I understand. The waiting is a torture. I am waiting to. I have an appt. with my surgeon 9/7/11. It took 3 weeks to get that. My insurance already approved it but I have 6 months of jumping thru their hoops. I am just ready to get the ball rolling. Good luck.

ok sorry about that i was on something different before.... Iam in day 5 post -op and was feeling terrible but got through today and feeling a bit better...is there anyone else out there who can tell me how they got through the first few weeks, i feel so hungry all the time and am working with all i got but it still is hard to feel full...and then stay in a good mind frame any suggestions

hi all, just joined, haven't had anything done yet. just talked to the dr. last week. when losing a lot of weight, does your skin sag in the face and neck area?

I have been a lazy bandster with posting! lol I have been adjusting to this band slowly but surely!! Today I am 1 month post op and ready for a fill!!! I go Sept 8 for 2nd follow up and Praying for a fill on the 9th!! I dont have any restriction ( don't ask me how i know lol) So i am all healed up and ready for a little fill. I have been walking my butt off!! 4- 5 x a week! have a good w/e!

<3 thank you so much! I got my date yesterday! I will be banded on September 30th! I start the 2 week liquid diet on Thursday.......Never thought I would be so happy to only get to drink my food. LOL! )

GOOD LUCK for surgery!! you will do great! Little discomfort for few weeks.I actually returned to work after 2 weeks. Biggest pain I had was actually in my arms because of all the gases being pumped into me during sedation. Its worth it!!

It will take about a week or so. The pain will be worth is I swear! Hollar if you need to talk!

Ya mines tomorrow and im not so much starving im just craving all the food i love specially pizza. I just cant wait for the five weeks to be over so i can start eating actual food again!

Meekie this is my first time posting & I really need some band friends. I have been secretive about it with everyone except for my mother, niece, and a clost friend. I am really a private person. Next week I would have had my band for 1 year and I have lost 40 pounds. I am a bit down today because I have gained 5 pounds. I missed my fill last month because of schedule conflicts. Need advice.

Some people drift through their entire life. They do it one day at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time. It happens so gradually they are unaware of how their lives are slipping away until it's too late. I don't want that to be me..Thanks to Lap band..

I didn't lose anything for almost 2 weeks and went in to see the nutritionist. She looked at my food diary and said that what I am eating is good. They gave me another small fill. 1/2 cc. I could tell the difference right away.

I am on my 10th day post fill and I am down 6 pounds. I am at 200 now and hope to be in the 190 by next weekend.

Hey Brinabrina77. I so glad we had a change to meet in person, you look so good and even smaller in person!!! Your are an inspiration to me and to alot of people we met yesterday. I hope we get to stay in touch, too. I will try to attend more meetings but it will be the ones on the weekend, not during the week through. Got my six months with nutritionist in this week(had four before 1st dr visit). Back to surgeon Feb 24th.

hi again- you had asked about pain under my ribs. just last week something inside kind of squiggled and moved around in my belly...and suddenly I know longer have that pain or discomfort. It is the weirdest thing! I was banded in July. Last week my dr got an Xray, so might have more info soon. Now the band is working, Im not hungry, I can still feel a sensation beneath my ribs, but ok. ~hiddn

2.1.11 I will be going to get another fill on Monday feb 7th. I ran another 5k on saturday, feeling great although the scale is stuck again. I have not weighed myself in a week, but i feel great. I know it will drop soon! it better, I can tell my clothes size 14 are feeling loser, I just keep looking at my old pictures and feeling greatful! I workout out 6 days of week and loving it! Blessed!

Was told after all my appointments that doc's office will submit papers for approval Monday 24th. If it is a NO then will know by end of this week. if Yes - next week. Was tiered of waiting and called my insurance today. They never got a call from my doctor ... AHH!?!?!

Three days post-op and feeling rather lousy...how long before feeling more normal after lap band surgery?

I got banded on 4/28/11 by Dr Gee, what a great Doc he was so nice and informative, prior to surgery I met with him and as an RN really grilled him on his precedure, infection rate ect. He was very patient in explaining his technique and was offended at all by my questiions. so far lost 20 lbs have a lot more to go and will be getting my first fill next week. I'm nervous about that.

After 9 months of insurance hassels I've had my surgery 1 month ago, to date I've lost 20lbs and in another 2 weeks will have my first adjustment. Healing has gone very well. Only twinges now and then around port site.Looking forward to connecting with other lap banders for support and information. Thanks

Hey there! Congrats on being banded!! I'm three weeks out and so far so good. Can't wait for a fill though...not sure how long this will power thing will last!! How are you doing?

How are you feeling post surgery? Almost 2 weeks down!

i am trying not to get frustrated but sometimes its just so hard and say why did i do this and why aren't i losing more weight...i dont expect to come off all at once, but maybe a lil more a week would be great. if i am losing inches i certainly dont even see the change in clothing...still same size pants and shirts. even tho i lost 12 lbs...ughhhh...lol
