Until I had the surgery, until I lost 42 pounds when I did laundry I had three piles, darks mostly black, whites mostly towels and sheets. Today when I did laundry I had four piles darks mostly blues as in blue jeans sizes 14 -16s thank you very much, then colors such is purples and greens and blues and pinks. And of course towels and sheets. I never really thought about how much black I wore until I saw three items in that dark pile that were black and I was surprised. I looked at old pictures of myself from last summer, the very few I was actually in, All I used to wear was black. I love colors!

Ok everyone, I haven't been on in a while. I have been on a stall the past week an half:( But finally went down again today;) getting all Water in, about 60% of Protein in but I'm trying. Working out doing lots if cardio but I'm thinking I'm gonna need a trainer because my arm are really flabby now! I'm a little amazed on how flabby with a 30 lb loss! Shocking... Sleeved 5/28 SW 290 CW 263 Also for a NSV: I normally would wear a 20/22 but went to mall an could fit in a 14/16!! I couldn't believe it;) All I can say is just because scale is not moving, were still losing in inches -

Hello MichiganChic, Thank you kindly for the congrats! We are so very excited to welcome a little boy into our lives. I feel and have felt like I needed this for my body and soul. I was told that when pregnant that our bodies sort of do damage control, if you will. I think my emotions needed this because it gives me a closing to one tough chapter and a happy start to a new chapter. How have you been? How is life with your sleeve? According to your Body Weight Ticker, YOU have done amazing!!! Look at you!!! That is awesome! Have any NSV's? Phenonemial loss my friend!! I am still very regretful of my sleeve. I have been in counseling and I am working to make peace with this decision. Life has not been the same since my sleeve. My health has actually been worse, than it was when I was 306lbs. Who is to say that If I stayed or gained it wouldn't be unhealthy. But overall, I feel as if, I have never really made it to a 'healthy' status. At a year and a half out, I was still not able to keep nourishment (food/liquid) down. This is attitritubed to the masses that are in my sleeve, and the potential of my vagal nerve being damaged or cut. I have been on so many medicines and combinations to try and keep nourishment down that its not funny. A few months ago, I let it all go! I decided what will be, will be. I would like for my body to be in its natural state. So, I no longer take medicine to keep nourishment down. Labs show sign of malnourishment. I find that If I keep my spirit in the right place I manage pretty good. So, I do my best everyday to eat, drink and take my Vitamins. One day at a time! I've got this! My kidneys have struggled a lot through the leak and they are still an issue. I see the nephrologist regulary. It's painful to endure, but like everything else... I take it a day at time and keep my mind in the right place. I hope that you're having a good Sunday! I look forward to an update on your life with the sleeve! Best, Sannah

Congratulations on your NSV. So, what was in that shrimp salad.

I think temptation issue is one of the biggest NSV's. It's the one we worry about the most before surgery and with all diets or WL events of in the past. To be able to change our eating habits and not be tempted by food laying all about, is a tremendous victory. It's the assurance that our lives have finally changed and food will not rule us anymore. Congratulations.

Is this a NSV?
RJ'S/beginning replied to Healthy_life2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can bet your life that was a NSV. You kicked it! Congrats! -
I think this might be my first NSV---->Had a block party with all my neighbors. food all around and I brought a shrimp salad (yum) I had about a fourth of a cup and had my Water bottle with me. One of my neighbors told me don't be shy. GET IN AND EAT..I had to laugh, I've never had people try to force food on me before. They were eating burgers, hot dogs ,deserts and alcohol. I was not even tempted to go there. Throughout the night I got positive comments. What a journey!

Another NSV I'm sure shared by many.... I went to my 3 month post op appointment on Friday. I was pulling into the parking lot at 1:57 and my appointment was at 2. It's a bit of a hike into the building (it's inside a converted mall). I hustled in and was there is on time. I sat down cool and relaxed and not short of breath. My BP was normal. Last year in August, when I went to my first seminar/apt I remember circling the parking lot to find the closest spot, feeling like I was walking "forever" to get there, was all sweaty when I got to the office and my BP was 160's when they checked me in. 75 pounds gone means I no longer look for the closest parking space and I won't look like I could be wrung out after walking. Just little things like this make you appreciate weight loss and health. I have a ways to go but I've come so far!!

These are great - and so inspiring! Thanks for posting them. My NSVs of late are: Getting a massage (I do two a year) and discovering I fit on the table without tucking my hands under my thighs to keep them from falling off the table! Noticing that even after a ton of extra steps today, my knees don't hurt at all going up stairs! Jewelry is better - rings I couldn't wear for years now fit (wedding ring included!) and necklaces that were too short and felt tight are now just right.

Hi all. I just wanted to share my first major nsv. I actually went into walmart with my husband and walked the entire store to get what we needed. Before I could barely make it half way through our shopping and I would go wait on the benches outside the store. I am excited to already notice a difference even before surgery. -
I was sleeved on May 1st. I went into surgery weighing 223, I was on two cholesterol medicines and a blood pressure med. I had been taking these for years! I am now 8 weeks post op and went for a follow up with my Endocrinologist for my Thyroid issue................. My cholesterol is now PERFECT, I am no longer pre diabetic and my blood pressure is PERFECT!! No more meds!! I am so happy! I will always have to take med for thyroid but I couldn't feel more victorious! Todays weight is 185! I chose this surgery for my health, and it WORKS! Love my sleeve!

Woo-Hoo! NSVs feel so good, don't they? You have worked hard for this. Savor it and look forward to the next one. -
I went to the County Fair today and did not sample ANY fair food! Not a deep fried Oreo, funnel cake, or hand dipped corn dog passed these lips! I brought my own lunch, as did my 20 month old grandson, and we ate together while his mom and dad ordered their lunch, then we went exploring while they ate. Not only am I proud, my wallet is SO happy with me! I'm counting this as a big NSV!!

Any potential sleevers in Perth?
Gesined replied to Sunette's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep, can relate! I want that piece of pizza, but I'm buggered if it will fit in! Just take things easy and your recovery will continue to go well. I'm doing well.. I have lost 10kgs not to bad in 5 weeks, considering the stupid stall I had. It gets easier, and I'm learning what, when and how much to eat. food is becoming not so much of a focus anymore. I put on a jacket this morning as I am desperate for something warm to wear to the footy. All my jackets were way too small. I was gobsmacked when it actually fit! No tightness in the arms, or across the back, and I could even do up the buttons. It's one of those 'NSV's' that I read about all the time, and it feels good! -

@@mrsfitzpatrick I think she meant loss but autocorrect is brutal. Take it from a chronic texter. I also wanted to apologize for making you uncomfortable and will do my best not to going forward. @@WhoKnows YAYYY I've never heard of an exclusive gym but that sounds awesome! High level of accountability for sure. Nsv Got a haircut today myself, not drastic but enough to force me to see my face and neckline has changed for the better. -
