  1. Sara – I agree with Terry, she makes a lot of good points. FIL doesn’t understand the full picture or how the band works. Please don’t think twice about his comment. I will keep the thoughts and prayers going for Dave, you and your family. Pam – love the pictures of the rooms – you did a wonderful job. Looks like the pain was well worth it. Theresa – good luck with the personal trainer and congrat’s on the NSV. Judy – congrat’s on the NSV Capri’s! Jane – congrat’s on your NSV – I can relate – I use to use a seatbelt extension while flying – I think this is finally behind me forever! Kat – oops… wisdom IS a good thing – I wish I would have had it when I was 16 – rather than a know it all! (LOL). What a wonderful Birthday present to yourself – 100lbs gone – forever!!!!!!!!! Jennifur – congrat’s on exceeding you exercise challenge! Good luck on the job front! Gina

    Labor Day Challenge 2012

Week Four post op Challenge weight: 203.4 Last week's weight: 192.8 Today's weight: 191.0 (down 1.8 pounds) Goal weight: 180 After last Monday, went up 1.2 pounds then into a stall until yesterday. Looking forward to a bigger weight loss week. Lots of NSVs every time I wear something. I LOVE my sleeve!
  4. I think my last straw was after I saw a nutritionist and I weighed in at 357 lbs at age 41. From that day forward, I have been on plan and I have never looked back. I am almost 16 months out and I feel like a million bucks! I got on a plane without needing an extension or buying an extra seat (EMBARASSING) and the tray table went all the way down AND I was in the middle of a 3 person section. I felt like I didn't make them feel uncomfortable. I felt NORMAL!! I avoided going to concerts because I and those people sitting next to me were miserable. I can't wait to see another concert!! I can fit in restaraunt booths comfortably and I have lots of room between me and the steering wheel in my car!!! I have so many more NSVs. Thank you sleeve!
  5. And a 1 year after update for you all. I went from not being able to cross my legs, to cross in the shape of a figure 4, well last night I crossed them and I almost make a Roman Numeral I, I used to envy my late father-in- law, a tall thin normal- proportioned Dutchman, cause He Could and I Never Could, well today I CAN and. even wrap one foot around behind the other like I've seen Fox News Ladies do, so their undies aren't in view. Whooee, Yippee Yahoo, I'm almost NORMAL & AVERAGE in appearance, Another NSV that I never planned for, they just keep coming and I 💕each and every new thing about ME I FIND!👈😛👉

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

AussieLady, I embeded the video in the following topic http://www.verticals...52-nsv-changes/..hopefully you can view it there Shell - WAY to go *insert happy dance*...you look awesome. Thank you all for your feedback and comments, especially about the video and the negative people. I know I have to walk away from this person, but he was my biggest supporter over the last year, being there encouraging me for almost every challenge I set myself. But he lies to me, about things that are not worth it, so how can I believe what he says about me...his actions and words dont aline and it just does my head in. Talking to him about it only leads to more lies..anyway I will find a way to put some distance be healthy mind and spirit. New Year...finally New ME!! BTW I am open to be set up if anyone know and nice elligible single men hahaha:)

    HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!

Current weight 229.6. Don't think I will reach my weight goal, but went to my endocrinologist today and she is thrilled. My PCOS is in remission, H-A1C is the lowest it's been in years, cholesterol is normal. So a NSV for me. [emoji4]
  8. Bella - best of luck for today, thoughts are with you Maybe we need to do a thread here with everyone surgery dates as will all our members now I can't keep up with surgery dates for you all I had a great NSV yesterday - was looking for something to wear to my brothers for lunch and a swim and seen a netted top of my 12 yr old daughters (size M/L) to wear over my togs. I couldn't believe it when it fit perfectly...I was over the moon that I could fit into her clothes and showed hubby and he was blown away at it also . She said 'mum don't tell anyone you can now wear my clothes haha' Then had lunch with family and they were saying I'm now the smallest one of them all - THAT WAS GOLD So I hope everyone is well and ready for the next week ahead xx
  9. Congratulations Kelli! You are my hero. Lissa, you look so beautiful! And I love the walking NSV! And look at you letting yourself be photographed. Way to go!
  10. Shell you look amazing!!!! What a difference!!! And congrats on the promotion. I can so relate to the massive boost in confidence. NSV TODAY!!!! My size 16 work pants were swimming on me. They were target brand, but I had a pair of Kmart ones that fitted better, they were 16 too. I went to target today to get the same style of pants in a 14 as they were pretty comfy and a good style. I work with my sister and she came with me into the change room. She grabbed a size 12 and a 10. I tried on the 14 and it fitter ok. It was a little loose around the waist, but didn't fall off my hips like the 16 did. My sister looked amazing in the 10 and gave me the 12 saying just try it. And guess what!!!! IM WEARING SIZE 12 WORK PANTS!!!!!

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Congrats! That’s amazing! I am almost 2 weeks post op too and I have been able to stop taking all my blood pressure medications!! Those NSVs make this whole process worth it already!
  12. Hi all. I've been quiet too of late. I work in the food and beverage dept of a leagues club and you can imagine how busy I've been leading up to last night. Plus school holidays etc. did you know it's only 85 more sleeps until Christmas? Neither did I until at 6 am I was woken up and informed. *groan* Weight has been steady, not stalled, just coming off very slowly. Joined the gym and realised that you have to actually GO to get the benefits of it. I'm sitting at about 73ish kg ATM, surgery weight was 86 6weeks ago. I know I had less to lose and I'm happy with what I've lost, but I still can't see a difference in the mirror, and I'm hearing all these big numbers, which I'm jealous of. 10kgs until I'm in the healthy weight range, although I'd like to lose 15 more. I traded in my old size 16 work shirts for size 12 which is a good thing, another NSV I guess. Still have 2 more weeks of soft foods before I'm on full solids. I can eat 1 chicken tenderloin with a bit of low fat dressing and that's about it. I'm stuffed. Still struggle to finish an Optifast shake or bar. Drink at least 1L of Water a day and have had the swisse hair skin and nails Vitamins since before surgery, but they are HUGE so haven't started taking them yet. I take a nexium everyday, and can really tell the days I've forgotten it. Acid feels exactly like hunger. Will keep taking it. That's about it for me. Hope every1 is well and I'm still thinking of Lila.
  13. I finally took my measurements last night to gauge my non-scale success and I'm happy to say that I've lost nearly as many inches as I have pounds! Since July 19, 2013 I've lost 38.75 inches - 10 from my waist alone! Ain't the band grand?

    JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

My first NSV - wearing a pair of shorts I couldn't get on at the start of summer!
  15. It's been over 9 months and I'm just now getting up the guts to post before and afters. Right now my scale is broken but I know I'm over 60 lost. I still have 100 to go but today I had a HUGE NSV. I went to buy some new carpi's for work and before surgery I wore 28's (tight) 30/32's. Today I grabbed a 26 and too big. 24...too BIG! I bought 22's!!!! I can't remember the last time that happened. It's been over 10 years since I fit 22's!!! My shirts are still bigger because I carry my weight around my mid section, but I can now shop for shirts at lane bryant again. Anyways, I figured it's time to post some pic's. I finally see a difference! Thanks to everyone for being so inspiring! Love you all! First pic was taken a few days prior to surgery and the second was taken tonight!

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

I have a great NSV. My daughters class was going on a trip and I was a chaperone. We ordered shirt for the group and I ordered myself a large. Which is a huge victory in itself. The day the shirts came she brought mine home and told me that mine was one of the only large shirts and everyone else was either an XL or 2XL. I couldn't be happier. I wore it for the trip yesterday and it was even a bit big. Loving my sleeve. Down 95 lbs since 1/16. 35 more to goal.

Had a lovely NSV today! Went shopping & got several sweaters & 3 pairs of size 18 pants AT THE ACTUAL Old Navy store (you can't get plus size at the stores- it's online only!) I actually tried on pair of size 20s & they were TOO BIG!!!

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Friday was my 6 month (at 7 months? post op follow up visit. My BP was 110/57 HR was 76 Amy cholesterol 135 overall LDL 43 HDL 85 all other blood panels were in the normal range A1c was 4.1and my body fat is down to 20%! The Dr. was extatic about my results! He said that by far I am his most successful patient at the VA! My skin is healing well I have some loose skin but looks like it is still young and will probably not need to have any removed as it is not hanging and my muscle building will help for it to "go back to normal"! Another NSV is my energy level, my family and are are getting ready to move across country (for me to continue my education I was accepted to Colorado State University) and I have been loading the moving pods all weekend and have done most of the heavy-lifting myself. I am not tired or sore I worked all day both Saturday and yesterday and was like the energizer bunny, I just kept going and going.
  20. TOTAL NSV! You go, girl

I’m sorry if we offended you as a newbie. I hope you revisit the thread 6 months post op and I think you’ll even participate. It’s all about change of perspective and when you can relate to this post, it also is a NSV. Much love, and honestly sorry for offense. -Ashley

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

wow kathy - thanks for the advice. im seriously considering what you suggested. as a matter of fact, i did go past the 28 mins tonite. i wanted to make it to 4 whole laps around the blocks in my neighborhood that i usually use as my course. thats just a hair under 2 miles. by next weekend i should be ready. tuesday im supposed to go running with a girl i know and she does about 30 mins. so i'll go with her then. the only other hold up is that my old computer died - the one with all my music and playlists... if i can figure out how to copy the stuff on my mp3 player to the other puter then i can do what you suggested. if not then by saturday for sure. now, for your NSV, Kathy...WOO HOO! now u can be the measure for your family to say - "I want to be as small as Kathy!" very proud of you! thats an excellent accomplishment. you are close to correct about me being cautious. but im not so much cautious, but methodical. I figure if someone has gone to the trouble to study the science behind the C25k program then its based on good info. But i really trust you and ive seen that info b4. so thats y im considering your challenge. will let you know when i am ready to be there. but tonite was the first time i felt like i didnt feel every step and ready to stop after the first lap. lyn and ktork good to hear from both of u. everyone else... have a great week! July Butterflies Master Thread

Charlene, good luck with the sleeve and congrats on approval. If I were to ever lose my band, I would hope I could have the sleeve done. I don't qualify now, but I am afraid I would regain what I have lost without some kind of help. Cynthia, you have been through a lot in the last 4 years, but it sounds like you have gained wonderful family and an amazing man since then. Continue to fight, you are worth it! Update on my exercising...in the last 24 days I have only missed exercising 1 day. I am excited that I am able to stick to it and I was working on the elliptical mainly on level 7 as the lowest in the beginning and now it stays on level 13-15. I haven't lost any weight at all, but my husband and dad said I look smaller. Today I noticed my jeans were getting baggy and I realized I could pull them down without unbuttoning or zipping them! So, that is a surprising NSV! I hope I am able to keep it up. I am not sure I will be able to fit exercising in when I go to New York next weekend, but we will be doing so much walking that it will make up for it. Happy Bandiversary to us all and keep fighting!
