Zoloft - 7 months after RNY - weight gain?
mamabear_2_2 posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi everyone, I'm 7 months out of RNY (Aug 23, 2021) and my weight loss has been great (down 82lbs). I have been struggling my entire life with anxiety and as I get healthier I have been more motivated to deal with my mental health issues as well. I had a conversation with my primary care dr. this morning and she is prescribing 25mg of Zoloft and talk therapy. My question is - have you been on or started Zoloft after RNY? My main concern is weight gain. I am soooo nervous about taking this medication and losing the results I have worked so hard for the last year. I'm also concerned about it slowing my weight loss. I am 100% going forward with the talk therapy and honestly feel I could use the help of a medication, but am so nervous about trying it and then gaining. Thanks all! -
Question, has anyone not lost any weight for their monthly check in? I haven’t and I’m stressed as I see them later tomorrow.

Hello this is my first post. I wanted to try to get a better understanding as to what is possibly going on. I had my gastric sleeve surgery on the 24th Jan of this year the first 5 weeks i lost a lot of weight fast, 20kg. Now i'm at a stand still the past 2 weeks i'm bobbing up and down 1/2 kg. i'm now down to 146 kg. I have no access to a dietitian until 16th May so i can't ask whats going on. I was at my local GP on Friday to get a blood test ordered as i have anemia on and off since surgery i felt like rubbish no energy, tired all the time and it's an effort to get out the front door. I'm suppose to be making all these fantastic changes exercising and honestly i just don't have the energy for it i do try to get out every day for a walk thats a force. I'd apprechiate any insight, thoughts or ideas all are welcome.

On average, how long after surgery does weight loss stop?
LouLouM posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello everyone. I am wondering, on average, when weight loss stopped after gastric sleeve surgery? Thank you. -
Hey! I'm about one month post op (gastric bypass feb 14). I've only lost about 23 lbs post op. I was at 309 when I went in for surgery. I think my weight was like 314 right after surgery because of all the fluids though. Anyway I'm getting annoyed because I've been in between 287 and 286 for the last 2 weeks. I am eating more calories now but not nearly enough to gain or even stall. I have about 700-800 calories a day right now. Is this normal to stall out so early? I try incorporating exercise in my daily routine but I'm still dealing with a lot of fatigue and lightheadedness from anemia so I feel terrible whenever I really exert myself. Any advice or tips? Hi all, my wife had a weightloss surgery at december 1st 2021, she was 308 lbs, now she has already hit 209 lbs, im scared shes gona lose too much weight. what can we further expect? how much will she lose?

Ugh. Today marks two weeks since my RNY. First week I lost 10 lbs. This past week I lost 1.5 lbs. I don’t understand how this is even mathematically possible when I’m eating no more than 600 cal/day on average (no issues getting fluids in, no constipation, eating mushy foods now and getting most of my protein in). The logical side of my brain knows this is a process, but the emotional part that misses McDonald’s fries is feeling like this tastes a lot like Weight Watchers 🙄

I had my surgery 12/20/20. I was doing well until I had a near fatal car accident on 8/9/21. I had a head injury and am still in a wheelchair. I regained all the weight I lost. I really need support. How can I get back on track. My surgeon does not have a support group. I am getting occupational therapy, physical Therapy and speech therapy. But since I cannot walk without support and I still cannot drive. I will begin therapy with a psychologist hopefully she can help me with depression and possibly my eating disorder. What do you recommend I do? Sent from my SM-A716U using BariatricPal mobile app

JessiPhoenix posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in my pre-op diet stage. My surgery is March 17th. I'm doing exactly what I'm suppose to and I'm so hungry and I haven't lost any weight. What's wrong with me?? -
After your revision how much extra weight did you loose after? Did it come off slower than the first surgery?

Weight loss I’m nearing the 3month period & have only loss 30 pounds. I’ve started working out daily 30 minutes a day in the mornings. Do any one have any thoughts on this issue?

I came across this video on a surgeon’s perspective on how to set weight goals after WLS. Thoughts? Experiences?

I had my surgery (sleeve) on 2/14 and recovery is going relatively smoothly. I’ve been following the dietitians guidelines and starting to walk 30 minutes a day. Over the last few days the scale has been going UP not DOWN 😫. Has anyone experienced this? My thought is that I didn’t get enough protein in the first week following surgery and my body is balancing that out. Thoughts?

OnMyWay1956 posted a topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Can't find the update anywhere. I would like to get back into posting and keeping track of my stats, but have looked and can't find where to do this. Can someone direct me to the right link for updating? -
Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2020 and was wondering if WLs has truly change it for you better or worse. Part of the reason I am doing this surgery is to hopefully get rid of the weight that is impossible to lose due to PCOS but also because I heard it "cures" it. What are you're thoughts or experiences?

Can sleep study results delay your weight loss surgery
Diann Mayfield posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I visited the sleep center today and was given results by the NP. I have had three previous studies. The first one I only slept 16 minutes out of eight hours. The second study was better but I could not tolerate C -PAP so they stopped that study and had me come back in for Bi-PAP. I sure do hope this does not set my surgery date back. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thank you and be blessed. -
I had my surgery 2/7. I am on liquids right now but since surgery I’ve gained 7lbs. How is this possible? Anyone gain weight immediately after surgery?

Bling2022 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, I had my surgery on 1/1/2022 SW 141Kg CW 125.8 Kg, for the last three weeks I have only lost 1.3kg, I aim to get my protein around 50-60g per day although I struggle with my water intake. My daily calorie intake is around 500-700. last check up was on 27th of Jan and my surgeon is expecting me to be around 120 by the end of Feb. Please let me know if its normal. -
It's been 20 years since my bypass. My surgery weight was 379. My lowest was 170. The most I weighed post opp was 243. I'm now 218 and I'm struggling to get under 200. Anyone else here has this problem. I know alcohol is one of the biggest set back

March 3rd, 2022, will be my one year post-op anniversary. I have lost 127 lbs. For a while now, everytime I eat something, I feel like I am gaining weight! I have this constant worry about it. I try on different clothes, just to make sure I am not, I check the scale regularly, etc. I love my success, and I would do it ten times over, if I had to, but I do not like this constant worry about weight gain.

I have gained about 10lbs and I haven’t been doing anything different. I eat healthy and walk 2 miles a day. My PCP did change me to a birth control pill. Could that be causing weight gain? Or and I on a stall?
