So I'm 2 1/2 weeks out (6/11) and my husband asked if we can have sex yet. I'm from the old school and believe in keeping my man satisfied. So we tried it missionary and I was fine but he was being too gentle and kept asking are you OK? Does it hurt? I was like that's the problem it doesn't hurt come on already I'm fine. And just when it was getting good my four year old wakes up and walks in my room! She stared for a min then runs out screaming and crying "daddy's hurting mommy he's gonna kill her surgery " needless to say we didn't finish! I'm happy to know I'm getting better tho a few days ago I couldn't fathom the thought of laying flat let alone having sex. Sorry if this was tmi but I had to share with someone and who better than my rny family

Yeah Christie. Way to keep the party jumping Melody: had a crazy day. Yesterday sucked on a piece candy just to get nasty taste of mouth. I was on liquids. Well just as soon as I did that had to run to toilet and no not puke--the other end sorry TMI. Well today I got up to make some chilli for a luncheon later that day. I got so queasy and a little dizzy. I thought maybe since I have not been getting in a lot of calories, maybe I was just weak plus I had not eaten or drunk a shake? So I went and got a Dannon Greek yogurt. I ate it and a few more minutes later back in the bathroom followed by being cold and weak. Tried to eat a devil egg later--back to the bathroom. Finally tried the chili I had with ground chicken. Just about 1/3 of a cup. Finally it stayed in me! Was this dumping? The shakes I had been drinking had no sugar. -

Mine had been 8 days- used ducolax suppository' date=' worked like a charm! Perhaps TMI but when you fell nauseated all the time like I did still, it was truly the best option! -
Hey Leona that is AWESOME! We are the same size now! Too bad we didn't live closer together lol we could borrow each others clothes maybe. I totally TOTALLY agree, the key to this weight loss stuff is exercise, your body changes the fastest even when the pounds aren't coming off. Today I bought thong underwear lol, I feel so sexy lol. Sorry if thats tmi lol. But for me it was a great nsv.

July 2013 - Post Op Thread

Hi Everyone. I am new here. I had my RNY (revised from lap band) on the 22nd. I have lost 6lbs this week and a total of 21 from my pre-op diet. So far I feel like im healing ok. No major pain, no major nausea or issues, however I am not able to get in my liquids and protein. I bought powder and a few pre-made drinks and the sweet taste kills me. I refuse to drink it and water has been hard. yesterday finally I had peppermint tea and I was able to drink that fine and skim milk. Today I experimented and liquified some canned tuna with chicken broth just to get protein and it was just fine. no issues. so thought I am only able to have an oz or 2 at a time, I am working with that and the milk and the tea. Im have weird gas and need to have a BM (sorry tmi) but no luck yet. Im glad I found this page! Everyone seems to be doing fantastic! -
Anyone having surgery in May
MissCindy replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5 days post op. Feeling pretty good. I have been getting up and walking since the afternoon of the surgery. Surgery was at 10:20 am on Monday and I was released at 8:00 am on Tuesday. Things at home have been pretty calm. I am not hungry but I am working at getting enough Protein and Water each day. Not quite to the preferred amount of either yet, but getting close on both. BM's started happening yesterday and are happening daily for now. I was taking the milk of magnesia each day but today I switched to benefiber. I think that will work as well and not taste as bad. I know tmi but we all go through it. I have had only been nauseous one time and I woke up that way in the morning. I got really sick to my stomach and threw up a bunch of foam. After that I have been fine. I used my inspirometer religiously for the first three days home and I think that really helped with the breathing and getting over having the breathing tube down my throat during surgery. The one problem I have had is that all of my things I drink, except for water and non-fat milk, are sweet. I have been craving something non-sweet. I tried squash Soup which was ok, but I tried my flavorless Protein Powder in it and it clumped, even after I blended it it was still clumpy, so that was an epic fail. I tried chicken broth, from the store, nasty. I was so disappointed. So this afternoon I sent my husband to the store with a list of ingredients so I could make my own chicken broth......heaven, finally. I put my fiber in it and it was perfect. I hope all the rest of my May buddies are doing well, or feel well soon. It feels good to be on the loser's bench. -

WARNING, THIS IS TMI!! Had my first bowel movement since surgery. I had my prior one the morning of surgery. It was a very painful experience!!! My colon was contracting on its own, working to try and push things out. It literally took 2 hours to finally come out. Once it did it was hard and the thickest most compacted turd i had ever seen in my life but what a relief. I'm sure that had to be 3 pounds. -

Good Morning all! Wow, you all have been pretty busy on here since I was last on...I have some major catching up to do! Well, Friday turned out to be a weird day! Late in the afternoon, we were informed that they were letting another 3 people go, and one of them happened to be my mentor when I started there, then my supervisor, then helped me get hired back on after I left for a while. I leared a lot from her, she was a bit anal, some found her hard to deal with, but she really knew her stuff! I'll miss her...I'll have to take her to lunch next week! Then, I was "outed" at work, lol! I wonder if this is what people of different sexual preference feel like, not like you're really ashamed, but you just don't go around telling everyone. I had already told the people in my workgroup, and assumed that they blabbed, but no one else had every come up to me and talked about it. Well, I got caught in the bathroom and one of the girls from another group came up and said, "So, what you doing to get so skinny?" I said "Am I getting skinny?" She said, "Girl, yes, I just looking and looking, and was like, either you was getting smaller or my eyes were getting bigger!" So I told her I had lapband, and re-inforced that it's not like you get it and just melt away, I still have to count calories and exercise as with any diet. And she said "Really, I though with that you got it and didn't have to do anything, like it was just easy to do!". So, I told her no, it's hard and it's an adjustment. So, I'm officially "out of the closet" so to speak, because I KNOW she is a gossiper! I actually feel better now, maybe because somebody is actually noticing a difference! Talk about someone noticed, my husband was feeling my rear end, lol, and said, "it's getting smaller!" I died, then said, "well is it too small now?" He winked and said, oh no, it's still nice & round. :-) Well, Saturday was an good day. We went to a movie, dinner, and to a high school jazz festival...it was totally awesome! We went last year and I noticed that the seat was actaully comfortable this time around, didn't feel like I had imprints on my hips from the seat! I only got to log 1lb loss this week, but (TMI alert) I haven't had a BM since like Monday! Hopefully my plumbing will get to working, lol! Well, let me get to reading all the updates and see if my brain is working today! Have a great day...Indiana is sunshiny and expected to get in the low 50s, so it should be nice out. Going to take my boy to see Alice In Wonderland! -

Denise: Ouch on the 'graft' spot and take it easy on salty stuff. Then again, didn't they used to rub salt into the sailors backs after whipping them raw (as a way of healing?)? I know...TMI and no help <bg> Dottie: LOL on the babies in diapers analogy but I'm one of those who'd rather wait until one was out before dealing with another <g> Well I went to my first (and last) Tae Kwan Do class tonight. It's just a little more confrontational than I want. I think I need to find a Tai Chi class. ;-p -

LOL…The drain tube was not the freaky part…..it was the clot that took an Iron stomach to yank out!! It was almost as long as the drain tube and at first didn't want to budge. Sorry if that is TMI but someone may read this and need to know!! Thanks for the tip on the binder, after I read your post I tightened it up a little… -
Anyone having surgery in May
angelface811 replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am Day 8 post-op and things get a little better every day. I am so thankful to have family helping me. I can now lay on my right side at bedtime but not on my left just yet. My diet consists of water, powerade zero, herbal tea, premier protein with a splash of milk and sugar free torani syrups, crystal light, homemade chicken broth, sf Popsicles and no sugar added stage 1 applesauce. I found the lemonade crystal light to be to acidic for the moment but rasberry ice is pretty good. I also found some sf jello to be to acidic. So I am holding up on those for now. I am on prevacid once a day. My upper stomach is still a bit bloated but when my husband took my binder off last night to inspect my incisions he was like Whoa! Your stomach is way flatter! You have to come look in the mirror honey. It was! That felt good. Doing pretty good on the vitamins and reaching about 60 oz a day. Still only about 50 grams of protein. It is very filling. Liquid stool softener yucky! But I'm doing it. Scared of having my first BM (tmi) it's been about 9 days. So this is my experience thus far can't wait to here more from y'all. -
I am on the 6th day of my post-op liquid diet...6 more to go. Not sure i can make it. At this point the shakes are making me nauseous. My stomach is constantly churning and I'm in the bathroom every 15 minutes (tmi I know) . Any tips to get through this would be appreciated.

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
STLoser replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Now, I must say, I'm still 250 pounds, so I have at least 60 or 70 pounds to go to get to goal and actually more than that to not be considered overweight for my height, but I was almost 400 pounds, so this a huge difference and I'm feeling amazing. My wedding dress is a size 24. I got married in 2006, and I have not been able to fit into it since 2010. It is now too big! I had to get something notarized the other day and when I got out my driver's license I noticed my weight said 350 and realized I am 100 pounds less than that weight now, which was a lie anyway. Lol That is an amazing feeling. I have never, ever weighed less than what my drivers license said. Even back when I weighed around 150 I never thought I was thin enough and always lied. When I renew it, I will tell the truth, because I accept myself now at any weight. It's been a long journey to get to that point. I got a new dress the other day and thought it needed a belt and the only one I had was from my highest weight and I can wrap it around me twice. It's crazy! This might be dumb, and maybe tmi for some, but my belly was so big before I couldn't use a squatty potty, and now I can. I just bought one and it really helps with my constipation. Lol Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile app -
What I know so far...I am about 8 weeks post op what I know today is that it seems like I can eat less than I could a couple of weeks ago and I am not complaining...sugar is not good with me, which is also good, I feel sick and lightheaded...getting all my recommended protein is manageable as long as I drink a protein shake in the morning...coffee has been my friend for constipation(TMI I know) but I only drink a cup a day and its the half decaf...I am a revised sleeve so I know my weight loss will be slower than virgin sleevers is what my surgeon told me so I have stayed off the scale, did get on the scale a couple of days ago and I had a five pound weight loss (I only know because I saw my doctor last week...I go by my clothes and am so pleased that I am fitting back into all my old clothes that had become too tight, even had a belt with my size 14 capris!! I am satisfied with the sleeve I wish I had it four years ago instead of the band. I don't let two days in row pass without going to the gym or to the park to walk...my goal jogging for a mile...lastly one more bite of something can make a huge difference, I learned the hard way and had to vomit, was very disappointed in myself because I dealt with the vomiting so much with the band...I am learning my new stomach I now know to stop even before the full feeling...best wishes and keep going to all sleevers!!

Hi Everyone - Happy Heart Day! I made heuvos for everyone for brunch - torrillas, bacon flavored black beans, avocado, scrambled eggs with onions and peppers, salsa, lite sour cream, cheese. They looked good - I had egg salad! Also made heart shaped brownies and blondies for my son and husband. So Tamra - what is this thing with cooking???? One of my sisters is visiting from New Mexico and we met my other sister that lives here up North outside of Guernville at the redwood forest - Armstrong Wood State Park. We walked for almost an hour - it was beautiful - moss growing on everything and the creek was really running fast. CoCo - yes isn't being able to get in your own bed great? My port is doing a little better now that I am close to 3 weeks. I don't need to sleep with a pillow to lean on - I can even sleep on my side - and Candra you will approve - can have s_x being on the bottom comfortably! I know TMI! Mo and Jes - yum on your V-Day dinners! I wish.... Pammie - awesome work girl! it must feel good. Tamra - hang in. I know it is hard. Go back to making pork roasts with BBQ if you like that and puree that up with a little veggie so you get some fiber. I added 2 tbsp of brocolli to my chicken last night and to the salmon I had tonight (mixed with lite alfredo sauce - very yummy!) Lee and John - how are you doin'? Heather - keep walking a little and stretching to help the soreness. You go girl! So proud of you. Riley - miss you! Reggie - where are you also? everything ok? Tina, Donna, Maria, Ashley- hope you are well and had a good day. -

go Mo !!! Nice to see you in One-derland - and may I say that I notice the difference!! And - you can take my plate today! Nothing is agreeing with me - I've also got a sore throat - thanks to my brother - he's sick and passing it on... UGH! Pat - I know how hard it is to take a stand and how scary it must be being the provider of your house but this is the time for you to shine and take care of you! I'm gonna get you T-shirts, Bumper stickers and whatever else has "IT'S ALL ABOUT ME" on it! Oh, Riley Jane - where for art thou? Hope all is well with you - I love this band thing and I have to say - you were 100% correct about all of it :scared2: TamTam - You and ta-toes are like me & chocolate. I haven't had any in a couple days now. Maybe my scale will move - I was up at 3:40 last night and layed here tossing & turning for what seemed like hours and all I wanted was - get this - chocolate frosting - WTF?? but i don't have any so it was all good. Yeah - John finally has some TMI to share with us LOL. Atta way to keep it real. Tina - it was a piece of steak - Doc Who told me to try NOT to chew to mush so that it doesn't just slide thru the band - I'm working on a happy medium hahaha I don't think soup is totally out of the question for the rest of your life - I chose the band so that I could live a relatively normal life and so if I want some soup next winter - after I'm at my goal weight - i will have a little once in a while. Just gotta be careful with the slider and watch the calorie content. Coco - what's the word tooter?? -
ok probably TMI but I just posted 2 pictures in my profile album.
-
Maria - tooting won't hurt anything - but it will help you feel better as far as the gas goes - try laying on your left side (put a pillow under your tummy as your port is on that side) it should help you toot. Sorry if tmi. I barely got the ping pong table into the garage before the rain hit - it was sprinkling already - could be because I went back to sleep after I dropped my boys at school at 7:30 and didn't get dressed until 11 - but hey it's my day off. I had 1/3 c baked beans for breakfast, 6 cold shrimp for lunch and about 1/2 c fresh sweet potato. The Point West Kaiser is across the street from Cal Expo - I don't know the exact address.

Evening everyone, I have a question! When should ur bowels start working post op? Sorry if it's TMI

After seeing that 1 pecan pie was almost 6000kj yesterday, I bypassed the cafe and went to Woolies and bought some plums. I used to have 2 HUGE plum trees in my backyard when I was growing up and every year the trees would break their branches with the amount of fruit on them. We had 1 type that was great for eating and another type that was sour that we stewed. We had plums all year round. So I bought 6 mid sized dapple dandy plums and over the course of the day, ate all 6. My tummy was so noisy last night I'm sure the neighbours could hear it. I can tell you that I had the best, natural detox last night (tmi?) and literally lost 1kg between yesterday and today. Long story short... It took me 3 weeks to have a bm post op, so if anybody is struggling, rather than drinking GROSE prune juice, eat the plums. If you're on purée or mushie stages, stew them first in some Water until they are super soft. It works. Promise. So glad I walked past the cakes.

Hair loss hasn't been noticeable after the haircut so win! I'm usually around 700 calories but I do beach body programs as well. I was ordered to hit around 65-70 grams of protein and 1000-1200 cals a day. We will see what happens. My workout regime is prob the reason for increase but I'll adapt to keep it up ❤️ I wanted to wait on the lift/reduction as well...my bariatric dr would like me to wait but considering my massive breakdown of skin from working out its going to get done early. Under my right breast I've had staph infections twice and bleeding from the sweating and hanging of skin. Tmi I know but I think everyone should look out for these issues. And to answer your question no. I am not getting any kind of implant. They are using my own tissue and molding it to create upper pole fullness. Implants are usually suggested if you want youthful fullness and be able to go bra free. A lift is sufficient as long as you are good relying on a push up bra ???? I didn't want foreign objects either.

@@Beni So sorry to hear you had so much trouble while on vacation. I've had this happen to me three times. My surgery was 10/22/14. About six weeks ago I tired salmon (previously I loved Salmon). For the rest of the evening, I spit up and could not keep anything down. That was the milder of the episodes I've had. About three weeks ago, I ate some turkey that must have been too dry. I spent the rest of the day spitting up Water that I had tried to sip on three hours after eating the turkey. I also had dry heaves. I know TMI. Just miserable. I could not take my meds etc. The next morning, I felt better. Two days ago, I made a really nice beef roast. I chewed and chewed and then spent the rest of the day really miserable and spitting up/heaving/vomiting every 1/2 an hour for the rest of the day. I guess my pouch is not ready for such food. It is disappointing. I hope you feel better.
