Ok, so this morning I was doing my normal post workout shower. Planned on going swimming tonight and shaved as well. I shave EVERYTHING. For the first time in maybe in 10 years I was able to SEE what I was shaving... Not just by feeling. Had to share. Figured some would understand my excitement. lol

Anyone Just Had Their Band This Month?
Xanadu3460 replied to nikkinikole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 5/22/12. I did Clear Liquids for 3 days & now I am on day 4. So I can move on to Full Liquids. I lived off of Liquid Isopure Blue Rasberry. Now I am enjoying Trader Joe's Butter Nut Squash, Vita Coco, & my Isopure powder - Double Dutch chocolate & low fat milk. I am not hungry, but feel a bit light headed. Going to the RR regularly so I know I am staying hydrated. And finally had a BM this morning. (Sorry for the TMI). How is everyone else doing? -
Anyone Regret Being Sleeved?
thinkingabout-it replied to Preacher's Wife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved May 15th. E Just about every single time I take broth or juice I have a loud gurgling in my stomach and explosive diarrhaea. (tmi, i know sorry). I am thinking if this is how life is going to be for me then maybe I shouldn't have done this... I hope in time this unpleasant side effect will go away. -
There's really no way to tell. I kind of thought within an hour or two something wou'dve happened so I called my pharmacist and asked and he said "usually within a few hours" and I asked him to define a few (nicely) and he said "Oh maybe 1, but sometimes 8 or 10." Doing the math I think it took me about 14 hours. There was one exception of a tiny "spurt" (felt like it was going to be more) that was kind of like raw magnesium citrate, sorry if that's TMI, stinky as all get out. So I thought ok, game on... that was about 7pm, but nothing else happened.

Way, Way Tmi... Er... Chafing: A Funny (?) Story
ouroborous posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So, since this is TMI... I recommend you stop reading if reading about, erm, anatomical details makes you uncomfortable. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You have been warned So, this question is for the guys, but ladies -- maybe there's a parallel? I've been having some... ahem. SORENESS lately. On a very, ahem, private part of my body. OK, we're all grown ups here -- on my penis. Specifically, it's external, on the underside. As a sexually active male, the first time I realized this was going on, I immediately freaked out and rushed to the doc. for a full STD screen. I play safe, but... you can't be too careful, right? Well, the doc tested me for everything we could think of, from simple to scary, easily dealt-with to chronic, viral and bacterial. I had blood drawn, I got to have my doctor man-handle my junk (oh, joy), I peed in a cup. The good news is: I'm clean. The bad news is: I still have no idea what's up. So what's going on? Why's Mr. Happy sore all the time? The doc couldn't tell me, but he told me not to worry about illness or disease, because he couldn't find anything with about a dozen different tests. I was thinking about it yesterday and I realized something: I'm skinnier. I mean, a lot skinnier. Two years ago, I was wearing giant, baggy, 48 inch waist jeans, now I'm finding that my 36 inch waist jeans are "comfy" and I can easily fit into 34 inch waist jeans when I feel like being all 'sexy'. The soreness could just be -- drum roll, please -- chafing! I realized that it hurts in EXACTLY the place where Mr. Happy would be rubbing against my boxers when I'm out walking in my new, snug jeans! Couple that with the fact that I tend to wear fairly loose-fitting boxers (and they're made of cotton, which is warm and snuggly, but can turn into sandpaper with enough movement!) and you may well have a recipe for OUCH. Today I'm wearing 36 inch jeans instead of 34 inch, and I'm wearing my snug-fitting lycra boxer/briefs instead of the cotton boxers -- they fit much snugger, and they have a very smooth, almost silky texture. That, plus the looser jeans, and I bet you I'll discover that all of my scary "soreness" goes away within a few days. Such are the joys of being a man, and a hypochondriac, and losing lots of weight. Gents, be warned! -
Wheetsin, Really? Even mild dehydration? Because the first night I got a headache happened to be a day I had cried a lot. My only day of crying really. It was the first week and hormones you know.. Anyway, I thought because (excuse the TMI) that since my urine was not bright yellow that it wasn't the fluids. But maybe later on during the night the crying caught up with me. I will pay closer attention and see if this is a pattern. Thanks! And thanks everyone else who said it may be the fluids. I hope it is as simple as that..

Today I honestly questioned if I have some type of undiagnosed mental condition. I've been paranoid all day to the point of tears. I woke up thinking OMG I hope I don't have blood clots in my legs. I felt like I couldn't breathe. My body was tired. I thought maybe I was drinking to much. I sucked down a warm 12 ounce cup of decaf lemon green tea with no problem. Of course it gave me the "RUNS" (TMI) but my sleeve tolerated it and didn't fill up. I was worried half the day I had broken my sleeve. I also felt dehydrated. When I wasn't going through my psychosis I was sleeping. SMDH I made myself get out of the house and the fresh air helped to clear my head. I went to GNC and Target. I pushed myself to get out of the car. My body didn't want to do it. In Target I was sweating profusely and winded. My youngest son was with me and was very good with asking me if I was okay, By the time we got home I felt so much better. I truly believe we need to get out of the house after sugery. I walked my first and second day post op but hadn't been back out. It's so important to try to normalize your life after sugery or you just might go crazy!

Hey gang, long time no talk! I had a worrisome thing happen last night that I need feedback on. I'm down quite a bit, and I know at home I've had to adjust my cpap range downward. I hadn't adjusted my travel CPAP because I can't do that myself. Up through last month, it wasn't an issue that that was operating at a higher pressure. Last night, though, was using it in my hotel room and it just felt almost overwhelming suddenly, but i just went with it. I however, woke up in the middle of the night with my stomach hurting. I had a lot of air in me, I presume maybe from too much pressure? I stopped using it for the rest of the night and was better by am, but I had to (TMI) get a lot of that air out of my system, one way or another, in order to feel better, and even now, my tummy feels achy. Do you think I could have hurt my stomach with that at 5 months out? Should I be calling the doc? I probably will anyway, jsut to be safe, but I wanted to ask if anyone who had been on cpap ever had this happen. I know the very first night out of surgery that I was not allowed to use my CPAP to protect my stomach from injury, but I would think at this far out... anyway, any experience sharing would be great!

This may be TMI but I had been on my time of the month for almost two weeks!!!! What is going on? Does anyone else have this issue? Again TMI, but I do not go to the restroom unless I take a laxitive. Will it always be like this? -

So I'm down about 47 pounds (stalling now but think its because I have my period). I was sleeved 4-24-12 so I'm almost a month So nsv's. Maybe tmi but I have a much easier time cleaning myself in the bathroom... If you know what I mean. My "hump" in the middle of my back is disappearing. I can easily put on shoes. I can walk without getting out I breath Normally after a family get together I woul only be able to help with the clean up for so long until my back was killing me but today I was able to really help! And I was able to drink and eat some normal food (very small portions) so I didn't feel Left out or look strange... No one here today saw anything strange... Which is good because I'm not ready to tell them. My stomach doesn't touch the steering wheel My shorts that were always too tight are now too loose!

hi all. Ive posted already about being tight, not being able to eat meat and other issues. WEll, i kept a small portion of smoked cod from last nights tea. i thought i would have it for my lunch today and see how i go with Soup tonight as i seem to be tighter of a night. I had about five small mouthfuls of fish. Chewed well, waited. Then the discomfort started up all over again. Ive been getting this nearly every meal now...not quite so bad at bfast time but faint in the background. . The discomfort builds, i feel everything churning around. it comes back into the eosophagus, i start to salivate, get the hiccups,, all that sort of thing. Throughout this i need to swallow a lot. i feel like im swallowing air . its very very painful. i feel quite faint im so unwell. Anyway... (TMI... im sorry. lol.) ive just been through another episode. It kept getting worse and then projectile vomiting of mucus. i just had time to reach the loo. i just hate to think if it happened to me out somewhere. I feel better now. O.k.... so do you think id better go get some of the fill taken out? im worried now that my eosophagus may be inflamed. after all, its a daily ocurrance now. this is the first time i have had to vomit though. Ive decided to ring the dr in the morning. I have to go to the city on the 30th. i will make an appointment to see him then. Meantime its back to liquids i think. I cant got to the city before the 30th... so do you think just liquids from now until then? all input gratefully received. thanks.

My apologies in advance for the TMI. Came home from Hosp Thurs afternoon (surgery Tuesday) Friday I had my first loose BM & it was black. Called doc and was told normal to have some residue blood, should get lighter and if not to call them. Today (Sat) I had a small BM and again severe dark brown / black. Am I being a worry wart? Has anyone else experienced this after surgery? I'm still suffering from Gas pains as well. Gas X strips seem to help. And very hard getting Water, Protein shake in me. Thank goodness for SF popsicles.. Please help me ease my mind? I'm going crazy thinking about this ..

Vsg Has Literally Saved My Life (May Be Tmi)
Spatters3 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have been post-menopausal for 5 years. I had started spotting off and on a few months before my VSG but after surgery I have been having a full-fledged period like, every 2 weeks ! So... I followed my mother's advice (she's always right) and talked to my PCP about it. He didn't like the sounds of my symptoms and ordered an ultrasound. That showed that my uterus is enlarged and the walls were thickened. The PCP sent me to a gynecologist. She did a biopsy and I got the results today - I have endometrial uterine cancer. I now have an appointment with an oncologist and I'm pretty sure I'll be just fine (and lose more weight too ! If my hormones hadn't been stirred up by getting the VSG, I would have been content with putting up with the occasional spotting for a long, long time.... more than likely, too long. So thank you Sleevie ! And thank You God ! -Sheila- 13 replies

Post Op Questions!
Jepegurl replied to BrittanyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just swallowed my pills whole but they were about the size of an m&m. Post op day 2 was my worst pain day but I wasn't farting (TMI sorry) and I was miserable. My pain medicine was making my bowel issue worse do I stopped it. My doc told me to try aleve for a few days instead. I walked some. I'd rest for a few hours but tried to walk for 5-10 minute intervals around the house or down the street as much as I could. I was dizzy. I didn't keep track of my water intake but if I didn't pee every few hours I knew I needed to try to drink more. I understand you being hesitant to drink, not yet knowing your limits. Good luck to you!
