THANKS!! I just pb'd AGAIN!! I did fine with breakfast... my usual omelet. No problem with lunch... went out for Mexican with DD & SIL. I had this kind of a stir fry thing with lots of onion, mushroom, green & yellow peppers, shrimp and some rice & cheese. They gave me corn tortillas, but I just ate a piece of a small one. I ate half of my lunch & brought the rest home for tomorrow. Tonight, DH BBQ salmon & gave me 3 oz w/steamed veggies... broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, squash. I mashed everything up good & even mashed the salmon with some fat free miracle whip & catsup... I know, sounds gross. My DIL got me started on that with fish. Anyway, I only ate a few bites before I got that familiar pain and discomfort. Thought I was going to die. Slimed a bit and some of the stuff came back up. Not much, but just enough to relieve the discomfort!! SORRY>>>>TMI!!! Feel better now, but still feel kind of stuck. Never did get my celebratory wine! Can't drink anything now for a while! There is STUFF in my suitcase now. In fact, my train bag is almost done. Just need a change of clothes. And DH found the other bigger suitcase that he wanted. Ohhhhh, that baby EXPANDS!! Nice!! There's me & Steph on our way to the hotel! Where's DH?? Maybe he's sitting with the driver, rolling his eyes!:biggrin::blushing::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::sneaky::biggrin::biggrin::wink::biggrin::wink:

NewCC, hang in there with us. You can do it, just limit yourself, and sit back an ask yourself if you're satisfied, not full. We only need to be satisfied from the food we eat. If you eating until full, then you could be overdoing in this stage a little, and the fill will help you. Te excercising will help if you are overeating a little, to work off the extra calories. Don't beat yourself up, we all do it, and it's going to take more than 5 weeks to change the thinking we've done for years. We've got plenty of time, there's no hurry, just enjoy the ability to eat a little more now, as you'll not be able to do this after the fill. Good luck to you. Dini babes, you're home!! Sounds like you had a fab time in Italy, and got to treat yourself to a little R&R and some beauty things. Don't feel bad about leaving Annafrancesca for a few days, you do need the time with Adam. My mom is watching Hunter tonight for us, so we can have a night out. It's a holiday here tomorrow, so we're off work, and can have some time together. Hope everyone's having a great weekend. No cookouts here to attend, but I'm kind of glad. Haven't been feeling the best. TMI coming up, but I've had the worst case of constipation the last day and a half. Never had to use anything in that area, ever, but imodium to stop things up so this was all new to me. Wonder if the fill had anything to do with it cause I had to go on liquids for 2 days after, don't know, but it was bad. Had to send my DH out twice for two different things to try. Finally I have relief today, but I hurt so bad I was crying. Hope to never feel this again, so I need to know what others do to prevent this. Do you take something daily? I've always been a regular person, so maybe I just need to take something around fill time? Oh well, any info would be appreciated!!

Salsa - I understand doing a program - then stopping and can get back into the groove - WW was that way with me - we did it at work did great the 1st time then we all lost interest slowly - same thing with Jenny Craig... I know you will win this battle - Us Sisters in Blue (brother in blue like the cops) gotta be a good examples- helps to keep us honesty too,, And I am really glad to know that this is just to jump start your system - imho i think we will suceed in our battle of the buldge if we just learn to eat a well balanced food plan... 2Bskinny - Welcome - this is a great site for info and Lucky #7's is the GREATEST... 62 lbs iin 5 months is GREAT that's 12.4 each month:clap2: ( Had my colonoscopy on the 13th :biggrin1: of July. I know TMI ) I have been lucky so far as i have continuely lost each week - some weeks only 1/2 lb some 1 or 2 - Your body may be adjusting it's self - My doc did say that we will hit platuea (sp). I am afarid that my will be here soon. What are you eating - are you logging your food anywhere (fitday - sparks) or keeping a food diary and counting calories? Are you exercising? How is your restriction?? Are you getting enough protein and drinking your water. #1 reason to drink water is this is one of the ways that we flush the fat we have burn out of our system ( bet ya'll will start drinking your water now:p) This is hard, as, we have lost our best freind "food"- it is our drug of choice and it is very hard giving it up. We have to eat to live - I think it's harder for us than an alcholic - just think about an alcholic does limit their booze they quit all together - - but we have to have food to live - we can't just quit eating all together... We are all are having to deal with emotions that we use to cover up with our food - that emotion could be something as simple as boredom - or as tragic as losing a loved one or being abused. We now have to deal with those feelings and have to find ways to sooth ourselves with out food. We have to add exercise in to our daily lives which is hard since there aren't always enought hours in the days. We have to put ourselves first - which for some is very hard cuz they have always put others needs before theirs... But with the help of the band and the support from our friends (these ladies here are your friend - we all have been fat - we all know the feeling that you have we understand - go back to say page 400 and read forward what we talk about and you will understand what i am saying ) Tell us more about you and what you are doing and what you are struggling with and we will help you... Janet . Phyl - I see the numbers have moved some more :clap2::clap2: It's the water arobic (sp)

Checking in ladies. Sorry for the long post last night. I had so much to share but I didn't need to be quite so wordy. You are wonderful to have read it and responded. I'm in Helena and working with OPI today. I came in this morning and Jean took one look at me and said "why are you here? We are going to take you to Urgent Care" so I spent a lot of time this morning waiting. I was hardly walking. It was pretty bad, I have to admit. But the urgent care PA (who looked like she was 12!) gave me no real answers and told me to follow up with my regular dr as soon as I could. She gave me a shot in my butt and 3 scripts and sent me on my way. I'm starting to think this is all in my head. It's nuts! These docs don't treat me like there is any real problem and I can hardly walk anymore. I can't stand up without assistance, I can't wipe my own butt (sorry TMI!), I can't reach for a coffee cup. And they just tell me to give it time. Anyways...I'm frustrated but not. I'll get through it. Okay...better get back to work.

OMGGGGGGG!!!! I FINALLY got back into the thread. I have been lost trying for 2 days to get in. I missed you all and felt like I was going through withdrawl. I don't post everyday but I do read posts everyday and 2 days with nothing about killed me. LOL AAAAHHHH now I can relax and reply. Lindaa- that is reflux. I have had that every since I was 16-17 years old. When I got my second fill it tightened up the 2nd day and then when I would bend over if I had drank anything within the hour or hour and a half before it would come pouring out of my mouth like pouring tea from a tea pot. LOL Be careful with the reflux though because if it persists you may need some of the fill removed. My doc told me reflux can cause esophagus (sp?) dilation or scar tissue in the esophagus and we could lose our bands because of that. I am sooooo close to onederland!!! 200.4 but I started an flow today (sorry for TMI) I am thinking that I will drop now that the time of month has arrived and will be moving along in a few days. Belive me you will all hear it once I hit onederland!!! This will be the first (and honestly only) place that will know!!! I don't talk about my weight much with anyone else. Many people ask how much I have lost and I just tell them not enough. I have this thing that if I tell them how much I have really lost they will look at me and think "OMG she was huge!!! She still has to lose even after losing that amount!" I know that sounds nuts. I know that I was fat (fatter than now) but I just don't want others to know just how fat I was. Sound crazy?

Karri - Ya broc coming back up - was awful - I must be a little swollen cuz for lunch all I could eat was my fish today - yesteday at fish & veggies (spinach - which is a slider food - Learned that termonigly at that meeting - foods that slide right through the band) - I don't think a day or 2 of not enough protein is going to make you lose your hair - alot of people say its the meds that they use to put us to sleep and the trama of surgery that causes it - but my gf went on medifast and lost tons of hair. I agree with you about being too tight - even now I think I should have passed on a fill period - cuz I really don't think I am getting all my calories in - i think yesterday it was about 760 - but cuz of my fish for lunch & dinner I did get 70 grms of protein and 3 bottles of water plus my coffee about 60 oz of water.. Jackie - OMG $147 on candles - I have done it too - we had a wife of one of our agents selling candles - they can get expensive - but they weren't suppose to burn black smoke and they do - so I quit buying them - I like Village candles - blackberry pie or something like that - I like STRONG smells I hate it when I buy a candle and you can't even smell it burning.. On the TMI subject - I don't get cramps or anything - I eat veggies 99.9% of the time for lunch and dinner - fish & veggies - they are the staple of my diet really wanted to go out for lunch today and splurge - but didn't so tommorrow when I go to Montclair shopping I will have a treat - I better eat those ice chips so the swelling goes down so I can eat... Until you feel better I would rest - rest & chicken soup and you will feel good by Monday... Well, back to work - talk to you all later xoxox J

Bug (Tracey) - I have liquid pain medication -- Loritab. It's hydrocodone and acetemeniphen together. This is Day 4 post-op and I am feeling better and better. I am using less and less pain medication. I have shoulder pain that comes and goes, and the port site is still tender. I think that may take a few more days to resolve. My energy level is increasing as I am focused on eating enough protein. I am still doing mainly liquids, but have had some applesauce and yogurt. Ok, this might be TMI, but I was wondering about others, so I figure others might be wondering, too. I finally had a BM today -- first one since surgery. I needed a little help and used a glycerine suppository. Does anyone know what we are supposed to use for a stool softener. The ones I've used in the past are gel pills. I don't know if/how much weight I've lost, but the shorts I put on today seem a bit looser. I am not expecting a big weight-loss in these first weeks, but a few pounds lost would be great. Tomorrow I go back to work. I'm a bit apprehensive about it, but if I don't make the entire day, so be it. I am ready to get out -- 5 days at home (except for a couple of quick trips to the store) are enough for me. For those of y'all coming up on surgery in the next week or two, let me know if these updates are helpful. If they are, I'll keep doing them every couple of days for a while, and if not, I won't.

SEPTEMBER 2014 POST-OP SLEEVERS CHECKING IN!
LaLoLaughs replied to Rovobay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I posted this new topic but thought it might help some of my fellow Sept Sleevers: Sorry for the TMI, but I thought it would be useful as I have seen this be a popular topic of discussion for the newbies. I am currently 4 weeks out of surgery (SD 9/30/14) and while constipation pain and strains have not been a major issue for me so far, I have found myself not having BM as often as I used to pre-op and it has been bothersome. Anyway, after attending a support group meeting, where my doctor and a veteren speaker were present, the speaker indicated that Fiber Gummies are a staple in her diet, even 2-3 years post-op. I immediately went to Target and bought a generic brand. It has been a week and I can now say that my BMs are now more consistent, more often, no straining AND I see the difference in the scale as well. I take 3 gummies a day and get in about 12 grams of fiber in a day, which is much more than I have on my clear liquid, full liquid and pureed diets. Just thought it might help others struggling with this. -
SEPTEMBER 2014 POST-OP SLEEVERS CHECKING IN!
angel22_99 replied to Rovobay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So today is my one year "surgiversary." I am a tad disappointed as I didn't reach my goal weight of 150, but I'm still down 125 from the morning of my surgery! I am hoping to hit goal by Christmas. I am overall ecstatic with my results so far, but I have a couple unexpected complaints that I'm wondering if anyone else has: I can't carry anything heavy on my shoulders like a heavy purse or bag because I have absolutely no fat padding on my shoulders anymore. If you were to look at me from the waist up (not including the arms/breasts because of the excess skin), I look like I'm anorexic, but if you see my hips and thighs, I still look over weight. Gravity has not been kind to me during this process, LOL And; this may be TMI, so don't read this paragraph if you are squeamish, but when I sit, I feel like I am sitting on something, like rolled up towels. It took me forever to figure out why I get this feeling because I keep checking and I'm never sitting on anything. It's the excess skin on my butt! LOL Also, and this is really TMI, but it's actually harder to clean my bottom because of it. I do want to eventually get a lower body lift, but I want to see if I can hit my goal and maintain it a while first. Overall, I am overjoyed with the results I have attained and am so glad that I got the surgery done! -
Why do women have anal sex?
DivaStyleCoach replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My hubby had some magazines that he shared with me that talked about it, and he asked me if I would be willing to try it. We were in an adventurous mood, and gave it a shot. It took several "sessions" for both of us to get comfortable, mostly because he was letting me set the pace. *****TMI Alert***** Start with asking her if she would let you explore the area with a finger - go easy, slow and let HER set the pace. Don't just launch into it, go into the session thinking about making her as hot and therefore relaxed as possible. Once she's comfortable with your little finger, for instance, go to a slightly larger finger and work up to your thumb. There are also "toys" made especially for that area...check xandria.com for ideas. If she's comfortable with that, then it's a matter of time and patience. Don't rush it - and definately don't push it, if you know what I mean. It's as much a mental transition as a physical one...good luck! -

lauragshsu replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm one of those weird likers, but it is only a very occasional thing. It has to be in the doggy-style position, and I have my vibrator in the other hole. I'm one of those who likes to feel double stuffed (sorry for TMI). -

ok so i know this couple who strictly do it anally.. she is about the double penetration... likes somethin in the butt and in her triangle.. hehe. they talk about it all the time and are soo crazy about it.. as for me.. i have dipped in that pool a few times wit different guys and all i can say is the only time i liked it was wen i was drunk... and besides i would rather have my man and his toungue doing "other" things with his time.. as of the size thing.... u can never tell how big a guys junk is by looki8ng at the person. i have been wit a skinny white boy that surprised the hell out of me.. and then i was with this black guy who was .. but to me size really doesnt matter its the motion of the ocean. some guys are big for nothing and those average men put them to shame... n e ways hope that wasnt tmi for everyone.. i really held back a lot of details tryin to keep it from going to far... hehe.. by the way this is the most entertaining thread i have ran across yet!! -
Hi Everyone... I'm back and banded and although I'm having a bit of gas pain, that's about it. I haven't had much pain from the incision or the port. My surgery experience was really really good. The woman who woke me up from anaesthesia exclaimed "My name is Jackie and I lost 145 pounds from a weight loss surgery. Hi". Isn't that cool? Like I said, it's been pretty easy for me so far. I haven't had a lot of pain...I'm one of the lucky ones, I know. I worked out a lot before surgery, had the two weeks of full liquids and one day of clear liquids. BTW, I took my ipod with me to surgery and it really calmed me down before and after. I filled it with soothing sounds and it really helped me out. I felt much better in the recliner in the room as opposed to the bed and think that helped a lot with gas pain. It was also a lot easier to get up and moving from a chair than from a bed. I have this bit of advice to those getting banded soon. I've read in many places on this forum about having an enema or something like it the day before surgery. I had heard that it really lessened the likelihood of gas pains. My doctor recommended I drink a bottle of Magnesium Citrate (aka, "The Bomb") around noontime the day before. I did so and I really emptied out. In fact, by the time I weighed in for surgery, I had lost 20 pounds!!!! At any rate, my gas pain, although kind of uncomfortable is not all that bad. So, in my opinion, even if the doctor doesn't order it, I say...it couldn't hurt. I prefer the Magnesium Citrate route. But you have to be close to home. It takes about four hours to clean you out. Ok, tmi, I know. One more thing about gas pain. Whenever I get a shooting pain, I jump up and walk around the room. It really helps. Another thing...cold liquids and ice chips make it worse. It's much better to go for the warm or tepid liquids. At the risk of giving Too much advice....I've got another suggestion for those of you who have to do clear liquids before and after surgery. To avoid feeling just miseably starved, go to GNC and get a few bottles of Isopure clear. It's not really clear, it's a drink in these lurid colors and flavors that has 40 grams of protein p/bottle. So if you sip it all day, you manage to stay pretty full. It's good post-surgery too, when you don't feel much like eating. :nervous For those of you who were chatting about the c-pap machine, I have the kind with just nasal pillows and find it easy to wear. I got used to it really quickly and it is completely silent. The first night I wore it, the room was so silent, my husband had to reach over to make sure I was still alive. lol. Libra...I received meds for nausea when I left the hospital. You clearly need them. Vomiting is the worst....I hope you feel better soon. Caroline...Are you the one that's losing 1.5 lbs every two days?!? Good going! That's awesome. My doc wouldn't let me get back to weight training for a month. I'm jealous that you get to do it sooner. BTW, I gained 5 pounds today. Waaannnnhhh. I'm sure that it's just swelling, edema, gas etc from surgery. Right? Bug...my doctor recommended Colace. I prefer Benefiber because it's so gentle. I just put a tsp in my morning drink. It's not detectable at all. But you may need "the bomb" of magnesium citrate if you're really clogged up. Well, I'm tired but happy that it's over and now the real work starts. :clap2:

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Oregondaisy replied to TerriDoodle's topic in The Lounge
I am not exactly sure where to post this. I know a lot of vets come here rather than newbies. I have been puking in my sleep. I don't know why. I am not tight. I never pb or slime. Nothing feels stuck. Then when I am sound asleep, something is coming up. Last night it was 4 different times. Called the doc this am and all they did was give me Nexium. I don't see how that is going to help as I already take Previcid every morning. I am going to put something next to the bed so instead of running to the bathroom ( sorry TMI) I can put it in a bowl or whatever to see if it's water or what it is. I have to take Ambien, to sleep, so I really can't take it earlier. Last night I stayed up half an hour after I took it, and slept reclining with pillows for awhile too. I noticed while running to the bathroom at one point, it was 4 am. -

A few yrs. ago my kids and I went out with a friend to our fav. Chinese restaurant . He was laughing and teasing about it being cat. About 2 months later they got busted for serving CAT! I called him and told him that and he said lets go get more.:tongue2: We still laugh about it. I was stuck just a little while ago. I didn't chew well enough. I knew it as soon as it started to slip down my throat. I was trying to stop it. I almost sounded like my cats when they get a fur ball Sorry TMI. Kinda kept going on the cat theme. -

Constipation sucks. I think I need to add prunes to my daily diet. TMI? -
Froggi, I will glady ship you the frogs in my pool! And, nope, they are all still green. They are fast little buggers too! Now it is thundering and I can't go in the darn pool. Sometimes these Florida summer storms get on my nerves. I hope this one passes fast. I love broccoli with cheese too, but, sigh, it makes for a very gassy day. TMI???

It's Friday - yahoo! So many posts since last I checked in.... Plain, an interesting pic; as for your inability to find the button, and your wife's need for good vibrations....TMI? Mac, I hope all is well; babygirl, the lineup for Plain's dope is long; vibrating mascara?? I poke myself in the eye enough, who wants to risk a rototiller effect on the eyeball? Coffee...I need more!

Mine fell out a light blonde, and straight, and come back in darker blonde/ light brown, and parts are kinky curly, others not so much. ***Warning!!!! TMI ZONE Warning!!!!!*** But that was the only thing that really grew back in. I no longer have to shave my legs or under my arms but maybe once a season, and that is only just incase there is a straggler. And as for the "rug", alas she is gone too. Thankfully, DH is not one that finds that a bad thing--it is not a personal choice, it simply is how it is now. I did regrow eye brows and lashes again. However, my ENT said there is not normal hair growth in my nose anymore. And the hair on my arms is almost non existant.... Wierd, makes me wonder what other parts of my body this all messed up!!!! Sorry.....but greens comment hit home!!! Kat

@Shadow427--I'm so excited for you to rent a bike!! Whoohoo!! I agree, What a difference a year makes! @Luna222--How frustrating!! I think a call to your surgeon's office would be in order. Just to see if they have any insight as to why you might be stalled. Do you keep a food journal? Maybe they can take a look at it and offer some suggestions. I've been stuck at 177/178 for going on 3 weeks now I think. Pretty sure if I could "go to the bathroom"....(Sorry, TMI) I might lose a few!! @Bronxmerci--So glad you're doing so well! Great job on your loss! And I am quite impressed you're not falling for your son's dad's smooth attempts at getting you back! You're a strong woman!!
-
@dc0520--Nah, not TMI for me. That sounds horrible!!! Ouch! That's great no implants would be necessary. Ummm, Yeah, I'm 42. I don't need youthfull fullness, I'd just like them out of my arm pits when I lay down, haha!! I haven't had rashes since my surgery, but I might start trying the trick someone mentioned on here, just to get some stuff documented. Or if I check into just a lift and it's a reasonable cost, just pay for it out of pocket. We'll see I guess! Yeah, I'm supposed to get more like 60-80g of Protein, but I have a really hard time eating more than I am right now! It's odd having that issue now, LOL! My PA said I could supplement with Protein shakes, but they fill me up SO much that I don't want any meals after that. Hard to find that balance!

PrtyAntOvrYt replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hey! That just might work! I am already having trouble with the french cut undies! (is that TMI?) I can't imagine wearing that outfit -- and not getting some results! They might pay for our plastics, just so that we never visit their office dressed that way again!
