I was bad today. They served us lunch and I gave in to a brownie. I have not had real sugar in over 3 months. I really just wanted to see how it tasted and I also wanted to see if I would experience "dumping." I guess I'm a sadist or something. The other day I was happy to have felt "restriction" and ended up vomiting. Well I didn't have a dumping reaction to the sugar. I did enjoy the treat while it lasted, but afterwards I felt I'd fall into the old craving of sweets. I surprisingly have not. With it being that time of the month, no less! (I know TMI, but hey this is why we have the forum!). Overall I feel I've tested something within myself with this cheat...but I don't know what...

Thank you so much for your response and it's not tmi - I'd really rather know in advance The fewer surprises the better!! I also wanted to say wow, your most recent post with photo's are staggering! Can I ask, how often do you work out now? And do you find you're more motivated because you're losing good weight or does it just get a bit easier cause you don't have to carry around as much excess weight? Thanks, Lila

Upper GI test is nasty. It went in pink and milky and came out pink and milky and explosive! Not cool . I do love my nutritionist. She is awesome. Anyway. Sorry with the TMI. For the first few days of liquids only what are the brand of protein drinks you are using? The clear liquid protein drinks??

I know, I know the true TMI topic but I am interested in any input. Mine has changed DRASTICALLY since being banded so much so that it is concerning... Anyone else care to weigh in??

Little Embarrassed And Tmi... Painfully Constipated?
Sarah72 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Warning! Don't want to squick anyone out, I'm going to get graphic here! I was banded on 7/25 and incision-wise feeling pretty well, but Friday-Sunday had severe bubbles in my digestive track EVERY time I ate something and it hurt! Even when I drank Water So, not-so-smart me shied away from it all and drank very little of anything. Saturday, I had severe diarrhea so I stopped the colace. Yesterday... well, now I'm constipated-sorta. I have watery diarrhea, but I feel like I'm impacted because it feels like something is stuck. It hurts to even urinate because of the pressure. Anyone experience this? I've never had issues with constipation so this is a new one for me. Yesterday I started taking the colace again and have added some senna today. I also used a glycerine suppository. Things have "moved" a bit, but still feeling a lot of pressure and having the watery bowel movements around whatever is feeling stuck. Was pretty worthless yesterday and today seems to be turning into the same type of day. I am forcing liquids! Drank 10 cups yesterday and have had about 5 8-oz glasses of water today. I"m hoping by upping the water intake as well as the colace and the senna I can get things moving again. I have my follow-up on Thursday and do plan on talking to my surgeon if I'm still having these issues, but would like to resolve it before then. -
I originally posted this in another thread but I thought I would post here as well!!! Im 23 and 5'3"....So I recently went shopping and found that I am finally in regular size clothes!!! WoooHooo!!! My sleeve date was May 1st. Starting weight 257-18w & 2x tops---today 199- ..........14 & 16 REGULAR JEANS & L tops!!!! Notice I also hit Onderland!!!!! I am currently in a stall and have been for at least a week or so! I try not to weigh my self everyday... for the last 2 days I've worn dresses! I never thought I would but they look amazing! As you can tell I'm very proud of my self. It wasn't but maybe 6 weeks ago I was on here crying thinking I wasn't going to drop anymore weight...I have stalled ALOT!!! But hey slow and steady is fine with me. I have noticed I'm starting to have extra skin in my breast area...SRY TMI!!!!! I will have plastics sometime in the near future after I hit my goal. I'm shooting for 160-----140 would be amazing----who knows... Im going to let my body decide. My husband loved the old me, but is wild about the new me.... I'm trying to finish my basics so I can get into the Petrolleum Engineering program. Before the sleeve I was to tired to do anything... I worked full time 50+ hours...I wasn't in control of my life...I am now...What have I learned... No matter the size or shape I am...pretty or not...I love me for me and want to be healthy for me and my family!!! I do not regret my sleeve at all. Vst Or Wls Acronyms And Terms.........let's All Contribute So We All Know

I always thought a slider food was something that slid right through you. In one side and out the other quickly, little digestion. Maybe that was TMI =p -
Vst Or Wls Acronyms And Terms.........let's All Contribute So We All Know

What is Tmi ,DH , DS or -
I am 6 days pre-op. Started liquids today. Started drinking alot of Water instead of sodas over 2 weeks ago. Started taking chewable gummy Vitamins and Biotin about 1 week ago (didn't take vitamins before). I've been suffering from loose stools. Just thought I had a bug but this has been going on too long. In the past I've drank alot of water for this diet or the other and never had this problem. However, this is the first time I've taken vitamins daily. Could this be the problem? suggestions?

How Do You Tell Someone That You're Dating That You Have A Lap Band?

Maybe the problem was TMI too soon and not that you have the band? I confess I wouldn't be particularly keen on a discussion of digestion and dietary measures during the first few dates. -
The Top 5 Things You Will Not Miss After Vsg
SkinnyMinnie2Be posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Here's a tag! Name the top 5 things you will not miss or will be glad to say "goodbye" to forever post op! Here's mine to start 1. The stares from people. Followed by the whispers. I can still hear you when I have literally just walked past u and u say to your friend "look how big/fat she is" 2. The sweating. I'm 25 years old...I am not anywhere near menopause but omg being overweight gives me a glimpse of what night sweats and hot flashes are gonna feel like. 3. The smell...I don't know how else to put it. But ever since I started gaining weight there's that smell that comes with being overweight...tmi perhaps but it's a foul odor from my folds..and especially under my breasts (im top heavy) 4. The disappointment at clothing stores. You know when you see something and you think of course that's gonna fit! But I'm gonna try it on anyways...and it's way too tight? Not gonna miss that! Or worse when ur too tired or annoyed to try it on at the store and u go home to try it and realize its too tight..go to return it and when the cashier says "was there something wrong with it?" and u say yeah it was too big/lose when the truth is it was the opposite but u were too ashamed to say. 5. Being out of breath after the smallest things - walking 10 stairs to the 2nd level of my house..are u kidding me? Then having to sit for 5 mins So I can catch my breath! Forget sports or running or just being able to run around with little kids..I can't even walk without feeling winded!! -
Until last week I have had absolutely no problems. After my first fill (3 cc) I had pretty good restriction (at least in my opinion). I had lost 15 pounds in 4 weeks...and was feeling and doing great. Went in for my next appointment and had 1 cc added. The first 4 days were fine. No problems. Then all of a sudden I started having stuck episodes (no PBing though...thank goodness). After each time I felt lots of pain in my chest, gurgling in my throat, and became sweaty. After sitting, walking, taking off my bra (sorry, TMI), waiting...some times I could continue with a little more consumption...sometimes I was not able to eat...I hurt so bad I would not risk trying to put anything else in my mouth. I'm so confused. Sometimes I am great, sometimes not...but I never had any issues before my second fill. Do I need an unfill? Is it possible I hit my sweet spot with my very first fill and my second was too much? I'm so confused... Help!!!

At What Weight Limit Did You Say "you Have Had Enough"?
enigmachik replied to Gonnabeslim1day's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
For me it was less about the number and more about how things suddenly started getting really hard to do. I was having trouble tying my shoes, bending down to pick up dropped items, and even..uh..having trouble wiping myself thoroughly. lol. TMI, I know, but that was the big one. That was when I knew I had to make a serious change asap! -
Eat What You Want In Moderation Or No?
kmbrlycool replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't figured out this whole thing yet... I recently have been having a lot of rice cakes... Granted they aren't horrible for you... But they are also not good for you either. And I can eat like 3 full cakes at once... Makes me worry about my stomach stretching. But... I feel like I do this more so when I am gettin and have my period (tmi?) -
Hello everyone, Yes, I'm officially one of the Banded now. I had my surgery yesterday on the 27th. Everything went very well. I had a bit of the left shouler pain. I found having my husband give it a good rub with the arthritis cream I use for my knees helped a lot. I also had some pain pills too. Today, I'm feeling fine. I have a bit of bloating in my stomache and have been using the gas x strips. I've definitely been passing some of the gas, so no problem there.....ooops TMI. I couldn't have asked for a more attentive and professional medical staff. I was treated like a queen from the time I entered the clinic. I had my own nurse with me from start to discharge and my Dr. and anesthesiologist were just wonderful. They both described in detail what would be happening to me in the OR and afterwards. I had my surgery at 9:30 and was on my way home by 1:30pm. The doctor called me at 8pm and then again this morning to see how I was doing. He said he'll be giving me a call on Monday too. And the I'll see him in two weeks for an incision checkup. I'm on Clear liquids for the first 3 days and then I can have full liquids for a week, including my Protein drink. He likes to take introduction back to food slowly. He says he wants abit of scar tissue to form around the stoma before taking any kind of a chance with food getting stuck or what not.He said if I follow just what he tells me to do, I should have no vomiting or discomfort. I also have a dietician who is working with me and she gives lessons over the internet. My first one is August 1st. Just like a classroom with hand out sheets that she has already emailed to me. I couldn't have found a better clinic. I'm very happy with how I've been treated and expect to have a long and lasting relationship with my weight loss group. Tips: drink plenty of Water after surgery, have a pillow to hold against you for your car ride, gas x is a must. I found the most comfortable way to sleep last night was in my recliner as they don't want me laying flat for 3 days. You won't have any trouble with the clear liquids after surgery, as I have zero appetite. Just think , this time next year we will all be so much healthier and look better too.

I had my surgery on the 25th too. Physically, I feel better than I anticipated but feeling crummy stomach wise. It took me an hour to get my protein shake down this a.m. and there was no way I could get the recommended lunch and dinner one down. I am not nauseous but just an "ucky" feeling. Anyone have experience with this? I feel like even though I barely had anything today that I may have been overdoing it too quickly when I did. I hope this subsides as I have been kind of down feeling crummy and (sorry, Tmi) gassy. Hope this may just be still residual effects from anesthesia. Good luck to everyone!

Tattoos & Piercings
shrinkingDEE replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have no tattoos. But I have 9 piercings. After surgery I managed to put all my jewelry back on except my VCH. Almost two weeks out and I haven't been able to bend over enough to try to put it in (sorry if it's TMI). I guess once I'm healed I'll try and if no luck I'll have to get it re-done. Boo hoo! -
Hey everyone, Most of you know about my saga - of the either never fixed slipped band or the twice slipped band. I have an appt on Aug 6th - I figured it wasn't an emergency. Everynite I take 3 different reflux meds and sleep propped up on 3 pillows just to get some sleep. A couple times a week, I cough up a mouthful of stomach acid, run and spit it in the bathroom sink. Last nite, I slept pretty well till 4:30 am. I was awakened by a mouthful of acid when I coughed. Ran into the bathroom and spit it in the sink. It was then followed by a good 2 minutes of vomiting acid (brown liquid that burns). Ok, here's the TMI part - if you're squeamish you might not want to continue. I vomited up a whole black bean. Not too weird, if I'd actually had a black bean in the last day or so. Had black Beans for dinner 4 nites ago. Not only was it weird to see a whole one in there (thought I was good at chewing my food), but also that I'd eaten them 4 nites ago (Monday nite). Last nite was probably the worst stomach acid I've had thus far. Brushed my teeth and went back to bed. Actually forgot about it today till a little while ago, when I told my husband what happened. He thinks I should call my dr's office. It's now a Friday nite and there's no one in the office on the weekend. It's not truly an emergency (at least I don't think). What do you guys think about finding food in my stomach from 4 nites ago? Shouldn't that have been passed by now? I remember taking a nutrition class in college and learning you digest your food in 24 hrs. Should I be concerned? Thanks! Marci PS: I'll try not to bother you guys about my stories of acid reflux for a while!

Hello all, I am on my second night post-op and I am feeling completely bloated/nauseous/painful. I have not been able to pass much urine since they took the catheter out this morning and I was wondering if any of you had the same problem? I am getting down liquids slowly but I am sure some of the bloating is due to the inability to pass these liquids. Silly enough, I felt worlds better yesterday than I today. Anything more than the tiniest sip of Water and it feels like a bubble of water is lodged in my throat for a minute or two. It does dissipate, but it's incredibly painful. Anyway, I just wanted to see if other people had this issue/how they dealt with it/how long it lasted. Thanks
