Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
awaywego replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi folks, sleeved on the 2nd, pain was a bit more than I expected, had my drain removed on 4th (that was an experience I never want again) went home Thursday evening feeling the same as a lot of you, massive gurgling going on in belly and abdomen. Moving in bed was a task and sleeping flat impossible. I am now able to sleep side to side and getting out of bed is a tad bit easier. I'm working on getting my fluids in, its hard. Going to try Powerade today. I could not drink my chocolate protein powder had to buy vanilla. I'm now having (Tmi) diarrhea after anything I try to eat. Anyone else having this? I feel OK for most part just spent and energyless. Good luck to all my sleeve sisters/brothers. Everyday we make progress -

JaspersGirl replied to BlaqBeary's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I use toning creams, I wish I could tell you which ones but I got an email stating to "stop advertising", not sure if someone told on me thinking "I am advertising", The other day I was at the hospital accompaning my good friend with her sleeve surgery (I work at the same hospital, so I was able to be there day and night, off shift and even on shift go check up on her etc), as I was changing into my scrubs, I took off my pants and didn't realize how my flap had shrunk! Not to be gross but I was happy to be able to see my hoohaa! lol sorry, tmi. But after experiencing the whole pre op hours and recovering time, etc... I was really wishing I could redo my surgery and just have the same joy of my rebirth! I had surgery March 1st 2011 THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF! I am glad I found this site as well to be able to chat with you all, those who know what I am going through. -
Maybe TMI but for the first time since surgery I wish I would puke. I had taco salad (just the meat, cheese and some tomato) and it went down too well. I think I ate too fast and too much. How long will this yuck feeling last? Lessen learned omg.

Ok, here I am I'm sorry to have left you hanging for so long. I kind of shut down when I don't feel we'll. The surgery went well, first day is a blur, I slept through most of it, that evening I was up almost every half hour going pee which was exhausting since I had to get disconnected from everything then reconnected every time. I'm sure the hospital roommate was not pleased with me. I didn't like the morphine button, it just made me feel nauseous and really out of it so I didn't use it much the first night after about 10pm so I was very uncomfortable all night. The next day, I had to have blood work and X-rays done and didn't get to start liquids of any kind till about 1pm Thursday. At that point I was given liquid pain meds that helped me sleep and didn't make me feel crappy, it was heaven! I slept so sound and when I woke up felt sooooooo much better. I was walking the halls mostly because I couldn't find a comfortable position to sit or lay since the day before but man was I out of it. I went home Friday and have been just laying low, I walked out to the mailbox and up and down the stairs to get protein drinks a couple of times but have mostly been sleeping. Today I will work on staying awake a little more. I haven't had much gas, but burping feels like a hiccup that hurts and I was finally able the fart last night and that was great! Haha! Tmi I know. I don't bruise really easy so I have a few small bruises but nothing like some people get. Advise for people in the future...definantly do the breathing exercises while in the hospital, they really help. I hope everyone has a problem free surgery as well! Best of luck! Pre-op weight 226 and I an 5'2" 204 day of surgery Surgery date 10/3/12

Sorry to ramble, but I hope this helps someone in the preop stage that is wondering exactly how things went down like I did. Feel free to ask me any questions! There is no such thing as TMI in my book (as you can obviously tell). Us being here for each other is the BEST sense of support! <3

I used the restroom and everything came out fine (tmi, but it smelt a little off, and a tip: wipingyour cookie back to front was much more comfortable then the front to back. I also used a wipie). I lyedown in bed on my comfy pillow-one of those bed rest pillows that have the arm rests and high back) and watched TV. I feel great! I'm taking small sips of water, as I took a semi medium swig and it made me gag. Now I'm just chilling watching TV and have a back massager(which I highly reccoment getting from Target or Walmart for about $6!) life is good, I feel great, and I am walking around my house every now and then.

Love/hate Relationship, 2.5 Years Post-Surgery
CurvyCat replied to CurvyCat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks, y'all. I do take it slowly, I think I am just sensitive to the restriction sensation, which makes the band problematic for me. I've tried varying levels of fills. Back and forth, filled and unfilled. I'm at 6.5cc now, which might be a touch too much, but 6cc is like being completely unfilled -- nothing stopping me at all from eating as much as I want. So, I'm trying to hang in there at this fill level and figure out something that will work for me food-wise to take the rest of the weight off. Then I can tackle maintenance maybe at a different level without the stuck/upchuck issues. haha I don't think a revision to sleeve would be covered by insurance as I haven't gained the weight back -- I've just been totally unable to lose any more. Thus far, no slipping. The process of the food coming back up isn't particularly harsh or vomit-y -- just kind of like a PB, but I do get tired of waiting for it to decide whether or not it's going to do it and I help it along. Sometimes all I have to do is bend over the toilet and up it comes. If I wait it out through the more uncomfortable episodes, it seems even MORE sensitive afterwards, whereas if I get rid of the offending food right away, it's not so much. I do "help" with a swallow or two of Water if I know it's already going to come back up so it's not trying to push out something thick, so what comes back up is like Soup (sorry if TMI). Otherwise I do follow the "rules" and I do not drink with meals - only when I can feel that it is already stuck and going to make a return trip up. Thanks so much for the feedback. I was blogging, but it was hard when it just became month after month of the same plateau and problems. A girl's gotta vent sometimes, though! -
I understand tmi but I had that happen while at work and know what you mean. I ended up waddling around work after spending 20 min in the bathroom. Finally after walking around it helped with that particular moment. However, to prevent it going forward, definitely up the liquids it made all the difference.

this is a tmi question. did anyone else get itchy down there, it went away but now there is a fowl smell and sex feels wierd its like all my moisture is gone. i hope i am not alone -
The "green zone" is achieving a level of restriction in your band that allows you to be satiated with less food and for a longer length of time without not feeling physical hunger. My surgeon has shared that his goals with fills are to allow the patient to still be able to tolerate meat, and to not get physically hungry for 3-4 hours. Stuck episodes are usually caused by the bandster eating food either too quickly, taking too large of a bite, or not chewing every bite enough. Making poor food choices with the wrong type of food (I.E. soft white bread) can also cause a stuck episode. "Sliming" happens when you have food that is really stuck, and your digestive system creates additional saliva and "foam" (I'm certain it's related to saliva, but have not researched it) in an effort to lubricate the esophagus so that the stuck food will pass through the band. Everyone does experience some variation regarding the length of time a stuck episode will take to resolve, the amount of pain they feel, and how many times (I know...TMI) they will have to "throw up" before the offending food is no longer stuck. I've been able to avoid all but one stuck episode...as I immediately heed my early warning signal of feeling too tight in my chest that lets me know I need to slow down or take smaller bites. I hope this information helps...the best way to learn is to ask questions!

I was just wondering if anyone else tested positive for this? I got the call this am that I tested positive for hpylori and everything else looked good for blood work. I'm just wondering what is this anyways? I have no problems with my stomach or acid reflex and I was told most people don't even know they have it. Anyways have to take 2 weeks worth of antibiotics and usually when taking antibiotics (the last time I took them anyways) I get super bad yeast infection (sorry if tmi!) So I just hope these don't cause that! Anyways anyone can give me more info would be great thanks!

Personal Question For Women Only

Totally TMI, but this seems to be the place to ask it. Since I gained weight I noticed that I started leaking a little bit (I don't have children). I attribute it to the extra belly fat pressing on my bladder. Do you think this will go away as I lose weight? A girl can only do so many kegels. Again, TMI. I'm sorry but I don't want to have to wear a pad for the rest of my life. -
Aunt flow its gone for me I have gas but not stinky:) I burp a lot and loud TMI .....hahaha

I lost 12 lbs on my pre-op diet and have lost 4 more lbs since surgery last Wednesday. Today I went to the brand new Trader Joes in Houston and was able to walk all around the store and look around and my knees didn't hurt. Before, when I went to any store I would have to take the riding cart around. I still rode the cart at costco and Sam's but pretty soon I won't need to. Also, this may be TMI, but I no longer have to brace myself against the wall of the bathroom to get my arm far enough around to wipe myself. That was one of my last straws. While I was on my pre-op diet I noticed that I could move the seat up a couple of notches making it easier to hold the clutch all the way in - I had to move it back after surgery since my stomach was swollen and sore, but I will probably be able to move it all the way up (I'm only 5' tall) after the swelling goes down.
