  1. Hi, I saw that you are from Crawfordsville. I am from Merrillville area.

Has it been hard to keep your weight off? I am having a hard time commiting. Surgery date 10 days away.

  2. thats just around the corner. June the 23nd. how exciting.

has your daughter had her baby?

me enjoy summer, no way! the sun and I just don't get along.

we did go to Pine Crest this week-end. it was freezing, I thought I was going to freeze to death. we went hiking up to the damn. last year I completed to whole hike weighing in at close to 300, I will do it again this summer.

you can find pictures under general questions? I just was just on that site, they are all an inspiration to me.

I logged my before and after on albums, but my pictures are blocked to the public and I don't know how to unblock them

I have been struggling with my last fill, have problems with food and sliming (ugh)I have to work on my chewing. the weight loss has slowed down, I trying to get my lazy butt back to walking, I really lagging, I know excercise is the key to losing weight, I just been going to so mcuh these last couple of months.

my goal is to be at 199 by Dec. 26. my 1 year anniversary. got about 38 lbs to go.

I lost my mother 5/21. and just recently been back on-line.

my faith in Jesus has kept me going.

keep me posted on your progress, have you started your Prue-op diet, try your hardest to stick to it. try to walk everyday, even if for only 5/10 mins. practice your chewing now, make it a habit.

    talk to you soon

    Sandy

  3. There was no prior indication that there was anything amiss. I lost the required wieght, etc. When they got in there, they said there was some difficulty with the way my fat was carried. Essentially that it was too thick in one area and prevented the Surgeon from sewing the band on effectively. ( She said the tool was actually bending.) She pulled out, decided to have me lose more weight. I was 330 at the time (give or take a few pounds since there was a period of time between my pre-op wiegh-in and the surgery.) Now they think 300 would be a better weight, but once I get there she will reevaluate and decide if I should lose more.

To tell you the truth, I'm a bit nervous this time and I think it's affecting my weightloss. I fear going in again and not getting it done one more time. This first time took me a while to accept that anger. I think if there is a no-band surgery again, that anger will come in a huge flood.

I dunno. I have my next weigh in on the 9th. I'm kinnd of stuck in the 315 range. I'm not sure if I will make my 300 pounds this month. But I also know that I can do this liquid diet thing forever. (I'm no longer sticking to it 100%. Just mostly.)

  4. When I got on the scale this morning it said I was up 3 pounds. I was apprehensive about what the surgeon was going to say about the gain at my fill appt. When I got there and got on their scale it said I had LOST 2 pounds! I know I've gained but I'm happy that by their scale I lost. Does that make sense? It sure lifted my spirits and now that I've got a fill I'm hoping to start heading in the downward direction again.

  5. ‎...203 ...4 lbs away from 199. That is just crazy. At 203 I have lost 186 since I started this journey back in July 2010. If you look at my highest which just a few years ago was 425 then I have lost 222 lbs. That means that right now from my heaviest, I have lost more weight than I currently weigh. How crazy is that?

  6. PO Day #34. Lost just under 1 lb this week (32.6 from high point), but my appetite is getting more difficult to control. Still eating less than before, and although I say I want a slow and steady loss, it is disappointing not to see those large weight drops. Have returned to regular cooking, not having any trouble getting anything down. Keep concentrate on long view, practice mindful eating, and pat myself on my back for success! You go Girl!

  7. Currently researching a possible link between body composition and weight loss. I have mostly all belly fat. It seems we tend to lose slow and have insulin problems. Hmmmm

  8. Had my 2nd fill and the PA made me feel worse that I do. In the course of a few days I've went from 275 to 280 today. My lady fill weigh in I was 281. So to them I've lost one pound. When I told the broad what I ate and how much i am working out she looked at me like I was lying. She said there is no way one cheat day would cause so much weight gain and even still I should weigh less. Next time I have to bring print outs of what I eat on MFP. So angry!!!! According to ...

  9. I lost 1 pound this last month. I have had one stuck episode so I was afraid to get another fill. The PA wanted to give me a .2 cc fill because I haven't lost weight, but I was afraid of the stuck episodes so I got .1 cc.

  10. The war has restarted. It's me Vs. my body. I'm back to hating it again and frankly I've never been this cranky ever in my life. I've never been this crazy either. I'm almost certifiable cray-cray. Lock me up. can the band cause insanity? I think so. I cant stop with the scale. i had a cheat day and gained 3 friggin pounds. This WAR. The truce is over. It aint gonna be pretty!

  11. Hello everyone! I joined this site March 2010 and never really did much on it. To be honest, it was almost depressing because I wasn't losing weight as fast as most and i got discouraged. I realize tht everybody is different but still, I became depressed. I had my surgery Feb 26, 2010 and now I've lost 80 lbs. It's slow but steady. I exercise and have completely changed my life. I'm going to run a 5K the end of the month and have been in training. The reason for my post is...

  12. Hi there...thanks for your message. So you have PCOS too, I saw several ppl on here who did. Glad to hear you're losing weight. How long have you been banded? I was happy to lose 10lbs w/ the pre-op diet they have me on. That was great for me since w/ PCOS I have been doing nothing but gaining. Thanks for the support, glad there are ppl here to talk to about these things!

  14. oh no!!! I hope everything is ok! Congrats on the weight loss! I haven't lost any weight in the last 3 weeks, although I haven't gone to the gym once, and am always REALLY hungry, i've been so busy though i haven't really had any time to let it bother me yet, and at least i haven't gained any weight. I hope everything is going good!

  15. sorry i dont check my computer that often. yes i am a nurse at the hospital and work in icu full time. i am stuck at 39 lbs and need to go to dm to have another fill. i am at 5.5 cc now. i still believe i am not tight enough and should have ad another fill a few months ago but its hard to find the time to get one. i too was not big enough to have the surgery but i paid cash. i am not sorry i had the procedure at all but am somewhat disappointed at results. i thought my wt loss would be more by now but on the upside of thsi i have not gained 1 pound since having the procedure onl;y lost so that part feels good. let me know where you are at with your journey and when your surgery is. like i said i dont check reg but i will reply when i can- shelley

  16. currently i weight 395lbs im 5'10.

  17. yea..I was banded on the 6th of August..I'm excited about this being my seventh day! but, i had a question...how much weight did you loose if you don't mind me askin...I ask this b/c I made a few minor mistakes during this full and clear liquid stage b/c I experienced little to no restriction while doing this..I ate some small but bad thiings...as long as I walk a lot and I aim for 800 to 900 calories a day..do you think loosing the weight before my first adjustment drastically is possible...?

  18. Hey Tina!

I really know what you mean about it being teh vest thing that you have done....i really know that getting the band is 100% for me. And im glad that i have taken the step to finally deal with my weight head on. I know i will be succesfull! I am really looking forward to having time off...the last time a had a break/holiday was far to long ago! lol How much have you lost so far? xx

  19. Hi Isabel-

Thanks for the post...I feel the same way. I have only been overweight about the last 10 years...and I know first hand how overweight people are treated differently.I will be banded at the end of this month, and I would really appreciate some of the info you have learned along the way (like the GOOD liquid vitamins, the best protein powder, what I definitely need to have on hand after the surgery.) I have about 85lbs to lose, and have been a little worried about all of the loose skin issues and additional surgeries some people need after losing that amount of weight...did you have any of those issues?

Thanks so much for the info, and best of wishes-

    Targa

  20. Hey, first, I just want to say that you look absolutely terrific! If you don't mind me asking, how much weight did you lose on average in a week or month? I just had my band on 6/28/08, and I've only lost 17 pounds. I feel like sometimes I can eat more than I should be able to, and other times I feel like I can't eat anything without hurting, but I feel like I should have lost more than I have. Should I, or am I doing ok? Is it time for another fill?

  21. hello

Thank you for all your help I need. O one thing...did you get like sad the first few days? I cried allot today I don't know why. I felt so blue. It's past now but I just felt so sad. I had Home Car Visiting Nurse out to check on me today that was great my blood pressure was so prefect and it hasn't been in years lol. Now how are you doing? How much weight have you lost now? How is your health?

    Lisa

  23. Hi Isabell..I too am in need of losing about 70-80 lbs...I'm 58 years old, have diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I've been fighting this weight problem for most of my life and also have tried many diets. I'm planning on attending my seminar in Macallen Tx. in Sept. , as we're on our way there to our winter home. Dr. Reyes is head of the clinic. I attended a seminar in Nashville,Tn. but was told to have the procedure in Tx. where we spend most of each year. Do you know anything about this Doctor or can you recommend another? We'll be staying in that area. Thank you...and you look fabulous!! Serenity Seeker

  24. My lapband surgery was done in April of 2007. initially I lost 20 lbs, but after5 fills and 16 months, I am back to my pre surgery weight and feel so defeated. My dr. wants to do a fleuroscopic fill to make sure he has not missed the port this time. Has this happened to others?
