  1. Hey Jeri,

well it been almost 2 weeks and I dropped from 232 to 211 now for the past 5 days I have stayed the same, yes I am able to take in a little more food but not near half of what I used to consume. all pretty soft stuff but I did try hard boiled eggs grated, a chicken tortilla soup not blended and it went down fine a few crackers and oatmeal. I have learned that MILK is not my friend GAS!!!!! I guess once O get my first fill I will be back to not being able to eat anything right? hope your doing well and thanks again for your support I so want to be where you are now. Congrats on all your hard work and effort and success. Patti

  2. Lol rambling is good for the soul. I think this experience will definitely be one to tear you down before it builds you up confidence wise though. Because about a week after I had the surgery I already started realizing. "What the heck am I going to do?" It's hard to gain something that's invisible and you've never had to know how it feels. I've always faked confidence, gone for things people will tell me not to and been a people pleaser, but at the same time I've never thought about what I've wanted to pursue. If I could actually make my dreams come true etc. Like I've always wanted to be in a band. But "who wants an overweight lead singer?" soooo overall I just...I'm wondering so much lately about what's possible now. And I hate not knowing...so it's a break down you know...it's weird

  3. How are you doing today? Just thinking of you. I cheated yesterday for my brother n laws 50th suprise birthday party, but I figured out of the two weeks I can mess up for one day...so today I'm back on it! Hope your doing ok!

  4. well since misery loves company..I'm here to report that the scale hasn't move in three days...annnndddd yesterday I went to tea with my daughter and two girlfriends. It was carb heaven....and of course I cheated. I haven't cheated since I got on my diet but I couldn't take it no more.

  5. You look so amazing! i was wondering....I went from walking 1.5 mile 6 days a week to almost 2.5 miles 5xweek and 2xweek I tone by using the weights....can you tell me how you started your exercise regimine? I have 10days before I get banded and already have made huge life changes! Thank you!

  6. Janet, Thank you for the information. It's good to have someone to help know if what you are experiencing is normal or not. I'm so sorry for your loss. Three friends? My prayers are with you and their families.

  7. If you go to this link it should pull up the weekly program. Scroll down a bit and it shows you what to do each week.

  8. Everything is going really good. Getting fills every two weeks, really starting to feel real restriction. On the 18th I'll be 4 month post-op and even with the 15lb muscle weight gain I had last month I'm still ahead of the curve when it comes to losing, so I'm doing really well with a weightloss around the 60lb mark, I was closer to 80 but I look better and feel better, scale is up but measurements and dress sizes are down :) no complaints here. Hope October hurries for you! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

  9. Hey girl! I'm doing fine...Just trying to be patient and stay postive. I have my sec doc apt next week. I wish October would hurry up and get here! How's everything going for you?

  10. Hi! I am doing great! I am 2.5 weeks from surgery and already down 11.5 pounds. It was a peice of cake. Already healed and feeling good. Sometimes I forget I even had surgery.

How are you doing with that silly 6 mo. diet?? How much longer do you have to go. What a pain that is!

  11. You'll do fine at your doc's appointment! :) I can't wait to hear how you do. I was down 14 lbs at mine last week but I think I've lost about 5-6 since then. The scale is REALLY moving all of the sudden. :) I'm still sticking to a pretty strict regimen. I drink a protein shake every morning for breakfast. Lunch is something small and packed with protein. I eat a TON of chicken and turkey. Protein first! ;) Dinners are less than 1/2 of what I used to eat. Last night was 1/2 of a chicken wrap. Sadly, my hubby has GAINED 5+ lbs, but I think it's because he keeps finishing my meals. I have to get him to stop that.

I'm worried because I'm going out of town this weekend and will inevitably bloat. I don't want to go into my doctor's office on Monday for my first fill and be up or not show any more weight loss. :( So, I'm trying to figure that out.

    Good luck to you! HUGS!

  12. We are all here to learn and support each other! I sent you a friend request, so we can easily keep up with eachothers progress. There are at least two others with our surgery date, so you'll have lots of company to be able to relate in the next couple of weeks. :-)

  13. I'm good... a little nervous about my post-op visit with the surgeon on thursday... I told myself that I don't care how fast I lose weight but I hope after all the liquids and will power... I will have lost a good amount. I lost almost 15 pounds on the 12 days before my surgery.. I am hoping that I will have lost at least that much in these last 3 1/2 weeks... Keep your fingers crossed. It's a struggle getting used to my new diet... especially before my band gets it's first fill. How's your diet going?

  14. You are just the person I need! I am 2.5 weeks out , was banded on the 31st of March 2010. I hope you will be my friend I want to be yours . Cindy

  15. Amazing Job! I was 302 and now I am 205 and pretty much have stalled. I've started running and working out some. How did you do it? Any problems with loose skin or anything?

  16. Hi Setta,

All is well with me. I'm feeling about 90% of my former self. I've been having regular BMs all week. I'm still having regular gas pains in my tummy and shoulder pain. I was thinking maybe I'm becoming lactose intolerant as they always seem to kick up whenever I drink a shake. Last night I was trying to eat a yogurt and I had the worse gas pains kick in that I couldn't have but a couple of spoonsfull. I start the mushy today...yippee!.

  17. I try to get to the gym at least 3x a week and i lift free weights at home. I also hit the speed bag and heavy bag on the days that i dont do cardio at the gym. I jog 3 miles when i go to the gym.

  18. Hi Lety! 20 lbs in 6 weeks is great! My tips for you is....take a pix of yourself every 10 lbs at loss, in the same outfit! For my before pix...I used a shirt and shorts that were to small on me....because I wanted to them get loose....then to the point where they just fell off of me! Find a workout that you love doing and do it!!! Mine is Jazzercise, its a GREAT TOTAL body workout and its so much fun! I do that 5 to 6 times per week. When eating....think about how little you can eat...vs. how much food can you get down....if you think like that, you'll never lose all your weight! Stay positive, some months you might lose 6 to 8 lbs....some months you might not lose any...it's very normal!

I wish you the best of luck! Keep in touch and let me know how your doing! =)

  19. Hi Patrick, How you doing? Hey can you share what you eat during a week or month since your kind of a mentor. I have been doing ok but want to see what else is out there. Still going strong here. Down to 109.3 kg from 123.1kg. Hope your doing well?

  20. Is this my lap band buddy?? Hope so. Hope things are going good this week for you. I'm getting better and glad to be on week two now. Take care, Vicky

  21. Thankfully enough it's just Nausea and with no vomiting. It really gets worse when I meet with another doctor. Always the thought of will I mess up and this doctor not reccomend the surgery. But so far I have been really complimented on my goals and everything I am doing for myself. I get a lot of workouts in during the week. Usually a mile on the treadmill, and 5 miles on the cycle. Then my rounds on the weights. I am really working on the midsection and the glutes. I do not want loose skin after loosing weight. Biggest fear after the band not working at all of course. I never got sore after a workout maybe because I chase after 2 little ones and am constantly cleaning house. Which by the way I was looking up on the internet did you know doing normal housework can burn up to 199 calories per hour. Sometimes more if it's a strainous job.

  22. You're looking great!! Just wanted to check in with you. I've been at a stall for over 6 months now, trying to get back on the wagon and get the scale moving again. Keep in touch. =)

  23. hello, im sorry to hear about the hernia but luckily he found it soon and is going to fix it next week and then you will be back on track!:) does it hurt at all? were you doing to much lifting or how does the hernia start? thank you for adding me on facebook! im on there quite a bit. i love meeting new people on here to keep in touch with! i was banded on march 1st so not long at all! its nice talking to people that have had it for awhile to get some info and tips from! have a great day and il talk to you soon:)

  24. Hey! Good luck next week! I am not nervouse yet but it really hasn't sunk in yet. We will see! I can't wait. Its going to be a great summer! Keep me posted!

  25. girl you look great! but i know how frustrating a plateau can be. it really depends on what you are doing as far as getting out of it. you need to trick your body because it has probably gotten bored so kick up the water if you are not getting enough, try to do at least one hour of cardio 4 to 5 days per week, eat more protein and veggies, minimize the snacking if you are doing that. but again it depends on what you are doing...email me and tell me what you are doing and maybe i can help a little further...
