I felt super full and it was like a heavy bomb in my stomach and throat. I don't recall anyone describing a stuck episode that way. But I felt so sick last night. I chewed a mango/papaya pill which maybe helped a little and went to bed. I still felt bad when I woke up but the more I walked and was up the better I felt. So I tried about 8 small tsp. of egg saladat lunch today. Felt okay at first but then about 30 minutes later....I had the same feeling along with nausea like it was going to come back up but I couldn't burp. Since we have all been on a liquid diet for 1 month and our stomachs are not use to the band yet....is this what I have to go through to get to feeling fine with foods? I don't want this to happen everytime I eat, I am really hesitant to eat now AND I haven't even had my first fill yet! Has anyone else gone through this and if so, how long long does it last? Any other mushy foods that anyone can suggest that may be more friendly tomy stomach? PS....sorry to be TMI but it doesn't help that I have gone to the bathroom once in the 11 days since surgery.

I have them! I went through Colace, and Enema and Suppositaries...but once I was in the hospital, they gave me the world's biggest enema...and that worked it out. (Sorry for the TMI)
