Sex After Weight Loss
keldolbeth replied to SophieJaneB's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is funny because I was about to post a thread about sex today too! I'm a month post-op and have had sex twice since surgery. (I only waited 10 days, doc said I could do it when I felt ready.) The "friend" I was with last night was kind of an experiment of sorts because I had not had sex with him in several months, back when I was at my highest weight. I wanted to "test it out" and see if I noticed a difference with 85 pounds gone. Little did I know he had lost a bunch of weight too. (He's not a big guy, just lost most of his beer gut. lol) So, of course, he lost inches in his waist and gained it you-know-where. I felt much smaller or shallower down there now. It has never hurt with him before and last night I let out a few yelps of pain. Afterwards I told him I was mad at him because he "punched my cervix." lol We had a good laugh! But that was the ONLY negative! Everything else was great! It was so nice to wrap my legs around his waist or hold my own legs up more easily! Oh, I love the TMI threads on this site! -
So I'm 50. Ya the big 50! wooohooo... but that's not why I'm here today. Let's talk about menopause! In a nut shell it sucks even without all the major side effects I hear about. I've been pretty lucky in that regard. I thought I was over having my TOM because I haven't had one since May. Well it's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack So why am I posting about this here? Well, it effects my weight. I usually gain 2 to 3 lbs each month and then start the cycle of working off the weight again. It just didn't disappear after my TOM went away each month. Those 2 to 3 lbs would hold on and make me work them off. So each month I would work like a dog to get off 5 lbs only to gain back 2 to 3 every 4 weeks. Felt like the never ending race. So I was a tad bit excited when I skipped a month. Being banded hasn't prevented the 2 to 3 gain each month either but I'm not losing sight of my long term goal here. I will win this race! On a more positive note... A "unknowing" friend of mine mentioned my weight loss yesterday! Finally! Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. It's amazing how receiving a compliment makes you feel. It was nice. So today my goals are: 1. Control my cravings! Chocolate cookies are on the top of the list. 2. Be patient and persistent with myself. 3. Give as many compliments as I can to anyone and everyone I can. Share the joy. just sayin, j~

I Kno This Might Be Sick But
traceyinflorida replied to mbasile's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
During the liquid phase, other than the bit of diarhea I had in the hospital (very little and yes, tmi) I did not have another BM for several days and that was mostly liquid. I am seven weeks out and on regular food now and still only go either every other day or every third day. I read in my post surgery guide that this is not uncommon. -
OK not sure how to ask this but here it goes...... Im right at 8 weeks post op and low and behold me bowel movement has turned colors ... it has turned Green!!! and I know for a fact its not from eating more greens as I dont eat them yet. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance!

I Kno This Might Be Sick But
former_vbg replied to mbasile's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wasn't allowed to leave the hospital until I had some "sort" of BM. It was not solid but it was something. Probably TMI, but you asked. You might try muscle milk or maybe call your Dr.'s office and see if you can/ should take a laxative. There are other food products that are recommended but I can't remember anymore what those are. -
CAUTION TMI coming....I slept in Recliner for 2 nights after getting home BUT watch out for the pain meds...I um......well, apparently in the night I had an accident and we ended up throwing away the recliner. The meds were just a bit much for me but it was nice to sleep kinda..

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
pdog replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I spent the day at the hospital for my preop stuff. 7 am: chest cray, gallbladder ultrasound, blood work, urine work, ekg. 9-12: nutrition class at hospital. 1:15: nurse interview. 2-4: nutrition class at my surgeons office. It was a long day, but I learned a lot. It is also my 4th day of liquids and I am feeling cramps in my stomach, but over all ok. TMI: my BM's are weird. All my test result came out normal, so I am ready! QOTD: I would totally get together next summer with our group. -
I had a fill to 7.5 June 4, 2012. I lost 10 pounds. But like always I lose 10 pounds after each fill then I get stuck. I have been slimming a lot lately it's not really my food coming up just really think slimy saliva. Sorry TMI! I had surgery July 20, 2011 and have only lost 55 pounds so I'm pretty slow loser! Do I need an unfill? Is it dumb to think that if I get an unfill I might start losing again? I find myself getting so tired of not having anything go down so I resort to chips, mash potatoes soups! I'm tired of living off those things. Maybe I'm not eating as slow or small as I thought i was. Another thing, when I eat chips or mash potatoes I feel like I can eat a whole lot is that because they go through the band so Easily? I'm confused on what I need to do! I have an app to get an unfill Monday.

You may have to manually disimpact it...which is exactly what it sounds like, TMI but lube up a finger and, er, break it up. :/

I was told when I felt ready. I felt ready one week out :-) I was careful and (tmi alert) went on all fours with a pillow under my belly for support. All was good! Sent from my iPad using VST

I Had A Kick A*% Saturday! Literally...just Need To Vent & Get Encouragement.
JD7176 posted a topic in Rants & Raves
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all...Saturday was one of the worst days I've had in a while. It started well...pedicure, excited to go to a friend's bridal shower, but quickly went bad. I had my first post op meltdown yesterday as I was trying to get dressed to attend the bridal shower. See I've always prided myself on my appearance and clothing. I was a plus size fashionista of some sort. I had my ensemble planned out in my head and was excited since I hadn't really dressed up in a while. I'm a teacher who had her surgery right at the beginning of summer vacay and its been a lot of sweats, tshirts and elastic. Yesterday my clothes were too big....not just "oh there's a little extra room" too big, but falling off my shoulder too big. AND my bra was too big. You could see the cup collapsing under the clingy shirt. I tried 4 different bras and 2 shirts before I broke down. I had a full on temper tantrum. Of course I'm happy, but who wants to look a mess? I finally compromised with myself and headed out the door. Because of the meltdown I was running late for the shower. Then I was even later because the hall sat back from the street, behind another building and I drove past it back and forth for 15 minutes. Finally made it, go in and....I FALL DOWN the last 6 or so steps. I didn't kill myself, but I could feel my ankle throbbing. By the end of the shower I knew it was going to be bad. At home, the swelling and pain picked up. It's painful to walk and all I can think about is I won't be able to work out.... I'm only 6 weeks out and am losing at a ok rate, but when I work out, of course I'm pulling down some pretty damn good numbers. I already was going to see my reg doc on Monday so I'll have her take a look at it and pray for the best. THEN...guys this is your cue to leave. Ladies tmi coming. Then after 1.5 years my cycle starts! My cycle was purposely stopped in Jan 2011 because I have large fibroids. I was given hormone injections every 3 months, but had to stop them in preparation for surgery because of the risk of blood clots. So while I haven't been searching for my cycle I had been a little concerned because the last injection was Feb 2012. Well aunt flo showed right on up yesterday with a wrath....crimson tide! I'm feeling better about everything today. The swelling on the ankle is going down and I'm controlling the pain. Have an luncheon to attend today and I already tried on the dress lol. Can't wear the shoes I had picked out, but I'll be fine. I still am angry about the cycle though.... Thanks for "listening" to me fuss! *kisses* -
Just went through one and I am 3 weeks also!! May be a weird question but are you doing BMs? Everyday that plays a big part in it!! I didn't go for a week didn't lose anything finally went and 2 lbs went out lol I know TMI but it's the truth!

I tried GNC,Isopure, Premier and I my tummy didn't like them either. I was on Herbalife ones for 3 days but they don't have a lot of Protein. OMG can someone please help me out here and give me ideas. I also hate Cottage cheese. So is there another way I can get my protein in with foods?? I've been on a stall for 5 days and I gained 2 pounds because I got my period (TMI) sorry but Im going crazy here. Im 21 yrs old. Is it true that if I don't get my Water and protein in I will not lose weight??

Can't get in the amount of water they want me to trying! And yes walking!! A lot may e to much bc my belly has been hurting! Like I've been to cape may zoo, grounds for sculpture, our closes lake, farm fairs that have been going on. Walking my neighborhood.. My g Kim inlaw said maybe its bc my bodys not use to something thicker and that my intestines and body and stuff has to get use to again and relearn how to digest it. Which sounds right bc I haven't been making any BM. Sorry for the TMI lol does that make any sense?? Lol I thought it did in a way...

Hello, world. I thought I'd take the time to formally list out my non scale victory goal list. Having been around the weight loss block and back again oh say.. 10 times over (enough already!).. I recognize the importance of setting scale and non scale victories for myself. As a young lay-daaay (oh, haaaai!) who has been overweight all my life but with a trendy, fashion-loving sense of style, I have a long one. Sure, I have my weight and health goals. Of course. I've had them for years. But now's the time to list out every detail - big and small - that I have wanted to get to my entire life but due to my weight, have yet to achieve... and keep. Mr. List - I vow to come back to you throughout my weight loss journey for motivation, reminders, celebrations and reality checks.. for those plateaus and frustrating times to keep me going. I'm starting with 18 because I'm a superstitious freak and that's my lucky number. Ready, set... Fitting into designer skinny jeans. Not James Jeans from Salon Z at Saks (though I do love you, boo), but honest to goodness designer denim: Sevens, J Brand, Joe's. Tankini... or, dare I say it.. bikini? Sitting in a chair without something in my lap - a sweater, HUGE BAG, or hiding behind a table to hide the rolls of my stomach. Who am I fooling? The end of thigh chafing. TMI, but Chicago summers? Come ON. More easily tying or strapping on m'shoes sans tummy to make things difficult. The end of plus sized clothing options. Confidence to show my arms. Rock a Rent the Runway dress (standard sizing) for the next wedding I attend! Courage and energy for spinning classes at Fly Wheel or Soul Cycle Easily do ten perfect push ups - the bain of my existence in all my current workout vids! Zipping into my favorite top from my studying abroad (thinnest days) Fitting into any clothing item smaller than an XL or single digits Shop in the same stores/sections as my girlfriends and be able to buy more than just accessories! Take photos without hiding behind people. Actually needing a belt. (Not just for a fashion statement) Able to be carried... On top. Nuff said. Cross my legs... easily, with a sky high pair of platforms, natch. More to come! Anybody else? What are your NSV goals, hopes or achievements? Mine may seem random or superficial, but so many times in my life I've wanted to be able to more easily do these things but my weight has prevented me from enjoying them.

Does Your Spouse Or So Know Your Weight?

Mina...how joyous to make that call to your dad! My parents are both gone now, but i think they'd approve. My dad's saying was"no risk, no reward"! Sleevenn...i totally understand about the vacation thing. Ugh! After my prev marriage ended, i told the ex that i never went to see his parents only because i didnt think i could fit in an airplane seat. He was shocked at this information. He thought i just didnt like them (half true) LOL! PEvette.....your story was heartwarming and inspirational. So far i told two besties, that live 1500 mi from me...my bro and his family and hubby. It's funny because i am the queen of TMI!! But not re the surg. We'll see how long it lasts. -
So I had my vsg Tuesday the 17th..its been rough these past few days! Gas is killing me, I feel it all over my body it seems! Also, (maybe tmi), but my left butt cheek has been hurting sooo bad! I just felt of it to see if it feels bruised, but it actuallu feels numb. What in the world? I'm confused. Also, how long did it take for you to get hungry for anything? I came home yesterday, and I've been sleeping for the most part, but I am not hungry at all!! I've been sipping Water..but nothing else..just not hungry yet. Idk?

Hello everyone! I have searched the boards hoping to find an answer but I couldn't and so, I have to ask. I am 8 days postop and on the full liquid diet. I do shakes, pudding, jello, very bland actually - and (I AM GONNA BE BLUNT HERE) my poop has a very yellow color to it and an awful smell. I am sorry, I know this is TMI but I am counting on help !!!

Erica...I would feel betrayed too. No one in management is supposed to reveal that kind of information about you to anyone. However, I agree with Nicki...I wouldn't make a big fuss about it as it will just blow up. Work it girl...and then be a model (a super model!) of why you did it. Meredith...great NSV!!! I think I'm really close to a 16...or a 16W anyway. All my skirts and pants are too big. I don't know what I'm going to do! LOL. Nicki...doing okay. Still haven't moved but I haven't gone up either. I'm doing more liquids and mushies than anything else. Today is a rest day from exercise...though I might decide to get out on my bike this evening. I just did not feel like getting out of bed for that 2 mile walk this morning. LOL. Plus...I think I'm somewhat constipated (I know...TMI)...so I feel like when things "get moving" there, I'll see a change in the scale. Just trying to keep drinking water and not get dehydrated...its so HOT and HUMID in Nashville! ugh! I'm not doing great with logging my food. I MUST get back into that habit. In fact...I'm going to do that now. Have a great day everyone!

I find that certain...positions...are not as comfortable because of my port placement. Not pain per se, just uncomfortable. But only when I'm bent in half or scrunched up. Okay, yeah, TMI...
