  1. Yes you are tooooo tight. This happend to me a few weeks ago when I was at 5.5 and I waited 2 days to see if the swelling would go down and after sliming and not being able to drink anything I went back to my doctor he took .5 out and I instantly felt better. I was able to drink warter and I cant tell you how good that felt. I was so tight that i could not swollow my slavia and had to pull over in my car on the freeway several times throught out the day to get spit it out ( TMI) I know. Please do yourself a favor and go see your doctor for an unfill, a small unfill can make all the diffrence in the world no amount of weight loss is worth feeling this way. Also as a side note i went and got my 5th fill yesterday he put .4 for at total of 5.4 and I feel great its not to tight at all. So just because you are tight at one number doesnt mean you will be that way forever thats the beauty of the band it works with you if you work with it and I think i am in the green zone YIPPIE.

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

Yeah agree with this one like pee is different not just in looks, to be as delicate as I can lol other female parts taste and smell different not gross or nasty just different lol I know it affects men too on um consistency and taste when they are on a high Protein diet just never gave it a thought that oh yeah that’s all gonna smell and taste different too btw! (and I could be the only one and just did TMI on my private life LOL)

    Unsupportive Husband..

I am right there with you! My boyfriend (almost like husband we have been together 4 years and he is a step dad to my 4 yr old son) he absolutely disagrees with the surgery and he is skinny as can be. His mom however had weight issues and lost over 100 lbs by dieting and exercising but it took her 30 years to get there. He says I should work harder, but he doesn't want me to get too skinny because he likes my butt (sorry tmi I guess). It's sad cause my entire family supports me on this and the one person I need to have support from just doesn't budge on it and he doesn't say anything but he has reservations about it. He won't sit with me and go to dr appointments or try to learn more, and he says I won't research or try to listen to him on dieting as exercising but I told him before I've tried both but weight just comes back. It's really frustrating and stressful because I feel like I have to go behind his back about it and I shouldn't feel like that.

    Bad Breath?

Thanks for the feedback! I haven't noticed the BO, but my urine has a very different smell too (sorry TMI, but related). I hadn't connected that until you mentioned the BO, but it started with pre-op diet also. Hmmm, very interesting. FamilyGirl, What are Keto-sticks and how do you get them? Can you tell me more about them. please?
  5. So I am sleeved as of Saturday by dr. Alvarez. Everything went fine and I am flying home today. Once they took the IV out on Sunday, I didn't take any pain meds for about 6 hours and was pretty miserable. I asked Jessica and she said they discouraged taking the pain meds unless you really need them. Yah - after 6 hours of no meds I decided I'm a wuss and really needed them. No point being completely miserable - I did have surgery after all. I will take them today since I am traveling home and try not to take them tomorrow. The gas pain and reflux were uncomfortable until yesterday (two days post op) but I've been taking the anti acid meds and it seems to help. I've been able to drink liquids albeit slowly. I just had some peppermint tea at the airport that was devine. I am going to try to tough it out the next four weeks. It's probably going to be hard. On clears for a week and then full for two more weeks. I'll weigh tomorrow although not optimistic. Very bloated and constipated. Tmi.

    Funny Taste

I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and I have had that too. Smells bad (sorry if that's TMI), especially in the morning when I wake up... Sometimes, it feels like no matter how much I brush my tongue (using my Orabrush) and my teeth, I just can't make it go away, but mints do help! I got some medicated ones (TheraBreath: Mouth Wetting Lozenge) from CVS. Maybe they'll work for you too... It's so encouraging learning that this means I am burning fat! Thank you so much for sharing that!

1 Week Out Full Liquids And Puree

Im 13 days post op and they do it to me every time. You can look at it two ways 1. As a bad thing or 2. As a "cleansing" product lol i rather it come out i know TMI so that i lose weight rather then for it to stay in and build up and me gain or stall :-\ idk it doesnt bother me too much cause i look at it as number 2
  8. I am 4 weeks out and am scared to be somewhere without a bathroom in sight. I am currently on soft foods. yet everytime i eat, 10-20 minutes later I get cramps and have to run to the bathroom with diarreah. I'm okay after the fact but it hurts and is keeping me at home. Any advice?

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Tried an enema? Not as bad as they sound... You can get a kit off eBay if your local chemist doesn't stick them. Warm tap water is fine for occasional use and they really work.. Tmi?

    Day 3 Post-Op

I think my biggest issue, for lack of a better word, is that I've been quite tired these last few days; low energy. I'm drinking my protein drink, water, broth, SF popsicles and SF jello. I don't think I feel hungry so that's good, I guess. Wait.... I think my tummy is actually growling at me right now. Hum,,,, need to get more protein in me. I've also had pretty restless sleep, tossing & turning & tossing & turning. That's probably another reason why I'm tired. My tummy only felt "achy" the first 2 days. This may be TMI but I'm sure someone will appreciate my just saying it. I've been burping quite a bit when I get up & walk around. I'm told that's good because they pump air inside you during the surgery & it's good to get it out. I also had a little gas, but had not gone to the bathroom in 3 days. Thankfully, I was taking Miralax, drinking Smooth Move tea, and finally yesterday added Sedekot (I think that's what it's called). Um, things finally worked themselves out yesterday. Please make sure you take fiber so you don't run into issues. Another thing, I only used my pain meds twice. The night I got home & that next morning because of my crazy headache. I haven't touched the nausea meds I was prescribed (yet) so I'm thankful. This might sound crazy but I made sure to use a heating pad on myself Fay 0 and 1, while gently rubbing my belly. It seemed to help some how. I took today off from work, and am considering taking tomorrow & Wed off. This way I get some real time to get comfortable with everthing. My follow up is this Wed, so I was thinking of working from home Thurs & Fri. I'm lucky enough to have that option when in this type of situations. That's it for now, Please feel free to make comments or ask me questions. I'm learning as I go, and am worth than happy to share my journey. Good luck. PS - I've lost 7 1/2 pounds now,... and I need things will slow down soon, since right now I'm on the clear liquid diet. It's all good. DIdn't gain all this weight in a day so it won't come off in a day :)
  11. Liquid BM but that is to be expected right? liquids in liquids out? It's was once last night and once this morning. I am getting in about 44oz of Water adding more G2 today just in case this is diarreha I don't want to get dehydrated. I'm hoping it is just my body's way of getting my small and large intestines back in the grove of things....moving!! I am eating no solids and plan to only follow my Doc's lead to avoid long term problems. Thanks! Pre surgery weight: 236 Day of surgery: 224 5 days post op: 223.4 and still bloated

    December sleevers!

Hello my fellow December Sleevers!! I was sleeved on 12/19/11 and I have lost 122lbs!!! I feel great about myself now and about life. I have competed in two triathlons and I have another one in September to celebrate my 36th year birthday. I also have two 5Ks coming up soon. I went from being 296.8lbs to 175 and a tight size 22 to a size 6 or 8. I am hoping to lose another 25lbs and get a tummy tuck and a boob reduction. Sorry boys if that is tmi. This surgery has changed my life is so many different ways. But the most important is the knowledge that the surgery is just a tool. When people ask me how I've lost so much weight, I tell them I exercise a lot, eat well, and oh yeah I had surgery. I am also living a dream I've wanted to do since high school. I always wanted to be in the color guard of the marching band but I was always too self conscious because who wanted to be the fat girl in the tight uniform?? So now I am the instructor of the color guard!! I love it. Keep up the good work everyone!!!
  14. I'm 4 days OUT like omg! I can't even believe I'm saying this before I was waiting to get clearance now I'm 4 days out! I swear it takes me like 2 hrs but physically I feel fine I still have gas pain but other than that I'm cool. I don't have a issue swallowing or anything, burping yes! I wish I could just burp my life away at this point but right now it's just now working. I also wish I could fart (I know TMI) but I just can't! I haven't had any bowl movements yet idk if that's a bad or good thing yet. I have Been walking a few times a day but I'm just so short of breath it makes it's hard. What I ate today was water, 2oz of special k protein shake and a sugar free Popsicle tonight im gonna have some 4oz tomato soup. I'm not having any craving for anything usually when I see food commercials I'll start my cravings streak..but I've seen 7 commercials almost back to back for food and haven't had one thought about eating at all..I'm guessing that's a good thing right?! Well I'm due for a nap and I'll ttyl guys!

    Frustrated

Sometimes my brain just can't seem to agree with itself, and definitely not with my body. I know that the week three stall exists, and I know that my hormones are out of wack, but I am having a hard time not being frustrated at my body. I think it's a combination of the two, plus the fact that the week before last I put out a tiny also. I haven't had a decent loss since the middle of week 2. I have been stuck at 298 for the past week now. I should really learn to follow my own advice better. Put the scale away, Izuri! It's much easier said than done. It would be helpful if my rational brain could emerge a little more this week. I am on my period for the third time since surgery, which was almost exactly 3 weeks ago. I am not sleeping nearly as well as I used to, and I have had no energy for the past 3-4 days. I thought that maybe I'd switch things up on my diet. I've tried diligently to get in my protein, have cut my carbs down to under 40 like my doctor recommended, and have been loading up on water like it's going to disappear tomorrow. Nothing had helped me budge from 298. My rational brain knows that this surgery works. It knows that I'm already down like 27 pounds and that's a lot for 3 weeks, that I should just be happy and put the dang scale away. I know I'm retaining water because with all that like 80oz of water I got in yesterday I think I went to the restroom maybe 3 times (TMI? Sorry.) there's just no way I couldn't be retaining. Plus, my 28s fit, whereas they were loose before. I guess there's this little part of my brain that keeps worrying that maybe that was it. Maybe those under 30 pounds are what I get from this surgery. I know that's almost certainly not true, but I just wish that part of my brain would hush up. I just hate doing everything right and having it not work. I have read through a lot of week 3 stall posts to try and keep myself from being discouraged. I am not going to give up, but I would love if anyone had recommendations of things they do when they start feeling frustrated about a stall. I am gonna make it through this and come out on the other side finally freaking losing again. Anyway, I know it's been ranted about 100 times over, but I just needed to get it out somewhere.

    5 Confessions (Join In)

Thanks, Trcyprkr. I do know that it may be easier to get pregnant after weight loss. I'm more concerned with the permanent damage to my self esteem to ever want to date again. I haven't dated in years and I'm at the point where I don't want to be touched - or looked at, for that matter. I also confess that I fear never being in a significant relationship because I dislike my physical self so much. Probably TMI, but that's more along the lines of what I mean... I'm glad I'm not the only basket case out here! I've always said I don't want kids, when really i don't want A BABY. I like my sleep! I don't like the idea of trusting a babysitter with a child that can't talk to me and tell me if they're being taken care of properly. A kid, I'd love a kid. As I get older and have a closer bond with my mom, I kinda wish I had the same thing, a kid that would grow up to be an adult, having a hand at raising someone to be a productive member of society... I'd love THAT. But finding a man to marry? Getting married? Giving up my singledom? Giving up my living alonedom? Having a baby wake me up several times a night? No thanks! lol! That said, the idea of not having a child (and factor in that I'm an only child myself), I get nervous thinking about what my life will be like after my parents are gone... it makes me incredibly sad to think about being alone. I appreciate everyone letting me express myself here. It's therapeutic and so many of you are supportive and kind. Thank you so much!
  17. Okay. I know this is tmi but I am 3 months out of surgery. I have been so constipated for the past week. I am drinking 8 tbsp of milk of magnesia. Nothing is helping. What can I do??

    Need Advice On A Bicycle

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond and look at these for me. No such thing as TMI for me. I'm a sponge, & I'm very cautious on how I spend money. I like to be as well informed as I possibly can be before I make any kind of investment. I'm a huge believer in you get what you pay for only to a certain point. Then you're paying for a name, or the law of diminishing returns kicks in. I really want to be on that line where I'm gettinthe best experience I can without paying extra for a name. I'm pretty mechaniclly inclined, but have never had much luck adjusting the linkage on multi gear bikes. Is it easier on higher end bikes or should I just pay a bike shop to do it for me

    Not Complaining But...

Sliming-I didn't know the word til this site. Today I tried to eat a KFC chicken bite. By the second one, I felt this sharp pain in my sternum or in the area. Then I started burping kind of like wen you swallow alot of air. Then my eyes and nose started running. I knew I was stuck with a bite of chicken. It goes up or down. Went in bathroom stood over toilet sorry...and just stood there. Bent over and clear slimy spit just drooled out. Then I just spit up a little stuff not vomiting. So hard to explain but this is about it. Stopped and it did it again. I felt unstuck and I don't like this feeling. There are trigger foods for me that don't go down so well. No bread, some chicken, and certain meats and certain veggies. Sorry for TMI. But you need to know and again I was recently filled more and you just don't always know what will work and what wont. http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/w3x7zPz/

When Was Your First Bm Post Op?

Well here's some TMI.....day 7 and it was very painful and bloody and then after that it's been soft, a little runs but not bad. When I went in for my post op with Dr. he asked about BM and before I could even tell him he said "a little consipated? and was there blood"....apparently this is "normal". Anyway, all is fine and no more pain, it was only that 1 time.
  22. Hello #4, Well it happens from strong antibiotics or you can get it from someone else who has it. For me I was on heavy antibiotics so it wiped out my natural balance in my intestines/bowels. The worse part is I'm not contagious if I have it so I have to be extremely careful so no one else in my family gets it. Craziness! The antibiotic caused it and get this...what heals it is yet another antibiotic. It can cause bigger issues if it's left too long to fester so if I do have it, I'm sure hoping we caught it early enough to not cause colitis or other issues. I had to look this up because naturally the surgeon only mentioned it didn't explain it all. I'm sure she will once we know for sure. It's just not pleasant. It causes cramps or pain in the abdomin but, my period is now 8 weeks late as well so I thought at first that was part of it too. Hoping to hear soon. I think I threw the woman off in the lab. She gave me the sample cup, toilet guard, baggie and told me to put the date and time I did the sample. Then bring it back to her and they'll test it. I think she thought I was going home. Heck...didn't take long to give the sample. TMI I know but, that's how sick I'm feeling with this right now. Yuck! Besides if they have to culture it for 3 days I didn't want to wait yet another day. Thank you for your support. I appreciate it. I keep saying....this will all be worth it. It's for the best....as I squeeze my cheeks and pray to the porcelain Gods LOL

Not TMI. I asked. Thanks for the info. I am hoping for the runs too, but am expecting constipation.

When Was Your First Bm Post Op?

I went through the same thing. I felt perfectly fine too. I was told by my Doctor to take Magnesium Milk but it tastes terrible. I finally went on my own on the 8th day (I use a bidet -- definitely helps), but it was just ED -- Explosive Diarrhea, TMI... (I'm sorry!)

When Was Your First Bm Post Op?

I did not go #2 for 11-12 days post-op. Dr said not to worry, but if I was concerned take 1 low dose stool softener every other day or fiber supplement until it happened. However (tmi) that first one I would say was the closest I could come to giving birth. I almost cried, and when I saw it, was not really surprised since it was almost 2 weeks of number 2 all at once. Now, if I haven't went for 2 days, I start the low dose softener, and all s well.
