I would be grateful if everyone could help and send me or give advice on what l should be eating. What portion sizes. What l can't eat, how much water l should drinking, how much protein l should be eating. Either in powder or shakes. How much exercise l should be doing every day. I really need your help. Also l am always hungry what can l do to stop this. My starting weight was 122 kg, and after surgery 101 kg. My weight today is 106 kg. Your experience would be really appreciated. These are some before photos. (You’ll notice a few different hair colors and styles...I’m a fan of change)
  4. I'm losing more than weight. Ran labs to prep for my annual exam and since my pre-op labs in September (sleeved 10/13), I've lost:

    • 39pts off my Total Cholesterol including...
      • 29pts off LDL
      • 33pts off Triglycerides
    • 18pts off fasting glucose & almost normal range
    • A1C is lower on low end of "pre-diabetic" range

My surgeon does labs at 6 months, so this is cool info to have in the meantime!

  5. Hi Peeps, I had my Gastric bypass (RnY) on Aug 17. My stats are as follows. SW: 302 lbs Height: 169 cm. CW: 227 lbs. Total lost: 75 lbs Exercise: Walking 10km daily However, I'm feeling I'm not losing fast enough. Plus I've fallen off track with the festival season...been gorging on sweets, cakes and food. Just lost 8 pounds since November 15th. I'm worried that I'm going to ruin this. Any tips on how to lose faster as well as break this food addiction...can't seem to stop eating and feeling guilty after. Would really appreciate the help. Please help guys! Thank you.
  6. I got the sleeve in October 2017. I was down 135lbs and it felt great. Last April I started to gain a little back. I wasn’t surprised since I wasn’t being as strict as I had been. Unfortunately, it has snowballed and I have gained 35lbs back. I feel like I never had the surgery and my sweet tooth is out of control. Could I have stretched my stomach out back to the size it was? How can I shrink it? Help! Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  7. I got the sleeve in October 2017. I was down 135 lbs and it felt great. Last April started to gain some back. I wasn’t surprised since I wasn’t being as strict as I had been. Unfortunately, it has snowballed and I have gained back 35lbs. I feel like I have totally stretched my stomach out. I need more food to feel satisfied and my sweet tooth is out of control. Is it possible I stretched my stomach so much that I feel like I didn’t even have the surgery? How can I shrink it? Can I? Help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I’m struggling feeling like this isn’t going to work and not strong enough to do this! Please help!
  9. So how did everyone's holiday season go? Usually, in the Before Times, I'd put on 5-10 lbs. between Thanksgiving and Los Reyes Magos. I'll be honest with y'all. I ate like crap this year too. Carbs and sugar and fat and hardly any vegetables or fiber. I did make sure I got my protein and water though. And I chose days when I'd be off track instead of having six or seven weeks of "eh, whatever, I'll start again January 2". Thanksgiving; St. Lucia; Christmas Eve and Christmas; New Year's Eve. I also had nice meals for my fiancé's birthday and went to a friend's party. The restriction did help, though I've discovered more "slider" foods that I need to avoid, ones that I can eat a lot of that don't seem to trigger my restriction. And yet, when I came to the end of the holiday season for my weigh-in this morning, I had lost 14 pounds over that timeframe. I'm stunned. Pants that I bought right before Christmas are now loose; shirts in XL are now starting to flap in the breeze a bit (but not so much that I'm going to size down QUITE yet). My body definitely has got used to the way I was feeding it; when I returned to my usual careful tracking each time, I felt so much better. I don't really restrict myself on foods unless I know they're sliders or I won't have any control (hello, Dot's Pretzels...), but it's a matter of just really carefully weighing things out. "The food scale eats first"—so nothing goes in my mouth until I've portioned it out and logged it.
  10. So this past year has been HELL for me. Not only am I now almost done with a divorce from my middle school sweetheart xs 3 kids, because he was cheating with the 17 year old babysitter. Yep walked in and caught them in our bed. He said he loved me still not in love with me I wasn't young and pretty anymore. I also lost 2 of my beloved pups. Had to start travel nursing to make ends meet, leaving my youngest daughter with him mostly. Being a nurse during this time is trying enough. Then got caught up in the middle of a shoot out at a gas station. All this stress and I started eating bad again. Gained 40 lbs of the 110lbs lost. I absolutely hate me now. I don't even know where to start to get back on track. How do you eat right living out of a hotel room. How do I handle all these sweet cravings I have from the stress. Please help me with any advice. I have been so depressed that I thought of ending it at times. Feeling like a failure. Ps. I start counseling soon.
  11. I had revision surgery on Nov.8th sleeve to bypass due to Gerd and a Hiliatal Hernia. After doing some research it suggest that revision patients tend to loose weight at a slower pace than other weight loss patients. Has anyone else heard that? I’ve lost a total of 35lbs since surgery and Tuesday will be 2 months.
  12. A couple of weeks ago I got sick, probably a stomach virus, but I had been having gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea) on a different diet, that I'm going to post about later, so I decided to give Weight Watchers a try. I didn't realize that they have just revamped their program and released a new iteration of it in November 2021, so my timing was pretty good to start the new program. It's taken a couple of weeks for my body to adjust after reintroducing carbs again, but I'm starting to lose weight now. I did WW way back in 2006 or so and was successful, so I thought I'd try it again. PROS: well-balanced meals without restricting certain foods, easy-to-follow, easy tracking system for daily points, allows flexibility On this new version, Personal Points, you take an assessment online and it asks you if you're diabetic, what types of foods you typically like to eat, what your rate of activity, is and it calculates both your daily allotment of food "points" as well as generates your own personal list of "zero point" foods. So my list of zero points may not be the same as yours. On my list, I can count eggs, grilled chicken, corn, and of course non-starchy green vegetables as zero points. I like the bar code scanner that scans grocery store packages and converts it into points for you and also they've got just about every restaurant imaginable in their database with associated point values. Is anybody else here doing Weight Watchers? I'll keep you posted on my progress.
  13. Hi I’m 34 and looking forward to having the sleeve next year. I’m really hoping this surgery will boost my confidence and help me get back into the flow of dating. I’m so tired of being used, closet girlfriend or finding out I’m a side chick. Oh that’s hard to even write. It hurts and has caused me to kinda shut down on the dating. I’ve always been very out going, confident and enjoyed dating and I can’t wait to be there again. I’d love to hear some uplifting stories of dating success after survey.

How soon after surgery do you start to lose weight?
  17. Hi all, I'm 9 months post op and in the past two months I did not lose one pound. I eat a little bit more than before, but my eating habits are very good. I lost 65 pounds in total (I'm at 165 now) but would love to go down to 130lbs at least. Is the weight loss done for me? I'm wondering if there was no more weight loss for any one of you after less than a year. I just want to mentally prepare myself if 160-165 is the lowest I will get
  18. Hello, I had sleeve on 12/16 and my weight has not moved much and today I noticed it's back up 3lbs. I lost 13lbs on pre op but nothing after surgery. Is this normal? I'm feeling discouraged. I've been on full liquids. I get my protein in the form of shakes and yogurt. It's hard to get fluids in but I am doing that too. Any advice or help? Sent from my SM-A716U using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I’m almost 6 months post-op and lost over 90lbs. I haven’t had any major stalls in my weight loss but I just weighed myself and saw I gained 3lbs. Is this normal? I’ve been following everything I need to so I’m confused
  20. Had my mini gastric bypass on Nov 19th. As of today I am down 29 lbs. Is that average? Almost seems excessive. A pound a day…
  21. Had this stupid surgery 5 months ago and I’m still not losing any weight. I’ve been logging my meals and sticking to 800 calories a day like the doctor told me to. And every time I see him he repeats the same thing (It’s obvious he doesn’t believe I’m keeping my calories on target) and he schedules another appointment. Every time I weight exactly the same. I still don’t understand what the surgery is supposed to do for me if I’m required to stick to a low calorie diet long term. Yeah, yeah… “the surgery is just a tool”…. A tool for what? What benefit is the surgery providing? None as far as I can tell.
  22. I just had the gastric sleeve done on December 10th and I lost 1.8 lbs. Is this normal? I don’t want to compare myself to others but I’m concerned. Is there anything I should be doing? I can only consume liquids and I struggle with that. When does the weight loss start? 😏

Hello everyone! I had my surgery on the 24th of November. Post Op no issues! No pain I can take all medications! However, I have only lost 20 pounds since surgery.... I don't know what I am doing wrong or if I am I have my dietitian on the 29th of this month! Any suggestions? I am walking not every day but most days I do walk
  24. I feel like I’ve hit a wall. It’s like I started losing a good amount of weight for the first few weeks. Now I’m at week 6 and I feel like I haven’t lost anymore. My husband says I have. But idk. I don’t feel like I have. Anyone else have this issue ? Or have any insight ?
  25. I've lost 35 lbs since surgery and almost 85 lbs overall. I can walk faster and fit in an airplane seat better, but I don't feel "good." I don't have more energy and I'm hungry all the time and I'm uncomfortable every time I eat. I'm always afraid I'm going to throw up because I'm nauseous a lot. I always had plenty of energy, but now I'm weak and dizzy all the time. I can't even lift a suitcase into the overhead. I'm sort of wishing I hadn't had this surgery. Maybe because I had such high expectations?
