Updated Lawsuit: Built Bar Fired Worker Who Raised COVID-19 Concerns
sillykitty replied to JessLess's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have no attachment to Built Bars (protein bars are not my thing), but I didn’t read anything damming in that article. I’d have to see the evidence in the lawsuit to determine if the company is in the wrong and is undeserving of my business. (For instance, I would never purchase Genepro due to the evidence in the lawsuit against them, and Genepro’s lack of response to the suit) -
What Is Your Beverage of Choice?

@@PorkChopExpress Thanks! I love the powdery consistency of GENEPRO, I'm going to try it in a glass of tea later -
Once you are at the puree stage - refried beans are delicious! You probably still need to supplement for a while though. I bought Genepro Unflavored Protein powder and have added to puree butternut squash and sugar free pudding. You can add it to anything.

shellyd88 replied to Sherri1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stay off the scale your going to make yourself crazy this is hard enough already I only weigh once a week I was sleeved at the end of February this year and have lost 173 lbs since sept 20 th 2014 to now it will happen I swear have you tried the unflavored protein powders at all I used genepro and mixed it in cottage cheese applesauce hot cereals mashed potatoes soups tea etc was the only thing I could stand my surgeon told me that rock in your chest feeling is because of swelling on your insides I had it too was awful also u may be eating to much at one time I had to really reevaluate everything I was doing to stop the discomfort I know it's sounds nuts cuz you can only eat so little but I tried it and it worked also don't drink too close to eating that makes everything hurt as well my dr said to try warm drinks about 45 mins or so before meal he said it would help the swelling I was nauseas every time I tried to eat and I had to stop after 2 bites and this is what he said to do and it helped my nutritionist allowed me for a few weeks to have baby fruit juices watered down or low sugar orange juice watered down I hope this helps -
I'm struggling with muscle loss.
LittleBill replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Genepro claims 30 grams per serving. The only problem is, each serving is 15 grams by volume, and 4 grams by weight. You can't put two pounds of poop in a one pound bag. They claim to reduce the size of the molecules. I can pretty much guarantee if they had that kind of tech, they would be doing something more lucrative than peddling Protein powder. -
Clear protein drink
rspk1963@gmail.com replied to victoria.hudson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Genepro is clear, odorless and tasteless. Some GNC carries it or you can get it on line -
Try adding something like GENEPRO Protein powder to things. They say it has no taste. You shouldn't even know it's in your food or drink. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G750A using the BariatricPal App

Getting fluids down after surgery
mdlange replied to tigereyes6905's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
GENEPRO Protein powder saved my life! It is absolutely tasteless, textureless, and can be added to anything, hot or cold. I put it in everything! Soup, Water, gatorade, you name it. It lets you eat/drink whatever you can tolerate, but you get 23g of protein in every scoop. $34 on Amazon. Get you some. -
When does appetite return?
_Mini_Me_ replied to _Mini_Me_'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ive tried a lot of Protein shakes, they are hard to drink. Ive been using GENEPRO and just putting it in my Water. I should be doing puree, but Soups are a lot more gentle on my stomach and im afraid to push it. Im hoping a little bit of hunger will return so i dont have to set alarms to eat lol Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App -
Besides water, what do you like to drink?
ichabodny replied to Horseshowmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Man, you guys are so lucky for not having been soda drinkers! That was my largest addiction (coke zero and diet ginger ale). I've pretty much evened out now on many things for taste coming back and bits of head hunger but I think the killer right now for me is when I see a commercial or show with a nice big glass of cold soda-forget the food! lol. That's my craving these days. I really do live on genepro mixed with my water and a few drops of sugar free water flavor. I take protein but I found after my labs that my body wasn't taking all the protein I was eating and the surgeon said to try to add more of the genepro for now because our bodies will never take in what everything we take down now. The genepro gives me some filler with my water and it's the best I've found for all the protein needed. Never could take coffee with the gerd I still have but I wish I could for the shift I work! -
Unjury or Genepro??
BigViffer replied to ReginaPhalange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh they are truly unflavored. But that does not mean they have no flavor. They just didn't add anything to mask the taste of the powder. Big difference. As far as Genepro, it's worthless and has been discussed ad nauseam: https://www.bariatricpal.com/search/?&q=genepro&search_in=titles&sortby=relevancy -
January or February 2016 Sleevers?
860971 replied to songsmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depends on how far out you are. My surgeon gave me the ok at 2 wks to have a scrambled egg if made very moist. I add milk before cooking. I have also blended Noodles and Company's hot pot entree. It tastes better that way. Check with your doctor. I also found Genepro powder supplement that I add to everything! It doesn't taste like anything but you get your protein without having to constantly drink the shakes. 1 tablespoon equals 30gm protein. -

Protein Powder Suggestions
BigViffer replied to Shereseed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am neither endorsing nor recommending this product other than to say I have used it: https://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Nutrition-Protein-Turmeric-Servings/dp/B01DOEL8CM?th=1 Tumeric flavored bone broth powder. The problem with it is the fact that it is a poor protein, collagen. This is not a protein that has any great efficacy with muscle growth or retention. It can't hurt, but it is not really giving you the same bang for your buck in regards to usable protein. But it is at least better than Genepro. Pretty much any unflavored whey protein powder would work with a heavily spiced or seasoned mashed vegetable IMO. While I do enjoy a great tasting meal, an OK tasting meal that meets my macros is far more worthwhile IMO. -

Failure, forgiveness & getting real
busybeebug replied to Nibbler's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been using genepro. I count the scoop as on 15 grams because it doesn't sound right that the scoop is,equal to 30 grams of protien. My Surgeon agreed with me. I put it in hot beverages ( under 140 degrees). It tastes better in Apple sauce or oatmeal. -
Ok ordered genepro protein powder and quest protein bars. . I'll offer my input as soon as I get them. Thank you for all the ideas

Everyone has their own tastes that's why you gotta try all kinds till you find some you like. Hopefully the Genepro works for me.

Trial and/or sampler packs of protein powder???
njlimmer replied to TreeTrunks's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I was poking around in the BP shop and found this. Might be a good way to try a sample. https://store.bariatricpal.com/products/genepro-medical-grade-unflavored-30g-protein-powder-sample-pack -
I prefer unflavored, so I can control the type and degree of flavoring. Currently my favorite is GENEPRO, but it does seem too good to be true. Otherwise, it's Syntrax. unjury is a close second, but Syntrax dissolves better. I have been flavoring my shakes with combinations of sugar-free/fat-free Jello pudding mix, cocoa, PB2, and spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. I tried Torani syrups, but they gave me a headache. I've since ordered Monin syrups, but haven't tried them yet. You can also put the unflavored Protein powders in Soups and broth.

Best (unflavored) protein powder
Skywalker replied to Skywalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have gotten GENEPRO in the mail today, and used it in some Greek Yogurt. Impressed with it so far; it mixed in well and did not screw up the taste. It's a bit pricey, but if it works I'm sticking with it. Will definitely be worthwhile if it gets me out of the stall. For the first time in a while I'm meeting my daily Protein goal of 60 g. -
Best (unflavored) protein powder
Nylaj replied to Skywalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GENEPRO is a lifesaver for me. I can have one cup of coffee so for Breakfast, I drink my coffee & 1 scoop of Genepro. 30g of Protein. Then if I am not that hungry, I will do another scoop later in a yogurt or something. It has no flavor. It mixes well if you follow directions.
