    Second fill date coming soon...

hmarko: you might be right about the salivating. I have not been doing that this last week or so and ready for a fill so... I didn't know there was such a cookbook. I love to cook and make up recipes and so it's something I made up. The first time i made meatloaf muffins they got too dry... i overdid the grains in them given how small they are. I use the livestrong site to keep track of my calories so thankfully I can now track my recipes (before they were a little different each time since I could never quite remember what I put in them the 1st time!). It's as follows: 1# of ground turkey; 4 eggs; 1/4 cup dry oatmeal; 1 1/2 cups of loosley ripped up fresh spinich and 2T (1 oz) of crumbled blue cheese. Mix up and put in muffin tins sprayed w/ pam and cook at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.. they're fabulous! It makes a dozen of them. If you like them let me know... I did up a recipe for fiberful meatballs cooked in an arrabiata sauce that I just love... I have 3 and it's plenty with a side of seasoned stewed tomatoes and a 1T of course grated paremsan on top. My husband has always said he can spot ground turkey in a recipe and does not like it.. that was like waving a red flag in front of me of course! I cooked chili, meatballs and meatloaf muffins all with ground turkey and he had no idea and loved them all. The meatloaf is pale so he suspected...but by then he liked them and no longer cared. I did a waldorf salad with pears and apples and greek yogurt with a bit of agave necter in it too and that I really like, but not as filling for the calories..but I can eat apples that way without discomfort and had to have some honeycrisp's when they came out this fall. I have not tried the green beans yet.. i'll have to. I have done pea pods but they can be a bit stringy. I adore the jicima though... even just plain. I'm going to do a stir fry this weekend... think I'm ready to tackle all those veggies at once! I'll just make sure they're cooked a bit softer. I can use tofu then too and that is easy to eat and a good protien source.

New Month, and new goals! This month, I WILL get back to the gym, not tomorrow, but TODAY. I have got to get back to exercising!!!!! On a good note, we had our District Convention (religion) this weekend - three day, and I ate great! I packed my lunch everyday and had hummus and carrot sticks, very filling. I would also throw in a yogurt or piece of fruit. Dinner consited of grilled, or smoked chicken. yum. When I left (Thursday I was at 159, this morning I am at 161). But my body bounces around until it decides what weight it wants to stay at. Also, traveling always makes me hold more fluid. I am upping my water today, and we'll see how tonights weigh in at weight watchers goes. I can't believe I'm getting so close to goal!!!!

Eating has been good, exercise on the other hand, not so good. I don't know what in the world is my problem, just seems I have lost my mojo! I gotta get my mind right, make no more excuses and get my butt moving! Weighed in at weight watchers and lost another .8 lbs. Thats a total of 9.8 lbs since joing weight watchers. It has taken my 3 months to lose it, but hey, I'm losing right? I know its slow, but I'll take anything right now. My weight keeps bouncing around from 158 to 162, I wish it would dip down into the 150's and stay. Maybe if I would exercise it would! I really gotta get to the gym! Menu today: Bfast 1/4 cantelop (1 pt) 1 ww yogurt (1 pt) Dark chocolate (organic) - (2 pts) Lunch talapia, 3 oz (3 pts) Broccoli (steamed) 2/3 cup (1 pt) Snack few almonds, humus (4 pts) Dinner 3 oz grilled chicken - (3 pts) green beans - ( zero pts) WW sugar free ice cream bar (2 pts) Wt - AM - 161.1

    6/08/09 - Day 1 of 84 day challenge

Okay, I decided to start the BFL challenge AGAIN...I've only done it once completely. Usually I don't make it to the end of the 12 weeks, but this time, I'm going to do it! I did it about 18 months ago and had good results, so I need to focus on the results I had and not the "working out 6 days a week". I know I can do it, I just need to do it! I took my before pics last night, so I can compare my pics every 4 weeks and compare my changes. I brought my workout clothes with me to work, so I can workout during lunch, there is NO EXCUSES. Menu today Bfast yogurt mixed with cottage cheese Snack hummus/carrot sticks Lunch 3 0z chicken spinach salad Snack cantelope 1 string cheese Dinner soup Exercise - Upper Body work out Wt - 159.1 - Yay, in the 150's!!!!!

10/14/09 - Teenagers, can we shoot them?

Drama, drama, drama......story of my life these days with two teenagers in the house. My 16 year old got grounded, so I took her phone away from her, well, she thinks she is smarter than me so she sneaks around and buys herself a "trackphone" or "pay as you go phone" so I wouldn't know about it. I'm not stupid, everytime in the past I have taken her phone, she beggs me for it back, does extra chores etc. This time, she didn't say a word, I could tell it didn't even bother her so I figured she snuck around and got her a phone. Last night I found it hidden under her pillow. SCORE 1 for me! Well, being the concerned mother, I find a lot of text to this one boy that we have forbid her to see, and let me tell you, IT WAS NOT PRETTY AT OUR HOUSE LAST NIGHT! I don't think my daughter will be leaving the house until she is about 20 years old now. I've pretty much grounded her for the rest of her teenage years. Needless to say, with all this drama, I didn't make it to the gym tonight which even made me more mad! Tonight we are having a meeting with our daughter and our Elders from church to finish up our little discussion, so I doubt I will make it tonight, but I might.....depends on how long it last and how emotionally drained I am afterwards. Kids are wonderful, but teenagers........can we shoot them? lol. Wt - 164.8 Menu: Bfast Weight Watchers Mexican Meatloaf - (I know, but I was hungry and this sounded good) Lunch Weight Watchers Mexican Meatloaf - (I can't help it, I love it....and I made it last night so I have leftovers......yum yum) Snack yogurt granola Dinner Weight Watchers Mexican Meatloaf green beans Below is the recipe for my Weight Watchers Mexican Meatloaf: Weight Watchers Mexican Meatloaf – 4 pts per serving 1/2 lb raw extra lean ground beef 1/2 lb raw lean ground turkey breast 2 large egg whites 2 ounces cornbread stuffing mix (about 1 cup) You could also substitute with oatmeal too – I usually do half stuffing and half oatmeal 1 medium onion ½ diced bell pepper 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 4 ounces canned green chili peppers, diced 8 ounces red enchilada sauce Directions Preheat oven to 375 Spray broiler pan with fat free cooking spray. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except 4 oz of the enchilada sauce. Form into a loaf shape with your hands Place on broiler pan. Cook 1 hour Top with the rest of the enchilada sauce. Cook 5 minutes longer Slice and serve. Baby food?

I could have puréed baby food (which I didn't cuz, well yuck) on the mushie stage. Full liquids was only Protein shakes, thinned yogurt, thinned mashed potatoes and everything on stage 1. Every doc is different and will reckoned different foods.

Who is sick of purees? Some fresh ideas...

I am new to group first day. I am in the pureed stage but can not visually handle what it looks like so I chew everything I eat up really fine and have not had any issues. Things like scrambled eggs, beans, fish and other meats ( can't be dry). I still have protein shakes and Greek yogurt. I go see my surgeon on Monday will let you guys know how it goes. I'm 4 weeks and 1 day post-op bypass. I am so thankful for this group. I

    Eatting Woes

How about sf pudding, sf jello, yogurt? Those are really easy on the tummy. Or go back to the very basics like broths and increase the consistency slowly. Hope you get your tummy working better soon.

    Chobani yogurt

I'm gonna try the granola idea, and the Protein addition. I'm going to do plain yogurt, then use the fruited ones for a splurge. Thanks guys, you gave me some great ideas and opinions. It helps!
  17. My stomach was nearly pain free but it was time to move on to full liquids. This includes pudding and yogurt. The pudding went down with minimal upset. Some minor cramping. Then today I tried plain Greek yogurt and my stomach got pretty damn sore afterward. Is this normal when you start on super soft foods like that? I ate only a tiny amount.. A lot less than I believe my stomach can actually hold but I don't want to push it. Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST

    First Fill - hungry

Your proteins shake if you are allowed, with yogurt and frozen fruit blended together......nice thicker consistency, may keep your hunger at bay...good luck!
  19. I had my dr. switch me to the tablets to crush. The pharmacist said this was fine for the short term. I plan to crush and mix into a small bite of yogurt or protein shake.

    10 Weeks :) w Pic

As of today I lost 31.5 lvs since Jan 5th Just about out of the 170"s I started working out last week alternating cardio and stength weight training. Food i still a struggle, I dont have a whole variety of eating yet. I just starred adding fruit such as an apple and i can only eat half, I also had pb with it. Still struggle to get my water and all my protein in. Still a learning curve, of finding out which foods I can handle. I had a baby blizzard and it was so good. But at he end must of bene a big sugar attack and i was not feeling well at all, i wanted to make myself throw up, he feeling went away after an hour or so. And the next day no effects from the icecream, before I would hve direhea. I been having milk products for a while in, motly in thr greek yogurt and cheeses. I stick to almond Milk. Also i am Having the odd fruit smoothie every now and then, i can drink a cup but it takes me well ovr 30-60 mins depends how thick it is. Here is an updated pic
  21. I wanted to follow up on how this went in case anyone having the same issues I am finds this thread. I purchased NOW Sports Dairy Digest Complete V-Caps. They are: BioCore Dairy UltraT 108 mg* Protease 630 BLGU* / 25,000 HUT* (from Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus oryzae) Lactase (from Aspergillus oryzae) 1,000 ALU* Lipase (from Candida rugosa) 600 FIP* I decided to take them for a full week before even attempting dairy. I'm still on soy shakes, but I'm so happy to have lower lactose things like my Dannon Light'n'Fit 2X Protein Greek Yogurt back! Today I went "crazy" and had .75 oz of light cheddar. I haven't tried to push it too far, though. One serving of low-lactose dairy a day. That's a major improvement when you consider that I experienced cramps and diarrhea from a vegan cream cheese with a scant 1 mg of non-dairy lactose!

    Phase 2 diet ideas

I had seen a recipe for combining protein drink and pudding mix that I was actually excited to try, but unfortunately I'm not allowed yogurts or puddings until phase 3 - at least according to my doctors guide What cream soups did you have? Just mushroom and tomato? I was hoping to make different soups like cauliflower or roasted carrot and "creaming" it in the blender but not sure if that would be allowed lol Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Meals

Mornings I sometimes just have coffee with vanilla protein powder, or 1-2 eggs, or Greek yogurt with protein powder. For lunch I try to take left overs from last nights dinner which is mostly chicken or fish and veggies. I may have thinly sliced turkey and cheese, rolled together. Snacks may be yogurt, cheese, sugar free Popsicles. I admit I am pretty boring and not creative.
  24. Chicken anything! Chicken is not my friend ! I can pretty much eat anything but I tend to stick with a chosen few foods that I constantly eat alllllllll the time. Chili, egg salad, tomato soup, quest bars, deli turkey, any kind of cheese and Greek yogurt ! Not much variety but keeps me within my limits
  25. If you get Unjury's Strawberry sorbet you can make popsicles, jello, and fruit jell pies with it! You can add it to some lemonade for a strawberry lemonade drink, or do like my friend does and make it with some yogurt for a strawberry cheesecake flavor.
